all right guys so manner Lords releases in a week and uh in anticipation of its release Slavic magic uh put out a statement a couple days ago I'm sure you've seen it but if you haven't already that goes into his definition of what Manner Lords is all about his vision for what it could be in the future and essentially laying out what it isn't right cuz a lot of people have expectations about it being kind of a total war killer or something that has a huge focus on Battle gameplay in this medieval setting when it isn't it really is uh priority wise much more focused on the citybuilding aspect the authentic kind of immersive gameplay of what it is to be a Manor Lord uh developing a plot of land into a thriving village town and then later on with future updates a bustling city right trading with other cities around it once there's like an AI functionality in the game uh either trading or actually going to war with them right uh or dealing with Bandits and you know seasonal weather effects that uh you know do things like disease and uh famine and things like that so there's plenty of great gameplay features that are yet to be seen in the game in its future right now we have a pretty good idea for how the city building looks what you can expect from the game when you get Early Access how the Medieval Warfare looks as well and I think we can all agree there's still lots of work to be done once the game releases there's going to be a long period of gathering feedback testing various new features and polishing and rebalancing there's lots more content to come I'm sure as well once it releases at least there's going to be a year of polishing refining and evolving the game to add those features that are still being worked on now what I really want to talk about in this video is the future of Mana Lords because in this end of the statement by Greg a couple days ago he mentions that he has no plans to release a road map and I really respect that I think road maps are a very fine line between trying to uh you know adhere to timelines of features and updates that you want to do and release in the future and the pressure of doing that the uh un unforeseen challenges that might come up when you're trying to do that and trying not to delay those updates and features and meet those player expectations in a timely manner like it's a very tricky thing to do to release a road map and stick to it I mean Total War in CA is a great example of that right with Warhammer 3 and everything but um yeah so you know he said that he doesn't want to release a road map I to I told totally respect that and regardless of whether he does that or not we still know that there are features that are probably very likely going to make their way into the game anyway one of those is definitely AI towns Villages and cities on the map other AI players that are developing other regions uh that you can engage with both in trade economically diplomatically and in a Warfare Conquest style way as well on The Campaign which should be quite cool we don't know where that is obviously it's still being tested because the option for it in the campaign customization section is locked so it's definitely something that's coming it is being tested and hopefully you know in the future when it is in it adds a nice bit of variety and replayability as well I think it's going to be a game changer to be honest to have ai players and other regions that you can engage with is going to make the game much more Fuller and to watch them grow their towns and Villages and to uh lovely little you know I'm sure there's going to be so so much interesting ways in the AI uh uh engaging with mechanics in the game it's going to be very cool what that leads to essentially is other features and updates that we're going to be able to see as well bigger better medieval cities as well with new buildings new uh trading Commodities new units that you can recruit obviously bigger cities means walls and Siege equipment to bring down those walls so there are lots of interesting ways in which the game will develop kind of naturally both on the city building side and on the medieval combat side as well I think a Step Beyond that a very natural step even in parallel to while all of this is being done in the game is having a more narrative style campaign right now manl Lords is very sandbox you get in there you start up a campaign build up a village that you basically grow your objective is to grow as large as possible and create as many trade Commodities as possible grow your population deal with Bandits and other rival Barons but there's not much of a narrative there's not much of at least at the very least a unique or dynamic system of events and choices that you have to make as the manor Lord that affect your population's well-being the growth of your food and production and trading and things like that there that just doesn't really exist at the moment you don't have Bandits raing your trade Roots you don't have Barons um claiming other territories and expanding in the map and challenging your uh territory right that doesn't quite exist yet in the game so having that kind of narrative um or unique Dynamic gameplay is also something that's yet to come for the game now what I'm leading up to here is two things once these features are in once you have an AI functionality that develops towns and Villages once you have bigger cities that develop into walls and Siege gameplay on the combat side as well and once you have Dynamic events and challenges that affect your population you know whether it's seasonal effects cold famine disease whatever it is uh once all of that is in the game I think there are two things that can happen which are very exciting and you know we we don't know really whether they're ever going to happen for the game but if they do they're going to add even more capabilities replay abilities for Manor Lords in the future the first is multiplayer of course everyone would love to see a version of the game in which you can get in there in servers play with up to you know four or five people friends in Co-op or head-to-head deal in trade economies trade with each other to develop beautiful towns watch each other build your Villages into towns into cities um in a very Cooperative way way of of course also in a head-to-head way as well being able to play together to either defeat other Barons or uh play against each other to uh try and dominate the map there's plenty of amazing opportunities in manner Lords once once all of these functionalities are in the game to actually play with other humans and players and and engage in more intelligent opponents to see how the game would actually evolve and develop into and to deal as I said with those Dynamic events to deal with other AI towns and cities and villages in a kind of like Age of Empires way I suppose there's lots of opportunities there as well so the first thing here that it can develop into absolutely is multiplayer we know that Slavic magic in the past has said he has no interest really in in putting multiplayer in the game but I think that once these other parts of the game are in there and they're polished and they're fairly functional enough it's definitely possible the second thing that is absolutely possible and I don't know if he has any plans I don't think Slavic magic has ever mentioned it in the past I'm not aware if he has or I'm not really sure if anyone's really talked about whether Manor Lords can have modding capabilities modding tools that are publicly available for people to take the game go into the code tweak various things here and there you know we have minor mods and major mods overhauls and Camera mods and graphical mods you know there are all kinds of things that you can do from a modding perspect perspective for for games and Mana Lords is absolutely no exception there are lots of amazing things that you can do with Mana Lords least of which I'm sure you're thinking about it is overhauling the game into new settings and new areas and new periods of history I mean uh to have a manl Lords mod that converts it into uh feudal Japan is something that I think a lot of people here are dreaming about or or converting it into a a different area of medieval Europe a different setting of medieval Europe having a desert landscape in a Crusades campaign in which you're starting off as a you know a little kingdom of Jerusalem and you've got a the the castle of Carrick and you're trying to defend against other Muslim uh settlements around other regions and you're trying to find you know resources because it's it's a desert climate climate it's so scarce like there are so many ways in which you can develop the game from a modding perspective as well and better yet there must be at least a few hundred people looking at Manor Lords right now and thinking I bet modding capabilities will happen sometime in the future here are some textures and models I can use from other games Total War or Banner Lord or whatever or ideas I can work on with teams of other modders to bring together people for you know a Roman era mod or a Lord of the Rings mod like the potential here is amazing for the game I can really only hope that Slavic magic has some sort of plans maybe in the future for modding tools to be released and that's it for today guys I just wanted to make a quick video about the potential future of Mana Lords all of this is speculation we don't have any sort of certainty or confirmation that anything really is going to happen but I think it's nice to have constructive interesting conversations about the direction in which the game might go in the future bigger cities AI cities uh potential Dynamic events and challenges that you might you might face as a player on the campaign uh as well as you know uh bigger features like multiplayer and potentially uh modding capabilities everything is quite open in terms of what might happen and uh I think if all of this happens it would make the game absolutely amazing and so replayable I really hope you enjoyed this video and found it informative if you did give it a like and drop any thoughts or questions in the comment section below I'd love to hear what you think about the future of man Lords what you think might happen in the near future you know the next one or two years updates you know AI functionalities all of that and what you would like to see beyond that with multiplayer modding capabilities what Aras you'd like to see settings everything I'd love to hear your thoughts subscribe to the channel for more manl Lord's content just like this and thanks for watching guys I'll see you next time [Music]
