I'm BACK HOME in the PHILIPPINES

[Music] [Music] i've done something slightly crazy but something i've done before which is i've booked a flight home i'm going back to the uk look philippines is my home the through orbits i'm not going to blame the philippines for what happened to me but my flight it's a rank trip i'm i'm gonna go back and fight another day that day starts now good morning i've got to go get swapped but first i heard my favorite old breakfast cafe's opening up again for takeaways there's a bin in front of me i thought was a person never mind um yeah then it's swab test then i'm gonna hide in my house until i get a result so i think that's what you're meant to do right they vandalized my favorite piece of graffiti thank you very much [Music] i don't normally walk on this side of the river but i will today on the other side that's the millennium stadium which is or the principality stadium is now known um that's the national stadium of wales football rugby when they close the roof on this it keeps all the sound inside best atmosphere in the world [Music] so that's what you get i've gotta find somewhere to do it myself swap myself there's some parks nearby which is gonna look weird but i don't care [Music] this well there's a church here since celtic times so millennia but this one's been here since the 12th century [Music] burnt destroyed war all kinds of things have got the roof in and things like that but the actual structure 12th century well not this bit in front of me i'm just trying to find somewhere quiet and private so there's no people around i mean i've seen some of the swabbing boots in the philippines they're just open air behind plastic a lot of the time so i'm not too concerned about that as long as i clean up after myself and here's the tap and so i spotted my best option a bench knowing that a swab test wasn't the worst thing that's ever happened on a park bench in cardiff [Music] i know i don't really have much choice with this i can't do it inside the pharmacy i can't really take it home and come back because once i've taken it i'm not meant to do us due to any journeys i'm in another city you know this is what's in the box anyway so open up swabs in a little tube to put it in a bag i think it's i have no idea how anything works believe me [Music] well i woke up this morning to two emails in my inbox and bear in mind my flight is tomorrow so the first one well the second one which i read first was at 4 00 am i'm i'm negative so that's good i'm negative yes i'm always negative then i find an email at 1 am from qatar airway airways we have cancelled your flight i said what ah so as soon as the thing opened the call center opened at nine o'clock i called them sorted it he said to me he said the london doha leg's fine it's the doha manila and they've already moved me once on that flight they had they had a look around and he said to me said look there's no flights available that can take you into manila but he said oh i can i can get you on a flight into cebu is that all right um but this is any and then oh but there's going to be this layover going to dab and i said look i'm not going to make that flight to tap out i've got a quarantine at which point it all became very relaxed so i'm i'm gonna go quarantine in cebu now instead unless they change it again which would not surprise me at all but yeah let's see here we go gotta pack my bags that's probably a good idea let's work that out [Music] big question of course is the weight 25 kilos i have pretty much bang on 25. thought about having something spicy but then i realized i've got many hours on planes tomorrow so no not doing that should have just gotten my dress no spice at all in that one i just remember when i left the country in 2013 my last meal was a madras from there and it burned my insides out it's even spicier than usual so i i i remember that was a one-hour flight this is i think about 20. you [Music] keep left onto wayfarer road then turn left this part took almost an hour because they had to check my documents thoroughly but all was good in the end normally one of the busiest airports in the world today even the pubs closed very very quiet not many flights today at everywhere is closed all the luxury shops are closed they'll be booked on cheap rather all closed duty free half hope i mean one and a half hours it took to just check in because of the document checks almost there [Music] thank you very much [Music] um 32 8. [Music] all in all a fairly uneventful quiet flight i had chicken biryani which was really good and made up for the lack of spice yesterday and then saw this awesome sunset over well i have no idea where before landing a little bit late into doha which was really really busy but my luck was about to change so i just got to the desk and they said oh oh sir you've been upgraded to business i'm excited i've never filmed business before in my life [Music] it's like a special land they've never been down here ever before except this is weird [Music] these seats even go totally flat like a bed i mean yesterday morning i woke up and i didn't have a flight at all and i've come to business class so qatar you're forgiven i watched top gear driver multi-cab with some nazi goring before having some port and cheese that i normally couldn't afford [Music] so this is actually how bright it is outside it's about two thirds it's 2 30 in the afternoon really good so far just too much food for me i can't eat at all and i'm still giggling like a kid like like i've never flown before in my life this is what you do when you review a flight night you sit in the toilet and talk i think [Music] foreign it's okay it's okay okay [Music] [Applause] hey mom my um so the swapper will get one of these okay yep okay thank you [Music] find your bag here good luck then you have to register at department of tourism and they'll tell you if your shuttle's available and then they'll take you to it eventually via customs bit of a process bit of procedure but i was in and out in about an hour [Music] before i do anything else i got the right time of day that's a really nice view and the window's open i was going to say i could fly a drone out of that but i'm far too close to the airport i did a room tour last night and in my sleep-deprived travel state it was awful so i'm going to do it again this is where i'm staying for the next seven days i'll show you the bathroom first just there bathtub that's posh the flush works and the holy grail of hotel rooms does it work everything works in this hotel it's good right what's outside that's a safe don't ever let me do that again mirrors mirrors oh yeah this place big bed you know there's enough space here and if i go mad i can run around here last night i commented on the aircon being 16 degrees which is about right which tells you i need to get used to the heat again i'm going pasty as well i need to get my tan back and then we have the view of a cebu i've set up my desk you know um before i booked this i had a look at some of the reviews and there were three or four there complaining oh there's a squatter's area below this and i thought what kind of human being complains about there being a squatter area behind a wall but in the view of their hotel they're not concerned about it being next to it no it's the you've got a view over the squat area i don't like people like that because i can see the bridges i can see people swimming at the bottom they're all swimming at the bottom going in boats having a good life so i think these people are happier than the ones who are complaining about you know there's a couple of kids on top of a roof down there waving at me very happy to see me telling me hey come down come down like what's the signal for i'm in quarantine where can i talk celia stuff i mean there's this royal chair that i'd love to use but but the lights no good if i use the royal chair ah i'm gonna sit here how do i look here apart from a walking advertisement for jim beam there we are so yeah i'm back which might surprise a few of you because i i said on my last vlog 6 to 12 months of treatment and the good thing about my treatment is i can do it on zoom so i can do it anywhere in the world and that's great because this is the thing the the uk for me is kind of it was a safe haven place and when i look back now about why i left in the first place and went there the reasons were still correct safe haven that was my place in a time of crisis and i needed that but i've done enough treatment in the last few weeks when i was back that if i had a crisis i can at least steer myself away for a good amount of time you know what i'm i'm out of the depth i'm out of the real real times i'm not i'm not down there at the moment what i did was the right thing to do this kind of period of time about two months two to three months is about right a safe haven's great but you don't grow in a safe haven you survive i'm not looking for survival i'm looking for growth and i'm looking to really make the most of life with these new skills as a taught to be honest if i stayed there much longer it would just hold me back it wouldn't be that effective if you break your leg and someone's going to say it's not the same and of course it's not the same it's a leg and a mind yes but if you break your leg well first of all you get operated on and it goes in a cast it stays in like but you don't leave it in that cast forever because of course it would it would stop it growing back properly after that also you need all kinds of physical therapy all kinds of treatment you have to keep going back and back to check its healing correctly like i said there's six to 12 months of treatment and i've only done two so i'll continue that but in the right environment for now i'm not totally healed i'm healing but i'm in the right place like i said i'm i'm really gonna fight another day yeah seven days here then on to davao for i really don't know how long different rules in different places they keep changing but as you can see from my eyes which uh jet lag guys i woke up at 3 30 this morning weird and you know what i'm gonna keep making content in the philippines because you guys have really supported me so much through my own little journey and through the few months i've been making content i've really really appreciated the support so thank you so so much for that and i don't know my brain's not working oh there's a boat why am i so excited there's a boat and i can't go near it
