Incredible LISBON, PORTUGAL Food Tour | Best Food in Lisbon 🇵🇹

and I really hope that crunch my mouth is really full right now I hope that crunch really comes across on video [Music] we are here in Lisbon Portugal and we're gonna do a food tour try out some of the best food here in Lisbon and see what it's all about all right our first stop on the food tour today is confeteria Nacional it's the oldest Bakery here in Lisbon and we're gonna stop in for some coffee and maybe a pastry [Music] it's good it's like the consistency of it almost like a muffin on the inside but with a lot of like sugar on the top and really flavorful [Music] to me this tastes like cornbread this is really good all right I'm gonna try our first PlayStation I thought in Lisbon I think I'm just gonna go at it with my Malibu [Music] it's really good you can see there's like a custard on the inside and it's delicious it's creamy it's like a pudding texture and then the outside is like a flaky pie crust type thing and it's delicious [Music] all right next up on our Lisbon food tour is Ginga sem reval it's a traditional shop here in Lisbon it's the second oldest in the city it was opened in 1840 and it has a special Cherry liqueur [Music] [Music] and we have the jinjinha here it's a like I said a cherry liqueur famous here in Portugal people must drink it all the time if it's open at eight in the morning until midnight it's supposedly medicinal and it dates back to the Middle Ages so I'm gonna see how it is here I'm really excited because there is a cherry inside that's gonna taste like a maraschino cherry and liquor form I'm not sure if it's medicinal but you can definitely taste the alcohol in it I'm sure after a few of these you could really feel it they're only 150 so it'd be easy to drink quite a bit all right we had to move it a little bit because they're actually doing their morning delivery here but I'm going to try out cherry on the inside hmm that's really good soaked in the liquor and you can tell exactly where they get I don't know that sweet cherry taste from that's really good I like that they put that on the inside [Music] next up on this Lisbon food tour is an absolute classic and must try when you're in Lisbon that is the bifana and there's no better place to have it than otrevo [Music] we're here at otremo I got the famous beefana just a pork sandwich that's been marinated for a long time and we need to eat it with Sheamus Peri peri's house as well as mustard looks just like a regular yellow mustard um [Music] it has a little spicy I really like it I haven't had anything like that in Germany or it's really in Spain that spiced but it's good the sandwich is simple the bread's nice I like the flour on top [Music] I'm gonna taste the porks a good tender it's really nice it's good and it's also a place that Anthony Bourdain came when he was here in Lisbon so check it out when you're here [Music] after that it was time for a little something sweet and we headed right around the corner we just picked up two different to try to do a little taste test here the first one is from a famous cafe called montigaria and the next one is from a vegan not the place a carioca which is right around the corner from plantaria in pyro Alto so we got him to go and we're gonna try them back to back so we can see I guess if there's a difference or which one we prefer each one for two take away was only 240. yeah so not a bad price um I'm gonna start with the montegaria they come little I think they put one on top of the other yeah there we go like this here we go [Music] oh wow okay so I will say this one compared to the one this morning that we tried tastes more cinnamony and like caramelized on top you can see the like caramelization here um it has a thinner crust and that pudding is just exquisite all right Mike's gonna give it a try he has good his own all right I have my own so we're not sharing oh wow that caramelization yeah it's almost caramely cinnamony if those are adjectives a little more sweeter than the one this morning I it's honestly way better I would say yeah and then the one this morning so maybe if you go to that place this morning the cafeteria nacion just get other get one of their other things that were really good but wow I don't know if you can hear this crunch on here hmm sorry it's probably a close-up of a disgusting bite and now my mouth is full but that is absolutely delicious now for the vegan one so here we go this one looks a little different in comparison a little more caramelization going on in the middle all right I'm gonna give this one a try sounds flakier okay this one is also really good it almost tastes more like a creme brulee um less cinnamony but still very delicious it's it's a different flavor because it's not as like eggy um but it's good all right I'm gonna give the vegan one a go it looks a little bit taller I would say and the other one but not quite as wide in diameter thank you creme brulee was good it's not quite as like caramelized I would say or some of those other flavors aren't coming through but I'd still say it it might be better than the one we had this morning I'm gonna say it maybe it's because these places are specifically known for the PlayStation it's good I think if you gave it to me and didn't tell me it was vegan I might not know a difference not a messy bite I will say overall I think that the non-vee one is better but like Mike said this one was just given to me this was like oh this is our past station not that wouldn't know yeah it's just not as like rich custardy I would say like with that egg but it's delicious it's really good I wouldn't know the difference so if you're in Lisbon and you're 100 vegan you have to get one of these and you're not going to really be missing out on the experience with it at all I'm gonna finish it now though and I really hope that crunch my mouth is really full right now I hope that crunch really comes across on video there's so many things to do and see in Lisbon that we actually headed 30 minutes outside of the center of the city near the Tower of LM and the monument to discoveries to try this Lisbon classic [Music] we got a passage de nata at paste this is apparently where they were invented so they kind of changed the name there a little bit there's only 130 so slightly cheaper than the other ones it says like the third one fourth one that we charges yeah the third or fourth one but apparently this is the original one here in Lisbon all right I'm just gonna go ahead and put some cinnamon on top because that was really good last time [Music] so this one's got cinnamon and powdered sugar on it all right looks delicious let's get ready to go I love that crunch um this one's pretty good I don't know I'm definitely Contender it's super flaky as you might have been able to hear um and the cinnamon and powdered sugar on top is a great Buffalo um [Music] I just wave bike here but that's really good I think like I don't know it's a little creamier than the other ones maybe a little bit more liquidy yeah where the other ones were the custard inside is a little bit thicker a little thicker yeah yeah I think this one's this one is really really good I think my favorite is still that yeah yeah that one's still my favorite one however this one's good if you're out here in Berlin in Lisbon make sure to get it that way you can try the original one I think it said founded in 1837 if I'm correct but 1837 all right yeah good memory um otherwise I'd recommend getting the ones back in town in Lisbon I wouldn't say you have to come out here to try it but it is good if you're out here you should get it to compare it [Music] next up was a trip back to the center of Lisbon to eat something a little more substantial and one of the most famous things to eat in Lisbon piri piri chicken the piri piri sauce is actually from the colonies the Portuguese had in Mozambique and Angola and it's something people still eat today in Portugal kitty kitty chicken here [Music] without the sauce [Music] that's good I know that plates are baked onto it and that's really good tender just kind of falls apart in your mouth and try a little bit now with the sauce on it I remember this from the bifana which was very spicy let's try this yeah [Music] that's all spicy that's really good put a little too much on but I really like that chicken's not my favorite but this is really good I would say a must get when you're here [Music] wow that was going to be the final stop on our little food tour we are gonna head up one more place later tonight [Music] [Applause] so we told you all earlier that we were going to come do one last stop and we came to scuppendo which is an all-vegan donut and ice cream place we actually did come here yesterday we got the ice cream and now we're here for the donuts because someone we met last night said that these were actually the best ones that they've ever had period so we have here the original glazed and then we got the apple crumble because that crumble just looks so delicious it was really difficult to choose because all their donuts looked really good and I honestly wanted to try them all I'm gonna give this original one a go [Music] I am you're gonna go get your own it looks like uh I don't know like a super Crispy Cream I would say yeah exactly that's what it reminds me of because it's just that like natural glaze but it's really thick oh yeah it's delicious I don't know like it's not a cake donut but it's like that Airy you know donut and it's oh my God it's incredible that's really good okay especially for just being traditional glazed it's really good so I'm really excited to try this special apple crumble one those crumbles look like outstanding just by themselves um it's an apple pie in a donut [Music] um all right now I definitely have to make sure I get some of this crumble you see his bite oh my god wow oh my God so we definitely recommend that you come to scubindo if you're in Lisbon yeah whether you're vegan or not come here get the donuts the ice cream was good as well you can get even I think like a donut Ice Cream Sandwich so maybe
