IKEA BLACKOUT CURTAIN | $100 budget + tips & tricks

hi guys so we have another project come shop with me we're going to ikea and we're buying blackout curtains i want to put blackout curtains because it keeps the sunlight out which is the main purpose it'll keep our room dark so i can sleep through the night for those who don't know in the summertime sun sets later at night like 10 11 ish so it's really hard to stick to your bedtime schedule when it's still bright outside i don't mind waking up early but going to bed while the sun is out is quite challenging okay so let's grab what we need the curtains brackets curtain rod and the finials that comes up to 94 bucks plus taxes a total of 105 okay let's get to work do i couldn't stand how wrinkly it is i need to steam it just to get the creases out and i'm using this conair steamer okay here's the story it actually retails for 135 bucks but then we only got this for 70 dollars from facebook marketplace the guy sold it because he's moving into a smaller unit and he doesn't have any storage for it it's still in perfect condition when we bought it so that's a good steal right [Music] do you guys know about the toilet paper roll trick i know some of it looks kind of gross because i couldn't completely remove the white stuff anyway instead of taking the whole curtain down we just cut the empty tubes open and place it in between the pleats [Music] now let's put it to test i got my blinds down and close the curtains and you'll see how it darkens our room and boom it's pitch black good night [Music] good morning it's seven in the morning and this curtains did an excellent job of blocking out the light i am happy with my purchase and i noticed that it maintains the temperature of the room so that's a plus [Music] you
