Inside Steinway's Vault: Most Exclusive (& Expensive) Piano Showroom 😃 | Tiffany Vlogs #90

[Music] this is my first official styling look it's right there did you know that it's actually my first time to the New York star to my factory even though I've been in New York for 13 years hi this is Tiffany I did not start my vlog saying what i'm doing here i'm going to default so instead of just doing a normal factory tour which I will do in the future once you guys let me know in the comments of this one what you want to see in the factory and just yeah anything you want to see I will make that vlog later but to start off in my first Stegman vlog I'm going to here to the exclusive secret vault which is going to be exciting because normally people don't get to go there so I hope you enjoyed this vlog I have no idea what to expect but I am here with Anthony so see what's happen there's four people with with fingers way back sister was actually antony by the way originally just three yeah and and then I brought I kept bringing media by so they gave up and they gave me the fourth alright let's go to the vault ow alright here we go put my finger works here and now we have the door access granted welcome mr. Gilroy here we go nice sailboats and we have 16 yes in this room mm so each vignette is tuned if you would to the piano in that vignette so the lighting is going to be a little bit different based on what piano you have yes what other pianists are allowed to enter and on what occasions technically speaking it's invite-only yeah however will often have important groups a lot of times associated with institutions that come in sometimes they'll be a selector or sometimes they'll be a donor involved someone who's buying multiple pianos for school we would obviously let them know about the fault or if they came to us and heard about the fault we would find someone with one of the fingers of power and led them into the ball for yes yes thanks yeah and both fingers works so this is the candle candle light it's called candle lighting is so much better for each vignette is different but when you do the full room there's a few different settings one for an event we have one for access tonight which glows red puff which is fine after Allen said the ball yes someone asked history behind a place my question was who can I give the vault so it was it was it was collaborative but I think the main the main person is my colleague Todd is our VP of Sales and Marketing it's not a brand new idea we talked about it for a number of years and wouldn't it be great if at the factory we had this special room we could you know have a vault door and put our special pianos and they're making sure it's you know lid well great acoustics and it finally came to fruition so we talked about it for a while and then about a little over a year ago we started seriously planning okay I'm gonna play [Music] the Lalique yeah so we had a partnership with a company like crystals so these are yes these are manufactured by Lalique and applied to the piano so it's a very unique partnership [Music] [Music] vignette number two designed by an insider by the name of Dakota Jackson and you'll see that this is a pretty aerodynamic the rim has been cut here but then there's this gives you some depth there's this silver piece that goes inside and that gives a nice feeling of depth that you you don't have on a standard piano yeah that's interesting also this is a sphere you are piano experior record all right so Spiro is a high resolution player piano but Spiro record allows you to actually record what you play full editing suite so you can add everything you can if you play a piece perfectly except you miss one note you can fix the one note [Music] [Music] yeah generally it's really beautiful it's a very good example of Santa's rosalinda's intros rosewood is a nice finish yeah this is you know I was mentioning how each tree is a little different so sometimes you'll get a flitch and the guys in the factory will see the flick ago this flick is phenomenal the grading on it it's just a beautiful looking wood and we'll make sure that one of the pianos from that foot gets into the vault because this is a place for very special Indians so yeah this is my favorite single example of a veneer that I've seen in my 10 years you [Music] [Music] [Music] you know if you look closely you can see there's a seam there but they match so closely that it looks beautiful and they match you know there's multiple pieces of veneer across this piano and they're matching it wherever they go so many hours of you know painstaking labor goes into making this piano look so beautiful yes right it's a nice wood because it has such a variation between the dark and the light both of these pianos more Saverio not recorded but these are standard area play and every crown jewel would finish piano we make today would have superior [Music] we're at the factory am I getting the regular play spare you or the recordable you're getting a regular play I believe yeah okay I'm excited I heard we sold the John Lennon piano so there was a John Lennon piano girl last week which we sold so it's been replaced already most my fans are asking about that instead what is duet when the lid is closed it looks entirely [Music] I see white and I think of c-major I don't know why I don't have to decision [Music] yes and then we have last but not least and Cruz at an Exhibition which is for sale for 2.5 million dollars the other cientos in this room are about a quarter of a million or less that's why it's too exclusive yes exactly so we're standing in front of the one that's the most expensive piano and actually when sold will be the most expensive ever sold Wow yeah and this was painted by a Steinway artist painted this over the course of almost four years so it's quite quite an operation yeah and this is based on of course the music sweet pictures at an Exhibition yeah but the artwork of Victor Hartman so Victor Hartman is featured on one side here of the music desk and then there's Moe decimas or ski on the other side they were good friends when Victor Hartman passed away they held an exhibition of all his work and Podesta mazurski attended this exhibition and was inspired by that exhibition to write the music but this piano incorporates all of the paintings of Hartman the cool thing is that some of these paintings exists in museums or private collections any of these paintings have been lost to history so we actually don't know what they look like and we only have the name of the painting or perhaps a little bit of a description on what they look like so in those cases Paul Wise has had to use his imagination and perhaps some of the descriptions that that he had to go on to recreate these paintings as he thinks they would have loved you look right here that's a self-portrait of Paul Weis himself from the back finishing up the piano oh this is you know a modern version of this pictures at an Exhibition you could by the dress of the people very honor but when you look through these archways you're looking back in time perhaps their to the original pictures at an Exhibition in Russia and then perhaps even further back in time on the inside the lid of the piano is the great gate of Kiev that is a painting by Hartman and it was actually at the time part of a contest by the Czar where they were going to construct this new great gate of Kiev and I believe Hartman's won the competition but this great gate was never built but it's one of his famous paintings another one of his famous paintings is the the catacombs of Paris and that's on the inside represented as you see all around the inside is all these frames you'll notice a little bit of glitter effect when you look at them that's from the actual oh you can see it yeah it picks it up and the legs the very unique legs are another painting of Hartmann which was Baba Yaga's in Russian folklore baba yaga is a witch and this is what she traveled around him and it has it was a hut with hens feet so it could actually get up and walk around there's three of them and it's based on the two-dimensional painting but he's created a 3d version of these [Music] in the middle of play lol gosh this is arse like a weird feeling of the fact that there's so much meaning and thought into this now it's normal lighting yes well that's the end thank you I'm gonna leave you to go to lunch okay you guys enjoyed looking around with me and I have to say I was actually a bit nervous about what to do with this video because I knew that the vault was very special and I wanted to be able to play the right pieces for the venue or the kind of atmosphere and the pianos as well so that was challenging but also probably the most fun part for me to play on all these really really nice pianos and figure out what would be the best piece to such ignorant characteristics it was a really really fun and special experience so I'm very honored to be one of the 10 or so people that entry has given tours for in this vault very excited to have one in my home soon a well not a 2.5 million dollar piano but a spear um yeah and then I will make more practice vlogs because I know a lot of you have been waiting for them I've been waiting to make them also but I wanted to make them on a nice piano so that will be coming soon excited to come back for the during tour I have some ideas of what I'm going to do and there's a strike anyway since I'm gonna be coming back make sure you leave your questions about the
