Introducing Ear (2) ft. Marques Brownlee

right some of you may have seen Carl's recent YouTube videos that us the content team have been getting him to do he's been doing reviews get involved in Vlogs reactions the content has been really fun to make we're seeing your comments and we're all about making more we're big fans of YouTube and we've been consuming Tech YouTube for years so this gave us a thought before Carl jumps into this let's pay our respects to the creators that have helped build the culture around Tech on YouTube we're standing on the shoulders of giant so why not show Carl what it takes to be them for a day so that's why we spent the last few months building exact replica sets of some of our favorite tech YouTubers in the space in its 4 000 square foot studio in London we wanted to match everything down to the very last detail so we've got custom props we made custom backdrops we've rented in five different cameras we hired a huge theme to all execute this even down to the Wardrobe completely does Carl know he's doing this so here's the ear to our new product let's go grab Carl show them what we've been doing and do an unboxing hello bro you still got time to film today uh yeah sure we're not coming mbhd camera looks very familiar oh yeah there's a logo wow you guys have a lot of effort into this I didn't know what you guys were doing every day I just saw all the vacation requests wow we even got the I Carl like and then you got her little Macintosh computers yeah okay car and if I can get you to come sit down for me please I gotta learn how to be M can be HD hey what is up guys this is ckbhd looks funny so he needs to bang this what is up guys Carl here today we're talking here too good yeah let's do Mr who's the boss recordings drop you got this man we'll get there okay bro you're destined for this fam this is our third audio product and we've been working hard on the sound features and design and we're really proud of it okay perfect next is Jerry rig we don't really want you to do like a sexy voice but um just get real close to the mic and do like a kind of ASMR thing for us okay let me try with us here is the nothing here too a year in the making let's see what our team has been up to first of all we worked very hard on the sound quality you know what college we're good man we can leave it for the sexy voice third audio product here uh my Hindi is a bit Rusty should we just move on yeah we can move on Mom next is our Justine uh uh what are we going to talk about the product yeah we can talk about a product now you already talked about none yeah so we also shoot some b-roll on the product one just put it on the screen yeah okay yeah that's good cool so what's it here two saying that man yeah the product where do we start there's nothing year one always has a special place in our hearts it's our first product and a lot of our consumers love it but over the past year A lot has changed here at nothing our engineering team has gone a lot stronger and also because of the success of the year one we've gotten a lot more suppliers wanting to work with us we can now work with the best in the world and in addition to that the technology world is changing around us there's a lot more new technologies today that we can leverage to build products so we felt it was the right time to develop second generation the nothing year two sound quality has been one of the main focus areas for us when it comes to nothing year two and we're really proud about the results we've done a couple of things first instead of using a off-the-shelf driver we've now made our own custom driver that has thicker and more flexible materials allowing us to deliver a better Base Air 2 also supports lhdc 5.0 that's also what enables us to support high-res audio our team has done a lot of work on the audio for the air too and I can't wait to hear the feedback from our community another thing that's really important to us is Iconic design to create a family of products that immediately even when not seeing the nothing logo you know it's from the same brand so that's exactly what we've done with the ear two one of the main feedbacks we got for the year one case was that it was nice but a little bit too big so that's what we focused on solving it keeps the design we love but is smaller lighter and has better battery life so Carl I'm reading here noise canceling is 40 DB yeah when it comes to noise cancellation for audio products don't just look at the amount of DB yes the nothing year two has 40 DB noise cancellation but a lot of really cheap and crappy wireless earphones also have 40 DB the amount of decibels canceled does not equal better sound quality or a more Serene experience so how exactly is it better then well we've done a couple of things for one the bandwidth for noise cancellation is now 5000 Hertz and this is about 2.5 times higher than the nothing year One what this means is that the noise cancellation captures a lot more frequency when it comes to audio so the edge cases in terms of noise can also get canceled we've also developed something that we call personalized sound because everybody's hearing is different so the ear 2 actually adapts to your individual hearing the shape of your ears and also the Sounds in your environment for that optimal noise cancellation experience one of my favorite features on the nothing year 2 is the Dual connection feature it's kind of annoying with wireless earbuds where you're connected to one device and it's not that easy to switch between devices so with the ear 2 you can actually connect it to two devices for example your phone and your laptop at the same time and it will intelligently switch between them depending on where the sound is coming from so imagine you're listening to music on your laptop and somebody calls you your tool will automatically switch to your phone super convenient okay cool what else I mean there's a ton of specs but you know candles today they're kind of boring so I don't want to talk about specs I don't think specs are what makes a good product a good product but for the spec Warriors out there who really care here let's put them up for you okay cool I think we understand the product man when's it coming out when's this video coming up uh we're aiming for the 22nd so let's release a product then okay nice one Carl [Music] what is up guys Carl here
