I Went to This Year's Giant Overland Expo & Discovered That BIG & CLASSIC Trucks Are Super Popular!

hey guys welcome to the overland expo here in flagstaff arizona and if you were watching a couple months ago maybe it was a month ago you know that i was in colorado doing a very similar video where we did a walk around of the overland west expo well this is the granddaddy of maul this is the one that started it this is the overland expo in flagstaff and so we're gonna do is we're gonna do a quick walk around well not quick hopefully find some cool cars some cool trucks meet some cool people look at some cool products and we're just gonna kind of freewheel it just see what there is a seat i'm starting here at the ram pavilion because ram brought me out here to drive the trx but we got to drive it someplace cool we got to drive it at cinders which is our cinder hill which is an old volcano where you get to drive in the crater and then try to drive it out of the crater and a lot of people are afraid to go into the crater of the volcano because it takes so much power to then come out of it because you're basically driving on well what is old lava and so the trx had no problems that video is coming up i still have to edit it or the team has to edit it but that's why i'm starting here in the ram pavilion to show you kind of uh what they're featuring uh and one of the things they're featuring is uh this rebel which has been done up of course as an overlander of course everything here is done up as an overlander otherwise it wouldn't be the overland expo uh and like i said i do love this color it's got the ubiquitous rooftop tent high lift jack those things are scary to use especially on a full-size truck looks like there is a let me look let me show you i think that's a solar panel this is a camera up there so if it's up there let me know i can't see and of course you've got you know the typical over landing rig with the awning here we have the barn style doors which are actually really handy for over landing your refrigerator and then if you've caught and you want to cook some fish don't cook me don't cook me throw me back throw me back or are they trout you're welcome to do that in this setup it's pretty cool uh my favorite thing about it i think is the color uh i do like the integrated step down here i also like these little uh are those rigid i can't see i can't tell rigid industry lights how they integrated in the bumper i think that's pretty slick you know when the manufacturers uh make these uh they spend a lot of money on them uh the road shower is pretty cool too uh if you're gonna go off roading and over landing a road shower is a nice touch and of course like any proper overlanding rig the more lights the merrier so let's let's just count for and giggles one two three four five six seven eight nine ten eleven twelve out here a couple days ago oh nice where's the rest of the gangs uh you know i'm here the other team members are holding on the ford back in colorado so tommy went and drove a porsche off-road earlier this week really so i got to go drive the trx off-road so we kind of split that up yeah anyways nice meeting you guys i got i'm recording so normally i would like if you do it quickly we could watch alaska i guess i get are there he was in alaska or is that a thing that that non-alaskan people say uh so obviously it built tacoma pretty popular now of course the gladiator has become extremely popular popular for over landing especially the rubicon this guy looks like he's rolling at least on 35s uh arb setup and the newest hottest kid in town has got to be this it's the bronco and we saw it i'm not going to feature this guy because we saw this guy he was uh the arab build uh in colorado so if you want to see a close-up of that rig just head on over to the other video but you know one thing i've super been i've been really been interested in is not of course once again the gmc canyon at4 concept once again featured in the other video but i've been really interested in these black series campers oh oh and of course that that's the newest color for the tacoma so if you're into jelly beans or into crazy colors that's the 2022 color and last time i saw this truck that was the only one in the world so yeah i've always wondered about these black series yes i'm sorry i didn't sorry about that i thought you suck at me hello hey i'm recording a video do you mind if i uh get some information on the on these uh campers i'm roman i don't have to get you the right guy for that all right who's the right guy who's the right man yeah i think i get the right guy if it's higher than obviously you know if you uh want to live outdoors bringing the outdoors in is really nice uh and then of course keeping the indoors in with the big tv is uh so it's so nice being here because the people here are just super nice uh really chill uh and you know i'm kind of ambushing people really i'm just kind of showing up and saying hey show me around uh and so you know it's nice for them to to be part of this um recorded video and i'm not editing this because part of the fun is actually you know not knowing what's coming up and so it's pretty cool so i like the uh outdoor kitchen uh it's pretty cool slides in yeah i like that and of course uh here we have our refrigerator this is a little smaller unit let's take a peek inside here someone's in there [Laughter] oh thanks appreciate it well thank you i've always been interested in your in your uh in your trailers you know so what do you want to do you want it outside inside yeah just kind of walk talking about talk to you about them would you oh i guess can you do that too thank you very much so where are you guys based out of we're based out of southern california in the city of industry okay yeah so we that's where you get the units coming in and we do the rest of the construction um there in city of industry and then once they're done then we'll send them out to all our dealerships so right here is our local dealership which is thomas campbell you know it's cool every time i like see one either you know in the wild it always looks really rugged so you know what separates these from the plethora i mean you got to talk about the the solid um chassis right off the bat um it's a hot dipped galvanized steel chassis and it's a single piece i say single piece when it says single piece it starts at the very front and comes all the way to the back there's nothing else welded to it to give you your draw bar it's a single piece all the way back so it's solid it's hardcore it's going to take you where you got to go and you don't have to worry about bending breaking or causing damage to your your your chassis and then you have the frame for the house the frame for the house is all welded aluminum there's no wood in the frame that's nice so when you when you push on the wall it's like i you can't move the wall you know yeah maybe you like a little bit if you're really pushing yeah but you go to most other trailers and they have aluminum siding and you're like push you're like oops you know you're like crinkling the metal and stuff but it's solid it's a solid frame like that it's welded aluminum with no wood in our frame so that's all the way around it's not pop riveted it's not pressed together it's welded and then on top of that to give you the toughness we got aluminum diamond plate so that way when you're going through the under brush trees and all that stuff scratching it up yeah you can scratch it sure it'll scratch but you're not causing damage to say like uh if you have um a fiberglass which will really tear it up or just a standard aluminum flat piece or whatever you like to usually find and then here in the upper half this is aluminum composite so you have a sheet of aluminum a composite material in between and then a separate sheet of aluminum so that way you have your strength you got the rigidity but you still are holding a lightweight material because you're taking up a lot of weight with their frame as well as the independent suspension so you look at some companies and say oh i have a baja edition and they throw these fantastic stickers and you look down you go look at these knobby tires now you look down at our tires these are light truck tires these are not trailer tires if you look at most standard trailers it is a trailer tire this is a light truck tire obviously designed for going off road and if you look behind it if you can see it if you get in there maybe maybe go we have to go behind a 19. 19 you can really get the view okay so all of our units have an independent suspension independent swing arms for each and every unit all the same ones swing arm swing arm swing arm swing arm there's dual shocks on each one and a heavy duty coil spring to help come you know keep that ride going nice and smooth and it's got a limiting chain on it so that we're not botting me out and dropping it um some of the people i've talked to some of the customers that talk about the suspension how smooth it is they got their things hanging on the wall they got their guitar on their bed they got you know items and they get there everything's still in the same place so how much does this guy weigh this one is 6 800 pounds that's not bad weight so a full-size truck has got a capacity up to ten thousand it's a full-size truck totally sized truck yeah i've towed it with a with a half ton yeah the 1500 silverado yeah um obviously i'm not doing it with you know just a six cylinder right cylinder but you can get away with with a half done but you obviously got to make sure that the towing vehicle you have does mean you know you're 68 to 10 000. you're better for the heavy duty absolutely but you know the overall design like i said the it's the suspension that's really taking us and sets us apart from everybody and how how much so how much does this cost um this one is a hundred and one thousand and can you get them are they all sold out no no you get them okay because a lot of these places are we got them at the shop yeah we got them in the shop they're getting built right now and you've got how many how many different versions like right now we have just four of our units here yeah so we have one of our prototypes and new prototypes we have the the classic 13. yeah um we have our classic 15. i like the pop-up top absolutely we have several pop-up top units we have our hp 12 which is a pop top uh we have our classic 15 our classic 12 and our classic 13 that are all pop tops they're utilizing a pvc vinyl and it still keeps all the weather the rain all that stuff out it keeps you very comfortable i've i've slept in this one in in you know 30 30 yeah about 30 degree weather um and stayed nice and warm and toasty what's the rain so i take it you know it's probably top end right yeah this is the top and this is our top one other than that the toy holidays what does it start with what do they start at so there's not the twelve the smaller ones right so the smaller ones yeah um so it kind of depends so i think that the 15 um on a ms msrp the 15 give me a quick second because i don't have a luck in my brain at this minute that's okay that's one 59 yeah so 59 999 so 60 essentially for the 15. but again that's an msrp what's what's your best seller best seller is going to be our hq with the hq21 catching up to it yeah people do like the smaller units one of the features for like this 15 yeah is this is a fold out that's cool um a lot of people think it's a slide-out and this actually folds out so the roof is actually the very back of the unit so this door will fold down this drawer will fold up in these doors fold in and the roof comes down lances all up i like that you got recovery points yes that's pretty that's pretty cool too those are like 9 500 pound capacity i think it was i'd have to double check on it but yeah they have a great capacity that way instead of hooking up to a frame or somewhere you shouldn't be you also have the the pins to be hooking up and then it looks like you also do some protection i mean you know the rock rails oh yeah we're gonna look at the rock guards yeah so these are our rock guards and these are on all our hq models so the idea is so if you're going down you know in a ditch coming up from a ditch and you hit kind of like a low point with your trailer rather than taking out the corner of your trailer you'll take out the rock absolutely it's there to absorb the damage um i've seen some some older units um you know 2018 models they were just beat to hack let's go inside so yeah and then the rock guards took all the what would you say what percentage of your people actually take these guys off-road is it is it everybody or is it is this mainly like you know you go and hit the koa this is not a gay trailer if you're going koa i mean if you want to take it to koat you can yeah that's your business you can there's city water connections on on the unit to do it um but this is this is an off-road whether you're going hardcore off-road which a lot of our our consumers are doing a hardcore off-road probably areas they shouldn't be going to so i'm thinking like hurrah pass yeah have you been there i've never been no no all right that's hard yeah should we step on in here in the 19th yeah so so this is one of our you know our newer models um we're utilizing now in these models we're starting to utilize diesel furnaces to help heat so instead of using propane we're using diesel um i haven't had the chance to play with it but it's supposed to be a much more comfortable heat this is our new interior so we have this nice high glass interior um with our cabinets we changed our wood so now we're using them to lock the wood which is what they're making canes wooden canes out of so it's a it's a lot more durable it's really strong we've got this nice heavy-duty uh brackets on here to open it up um you know but nice again we got rid of our handles give it a nice clean look to it an air conditioner air conditioner yeah we got air conditioner um you know we have our lighting we have some new upgrades so how big of a pro how big how big of a diesel engine are you running in this it's just a small little unit yeah it's about you know like the size of a football player what's it out of is it i mean what's what's the i mean what's the other use for it was it uh it's just for furnace yeah i know there are other units out there where they have they do like water heater and the heater yeah um we're not using that yet necessarily so we're always changing things so this is propane i take it this is propane yeah this is propane uh the refrigerator is propane yeah um if you plug in then it's also gas or uh excuse me not gas i like triple um and then back in the bathroom we have a dry bath so we got a nice big shower that i can fit in very comfortably which is nice let's see i'm they can do it see here i am i'm in the shower i got head room oh you do first if i was much taller it might be problems there's two big guys what do you have yeah i know yeah the big shower is the important thing and then we got the nice roll around door so that way he keeps all the water in here um we have a separate toilet and composting or just you said dry that's a regular toilet so it goes to a black tank okay all right and then we have a seven gallon capacity washing machine wow that's nice so yeah so some people you know enjoy it they like it they're like i need my washing machine um and other people are like why is there a washer so how how long can you live off the grid on this you know give it depends it depends on your use depends on your use of water um there is in our unit so the tanks we got 26 and 26 for your black and gray um the water general water is a 63 gallon tank and then there's a separate 16 gallon drinking water tank that's uh 16 gallons and so that will come through both of them come through the same spigot on the sink yeah it's just you know one's got a front opening then a rear opening so that way if you run out of your general water you still have your drinking water so it depends like if you take long showers or not absolutely yeah absolutely take it along showers if you're not just doing a quick little wet basically quick doing a quick little wet bath yeah your water is going to go out quick and it depends on your food supplies as well and this guy is 59 you said this guy how much is this good um let's see what you got here 19. msrp is 94 699.94 okay that makes more sense yeah i mean there's a lot of stuff in here obviously i mean we have show specials uh you know it's down in around 68 uh with the show um you know but that's uh you know the dealership and what we're writing up for show stuff like that you know taking 25 off and so that's you know that's the cool part you know looking at the deals i love these switches yeah we just touched the passenger switch to the switches yeah so these are these are wireless it's a wireless it's a touchpad so this is the main one shuts off everything although you can't tell because it's too bright in here with sun that one and then these three switches will run the lights that are in here and then these three switches will run the flood lights outside okay so it's nice to be i got floods in the front floods on the back and floods on the sides unless you've got looking speakers right yeah yeah we upgraded our stereo system so if you look we got speakers with tweeters and we actually have a subwoofer down on the floor down here now if you'll notice there's no radio so we eliminated the radio and put in a bluetooth system so you use your phone you use your phone your ipod or whatever you have your music on now you have a bluetooth system to plug into and i think uh i'm not sure i know there's extra wires down there i think you can plug into a device if you have to as well but that's all underneath always been fascinated by them so let's see we got here we got looks like a discovery that's been done up for off-roading we're trying to buy actually uh land rover lr4 because we've gone had the discovery 2 the lr3 and the 4 but we haven't gotten quite yet to the disco so do any experience on how good or not these guys are off-road they just look too pretty to me to be really off-road worthy this is your rig oh okay he's resting guys sitting in a chair what's your dog's name uh this is peanut hey peanut butter cutie what a cutie he's such a cutie how old is peanut he looks like peanuts uh you know she's a teenager is she yeah yeah so she's on the older side of things she looks she looks very wise she looks very wise she's been enjoying it here at uh well enjoy your uh seed all right let's see what we got else going on we met peanut of course uh highlight for me uh here we have a land cruiser this would not be an overland expo without a land cruiser uh these have become ubiquitous and of course very expensive to obtain so um you know if you want a land cruiser nothing else will do and the reason for that is because accordingly according to toyota at least and those in the x those in the industry these are built to a much greater reliability durability specification in a special factory in japan and so any of these uh rigs you know will easily go 200 200 000 miles and it's incredible just how rock solid they are after you know that many miles on the road and this one is of course done up as an overlander with the ubiquitous roof top ten is that a roof nest can't tell a pop-up tent just oh it's a james bond hey i'm just admiring your rig here what a nice what a nice rig oh thank you i'm roman oh hi chris nice to meet you i'm i'm with the fast lane truck and tfl off road yeah so we're just kind of doing a walk around so tell me about your rig would ya that was a 2016 landfill yep james brood rooftop yeah i noticed that i wasn't sure which one it was it's hard to tell sometimes right sure it has the ghost awning the rlg homies are you with james brood is this is this the whole exhibit this is our whole exhibit but i'm not selling anything so i'll give you the real answer oh good you own are you james no no no no i'm the owner of this truck okay oh no i wish i was james yeah so give me a walk around of the rig sure so this is the rld awning starting from south africa i live in the pacific northwest where are you from what part washington yeah yeah and up there yeah you know rains all the time most of the awnings are flat this one's actually pitch so the rain i noticed that's nice yeah except this year yeah you have had no rain exactly i mean the flat ones are good when it rains because you just come out of the tent and wash it up with a big puddle of water um we did the method method wheels with the ko2's the icon stage seven suspension we put in a 24 gallon auxiliary tank from long range america so that's water propane this all slides have you seen the trek box before yeah yeah i've seen the trek box before but it looks i haven't seen it like in use so it's cool to see it what kind of bumper is that in the rear it's arb okay front and rear okay um how about we go around this side yeah i like i like your little uh fire pit set up there that's really cool it's great yeah so where have you taken it have you have you overlanded it oh yeah i go everywhere yeah absolutely the longest i've been out is 20 days in this okay um and how was it was it comfortable i loved it yeah i wanted 20 more days where did you go all down through so i was doing the um the oregon trail okay oh nice yeah so i went all through that i started the coast and worked my way all did you buy this you know stock and did you do all the modifications too i designed it over nine months before i even bought the vehicle wow and then got all the parts because when i built it a few years ago yeah the aftermarket parts were available here in the states tried to bring everything in like the rain guards are from dubai and i actually had to bring these bumpers and that bumper's still not even available here in the states you know i'm so bummed that toyota's not bringing the 300 series you know i mean that is so disappointing you know you you build up this reputation and you have this halo vehicle sure and then i know they were only selling like 3 000 a year but still the people who bought them were just like you passionate about them absolutely let's see so let's see the side so it's a beautiful rig so much fun so it's just my wife and our daughter and so we took out the 60 to 60 40 split and did the trek box lock box here so i have first aid kit and all the you know the recovery gear for the air up air down stuff and then i put the molle packs across the back of the cargo oh nice so you get you get extra storage and extra space for all your odds and ends yep and like there's quite a few companies that are making really good organizational solutions except the majority of them don't have that cargo barrier and while it would look good on my obituary saying chris got killed by a flying gatorade bottle you know i don't want to have it on my obituary so yeah wouldn't that be horrible like you crashed in there no you sir you know the airbag goes off but the gatorade killed you so yeah we did that and we were running all the different you know gmrs and the ham radios and the satellite communication all the stuff how many miles on the on this i bought it with 20 and i just hit 60 and it's all trip miles so it's not a daily driver can i ask how much money do you think you have in this i bought it for 55 yeah and i probably put 35 into it that's not bad i was just looking at a camper that was 69. that's the thing i'll have people walk to me rolling and go oh you know that looks really expensive and i look over there so like that's a really nice trailer how many slide houses that have oh four how much does that cost you yeah oh 70. i go that's a nice ram and you tow that with how much was that and i'm even gonna get into that like mercedes you know four by four okay so i mean really they're spending more money than i am on this thing and i can go anywhere yeah yeah love it absolutely love it yeah good job well thank you chris thank you very much i really appreciate it was nice meeting you yeah it was great getting hopefully some places where they're not playing music so this is kind of cool look at this it looks like the back half of uh all right this trailer is crazy i'm trying to figure out is that what is what is back half of this this guy can tell yeah he's the trailer guy what what right here is brandon nice to meet you brad i'm with the fastlane truck car off-road and just doing a little walk around uh so i i feel really embarrassed i should know what this is but i don't this is f8 trailers we designed a chassis but this is this is not like the back of any real truck then yes this is a real truck okay so what's the truck it's a chevy okay so it's a chevy bag this is a chevy bed sorry for all you chevy fans i apologize but we make them for sport and dodge as well okay oh cool all right so yeah we designed the chassis yeah and then you put an eight-foot take-off on it and uh so basically what we give you is the option of a second truck bed wow a truck bed no no you know back in the day right this was like very like rednecky right where somebody got the back end of a truck but this has gone uh this has gone super up marketing it has i mean there's an example of how you don't do it and that's when they take the cab off uh you see that the ford over there and then that's it's super flimsy but what we've designed it's independent suspension timber and axle this axle okay you get 24 inches of ground clearance and we also use a gas port for a 16 gallon water tank that fits underneath wow and uh so it's about 16 feet tongue to tail and uh it weighs in at under a thousand pounds with that with nothing in it that's nothing and how much how much is this guy we start with just a base trailer at 11.5 all right and i'm sorry go ahead go ahead eleven five you were saying and then this one the way it's set up right now without the tint and the refrigerator we've got it for 19.5 okay and where do you get the loaner bed where does that come from i've got a source okay i'm in dallas texas okay and i've got plenty of truck beds i feel like they're all brand new i feel stupid because there's a big chevy logo on the wheel so that well that would have been a giveaway yeah it's it's deceiving you know i mean you know if you if you're not familiar with you know the tail lights or the shapes of beds and i think the rooftop tent you supply yourself right the customer does well no i mean you can come to me for any of that okay oh you can do it all yeah i'll do it all i mean i'm a deal at the deck i'm a dealer for lightner design okay um and rome boxes um let me look at the inside yeah let's kind of show so i love the fact that you've got you know a nice little uh yeah yeah yeah that's pretty cool with the trailers and then you've got the deck right so you can store whatever you need exactly you got the refrigerator you've got the little cargo box gas water so it's really tidy yeah we make a we even make this back to this plate system oh really it works with the mount with the roam boxes okay that that will secure this up here and uh just adds to your storage capabilities uh especially with it being an eight foot bed you've got that extra length and uh you know you know you've got we've got stabilizers in the rear that come down and then we've got stabilizers in the front so you can just park it so yeah it looks super stable yeah you've got you know it's not going to be bouncing around what so why f8 what is that i'm a photographer by trade okay and uh so so you know outdoors it's an f-stop yeah okay but you know it's also you know it's uh you a q3 into uh over landing rig that's cool it looks like it's been you know actually off-roading uh i gotta tell you what's caught my eye is not the raptor but check these old international scouts out i'm a sucker for scouts you know if you've been following tfl you know that we had the first one uh the very 62 uh scout that we took out of a barn in louisville wyoming and almost got hunter virus from uh but wow these are done up really nicely uh and of course i'm not gonna miss this logo right so this must be the i think it's two eight coming swapped fair call right uh so yeah this was always a dream for a lot of people to be able to have a classic vehicle with a modern powertrain uh and with the cummins name behind it uh makes it that much more torquey and that much more fun here's another one really well done alabama plates i wonder who did this love to find uh the guy who do this let's check out the interior i don't want to open the door well that's sketchy no head rest but hey it's a classic vehicle beautifully done interiors absolutely beautiful and uh i don't know what's that is not the uh that is not the looks like a chevy chevy v8 ls maybe i'm i'm guessing here is this your greg no so we're new age iowa okay um what's under the hood there it's an ls3 oh got it right i was so worried that i got wrong i love the and swap one that's cool too yes it's two eight is this build about three years ago yeah this one he's down in alabama and we just finished it up like six months ago wow and so he's like i wanted in the show and we're like all right dude yeah they're beautiful yeah we we we pulled one for our classics channel we pulled a 62 scout out of a bar in louisville wyoming but those were a little too agricultural right they're a little tractor-like but but when you get into the older ones now you're getting into something yeah it's really cool uh so how much would something like this cost if a customer came to you and you know had a scout yeah how much to do these well so we just adjusted our pricing um but to start out i don't know if i can tell you what this would be worth like right now right yeah it's like about like 180 to two yeah i figured this would be around um i believe this one was built for around a hundred three years ago okay um but obviously with scouts being harder to find yeah and everyone's interest growing in them it's a little it fluctuates you know so so if somebody wants to get one of these guys or have you guys fabricate you know do your magic what's your website yeah so new legend 4x4.com is our website um new legend 4x4 like on every social media platform there is and do you do other you know do you do like old comanches and or is it all all scouts you're all scouting all the time toes and wagoneers and stuff like we'd love to but scouts keep us busy fair enough um but yeah it's killer we also have a sister company called anything scout which is our scout parts company which new legend came out of so that's for ls conversions with people that just want the modern drivability we do about two to three of those a month yeah we do about like so eight to ten so interesting fact on the first scout right when international was doing it they had i i was you know this we did this video series like five years ago now so you know so my memory is a little sketchy but but the guy who penned it right just penned the design of the of the nose on the story goes he did it on a napkin at dinner so like what would this thing look like i need like two round lights at a grill and then when you think about it ford really cribbed that right for the bronco well someone was telling me the other day well yesterday i guess i didn't know this but apparently there were scouts in the bronco like assembly line factory when they were when they were building them yeah yeah the old one the old one yeah but these things look awfully similar and then what happened was of course in the first scouts it was international had a v8 right and they cut it in half and then they put the four cylinder and then ford came along and stuck at 289 v8 and that was kind of end of story yeah but they're cool thank you for sharing of course let me show you the inside of this one too so that you have a sense for it so very beautiful interiors very modern you can see you know looks like a lot of attention to detail and yet on the outside you know it's all original so you've got kind of the the resto mod look going uh but uh for for those of you guys who uh obviously don't wanna be uh the next jk or jl or bronco on your street uh this will certainly set you apart all right let's keep going uh let's see we got over here so we've got a really cool really cool toyota here now that is that is a beautiful land cruiser um i don't know why it says dakar tundra on the side i don't know why it says lexus line cruiser uh i haven't had to ask i suspect but yeah this thing's beautiful i mean some of these rigs have got to be worth hundreds of thousands of dollars once again looks like it's a little resto modded or a lot resto modded but yeah i'm a huge fan of the color uh this doesn't seem to be uh the nissan booth so let's let's go by and say hi to the nissan guys hello guys hello nissan guys i'm roman with the fastlane truck nice to meet you i thought i'd uh come by and take a look at your nismo parts nice to meet you nice to meet you carl so yeah we already did a video on it but let's let's put it in this video as well kind of tell me what you guys have introduced here uh to the new frontier so we're out here to really introduce our new nismo off-road line of products uh focusing on the new frontier which we have here front and center and then also some love for the xterra and previous generations you shouldn't have gotten rid of that you should carol questions all weekend when are you gonna make it i know i know it's funny you know like uh both uh nissan and of course toyota with the fj like got out of that world at the very wrong time anyway let's talk about the parts sure so um you know our target was really this crowd right the overlapping yeah we wanted to provide some parts that add to the capability of the vehicles you know take them you know from their already capable level to the next next step up so kind of focus on the things that that people want to start with wheels and tires uh suspension protection you know with heavy duty bumpers and of course lighting and then because you got to have a rooftop tent uh we've got a rack system and our new nismo let's walk around let's show them so i love the uh i love the front uh bumper is it is that winch ready can you put it in there on for the new frontier no not yet because of all the uh eight ass equipment right okay uh collision warning and all of that we don't want to get into into that for the xterra and previous gen frontier our bumpers are winch ready because you don't have that stuff yeah exactly fair enough uh and then um you know we've got a line of lighting uh these are our four inch round lights we've got you know uh ditch lamp mounts for them they're cute i like a bit the bumper we also have six inch lights yeah they're really cute yeah those are nice bolts yeah and then uh we've got our i'm kind of sick of square lights there's my wheel yeah you know this truck's got a lot of square stuff it does so it's nice to kind like the round kind of juxtaposition of round versus yeah yeah so tell me about the wheels i'm sorry so this is what we call our axis wheel it's a 17 by seven and a half uh fitz frontier xterra r51 pathfinder and what size tire is that uh this is a 265 yeah that's like an inches like a 32 this is a 32. this is a stock size right here yeah and then uh we've got a suspension system that we work with uh bilstein on developing for the trucks uh it's uh you know coil over front uh remote reservoir rear shocks right now on this truck we just have it set up as a plus one inch okay you know for leveling yep uh you can do from zero to two inches all right and let's look at the back of the truck so it looks like you look like you've built out a little bit of a you know platform for all the tools and the tents that you've got exactly so our bed rack they're they come in two heights this is you know tall and then we've also got one that's basically half this in case you want to you know get your tent below your you know even with your roof line modular design you know you can you can see the holes and slots you can move the uh side panels and the top rails to wherever you need them to accommodate plenty of options for attaching stuff and then on the top we've got our new nismo offroad oh wow so it's i take it you don't build it somebody else builds it and you're correct right we have it sourced for us so fair enough um and and what we're trying to do is make it easy for people to get this sort of thing because we've heard there's not a lot of after-market support for nissan products so uh you know you can buy these parts for your local nissan dealer that's cool and the more important question is can you buy these parts and roll it into your loan well sure so you know encouraging our dealership trucks just hitting you know just on sale now most of the parts for the new frontier will be available after the first of the year and uh absolutely you know your dealer can sell these to you roll it in and off you go yeah that's that's the way to do it for most people i would think yeah you're ready to hit the trail all big and i was talking to some of the people that have been out here some of the kind of the truck and overlanding people and they're telling me that this segment is the hot news segment in overlanding hello how are you that people are really taking to kind of american style over landing what i mean by that is you know in australia obviously there's one form over landing and like you can't do this in australia apparently there you can't lift vehicles or if you can just an inch or two and so it doesn't allow you to do like over double triple like cell vehicles like this and in south africa it's a whole different thing of course rooftop tent came from there but here in america with um these big heavy-duty pickup trucks uh and with kind of our open space uh this has become really um a thing now and so our friends at pop-up campers apparently somewhere in this massive area have an entire expo where people are just getting into over landing kind of the american way which is of course always going to be double or triple xl so big trucks with big pop-up campers on the roof so let's keep walking uh we've been doing this now for almost 45 minutes and uh starting to run out of battery unfortunately but let's keep going and see what else there is to see here and then we'll do a couple more interviews and and wrap this up uh this expo is certainly bigger than the one in colorado you can't help but feel that these guys are the original expo area and one of the nicest things about being here is just how like friendly everybody is seems like the overlanding community uh really is a cohesive community of people who and this makes sense you know who rely on each other i guess if you're sorry i guess if you're off-road in the wilderness and something breaks it's very important to have somebody you can hopefully uh rely on all right i see a really cool truck there the earth crusher for sale not the roamer the crusher ran through that simpsons episode where they had that destroying whatever it was the oh god i can't think of the name of the vehicle now but if you're into the simpsons leave a comment below and let me know what it was uh this this is a lot like that you i'm with the fastlane truck tfl off road we do a lot of youtube videos so i'm just doing a walk around you look like sean holman sean holman uh runs motor trends off-roading stuff so you guys very similar anyway tell me about the earth cruiser earth bruises so we it starts as a two-wheel drive um cab over platform yep we make it into a four-wheel drive we had rock 80 front and rear axles with locking tips and we had two-speed transfer case um we started this thing we started this platform on the ground blank sleeves later vape we started the tires what's what's what's the base vehicle so what what truck is that so this one is an npr okay our new platform that we're going to is isuzu mpi with six six uh vortech engine um chevy transmission so that that doesn't translate so that's that's the old chassis but you're going to sus uh so that's a new one so that's what you start with okay yeah and then then you build this on top of it you got it you got it foundation foundation platform is designed figured out works perfect and then we marry it up with the house the house is fiberglass one inch foam core fiberglass and functionally made to be just perfect can i go inside yeah check it out yeah yeah show me what you did here all right cool oh i'll just do a quick i'll do a quick like uh holy cow look at this very modern you can get beyond that you're sure oh it's it's it's zip tied i don't want to go below it it's going to be i'll just i'll just show them it will come back out it's fine i got a backpack this would be with the camera almost impossible by the way do i detect an accent yeah i'm from england oh nice okay yeah yeah amazing so as you step in you're in the mud room yeah so it's a shower and bathroom down the little door we've got a toilet and 500 pound draw slides um would you get inside the everything runs up 12 volt we do have inverter for for minimal stuff that's on 110 but it's incredibly efficient you can get up to 800 amp hours of lithium batteries we have dual tornadoes i mean completely self-sufficient we've got people who live in these off-grid we've got a couple who live in there that lived in there for five months and never had to plug in it wow that's pretty cool four gallon water heater it's electric but again the battery consumption is you know so vast 800 amp hours and assist and a designed um system that is drawing very little that you can go forever so for a long time so i notice this guy's for sale how much this one's 475. okay it's pretty owned um guy decided he wanted to tear anova so so we so how much how much how do you do it do you guys like get somebody to come to you and say i want to build up or do you build them up yeah all custom built okay tell us which one and then we get out there do you want an exp or fbx that's what you have you know vast amount of options but we don't baseline base price is still usable absolutely badass vehicle we're not there's no bait in switch it doesn't cost you an extra hundred thousand dollars to get it towards where it's usable you can show up turn key and it's ready to go now thank you yeah i got i'm running out of battery so i got i got like two more minutes before i die thank you very much yeah it was nice meeting you thanks yeah so anyway i'm starting around a battery so i'm going to quickly keep going down here and show you some more things and yeah that was kind of a brain fart um not the earth crusher the earth cruiser i'd go with earth pressure i'm just saying i think that's uh very uh very catchy of course it might seem like it's a bit of uh very heavy power equipment anyway uh we have uh a bronco here metal tech metal tech looks like they're doing i wonder if they're doing some accessories for the broncos this one is this one looks like it's pretty stock it looks exactly like ours actually in fact i think it is ours first edition cyber orange there you go and uh yeah let's go down i don't really want to do parts uh that's a whole different world uh maybe we could do a whole show just on parts uh but let's go down here maybe look at that toyota ahead of me and then we'll wrap this up before the battery dies just expanding there are three of these expos of course there's one in colorado there's this one and then there's one on the east coast that's a pretty cool old land cruiser it looks like a little toy i would be playing with when i was a kid i would love that as a matchbox pretty cool anyway it seems to be growing i've heard that we're looking at their numbers in the tens if not more thousands so 10 15 000 people now here on a daily basis just looking around and checking out everything uh that there is uh and uh yeah thank you guys for uh you know sticking with me and having this nice little
