hey guys mark from ubuild creative here to show you how to install a frameless glass mirror so this mirror here i just got from home depot it is a 48 by 30 it's for a 48 inch vanity and we're going to show you how to how to put it together the way the professionals do so you're not going to see any fasteners you have to see anything it's just a simple little frameless mirror so follow on i got this at home depot for uh we're in canada so i paid 110 for it uh if you're gonna pay a professional to come supply and install mirror like this you're probably gonna pay uh 250 to 300 supplied installs so it shows you how to do it for just over 100 bucks so first take it out of the package lay it down now what i'm using for this is the dot painters caulking this stuff is the same stuff the glue baseboard and and casing onto the walls with and if you've ever tried to take off old baseboard you have to use a knife to cut your seams because it's glued on so you know the nails whole thing in a place hold things into place but once it's been once it's been cocked with this it's set and it's as good as glue so the thing i like about it it's a little tacky i still have some room to move it around okay now i'm in my bathroom this is a 48 inch vanity like i said so now what i'm doing is i took a piece uh this is actually door jamb and uh because what i've done is i've balanced so basically i haven't gone exactly the same distance from the top of the bottom but that mirror is a 30 inch mirror and i've got 37 and a half i'm six foot two so when i look in the mirror i want it just to go over my head because i'm about as i'm not i'm not the tallest guy out there but you know you want kids to be able to see themselves in the mirror as well so yeah basically what i've done is taken a piece of door stop and i've got it there i put that into place then i've taken i've taken some tape i've i like using painters tape the best but unfortunately we're at the end of the job and everybody else likes using my painters tape too so i'm using electrical tape on this one because i'm not going to be damaging the mirror or the wall so anyways i just cut a bunch of pieces i've already cut a bunch as you can see and now i'm going to come and bring the mirror and i'm going to put it into place so i'm just balancing my mirror come back here now i can tell that my light fixture is a little bit out of black so now what i'm gonna do is i'm gonna put the first piece fingers tape in i always like to go up and down with it because what that does is just maximize the holding power i don't like using electrical tape because electrical tape will stretch i'm able to i'm able to do it in this case because i've got a solid piece on the bottom electrical tape will stretch but all i'm looking for is it keeping from falling off but really with the tackiness of that of that caulking it doesn't matter because it's it's in place i could have probably not taped it at all but i just like to be safe so you can see i taped around the whole thing i kind of reset my light a little bit but tomorrow we'll come back pull this out and everything is as it should be so one thing i didn't tell you is is leveling your base before you start i don't know if you can see that on the camera but i'm perfectly level inside the lines and then when you check your mirror yeah it's bang on so that's one step i didn't tell you about but if you can if you can start with it perfect off the bat you're gonna have a lot easier time doing it so that's it that's how you install a frameless mirror uh with the with hidden fasteners or really no fasteners just caulking so thanks for watching don't forget to subscribe and we'll see you next time on you build creative you
