INSTALLING A VALVETRONIC DESIGNS ACTIVE EXHAUST ON MY WHIPPLE MUSTANG GT! (VALVED EXHAUST NOTE) #V8

[Music] what is going on guys it's toby here and today we're going to be installing my new valvetronic exhaust so we're getting rid of the borla attack it's been a farewell that thing sounded awesome but trey actually came up here with this subie to pack everything up in his car because as you guys know sally is completely filled up so we're going to take you through the full installation process this is going to be a sick video stay tuned there's mr train hisubi now fun fact i always wanted a subie when i was younger so like looking at his car is just so sick it's well put together and i think it makes like 400 wheel horsepower right now on e60 so it's definitely no slouch i mean those cars are super light but basically we're going back to his house with the lift as you guys know we were there in the previous video to put on these carbon fiber fenders and we're going to slap on that exhaust for quick little things so i forgot what those taillights are called but they're sick and trey told me that he's raced a couple of mustangs like stock gen 3s obviously uh at tijuana or on the drag strip and he beat them actually a full bolt on one because they made like what 460 wheel or 480 wheel horsepower he's making 400 but he weighs a lot less so i mean i believe it that car moves and so literally we're just talking in traffic trey's behind me we're gonna get chipotle though you guys know the deal chipotle every day nah i'm joking i actually haven't had chipotle for the past four days so we're gonna get chipotle and then we're gonna head to his house and do the whole exhaust install just wanted to tell my mom that i'm sorry because i actually skipped class today so if she's watching this mom i'm sorry i skipped a class to install this new exhaust because i had to so that's how it is honestly so clean i mean just look at this thing got the carbon accents all over yes sir just had lunch and i was trying to take some pictures of sally in the parking lot and this like i don't know parking lot security guard came up to me was like you're blocking the flow of traffic but i don't know it was so stupid i thought it was funny and then after that he asked me about the cars so he was kind of mean and then he was asking me about the car and showing interest and stuff but anyways we're on the way to trey's house now decides to shoot flames out of the suv i didn't even know that this car shot flames look at this that is so sick it took me by surprise honestly because i was just driving and i was like what the heck that car is shooting a crazy amount of flames it shoots even bigger flames between shifts and there's mr trey he's smiling i want to see if i can get it on video there you go there's the baby flames that's awesome man that is so sick but anyways i wanted to record a little bit of me driving so you guys get a comparison of the drone with the borla attack so it's pretty bad i mean i'm just cruising 2000 rpms pretty bad drone i mean you can hear it obviously and then when i get the valvetronic exhaust on we'll do a comparison of the drone all right so he's gonna do one more pool we're gonna see if we can get it to do a mega pop there we go oh my god that was a loudest one so far it's so what crazy did is we packed up this balcony exhaust in the back of the suv and we just got to trey's house so now we're gonna slap it on here's one of the mufflers we're gonna grab everything else out of here this is kind of heavy i do think this is a little bit heavier than the borla attack so we don't do weight reduction around here we actually make cars heavier this is what the full exhaust looks like on box here are the tips this is like the wiring harnesses for the actual active exhaust so you have like the control module and then these are the remotes hey i didn't think it would be red red stick shift it's a stick hellcat yeah oh my god that is sick not a lot of people get that option so i know i've only seen one other one oh yeah this is a car yeah you gotta show us uh the waffle maker oh yeah your waffle right here is that aftermarket intake or stock oh it's aftermarket intake the whole point was just to make the supercharger louder oh it's making it wine more yeah so it's open box yeah that's sick yeah i've seen one you know judah garage yes so i saw his hellcat in real life but because he gave it away to somebody oh so i saw the winner of it in orlando did you guys win yeah yeah what was it a 911 boxers yeah man those car defenders look so good and this i guess is a comparison of how loud the exhaust is when you just normally drive it so you can hear it right now then we'll compare it to the valvetronic once again [Music] this slide has been further back [Music] oh my god it's so loud bro jesus christ i guess this is a comparison red so one more oh my god jesus tried trey we got it on the list no way i think it's because we had help like lining it up because if you have someone standing in front like looking and then you have someone in the back so much easier than just me standing in the back and like yep looks good i'm just guessing [Music] give us some revs out of the beamer so we can hear what it sounds like bro your dog is going nuts [Music] what size are these bolts here so they're all 16. these are all 16 millimeter bolts so we're gonna just completely replace all of this uh we have my catted long tube headers to the right here but we're going from here back and replacing the whole exhaust so what we're gonna do is take off these connections right here because we need this to assemble the other exhaust and then we'll put this all together and drop it in you got it so we're just taking off all the clamps right now i got you i got you and then there's one more and it should just come off yeah from there back i don't think there's any other ones to do to remove all the clamps first and then take it from there i think you're gonna need my big and strong hand spray probably keep shifting all right cody i'm sorry in advance but we have to rip out this diffuser real quick and because this screw is not coming out man yeah it's coming slowly you know if you see this and you want your 200 refund just remember that it's non-refundable so the whole reason why we have to rip that out is because this screw with the washer is not coming out on that side and we need this diffuser fin off to clear the muffler so that we can pull it off so it's a big pain in the butt hopefully we can get it off there's a little hack so you use a flat head and you push down on the washer and unscrew we're trying to get these mufflers off and we're pulling in one direction another because this is one of the connections right here but i think we should get the bracket off we got to push it forward i think and then pull it off because if it's off the bracket it'll be easier we got one side of muffler off and what we've been doing is using a screwdriver or a flat head and hitting it with a mallet so that is what worked to get this side off and it kind of just fell off be careful with that though what's your name again spencer literally had to catch that or would have smacked the floor super hard is it coming off should we yank it like we did last time yeah okay i think we need to hit it with a screwdriver a little bit [Music] we've got this side of the connection off and now we got to take it off that top bracket in there trying to get the angles right there you go [Music] the random clip fell off the camera for some reason it's stuck on that and i think it's because it's like downward force or maybe it bent let's hope the bracket didn't bend did it bend or no hold on you're gonna have to do it this way because you're doing it this way it's come look at it so we just have an h-pipe back with the headers let's see how loud this car is hold up trey i gotta record this on my phone too it actually doesn't sound bad [Music] it sounds like a race car [Music] very good it looks like the borla weld just completely blew out is it not like that on the other side that's not good i have a hard time explaining it to the guy who bought it but that's easy to fix right like if somebody knows how to weld so after you get the parts off after the h-pipe you got to take these hanger brackets off and it's super difficult what did we use to get it off uh pb blaster yeah so it's some type of lube and we finally got it off but you really have to yank and stuff be careful not to crack the hanger because i kind of cracked the hanger on this side on the borla but i mean that's an easy weld to fix that up and this should just come back in here but yeah you twist this off like crazy until you get it off so that you can mount on the new exhaust so yeah it's a pretty difficult process be prepared to pull it off i need someone with some muscle you got a tray need my help wait what's up with that is that is that sitting on a different bracket what that seems more in then it seems shorter so now we're taking off the borla h-pipe and we're putting on the resonator h-pipe it's not really one like it's it's kind of bs like you can see right through it but anyways you're going to take this off [Music] that would make sense that's why all right we're all set for the new h-pipe which is over here it's from valvetronic designs just like everything else it's a lot more fancier and a little bit better looking than this borla one but we'll see how it sounds with the active exhaust currently trying to figure out this whole h-pipe situation we can't really get it to fit in here so we're gonna try and open up these clips some more so we have some more leeway because right now it's not aligning what we ended up doing is putting the brackets on the ground and then putting them on the pipes so it's all sorted now and i'm going to tighten it there we go there's one side done so what we ended up doing is flipping over the resonator i took a really long somehow these guys finished everything by the time i came out but it was on incorrectly and now we're mounting it to the back with the bracket valvetronic put on thank you trey got it oh not quite a couple of clips here before we put on the mufflers so we're just gonna hit this with the impact and tighten this down and this tightens down to the resonator portion there you go oogadooga so one thing i totally forgot to mention or we just decided is that we have to take off these brackets right here for the mufflers because it won't fit on without it so we tried to shove it in there and it just doesn't work so we're gonna do it the non-laser route and remove the bolts take these off put them on the ground with the mufflers on the ground and then put it back up there these are the exhaust brackets that i'm talking about you gotta give them some force push it in but there you go if you do this while it's on the car like it's completely impossible we try trust me add this piece get super close to the hole as like as possible tighten it down and then you can take the tip and adjust the tip out farther okay so we have the tips on so far we have the muffler on we've got the muffler working on that side but this looks a little bit too close to the tire right here so we're gonna see if we can push this in with this connection right here so we're gonna loosen it push this muffler back in and hopefully we can get some more clearance because i think if i drop the car down it might rub i think it's moving in a little bit put your right hand in did i clamp on right yeah so both tips are on now and we're gonna give sally her first start with the new exhaust what let's get this first started hold up hold up i gotta get my phone out for tick tock you guys know the deal all right ready go first start a lot up but it's like a better toe wow that's a lot quieter and here are some revs some revs out of the car it sounds awesome it's not as raw with the borla but i really like the tone cherry what were you saying that it's made out of titanium obtainium is how they say it and then when you get it hot it'll turn gold like look at this world right here it's all time oh yeah that is awesome so we're gonna do a comparison clip i mean i think we're gonna have to use an old one because did we rub it earlier yeah but not from behind right no no so i think i have old clips of that that's not a big deal and we'll put that in but basically it's like a more refined tune far from mine so i want to hear this we have left to do is slap on like all the wiring for the valves to work and stuff but here's the difference between the valvetronic and the borla so the borla is like a lot lower quality even though it's like a really good exhaust i mean this thing is just immaculate look at it i am also going to be taking off this street arrow diffuser because cody bought it and i'm putting on a gt500 rear valence so i think we only have like one nut left right yep and there there we go so it just drops out like that and i'll throw this in the trunk and keep it for cody finishing up with this install now i actually just hit my head like not too long ago i absolutely banged it up but we're getting these vacuum lines sorted out so they plug into the back of the actual muffler right here and this is how you open and close the valve so tray we got to measure this out and like cut it so that it will reach both sides and then i mean this side comes here yeah we're going to take t's off right yeah like we have a team off onto that like um modulator that's in the truck come out in the trunk so we're gonna run it through this hole up here and so we're gonna run it up in there make sure it's gonna reach cut the line clean everything up with the zip ties or whatever we're gonna use and then run another line straight up so for anybody wondering how we're running the vacuum lines from the mufflers we're putting it basically on the back like i showed earlier and i ran it up through there and then it came around right above the evap box i think and right through this hole so this hole right here goes into the trunk and that's where we're gonna put the receptor module this right here is the actual receiver box you just put some like gorilla tape on the back of it if you choose to put it where i did in this car so yeah it's super simple we stuck that on there ran the two vacuum lines up through the trunk put the t on it now we're gonna put it on the other side of the muffler because there's two spots where vacuum lines go on on that edge or this sort of what do you even call that right there yeah it's like a needle or something yeah just a splitter for the vacuum lines yeah so there's one on each of the mufflers and you need the vacuum lines on each side so now we're gonna run that there and then we're gonna cut it when we have everything measured out and this should be the last connection this is what i was explaining with the vacuum line so we got to connect it to the muffler right here we ran it right up through here and then up through the trunk and then obviously it's the same thing on the other side so we ran it actually through under this green part right here through there once again and then down to the other muffler and then it goes into the trunk into that red box so this connection is to the cigarette port so we're running it through the bottom of the trunk where we have that red box through here where we actually put it so this is right behind the tail light and then we're going shrunk and i don't know what trey has got planned next but i think he knows what he's doing here right yeah we're gonna run it down through here and then down all this hard plastic under the seat and into the cigarette lighter and the glove in the middle box is a great angle got to get the wiring on the block on the vlog so we ran the wire through the trunk underneath these rear seats they pop up super simple oh i can't even speak right now i'm so tired but i've shown how to do that a million times because we had to lift that up for the fuel system so when i did the dw 400 pump you just lift up those rear seats there's like a clip in the middle and we ran it through there and then it's going to go in that cigarette lighter where trays is on top of right now so if we open this up there's a cigarette lighter right in there and that's where we plugged it in this right here is what the final setup looked like i need to get some light on this actually now that i have some light on it this is the final setup we ended up just like wiring it through the side like i explained earlier all the way to that cigarette board in the center console and then we have our vacuum lines so all we need to do is get some batteries set up on that remote and then test it out and give you guys the sound clips at this point i am mentally tapped out but how's it going trey with the remote he's putting it back together so you do have to buy a 3 volt car key battery so it's like a cr2032 right yeah perfect and you just drop that in there and close up the remote it should be set this is what it looks like when it's all closed up so everything's all set and done let's test it out i think we're gonna oh so that's open right trey that's open right and then if we press this again that's closed so you can hear the noticeable difference let's get on the outside and test it out that's awesome so this is closed right now right trey yeah okay let's open it up is this the right remote you stole the remote it hit me oh so this is open you close it you can really hear my difference that's awesome close it open it i meant i [Music] yeah i know the valves really make a difference but here's idling on open right now let's close it now do it red cold valves are closed right now one more all right let's open up the valve so this is revs with open valves jesus christ it sounds so freaking good you know what i didn't think it was gonna turn out this good i thought it was gonna quiet it down and tame it way too much but it sounds just as good with the valves open that's crazy thing that we're gonna do here to finish up the install is just wiping off the exhaust so did you use some chrome polisher i use chrome polisher now i'm just drying i get all the fingertips and everything else off of it yeah so that's awesome and the exhaust is changing colors as you can see it's a lot more there's a lot more blue on the welds in some areas and then it's like turning gold in some other areas so we got to put this up like a month later up on the lift and see what it looks like i honestly couldn't be more pleased with the whole thing the install i mean that was pretty tedious i will say like we had to put some work into it i mean banging in that resonator right here to make everything fit that was pretty nuts but i mean that's not even like a real resonator i mean with a real resonator you would get such a muffling of the sound and it sounds nuts with the valves yeah so it's not a real resonator what really matters are these valves in here so it really shuts it down and makes a difference but this is an awesome exhaust i mean it's not probably it is way better than the borla that was on it before you can control it it's not crazy loud all the time but when you want to open it up it sounds just like the borla oh i don't have to wake up the whole neighborhood every time i start the car so this is with the valves closed it's still loud but it's a lot toned down that's awesome man this made a huge huge difference i cannot emphasize enough so you just pulled the car out a little bit so it makes all the loading of everything back up super easy now i already sold this borla attack so i'll be getting rid of it but here's the look of sally without the diffuser so we pulled these tips out pretty far and it looks sick last little thing i do want to adjust and bring this side up because this side is fitting perfectly in there so i want to bring this side up because it's a little bit wonky and off right now you tell me how to adjust it i can hold it however you want to adjust it on tighten back up like that it's perfect good all done yeah so that fitment is a lot better now on each side trey how you feeling we did it yeah i love i love how it sounds yeah it sounds so good honestly major upgrade major upgrades around here last little test or comparison is to show the drone so there's literally no drone like this is closed right now and then let me open it up in just a second so that's open now obviously there's the drone let's take out the drone you see it completely eliminated it so this is a major upgrade over the borla attack i'm gonna get home get some rest and that's pretty
