exus is the worst it's a common sentiment that we've heard and this time around both the s24 base and the Plus have it the exus 2400 while the ultra still has the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 but then recently in other videos people seem to be thinking that exus has come a long way and maybe maybe it has redeemed itself with the s24 so what's happening do we still have performance issues and heat what about throttling are the cameras equally good how about battery life and why do countries like India get exus while the US still gets snap Dragon let's break all of that down and we'll also talk about other things like the display the camera the battery life and so on first of all let's set one thing clear chips or processors have come to a point where the performance difference is barely noticeable in the real world usage especially in the flagship category what matters more actually is battery optimization and software optimization nowadays firstly not comparing it to anyone exus 2400 by itself is a really good chip at least on paper it's fast smooth and I didn't observe any heating while charging or using the camera benchmark scores are comparable to some of the best chips today and with its 10 core architecture it's supposed to yield very high performance and Battery efficiencies and second you get top-of-the-line performance components you get lpddr 5x Ram which is super fast and it's very battery efficient and you get ufs 4.0 internal storage which is also very fast so everything is super Snappy without a doubt but let's cut to the important thing let's just compare this with the s24 ultra using the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 first let's test how fast the the AI functions are on both we're just going to move the dog over here and generate the rest of the image next we're going to erase the dog Al together and generate the image and finally Let's Straighten the image and have the rest generated so in terms of AI function I'd say they're quite similar do note that the s24 exus variant it gets the same set of AI functions that's there in the s24 ultra and the accuracy is the same and in any case if you do wish to know more more about those AI functions I've done that in my s24 ultra Impressions video I'll leave a card here so definitely watch it if you're interested next let's look at a couple of photos that I took with both the phones the bass and the ultra and see if there are any differences there now you may say that the s24 takes pictures with slightly more contrast than the s24 ultra and again that may actually be preferred by most next I played Call of Duty on both these devices for about 30 minutes at highest graphic setting the exus 2400 it delivered really good gaming performance with very stable FPS throughout my gaming session in fact if you must know the exlipse GPU that's in the exus variant is supposedly more capable than the adreno GPU that comes in the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 but do note that the s24 ultra is a larger device it's got a larger Vapor chamber so it's not exactly a fair comparison but you get the idea Okay so we've looked at photo we've looked at gaming and AI capabilities things that you normally do everyday on a phone and realistically speaking not much of a big difference in both their performances but what about your use case like like editing and exporting a video so I exported nearly 2 and 1/2 minutes of 4K videos using VN editor on both the phones and the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 was faster in this case by about 10 seconds again this isn't a use case for everyone I mean how often are you going to be exporting a video on a daily basis and even if you are someone who's going to then wouldn't you any way prefer the s24 ultra given it's got a better camera Hardware but yeah definitely for this use case the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 takes a lead and although I don't think performance benchmark scores are everything but we can see that the UN scores for s24 Ultra with the Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 is higher than exus 2400 and what this tells us is that when you hit Peak Performance requirement the Snapdragon 8 gen 3 will be faster than the exus 2400 but again how often are you actually going to hit those Peak Performance levels rarely now when I looked at geek bench scores again the CPU benchmarks are somewhat proportional to what we saw with unu but have a look at the GPU benchmarks the exus variants actually outperform the Snapdragon H gen3 and you know just to be sure that it wasn't because I'm in a cooler temperatures which is in Deli right now I did not notice any significant heating even while I was in Mumbai which is typically hotter than Delhi right now which is at about 30 33° Celsius still no heat but seriously guys scores aside performance-wise you will not feel any difference between these two for 95% of the things that you do on a daily basis now there is the question of you know battery performance which I'll cover a little later in the video so hang tight anyway now that we have some clarity on how far the exus has come from 2200 to the 2400 let's talk about how s24 is really the most powerful compact Android Flagship to exist right now so design VI super premium and top-of-the-line stuff ip68 water and dust resistance Gorilla Glass Victor 2 for display protection a lightweight and strong aluminum armor frame and beautiful symmetrical bezels all around that are now Slimmer than ever before and because of these smaller bezels you now get a 6.2 in display in the same frame as that of s23 which had a smaller 6.1 in display so for the same price and same Dimension you get a larger display and then you've got a nice curved frame feels very comfortable and the flat display looks gorgeous now one of the things that I want to point out is that in the Android World there is no powerful compact flag chip sure there's the Asus Zen phone 10 but that's not readily available everywhere and sure there's the iPhone 15 but I do have thoughts about that towards the end of the video so you might want to watch this all the way to the end but seriously this compact comfortable size with Flagship performance and one of the best cameras on a smartphone there's really no other Android like this in this segment and now moving on to the display well what do I say it's Samsung's Dynamic AMOLED display and there is nothing like it it's easily the best in the segment and in the industry overall but you know two big improvements first the brightness this time as on the s24 for Ultra Peaks at 2600 nits I mean look high brightness is one thing but being able to do so while maintaining colors and the accuracy of the content is what phones like the s24 and the ultra really excel at also this time around they've upgraded to ltpo displays on both the base and the plus model which means they can go as low as 1 Herz and as high as 120 HZ depending on the content and that actually makes them more battery efficient than previous phones now one of the things that many did not point out about the 24 plus is that it now gets an upgraded screen resolution like the s24 ultra you can now switch to a higher resolution for a more crisp and shop display all in all in this segment or for this price there's simply no other phone that can beat the displays of this entire series anyway now let's touch upon the cameras so both the s24 and the Plus have the same Hardware if you compare them to the s24 ultra they basically lack the 5x Zoom 50 megap lens rest is the same and from initial photos that I took well they're great I've not tested them thoroughly as I would do in my full review but from the looks of it they're quiet at par with what I would see from the s24 ultra I also took some portrait shots to see how good is The Edge detection and focus fallof and without nitpicking and just looking at it from a distance I think they're quite nice now one thing I noticed is that with one UI 6.1 they've moved certain controls like you used to get for photos in portrait mode up front but now you just got to swipe the photo up and see possible recommendations for the edit right here now from here you can still access the portrait set settings like you could earlier and make any changes you still get 8K video recording at 30 FPS and 4K recording to up to 60 FPS and I think the video quality is pretty good and by the way feel free to download these photo and video samples from the link in the description now let's talk about the more sensitive part the battery life and again it's exus so I'd like to address battery life in context of that first of all battery capacities have increased on both the s24 base and the plus model but then battery life is more important than battery capacities so look at the screenshot with 65% of my battery being used I'm getting close to 4 hours of battery life that's a big Improvement I mean I've got another 35% left and then with that 35% more I could have gone for additional 2 hours giving me a screen on time of about 6 hours which I think is incredible considering how compact the phone is and so how limited the battery capacity is and it's still rocking a flagship chip I mean this is really good and the s24 plus with an even larger battery capacity will easily yield close to what the s24 ultra gives in terms of battery efficiencies now before I end the video I do want to compare this with the iPhone 15 base because you might be considering that phone at a similar price point of about 80,000 rupees look the iPhone has its own advantages and benefits and a whole other ecosystem but if you're leaning towards the s24 then let me give you a couple of other reasons which might actually convince you to get the s24 instead first of all if you're already on Android then iOS is a whole other learning curve I actually actually done a video so must watch that to know what you're really getting into second you get a whole other camera the telephoto lens that's just missing on the iPhone 15 there's also no 8K video recording on the iPhone sure you may not use it as much but still it's missing next none of the AI features are available on the iPhones right now so that's something you'll completely miss out on the iPhone 15 non-pro models have an inferior display they're not even 120 HZ they're also not as bright as the s24 there's also no reverse Wireless charge that could help you charge your accessories like your earphones or your watch or even an iPhone you just can't do that with the iPhone 15 there's also no rate racing capabilities for realistic looking games that may arrive soon in the future fii the iPhone 15 base and the plus model still use the a16 bionic chip and the exus 2400 just beats it surely in terms of performance benchmarks and lastly officially Apple promises 5 years of os upgrades while Samsung is going all the way out and giving you seven generations of Android upgrades so unless you really want to move to the iOS world there's really no good reason for you to get the iPhone 15 or the iPhone 15 plus now you might wonder why the US gets the Snapdragon variant while countries like India get the exus variant well it actually has to do more with the availability of the technology so us is very big on the use of CDMA technology and the rights to using the technology actually lies with Snapdragon and so for Samsung it's a lot easier to use Snapdragon chips than to use exus chips in India though we use GSM and since Samsung is already making their own chips it just makes sense for them to use their own exus chips instead and you know it also helps them build their own supply chain rather than depend on someone else for it it's just a good business move and to start with they're doing it with the s24 base and the plus models anyway that's pretty much it guys I mean yeah it's exus but this time around I really think the Gap is a lot lesser than ever before they've really improved over the exus 2200 the battery and the efficiency gains are absolutely clear now I don't see any performance issues either little to no difference in camera processing as well and so all those things that Snapdragon used to have an upper hand on I think the exus has really gotten closer but if you guys still have any questions comments concerns doubts feel free to drop them in the comment section I'll definitely help you
