I'm BACK! In A 2023 VOLVO!!?? Truck Tour!

okay so maybe that's kind of no that's just storage up there I got a sunroof bro I got a sunroof I got a son what is up guys Dave back again for another truck and blog and uh oh my God it has been so long since I have said that it's been so long boys it's been months since I've uploaded a video and it's been even longer since I made a video because I uploaded some stuff that I had already filmed so yeah but as you saw from the title of the video I'm in a Volvo a 2023 Volvo first time ever driving a Volvo I just got to this shop slash terminal here in Dublin Virginia and as you can probably see from the truck next to me I am driving for online transport this is my truck right here that I just got assigned I just picked up and yeah God this feels weird this feels really weird to be doing this again but new company man no longer CFI I have not driven for any other trucking companies other than CFI this is the first one and I am super excited man I am going to be home every weekend I'm a regional driver for online transport I'm actually on their South Division which will Encompass several States I'm going to be running Ohio Indiana Tennessee Kentucky Mississippi Alabama Florida South Carolina North Carolina Virginia and West Virginia I think that encompasses it all they did say sometimes you may go to Texas which probably means Louisiana also and then sometimes you may go to The Dakotas so that's like sometimes but it's not technically my region uh but yeah I will be home every single weekend as a truck driver and that is just something insane to think about because I have never been home that much so let's take a look inside now guys I just loaded my stuff in here I literally started this video the moment that I just threw everything in my truck so this is what we see when we step in she was really clean um a guy that was here he's like a trainer and whatnot he uh actually came in and showed me how to turn on the Apu and stuff and we had some of this dirt and everything on our feet so it got a little bit on the ground but they cleaned it up very nicely no issue here with cleanliness of this truck they did a really good job so I was really happy about that because as you all know I've had some bad experiences with new trucks before but the steering wheel is so low man I can't even like slide my legs underneath it dude they're just like and I do know there's a pedal down here you can press and then that's as high as it goes though it's still a tight fit because I'm short as you all know and I like to kind of sit up higher because I'm short but then my legs get really close to this so kind of sucks oh the life of being short boys you know what I mean and girls anyways um so we are in a freaking Volvo dude look at this thing it is actually nice in here I mean here's my uh clothing drawer here this is a third freaking truck tour I've done or is it like the fourth yeah because I did the Freightliner I did my first CFI truck I did the Freightliner and then I did the second CFI truck and now I'm doing this one so it's four but this is pretty uh standard kind of like the Kenworth he had a couple of slots here I usually kind of threw some socks in one of these and um you know whatever some hats in the other one and stack your clothes up in here that's cool up here uh you got like a TV mount which is pretty cool so I guess you can just watch the TV up here and everything up here I'm assuming is your microwave um got some AC outlets on this one my second CFI truck and my Freightliner did not have the AC Outlets I love that I got those so uh that's really nice um the inverter I think is underneath the bunk when I was looking I was loading some stuff in there uh but yeah they said the seats sucked the trainer I was talking to he was like yeah you're gonna see these seats really suck and yeah it's not the most comfy but you know what it's not much different than the Kenworth that I had so it's fine you know it is what it is I'm used to it I'm used to these crappy seats man um it's weird the gear shifting is right here well there's no gear shifting it's automatic you know what I mean but your reverse neutral drive and then manual if you wanted to manual shift is here um but it's weird that it's right there because you know my mind before was on the column here so it's weird to have that uh this truck like I said is a 2023 it actually has a 93 000 miles on it so it's not a brand new truck but it is very newer you know 93 000 miles on a truck isn't anything so it's uh in really good shape there's a little bit of external damage on it not much but I already did a video walk around it's raining right now I ain't getting out in this and showing y'all but there was like a crack on the steps down here and then a couple scuffs on the right with like a small dent but it's nothing major it's not bad um but yeah the guy told me he said the guy who had it before whatever got hit by a FedEx truck so yeah that's that but yeah 93 702 right there yeah air condition controls here everything up here uh Hill assist the fifth wheel uh mud snow you know traction control is what that is fifth wheel sliding so it does have a sliding fifth wheel um I need to look uh where exactly it's at I went back there and looked at the fifth wheel but I didn't know when I looked if it was a sliding fifth wheel or not so I need to check that out um and your differential lock so all that's there I'm just finding all this stuff out with y'all because I haven't really looked yet so I'm new as well look at this door this is how you open the door what what is this this is soap that's how you open it like you know usually got like a little handle or something no not Volvo we're gonna have like a freaking shift knob what if I go forward oh that's how you lock it whoa whoa whoa it's the coolest thing I've ever seen in my life um anyways we got a little slot up here for some stuff 12 volt right here so we can uh plug in something do we have a 12 volt down here yeah we do down here okay good because from like my GPS and a lot of other things I got oh there's 12 volt right here too and they got plugs all over two USB ports right here I have my ELD they actually gave it to me in orientation before I came to get the truck so we got 12 volts we got some big old drink holders right here um is this coming off this is kind of jacked up oh well I ain't worried about that but how do I oh or does it have a glove box maybe it doesn't have glove box maybe it's just up here because a lot oh this there we go okay so maybe that's kind of no that's just storage up there I got a sunroof bro I got a sunroof I got a son oh I got a sunroof boys damn that's what's up I didn't even expect I told you I'm finding this all out along with y'all okay I did not I barely looked at this truck I threw my stuff in here grabbed my GoPro and I freaking popped in here okay and yes I like club crackers but anyways that's I just had to make an editing cut because I just cussed unknacked or naturally I guess because i'm unnatural when I talk on YouTube naturally I cuss like a sailor but anyways I'm so freaking excited that I have a freaking sunroof that is awesome look at all what is it what do you put up here here's a little bitty lip here but anyways yeah so yeah guys anyways um there's a whole bunch of storage up here kind of like the Freightliner hat whole bunch of extra storage up here they really make use of this area up here which a lot of trucks Don't as much so you got this big Cabinetry area you got this big cabinet here you got your TV mount and I guess you could store some stuff up here kind of um you got this uh I don't have a refrigerator do I or do I what is this nope not a refrigerator more storage underneath the wiser pills down here it looks like some Pepto-Bismol pills but there's definitely pills down here I don't like pills being in my semi truck what are these they're little pink pills what is it four four three two nine let's Google it 44329 pink pill we gotta make sure we got something about truck that ain't supposed to be in my truck it's different hydramine hydrochloride so it's basically like Benadryl is basically what it is I figured that's kind of what it was I don't know it's some type of form of Benadryl or something but you know what we're gonna Chuck this out because I don't need no pills up in my truck for the old D.O.T to be like what's these little pink pills here sunny in there like I'm like I don't know man it wasn't mine this Lush driver that had this oh yeah sure it was sunny ain't gonna believe me by the way before anybody trying to say dude you're literally could have went thrown in the garbage can they're pills they're biodegradable it's going to disintegrate and be gone in freaking a day okay so get off my case Tree Huggers anyways um yeah so here's my bed I can't tell if this bed is uh used or not I mean it doesn't look like it's brand new but it doesn't look dirty either so I don't know if it's a brand new mattress it was not wrapped so I imagine it isn't the good news is I have a mattress at my house I'd rather use anyways like a nice one that I bought that I uh you know had in my other truck I took it out so I probably will swap these I'll probably take this one and just throw it up here or something because this is the top bunk God this is horrible if you were a student and had to sleep on this absolutely horrible but you gotta do what you gotta do for the job right and then we got uh the side windows here oh I like that that's pretty cool actually and I can open this for a little bit of airflow nice nice very nice Volvo very nice yeah I like this because remember the the uh the Kenworth had the little flaps and stuff so this is actually really nice little speakers here got some extra lights here um yeah I guess that's about it I don't really notice anything else got the air vents but there sure ain't nothing working oh you got two more AC Outlets here for the TV um let's look what's up here actually I didn't look oh I got a little oh they got little handles right here to lift up on and then you got two slots just like the Kenworth did I really need this many seat belts guys do we really need this many straps oh there's not one up here oh there's a little cubby hole up here that's where oh yeah it's a little hidden storage area up here oh so there you go guys that is it I bought this oh oh and I bought this little uh thing here too and I'm glad I did because I was looking oh it's a zip tied I was looking at online at the inside of Volvo's because I knew what kind of truck I was getting and I didn't see that there was any desk or anything to put like my laptop on for like editing or whatever I want to do so I was like I better get something that I can use because it doesn't look like it has anything I don't think this comes down does it I know if this thing come down as like a little desk now there's really wait was this nope nothing it's another slot there's so many little slots around here so I bought this today at Walmart on my way to get this truck and I'm so glad I did because this could literally just set up right here and uh once it comes up it'll be you know it'll be better because it's obviously gonna be up here and it'll be a nice little thing for me to kind of do my editing right here I can sit on the bed and bada bing bada boom so I'm so glad I bought this because this video I'm about to freaking edit and all you guys are gonna see it like a couple days after I uh filmed it but I am gonna edit on this thing here with my laptop so yeah so there we go guys Dave is back it's been many months sorry about the weight guys um I guess I'll kind of explain why there was such a long wait um honestly I was looking for the right company for me you know what I mean I uh wasn't trying to get too hasty in joining a company um I was looking for a company that would keep me mostly out of the Northeast because I don't really like doing the Northeast very much it's kind of a lack of parking up there and as you all know it's all just condensed down so much it's like city after city after City anyways I'm just not a big fan of it it's fine if I go up there here and there but I don't want a freaking Northeast Regional route you know what I mean it's not what I wanted so I was like I want to find somewhere that'll keep me either in the midwest or the South or whatever and um you know it's kind of hard to find living in Ohio a lot of people want you to be in the Northeast so I was taking my time trying to find the right company that would give me two days off a week and that would also uh keep me out of the Northeast and so I found online transport they said that they would pay 60 cents a mile so I'm now up to 60 cents a mile which before with CFI I was at like was it 47 or 48 something like that so I'm at least getting a 12 cent raise uh moving with this company they're going to keep me within what's called their South Region and I told y'all when I there's a cat right up there trying to get up in the uh he just dropped down into the big waistband there was a cat I wonder what happened if I snuck over there and just put my head over the side and was like hey buddy let's go do it let's go do it all to finish telling y'all everything else later this is a once in a lifetime opportunity he's gonna freak out when I go over there though all right we gotta be quiet guys cat's got good hearing quiet he hopped out let's wait for him to go back in oh he's looking around well he's just gonna sit on the thing hey kitty kitty what you doing little buddy nope nope nope dang it uh we read successful he came back out and so I was just trying to see if he was a Friendly Kitty or not but he was definitely scared he's peeking his little come here I got some food for you come here come here come here now he is not happy okay guys anyways let's get back on track here while we're trying to go sneak up on a cat for fun I was just gonna poke my head over and be like hey buddy that's all I was gonna do but anyways um yeah guys so I was looking for the right company for me you know that paid good money got me home two days a week for a little bit more of a work home life balance uh Billy Joe also started with a new company a different company though she's not working here at online um and she's also off two days a week so we both have our two days a week off now um you know we really needed that to have somewhat of a normal life so we're pretty excited about that and yeah everything is going great so I was really happy I went to orientation for this company everybody was super nice man it's definitely like a you know like a smaller company feel type thing to it than CFI was you know CFI like you kind of know you're working for a mega carrier and it kind of feels that way you know what I mean but when I came here it was just a totally different feel you know what I mean like I called my dispatcher and he tells me you know hey man I just want to let you know we're very laid back here if uh there's anything you don't like any certain way you want to run anything that you know you don't agree with you talk to me tell me we'll get it fixed we'll work with you he's like we're very laid back you can run how you want you can you know long as you get your job done you're good he's like we'll leave you alone so um I've been told by an old driver here uh when I was in orientation that now is an office worker he was like they leave you alone here man he said they're not gonna mess with you as long as you get your stuff done you know obviously if you're screwing up you got to get a call but as long as you're doing your stuff they're going to leave you alone they're not going to micromanage you and um yeah like I said the pay is great for me I mean I have not made anything more than 47 48 cents a mile so I'm super happy about that um that's a big raise uh they did tell me they could keep me busy here it's no problem in this area this is their specialty area that I'm in you know what I mean I think their main terminals in Indiana Indianapolis they got this tournament they got this terminal here in uh Dublin Virginia and I think they got a terminal down in uh Knoxville Tennessee and uh maybe one or two more I can't remember where else they had them at but they're all around this area that I'm gonna be running and uh yeah it was just super nice atmosphere and orientation and talking to the dispatcher and everybody else everybody's been super friendly super helpful and I just I got a really good feeling about this company guys like I have not driven for them yet I just got my truck I have not done a single load and I won't until tomorrow but I feel good about it man I'm glad to be back I was super excited to make this video I was like God I haven't said like what is up guys Dave my game for another truck blowing a long time so I was super excited about it man um and we're in a Volvo I'm just going along what's next Peterbilt you know maybe they tell me I'm switching trucks later and they throw me in a Peterbilt and then I can you know just uh only have what international Mac and maybe like Western Star or something and then I've driven almost all the trucks I know there's some more but you know what I mean that's the gist of it but anyways guys yeah I don't know what else to say man I'm in the truck I'm about to unpack all this stuff get it all where it needs to go the next one will be me actually taking this truck to go get a load I don't know if I'm gonna pick one up here I'm gonna go somewhere to get a load bobtail I don't know what's gonna happen probably have to hook up to an empty or whatever and then yeah we're gonna be Off to the Races we gonna be trucking and yeah boys I'm pretty excited about it so as always man thank you all for watching thank you all for
