today's video has been sponsored by love and pies hello my peeps and welcome back to the channel now very much like the lemon onion and egg videos before it today's Tik Tock Excursion is going to be all about apples this one's been on my list for a while but of course it had to wait for the best time of the year the time when all these were super ripe there's basically no place in New York where you can't go and get a delicious apple right now so with the help of the goons we are going to load up the car with plenty of different apples head home and see how these all turn [Music] [Music] out give you a review [Music] delicious [Music] ah it's not all about the size guys about the flavor so I think I was able to compile a really good variation of recipes today from the sweet and expected to even the creamy salty Savory and there is no better way to kick off today's Autumn festivities than by crafting the greatest apple pie around and giving a big thanks to today's sponsor love and clicking the link in the top line of the description and downloading the game for free and joining the heartwarming world of loveing pies first up on today's Apple tasting menu we're going to be giving this caramel apple Spritz or Mimosa a shot and in order to make that I headed outside and grabbed myself some caramel vodka and apple cider cinnamon sticks and ground cinnamon some prco granulated sugar an apple and some caramel syrup I couldn't help myself guys it's 50° out the trees are starting to change I wanted to spend as much time outside as possible and I should be able to get quite a few good photos um once this drink is done out here I started by prepping the garnish that being our freshly picked apple slices and the cinnamon sticks and then I rimmed our glass with some of the caramel a nice little mix of the cinnamon sugar and then for the actual drink itself it's a very simple combination of a splash of the caramel vodka some of our apple cider I gave that a good shake and then topped that off with some prco probably half and half of those two mixtures very simple very SE season Al and eye-catching so let's give it a taste have you ever seen anything more beautiful in your whole life I I don't think so as somebody who normally doesn't love wine adjacent products I can drink this this is very good it helps that all these fall flavors are so strong and kind of dominate your taste buds all you really taste is apple cinnamon caramel rather than the prco being what you taste it's more like the vessel for all the other good stuff I could drink this this is also a drink that gives you the max return on your time investment you're not sitting there making a simple syrup or mulling your own cider this came together in 5 minutes it looks incredible it tastes even better my hair's not brushed that's all right where have you been they've missed you it's Steven that gets all the fame now he took my air time it's for Autumn M I like Apple I like caramel love caramel apple very delicious N9 and a half High Praise I'm going to take it with me okay bye-bye and enjoy the holidays if he doesn't let me be on again oh my God anyways now I mentioned that I wanted to get a good variation of recipes for this one and for our first Savory entry we've got this very intriguing looking apple and cheddar soup I collected some olive oil heavy cream and vegetable stock garlic powder powder and ground cinnamon paprika and our cheddar cheese some honey and cayenne pepper fresh nutmeg and some sweet potatoes salt and pepper a few apples and then all our fresh components the garlic onion parsley oregano and basil the first time I saw this recipe I kind of just assumed this would take hours it just feels like something that would I don't know whenever I see most kind of chows or soups like this I just assume it's going to take quite a few hours but this one might surprise you I chopped up seasoned and then roasted off all of our apples and sweet potatoes those potatoes are actually what's going to give the majority of the volume to this soup a lot of sweetness I imagine and then once that stuff is roasted off in a 400° oven until tender you sauté off your onions and garlic combine everything else together from the stock and cream all your fresh stuff I'm just plopping all this right down in my pot cuz I was planning on using a stick blender but if you're using a standard blender you should just put all this stuff directly in there all told this could come together in waight less than an hour with the majority of that time being the roasting of the potato and apple and even that part you could cut down by just chopping up all that stuff a little bit smaller it goes without saying that I am skipping the oat and nut um topping that she puts on the top of this although it does look really good in her video and it's one of the few things I'm a little bit jealous about having to skip because of my allergies and don't ask me why but I headed back outside to Plate this one up I thought I'd be able to get another good photo but completely forgot but at the very least all you Peeps are able to see this one I've yet to master the art of swirling the cream on the soup to finish it kind of just looks like a children's splatter painting so the first hit of this is really strange because all you get is just overwhelming sweetness smacking you in the face but then it does level out and gets neutralized by the Cayenne the black pepper just a unexpected first experience if I were to make this again or if I just tasted it and adjusted I would find a way to tone the sweetness down maybe my sweet potatoes were bigger than hers I would say regardless the honey feels a little unnecessary but I still maintain that the usage of the potatoes to thicken stuff like this is so cool to me you don't have to mess with Rus and starch slurries you just roast some vegetables and blend it with a stock and you get a really good soup it has grown on me quite a bit too as I've been sitting here and eating it but a little bit inconclusive overall and now for the big guns from the Tik Tok Creator Cassandra Melissa potentially one of the best sandwiches I've ever seen it is the Apple Pudo grilled cheese I acquired a crusty bread loaf and honey butter and Pudo some mozzarella and goat cheese fresh timey and of course another Apple it's a good thing I opted to buy the large standard sack of apples at the farm because boy are we running through these even though that thing costs almost 50 bucks these days I remember a time back in the day when it was actually cheaper to go apple picking as it should be you're doing the work for them and now it's almost like you're paying for the novelty of it which I kind of get but it still stinks the only prep that this one required was slicing up the apples shredding up the cheese cutting bread if your loaf isn't already and then just laying all that good stuff in between two very heavily buttered slices of bread toasting each side over a I'd say medium heat you want to keep this on there long enough for all that good cheese to melt up while also still getting a nice golden brown crust on the outside I know that the cooking temp for a grilled cheese has been the topic of much debate recently but I will do my own testing and give my own opinions on another day for right now though this sandwich was looking unreal especially went topped with some more honey a nice sprinkling of the fresh time talk about a comfort food my God I cannot wait to eat this thing there are not good enough words in the English language to describe Des rbe the smell coming off of this from obviously The Buttery toasty bread you could just barely get the Pudo and the Apple I think a little bit of heat started to get to the very middle uh even the time is fragrant this sandwich is absolutely phenomenal by far my favorite thing I've tasted so far today it's such a good combination of flavors with the honey the salt the apples The Buttery bread at first it was kind of giving me vibes of something you'd find in an overpriced real hipster Cafe in Manhattan something you might regret ordering but then taste and not regret it at all because this is delicious without question I will be making this again I urge you guys to give it a shot as well wow we couldn't do a video all about apples without making a dessert but I wanted to skip past the standard apple pie apple crumb and when I got sent this thousand layer apple dessert by my friend Lindsay and a bunch of you I knew it would be perfect and for the last time today I grabbed some cinnamon and vanilla ice cream more of that caramel and puff pastry butter brown sugar an egg and a couple more apples and even with all my excitement and enthusiasm about this one a lot of that was forgotten when I saw this one required the use of a mandolin once all your apples were peeled and CED you have to slice them as thinly as humanly possible borderline paper thin you want to be able to completely see through them or else I don't think this is going to work too well and I have no shame in admitting that I'm terrified of this device if you missed it a couple months back I fully lost my fingertip on this thing it was down to the fat layer I thought I was going to need a stitch it's really scary so if you're going to use one use a guard use a glove or just don't use it at all the rest of this process was relatively stressfree I whip together the butter brown sugar and cinnamon mixture that is going to coat each and every one of our our apple slices the baking portion of this does get a little bit tricky you have to pull it in and out of the oven a couple times you want to drain all the excess butter and liquid that the apples expel adding a bit of weight to kind of Squish these down the preparation for this is actually very similar to the Thousand layer potato that went Mega viral I think a year ago now that's probably where they got the inspiration for this one and I'm not going to lie I was growing pretty skeptical about this recipe I don't know why it wasn't looking the best even the puff pastry didn't look as impressive as it normally does but let me tell you all once I was easily able to flip this out on my plate and Crown it with some ice cream and that caramel never mind I realized you could put ice cream and caramel on anything and make it look good but this really came through in the end you can see those layers so let's give this a taste and see how strong we're going to finish this thing was so hot still that I have the ice cream has now melted you can actually see it actively running down the sides of it also if you heard a cricket in the background at any point during this video um I do apologize it's just that time of the year but look at this first of all I need to remember whatever kind of caramel syrup this was cuz I noticed that in the cocktail one too that stuff is good it tastes homemade but my God is this thing good I was a little worried that the Apple layers were going to get lost and kind of just mushed together cuz you can't even really see them in there but I think it's because they're so thin um you can barely see them with the eye when it's cut right down through the middle like that but they are there and they are so damn Delicious this is something else I wish Stephen was here cuz he's not a sweet Sky either but I'm pretty sure even he would tell you the only thing I'd complain a little bit about is maybe the puff pastry because that stuff's expensive it's very fickle to work with and it kind of gets completely lost here it just gets sogged out it's not crispy at all any amount of puffy flakiness is just completely flattened but other than that absolutely to die for make this too you guys have a lot of homework to do this week but it would all be very worth it I promise um this has been a great [Music] day yeah yeah yeah with the m m without the a put the burgers in my money super lazy trying to make a tonight they pain me trying to Super siiz my life with my 18 yeah I sty wasn't wavy where did you get that on the ground why hold it up oh my God is that a it's real or it's a let's test it hey hey I need the flares from Harry Potter shoot them up I'm in the process of cleaning up right now and somebody thought it'd be a great idea to put a cap on the prco and when I went to pick it up [Music] um I'm drenched in it what a lovely finish to the day
