My old grad school creative writing professor! I learned a lot from him. I was there when he was doing this series and it was pretty neat.
EDIT: There's no fucking way I'd be able to write while being filmed.
It could do with a highlight reel of some sort, touching on the key points and highlighting his creative process. It was good to see him taking questions afterwards but even that dragged on.
tl;dw?
I watched all episodes a few months ago. Insightful and fascinating to see an acclaimed writer such as he struggle with his work and appear angry, forlorn and frustrated. As I write I remind my self, "do not abstract. do not analyze your prose,"
I'll bite. Thirty four fucking hours of writerly wankery? Navel gaze much?
That's one long short story.
Very interesting on this guys process for writing. He takes you in, word for word from the beginning.
