I'm DONE with Fishing Tournaments after THIS!!

we are in dire need of a fish we are not on our a-game today there he is there he is this is the moment of truth kind of making me nervous because fwc is sitting up there all right i think we are just about ready to rock it's tournament morning folks and it's not just tournament morning it is the tournament championship and we are sitting at the top of team of the year well we're actually in second because we didn't fish all the tournaments we should have fished all the tournaments we got to win okay we got a win potentially finished second anyways let's get rolling oh goodness this is a redfish tournament if you followed my tournament videos this year you've seen me and lance lance is my partner i think he's gassing up the boat right now or something anyways we're uh we're going to meet him right now but uh we have got to catch our two biggest redfish that's what we can weigh in and our two biggest redfish between 18 and 27 inches so we're looking for like 25 to 27 inch fish that that we can weigh in something like that so we got to put some juice in the old truck here folks i'm actually running late lance is going to be mad at me i'm thinking about selling this truck honestly normally i'ma drive it till the wheels fall off tight person and financially that's the best way to go however i think i'm just ready for a change we got a bunch of boats in the tournament today folks we better bring the a game you want me to untie you we are officially taking off right now we don't really have a game plan though unless lance has got some secret game plan that i don't know about we're just going fishing dude we're just going fishing man we're just gonna have a good time current is insane okay and that is i don't like that when i'm redfish in these spots i like it i like some current but i don't like current that's just like crazy and so but we're going to hit this structure first and just see if we can pull one out of here we're gonna have to get lucky i didn't realize the current was gonna be this bad this is this is awful i mean dude they were literally here the other day we're gonna try we're gonna try a little jetty fishing real quick because there have been some fish here and we need to put fish number one in the boat all right that is crucial in every spot we've stopped at thus far has not produced you almost don't even need to work it just throw it and let her rip down the jetty right here well folks we had to make a drastic change okay we hit every piece of structure that we know in pensacola and the deep water stuff and our fish had left the building we literally did not get a bite and that's how deep water fishing goes sometimes and we had fish on lockdown and they just weren't there so we had to come to the flats and now we're going to do some sight fishing um we were not expecting this is that was a curveball that they threw at us there and so we got to do something different look at him that is a big fish right there yes there's one yep i see nice i just choked i just screwed up guys there's another one right here there's another one there's another one let me get on i just choked on a fish that is how this day is going thus far watched him eat sight fished him and just didn't get a hook in him i don't know this is how the days go we need there's one there's one there's one let's see if he'll come over to it right there i don't know i would throw though because there's gonna be like i always see fish around right there right there right there right there didn't he isn't that him that looks like him and he skedadd he got out of dodge well guys we are uh we're really doing it to him right now we need some mojo we need some mojo i've choked on two fish so far probably gonna get an opportunity to choke on a third right here oh yeah he didn't eat he didn't eat i don't think it was a big one man this water is beautiful folks but we are in dire need of a fish we have we have pulled hooks missed fish spooked fish we're just we are not on our a-game today for some reason so maybe our luck we got to stay optimistic all right maybe our the day will turn around i think yep there he is there he is we got him we got him baby yes sir yes sir oh yeah get the net get the net dang i cannot believe that oh we finally got him just when i got through saying that he may be too big you don't think so that's a perfect fish oh my gosh perfect fish i think come on baby get the net get the net all right let's measure him guys if this one measures this is like the most perfect fish 27 on the dot dude get the day get the live well going he's 27 on the number guys you all have no idea we have been going and going and going and literally one fish cruising right at us i sight fished he is the perfect fish for tournaments i'm gonna show him to you right here he's in the well we got to get him up right though he is in the well ready to rock and roll we got to catch one more fish as i said it's our biggest two fish and that is as big a fish as we can catch in our slot limit here in the state of florida we got to keep trucking man he he was by himself but he looked different in the water he was solid black that's how you can tell these big fish from these little dinks we're running over oh dang it dude i thought he ate look look he turned he's looking he's looking for food i'm telling you there you go there you go right there all right let me swim over you let him swim over here all right all right pop it pop it pop it pop it no he's not he's right on you there's more than one too dude there's two more there's two more let's stop right here there's two more look at them look at them right there guys we are looking right now at two really good fish and i think alright sucks man he just wasn't hungry he wasn't a hungry one all right let's use that way around it and see if we can find where those other fish is fish no it's mullet but there's fish on the eye yeah there it is there's a big school so let's go deep there's a big school no no no no there's some right here i see the one you're you're talking about that's okay where's he going all right catch him catch him catch him damn those are good ones right there dude there he is we got him we got him baby that's a 27. that's a 27. he's riding the bu he's running me under the boat that's a fine fish right there if he's not too big why you so negative sir oh my gosh come on no i got it i got it i got it you're good no he's he's longer isn't he look how short he's she's he's a little long man just a hair telling you he's a hair long i'm telling he's 28. what do you think yeah lee wait a minute wait what what are you doing huh his nose hold on hold on hold on do they have to his nose is pounding the can't pound it just let it sit it's gonna be at an angle does he measure he measures but they're going to pinch the tail no you run this to 26 inches he measures brother guys we can't tell if the fish is too big or if he makes it we we literally cannot tell he's right on the 27 inch mark and so we're keeping him and just hope we may get knocked we may get knocked but so let me stop the video just for a second explain to you what exactly is going on so in the state of florida a redfish has to be between 18 and 27 inches so obviously in a tournament it has to be that size as well and this fish was the most perfect tournament fish i believe i've ever caught in a redfish tournament on an artificial lure he was on the 27 inch mark and it was very very hard to tell if this fish was was legal or not legal he was so close like you could not tell like like one marine patrol might give you a ticket and another marine patrol might say no you're good to go like he was so close so we elected to keep the fish because we did think he was legal and take our chances but we were really nervous that the fish was going to get bumped at the weigh-in oh my gosh folks we are so close so close to winning this tournament like you have no idea we if this fish measures which we're not a hundred percent sure he's going to um like it's just a very interesting situation and we'll see what happens guys i just hooked up on another one right here and he looks to be perfect he looks to be perfect what do you think lance it's a good one he may be a little long but i don't know huh we'll know shortly he looks good though get him cool he's too old he may be too big guys he may be too big we're gonna put him on the measuring stick right here oh he's way too big he's way too big we got to release him folks he's 28 and we just got to keep fishing we're headed to the weigh-in right now this is going to be one of the most nerve-wrecking weigh-ins that i've ever been to one of our fish is like right on the legal limit we're pretty nervous it's gonna be close so we'll catch up with you here at the weigh-in this is the moment of truth all right we just made it back and it's kind of making me nervous because fwc is sitting up there so if we do have an oversized fish they could get us for that as well so we're we'll see that's big boy yeah i can see that that's big boy that's not so big all right let's go all right folks moment of truth here it should be over six six three two all right cool all right somebody will take them you're gonna have to you're gonna have to use your little thing on this one [Music] let's put it that way very nice seven one eight there we go all righty all right we're gonna let them go there he goes there he goes it's low tide all right appreciate it you never know all right overall tournament yeah second place is brent lance with 13 and a half pounds even i get it [Music] thank you sir first place alex and david with 13.96 [Music] so that is a wrap and we are officially done with tournaments for 2020 that's the final tournament and this was a series that we fished and it was a four tournament series and we made a mistake and only fished three of the tournaments for some reason we were unavailable for the fourth one so that's one of the reasons we didn't have a shot at team of the year if we would have fished that fourth tournament and won uh we would have gotten team of the year if we'd have finished any if we'd even placed at all we'd have finished second in team of the year but instead we just screwed up anyways nonetheless the three tournaments that we did fish we finished second place first place second place so i say we had a pretty good year with the tournament series if you want me to continue tournaments in 2021 shoot me a thumbs up because i'll be happy to do what i like fishing them other than that guys me and melanie it's our anniversary this week so i'm going to take her down to south florida and we're going to do a little trip down there and try
