Installing a 24ft x 52” INTEX above ground pool!

what's going on guys welcome back to the channel big country customs back at it again with the white vans just kidding today we got a uh unboxing setup video this is going to be of the intex ultra xtr 24 foot by 52 inch above ground swimming pool pretty excited about this me and my wife have been wanting a pool and we're gonna have one this summer and next summer and for the summers to come as long as it lasts um to play with our sun and so i'm gonna flip around here and show you guys what comes in the box and uh got a lot of cool setup footage coming up so stay tuned all right so the box was big it came on a pallet was delivered by a semi truck and it was heavy it took all i had and i'm a big guy to stand that thing up on its end so that i could unpack it comes with a pump uh i think that's a 2 800 gallons per hour pump and it comes with the part of the pump that goes on top this is uh some hardware box this is the uh i think the pull cover that goes on top of it i got the liner sitting over here on the drill press for the ground that goes on the dirt i'm going to level that out and it comes with a ladder i think those are the metal things and there's the pool liner so i'm pretty stoked about this so it's packaged up really nice stay tuned for some awesome setup footage uh i'm gonna level the ground out with the tiller hopefully my buddy lets me borrow it we'll see you'll see here coming up um we're pretty pumped to get this thing going we are gonna make this a saltwater pool so i have tons of salt i think i need like nine or ten bags for this size of pool uh to get started it's like four dollars a bag of walmart which is pretty good online for some reason they're 24 a bag i'm not sure what the disconnect in price is prices i got a saltwater system for in made by intex and a skimmer for the pool this unit here was like 600 bucks on top of the pool itself and then salt water test strips so we got a lot coming in this video stay tuned i hope you guys and i added two feet because i'm gonna do a bed and stuff around it later on and i made that right there because i'm gonna have somewhere to put the pump and stuff and uh my buddy let me borrow his tiller so i hope you guys enjoy some time lapse footage of me tilling this yard all right so i got dark home yesterday but today the plan is to beat daylight i don't think i only have like two hours of it i'm going to smooth it out with a yard rake and then try to pack it down with my lawnmower and then off the packed down portion i'm gonna try to fill any holes or gaps or whatever with any excess dirt works out in my head i don't know if it's gonna work but stay tuned you'll figure it out that wraps it up for today guys that's some work i used this kind of work living in a community like this uh trying to get all the little holes out of there because i don't want to step in a liner and you know just sink down and possibly rip it so i'm really really really debating on calling my buddy with the tractor but uh we'll see you guys tomorrow all right so as you guys just saw i took the easy way out a guy in town did that for an incredibly cheap price to my surprise because he said his minimum to come out is usually like 500 bucks so luckily he was coming home from a job already had that machine and he hit me up what a nice guy he was and uh i saved my back so i'm going to take my lawnmower out there and i'm going to try to run over these ruts that the machine made and sliding it out let's go [Applause] all right so this is what she looks like so far and i think i'm happy with it i think it looks really good it's nice and level nice and compact now after that 8 000 pound excavator been driving all over it my lawnmower did a pretty good job getting these ruts out and smooth most of the most of everywhere so that's nice i think i'm ready to put a pool up so we'll see y'all then i'm i am going to clean this stuff up off camera just letting you know but thanks for hanging out with super windy out here today but i got all the dirt and it was a ton of dirt cleaned up and i'm gonna put the tarp down that comes with it weigh it down because of the wind and uh luckily my brother-in-law is here to help me put it up so uh let's get to it there you have it got her up i started putting some salt in there i don't know if that's the right thing to do or not i got two hoses running to it because we're on city water and i think it's only where i live is like four dollars for every thousand gallons i think so shouldn't be too expensive she's a monster the video really doesn't do it justice she's pretty big um i get the pump and stuff hooked up and i'll see you guys there do some work this morning put the pump and everything up off camera there's a lot of videos out there to show you how to do it it was really self-explanatory the instructions helped me a lot one thing you might need to know is one 50-pound bag on this particular pump which i think is 2800 gallons an hour uh will not fill your sand filter all the way up so get two bags i have to go buy another one but got progress coming in pool's getting some water in it it's been running a long time but that's a lot of water i got the uh skimmer intex skimmer attachment as well so i hope that runs really good and here's my saltwater generator i never even knew i had all this stuff in the back but water comes in here goes out here and goes to the jet the jet but uh put rock down i eventually i'm gonna put rock all the way around this pool uh let me flip the camera around actually gonna put rock all the way around it i didn't want the pump and all sitting on the dirt so i had some extra bags of rock from doing my front yard and i put them down so i'm gonna find a way to stand this thing up here it's kind of just dangling when i when i graded it all i tilled a square you can see my orange paint for the pump and all out of the circle but yeah here she is yeah it was some work i got two hoses going in one's well water one city and she's getting there i'm gonna stake all this stuff up against all the tarp up against the pool but i gotta go get more sand first because as soon as it gets to where it can pull in water i'm gonna start the pump another thing if you guys are putting this up watch the these the legs because i had to come out here this morning while i was getting water in there and a lot of them like moved a little bit and because it's getting heavy and i pulled a lot out level and straight because they were like tilted in and tilted back and i think that's why a lot of people have a lot of problems with the legs bending or these top supports bending another thing might make these bend is if you don't have a level ground you'll have high and low spots here and it'll put a lot of pressure on these and they're really thin but they're really strong but that's something to keep in mind if you're going to put a pool in like this get a level level ground you know it's not a permanent in-ground pool or above ground pool but uh take care of your stuff you know and make it look nice everything looks level um so yeah this was a fun project all right guys
