I Survived A Tornado

tornado warning you know how it be the national weather service has issu a tornado oh it's broken that's insane all right everybody back in wow oh my goodness dude it's so close to us oh my heart is racing dude what just happened severe weather caused significant damage powerful straight line winds gusting up to Hurricane strength we're traveling across the country Tre look at that hunting one of the most dangerous natural disasters in the world get in come on this is Max and Aaron they're professional stormchasers and I've caught some wild tornadoes in the past we're going to go get a little bit closer last year they helped us track down some crazy supercell storms and now we're doing it again we're currently on the hunt for a real life tornado and we must be getting close CU there is destruction everywhere a few weeks ago there was an ef3 Tornado part of a really big Regional outbreak that came right through here so we're on the east side of Lincoln Nebraska and this is one of the worst hit sides of town wow that's insane look at that that thing got absolutely obliterated this was tornado number one of like 13 that's crazy that's all debris from the warehouse and we're about to go hunt another one look at that car next to the tree it literally got thrown all the way up there out of the parking lot ultimately they got really lucky that I mean this is the Far East side of town it's an industrial portion of town if it had been even just a few miles further back to the west or had dropped a few miles further south it would have gone right through neighborhood so although it's unfortunate that it did this much damage they they actually got pretty lucky yeah we're pulling into another town that got hit by a different tornado but on the same day as the last Town they'll have you know some stuff rebuilt by next year but some stuff it'll it'll take them years yeah so I came up from that direction and then hit the east side of town and kept going that way for a really long time it was a long track tornado it was rated ef3 but it it was likely stronger this is the EF scale you can see the ef3 and above causes a lot of damage making those tornadoes very dangerous seeing the destruction this close is a scary reminder of how powerful Mother Nature really is oh my gosh some of these houses got completely leveled that's crazy look at that RV all of these used to be houses there's nothing here it's literally there's not anything left that was a house that was a house it's been almost a month and they still got people working out every single day clearing debris and doing stuff like that that was a house right there right now we are traveling through what is known as Tornado Alley this area sees some of the most intense tornado activity due to the Collision of warm moist air from the Gulf of Mexico and cool dry air from Canada and the Rocky Mountains reporting live off only a couple hours of sleep we are hey where the heck are we AA a a aoka we're currently in aoka and uh there's a massive storm coming straight to us right where we're standing we're just waiting for it as it moves closer and closer to us it's going to get more and more intense so once it hits this area there's high high likelihood of not just one tornado but a tornado outbreak so we'll go e my sandwich so today's probably the biggest day of the trip so far the Storm Prediction Center has a 15% hatched area that means we're probably going to see a severe weather potentially tornado outbreak this could be a day to where we get on multiple storms producing tornadoes so we're going to approach a little bit differently where we're going to be sitting Upstream wait for a tornado warning and a confirmed tornado to be issued and then pounce on it cuz they're going to be moving about 40 to 50 m hour today oh wow wouldn't be surprised to see a few strong tornadoes so ef2 plus and we saw what that can do back there in Minden so yeah y'all ready yeah if everybody could just take gab's enthusiasm and implanted into themselves massive tornado in the background game just goes [Music] yeah it looks like we're getting super close and there might be a tornado forming right over this next Hill we're about 25 miles from it sitting directly Upstream so we're in a good position we just don't want to dive in too early and miss the the real big tornado of the day which may not be this first one I think we've been in this car for like 48 Hours dang dude I should have brought my umbrella I'm wearing the same clothes I wore yesterday I haven't changed I haven't showered I slept here last night I'm here to see a noodle you want to have a water balloon fight it could be your shower oh I didn't even think about that bring shampoo and bar of soap we could shower outside I bet the water pressure is pretty good dud imagine it starts hailing really get your skin clean yeah exfoliate that boy that's the word multiple tornado reports now is there yeah Stone pipe tornado all right game time we're going into the storm right now there is a tornado on the ground right now but it's about 10 15 miles away from us so by the time we get there it might be gone but these storms are so big and so powerful that they produce many different tornadoes not just one I mean it's still got an established circulation I just wonder if it is going to be that southern one as the main [Music] one are we diving s yeah we think this southernmost one is going to be the more prolific storm sometimes you got to miss the early tornado to get the big one later quote that sometimes you got to miss the early tornado to get the bigger one later in quotes tornado warning you know how it be going to slurp up that noodle it's going to slurp you my guy I'll slurp it right back this thing is about ready to produce a really big tornado it seems rotating wall cloud reported we're going to have a view here in probably about 10 minutes about to see a dangerous noodle brother we will see I hope so the weather gods in front of us have said there is a rotating wall cloud in 10 minutes with a lot of moisture attached to it I got enough time I like my rotating wall clouds with moisture on Jesus so they're probably expecting this to be a long track tornado because they've extended the warning well out like 40 m ahead of the circulation so they're expecting this to be on the ground for a long time I could just start to see off on the horizon the base of the storm which means we're probably going to have a view here very soon I'm very confident this is about to produce a large tornado a little bit of a tomato okay I can start to see storm features we go just now there's a Vortex we might have our first view of it at the top of this hill another one I can see where it is I can't exactly see it oh big tornado big tornado yeah big one big cone just to the right of the road oh I see it 100% I'll let you guys see it a little better hold on we're about right over there oh huge huge tornado biged that's a big strong tornado oh my there it is right there big tornado right to the right all right yeah let's stop all right stay very close to the vans look go go go oh wow listen to the sky right now it's so ominous whoa It's coming that might be hail that might be just a tiny bit of hail that is a strong tornado oh that's hail that's hail that was a big piece boy so which way is it going right now right towards us oh literally right up up this road right here there it goes all the way down there it goes holy crap it took us 2 years but we finally got one oh it's broken oh all right everybody back in in the thing we got to be careful though cuz it's moving more North very strong tornado oh my gosh look at that look at that that's insane yeah pause right here for a second in case we have to flip around a shot very close to the van it seems pretty close to [Music] me wow look at that go look at that it's right there yo it's starting to make more of a formation too all right get back in in in in are we're going to get the crossing right in front of us that is a monster totally look at that look at the debris [Music] oh it's going to move right in front of us holy crap look at that is a violent tornado this feels wrong to be this close what a monster that was incredible we're in the monsoon now so it's hard to see anything but look at all the trees just brok and ripped in half almost to a main road fly down this road and we can get another intercept on the North Highway look at the power lines are knocked down trees are ripped so is it moving away from us right now yes all right careful here there's line in the road line in the road line in the road we just drove over a power wire no we didn't we're good we got two miles it should be a very obvious intersection is the next Road pavement yes woo that was let's go you guys were literally less than 100 yds away from a strong to Violent tornado okay that's nice oh heart is racing dude what the heck oh what just happened that was insane my god dude look at my video shot of it that doesn't even look real that doesn't even look real is it still moving away from us yep go ahead and stop right here this is sus this is a little scary right here we're okay guys CRS in the road right in front of us power five wow it is still going that is guys oh my God all right this might be our last time looking at it there's tons of power lines down in front of us so we can't make it down this road anymore that's insane look at that yeah hop out hop out hop out this is our last time looking at it go go go I can see it twisting [Music] the rotation on that thing is insane I want to take a selfie with it oh dude did you see the power lines in front of us this is the last time we're looking at this tornado cuz we can't go straight this way that's a tornado my first ever noodle I just I don't even know what to say right now I'm like excited I'm scared look at the power lines down at the end of this road see we're limited we can't go down this road oh my God like earlier this year we had one of the best tornado intercepts of our lives and this compares to it 100% look at It's Getting Thinner and thinner the tornado slowly fading away oh [Music] wow bro that's insane dude we did it let's go that's my first ever tornado I've ever seen just blows my mind look at that rope on it when the tornado is getting skinnier and skinnier does that mean it's getting weaker or what is it doing not necessarily it means it's probably on its way out oh it's moving up it's moving up right now oh there goes there we go look at it and there it goes woo that was an intercept right there oh my God 500 Miles we're going to hop back in the van for the next couple days to keep hunting tornadoes to see how many more we can find and as insane as that was that was just episode 1 so stay tuned for episode 2 and 3 coming soon most of the days we chased last year were a one or two out of five today is a four out of five so
