I scored 2000 FREE books!

oh look what have I done guys what have I done oh no oh no yes this is true it is true I have bought another hle actually I didn't buy the hle I was given the hle for free Tekken Sports is probably sitting there in his office going do do do do I just got my nice clean warehouse and here we go the first big haul of 2024 is coming in but this is life as a book seller we get big huls they come to us it's like as soon as look look what's happened as soon as I got my warehouse clean the universe has said Mill you need some more books this haul has come from a very lovely girl called Jesse Jess and Jess was another eBay reseller and she reached out out to me and she said Mel I've been watching you for the last couple of years I've learned everything from you about selling books but I'm working fulltime now I don't have time to run my bookstore and I've closed down my eBay shop and I'd love to give you all my books for free just come and take them away I need them gone so what do you say so I went out there had a look Jess's books she's got really lovely books in really good condition I can see that there's some books that aren't going to fit my new metrics of my business they're going to be too low or have too slower sell through rate than what I'm actually looking for so the book haul will need sorting and culling but the difference is this book Haul is coming in and normally when I bring in a large book haul like this it would just sit there for weeks for months for years and it would sit in the corners and it would get piled up and I would keep going out there and sourcing new stuff this is different now and I'm going to show you how we do it differently now in this business when I get a big haul like this now the priority is on processing the haul it doesn't matter if my Haul is for 10 books or if my haul like this one is for 2,000 books I need to process them quickly efficiently and straight away all I'm might do is if I PL stuff here and then you sort it out how's that sound well just staying here I'll put it here you sort it where it needs to go [Music] [Applause] them in the box ones yeah right because I'm not going to unpack it all now I [Music] don't so I'm going to put it on the the best way doing this you going put it down here all right do you want to stay here and start sorting well you got to start getting them out of the bags you can't leave them in here I'll do these oh no because I need to just set them up at another time I don't I'm not going to sort them today okay I'm just going to bring in today and then [Music] [Music] next [Music] [Applause] [Music] oh guys what have I done oh my goodness the feeling of that overwhelm is coming back oh my goodness what have I done what have I done how quick can I sort this one day today breathe Mill breathe okay it's Monday it's 6:00 in the morning and I've just got to the warehouse nice and early because I've come into this big Hall that I picked up on Saturday that I had other stuff on the weekend so I haven't started to like unpack it or process it or anything like that so today my first day back in the warehouse I probably have at least 50 orders to Pick and Pack and I'm surrounded Now by all this mess the first thing I'm going to do is clear the benches I need to be able to piek and pack once I've got my peeking and packing done the rest of the day is going to be St spent processing this new haul it is raining here today I hope you can hear me over the rain I sometimes I try and put off my videos when it's raining but this is a day where i'm doing something that I want to document and the rain is what it is apologies if you can hear [Applause] [Music] it okay the orders are all picked now I've just got to get them packed it is raining so hot outside I don't know if you can hear it so all my orders have been packed I've just dropped them to the post office I've set the reset the bench so there's all clean and reset to zero start again from tomorrow and I had to empty some of the I actually was out of all my blue bags cuz I was using them for the hul so I had to pull some of the books out just to put there just to be able to use some bags to take my shipping to the post office so now it's time to start on all of this the way I'm going to start to process this order is I'm going to start piling up some of the non-fiction books there that I automatically can see their books that I want to list some of them I will know just by looking with my eye whether or not their books I'm going to list some of them I'm going to need to price comp I'm going to put like a pile down here which is going to be the ones that I'm not sure about so I'm going to definitely run some comps on those ones so I'm going to start kind of working my way through this picking out the non-fiction and then I'll be out to start on the actual fiction books that she's got here some of them are actually bundled the thing about Jess is she because these were listed in her eBay store she had little um this one's just broken in the thing but she had little pieces of paper around them of of things that she obviously had listed as bundles it's really handy for me because there's a lot less sorting for me because I can already see the things that she's had bundled up so it's just a matter of checking them whether or not I want the same bundles in my store and going from [Music] there okay so it doesn't take very long I've quickly piled up here here four piles of books that I can see by eye that I'm going to photograph and list in my store so before I do any more on all of this and create any more mess what I'm going to do is I'm actually just going to quickly photograph all of these as fast as I can so that I freed up that bench space and then I'll start that process again so what I've done is I so I found a free shelf over there which is gg4 so I put gg4 on a little thing here so after every single photo that I take of the book I just take a photo of the Shelf number so I know exactly where that book is going so when I list it I put it into the skew system so I know where to pick the book from when it [Music] [Music] sells okay done that next to step I'm getting really hungry I don't know if you can hear it it's pouring with rain but I'm thinking about running across getting some lunch before I start the next load okay so there's a little bit of walk space but the table's getting very full and I've had to stack some down here on this sh just while I'm pulling them out cuz I'm really just looking for the non-fiction at the moment so I've just created a fifth part uh five piles here and I'm going to get ready to photograph this slot now look at the size of this big boy right that sounds terrible now look at the size of this big book guys this needs a different shelf oh me well another bench done okay I'm going to keep looking for some more non-fiction and see if I can col this down even more okay I've just photographed the third Stacks the third lots and I'm I'm done for the day oh my back is killing me today I don't know why today's only a short day in the warehouse I've got my kids this week so I've got to get home cook dinner I've also got two Facebook Market Marketplace pickups to collect and those are for Tom not for me don't worry I'm not getting additional stock while I'm still processing this got two CD hules to pick up for him on my way home and what else have I got to do I've still got to do my listing for the day I'm going to get some of that listed um at least 50 items listed tonight and I've got to finish off a video that I was making yesterday which is going live tomorrow so I've got a busy night I probably won't go to bed till about 11:00 p.m. and I'll get back up in the morning and I'll hopefully be out here again by 6:30 so it's Tuesday I've just picked and packed all my orders gone to the post office and now back in the warehouse to keep tackling to keep processing this order and get some more photos done and let's go I've just been looking through it and I think I did most of the non-fiction yesterday so I think today I'm going to start doing some of the bundles seeing if the same bundles that she had together are bundles that I want to put into my store and if they're not seeing if there's other ones that I can create with some of this fiction cuz there's a lot of low-end fiction in this haul and some of it's not worth listing for me anyway in my store as an individual basis well it always looks like you're creating more mess but I'm actually got things in order here okay so this table here is all small fiction now these these are like the small novels and I just find they don't sell very well on an individual basis they don't even sell great for me in bundles unless they are sci-fi or fantasy or Warhammer or something like that what I find is like the general crime Thriller you you know the romance the the little Mills and Boon they do they do well but I just find these ones they don't and there's not enough of the same there's a few here like this one has got four of him but I just feel like these are not worth listing in my store so what I'm going to do is I've laid them all out like this I'm going to take a photo of them and I'm going to put them onto Facebook Marketplace and I'm just going to try and sell this there's like 140 of them I'm just going to try and sell them for like $25 so down there I've just put all those small fiction that are on the table I'm going to list those on Facebook I'm going to give them a week at the max cuz I don't want them in here so they've got a week and if they don't sell they're being donated now I'm going to do the exact same thing with all the mediumsized um fiction as well this stuff is actually in really really nice Condition it's just not profitable enough to sell this individually like the the large fiction size I would I I would list some of that I guess but this stuff it's just it's just not for me like I'm just looking at trying to get those higher metrics now and it's not for me so I'm going to do the same thing that was the Facebook small now I'm going to do the Facebook medium what I'm doing here is I'm just trying to separate it like crime and Thriller into like women's chicklet romance I feel like if I'm going to put some bundles up on Facebook Marketplace if I can separate the genres it will be better guys I'm starting to fade it's like mentally draining like I I got a headache it's mentally draining looking at all these books and doing the pick and the C by your eye and there's you know like the the majority of them I know of my eye if these are going to be worth money or not and the ones that I don't you know I set aside so that I can look at them but the warehouse is hot in here today it's really really muggy and hot I feel like I've got a headache I'm drinking so much water I'm having to go to the toilet every 5 minutes but I I'm feeling like I'm fading and I still got to go home and list um and do dinner and all that other stuff so I think I'm going to what I'm going to do actually is put all these medium ones here that I want to loot up for Facebook Marketplace but I want to do that in a couple of lots all the ones in the floor I just don't like them like the pile is getting smaller and smaller but they're still spread out here so what I'm actually going to do I've got more bags here these have all been sorted now so all the ones that are on the ground here are all just regular large fiction the ones in the bookcase there that I've stacked there they're the non-fiction so basically I've just separated the non-fiction and the fiction cuz the non-fiction is sometimes where I get a little bit stuck and I need to do some more price comping but generally with the fiction I can look at it by eye and know just whether or not it's regular bread and butter and whether or not I want it or not so so what I'm going to do I've got the non-fiction there I'm going to put all the fiction Into the Blue bags and neatly pop them here and then I've got my packing benches are a nightmare they're full of bundles that are all ready to photograph I just don't have the energy to photograph those today so I'm going to get all this neatly off the floor and then tomorrow when I come in here I'm going to photograph that lot and then I'll start working through this fiction and non-fiction lot it's just a it's just a step by step it's you know I knew when I got this haul it would be a week's job and I'm on day two and I I'm still thinking it's probably a week's job so at least at least 5 days anyway so I'm [Music] sweet [Music] so it's Wednesday day three of tackling the hul let me show you so yesterday I packed all those up I've got seven bags there of fiction got two bags under there of non-fiction these are the medium ones that I want to go through and probably led up for Facebook Marketplace still got some non-fiction over there plus I've got all these bundles waiting to photograph and I've just started you can see I've got some just photographed these ones got some more here and when I dropped the post off this morning Tom and I stopped at the thrift shop and that's what I bought so I've got more it's a bit noisy outside of the warehouses today so I hope you can hear me okay but I don't like the packing benches like this I had to pack my orders this morning and I had to like do it around this and it reminded me of the old times and I don't like it so first things first because I already know that I want to list all these items they're all bundles those are the things that are on my priority list today I have to photograph the the packing benches now so I'm going to I've got a podcast I'm about to listen to It's about productivity I'm going to go put that in my ears and go on photograph for about an hour so this pros and cons about obtaining another reseller's eBay store when you take it on there's going to be that they've had in their store that's been listed for a long time that is probably not worth listing now because that reseller will have grown since they first started listing items to where they were in their Journey so some of the stuff that we list early on like a couple of years ago sometimes it's not the best we all grow we all learn as we're going and we get better as resellers day by day so you can't expect to take on somebody's store and every single item in that store be like a gold mine it's just not how it happens the other thing is with Jess's store I I didn't see her store before she closed it down so I got no idea kind of how she priced things whether or not she was higher priced lower priced or mid-ranged priced so I know that with some of this stuff that I'm listing of hers it's more towards the lower end of the item so I'll be listing it more on that lower end margin to try and get them to move along because I'm all about the sell through rate especially on the lower priced items if I've got an item that's higher price and going to bring me higher profits then I'm I'm happy to kind of sit a little bit longer but on some of these low rent stuff I want to move that along fast so I'm putting the lower ENT stuff from her store that I think is got a you know a relatively fast sell through rate that I can move along as quickly as possible into my store but um you know it's definitely a lot of work I I don't think I've ever taken on another reseller's actual store like I've bought big holes before but I've never had another reseller's entire store so it's quite interesting to see what another seller sells and how they bundle and how they've been doing [Music] [Music] things there's nothing that some good music can't make you change your mood okay look what I'm up to for the end of day three okay it looks much better than when I first walked in this morning okay benches are clear everything that was on those benches has been photographed and sorted I've taken this from seven bags down to three I've listed quite a lot of it it's only lowend fiction but if it's priced right those kind of books they you know they do sell in my store so the books that she's given me are really good condition so it feels like a waste if I don't list them and I'm still yet to deal with this medium pile that I want a Facebook Marketplace so beins have been emptied everything's reset to zero so I can pack tomorrow found a Taylor Swift book and my daughter loves Taylor Swift so we collect everything that's Taylor Swift nothing that's Taylor Swift will get listed in my store I'm going home for a nice cold beer see you tomorrow for day four day four I'm on the last legs can I finish it today let's go so what I'm doing when I'm on the eBay app price comping is I'm looking at both the number of books that are listed and also are sold because it's it's really important not to just look at the amount sold you need to be looking at both the amount that is listed and is sold so that you can determine the seal through rate on your item you don't want to find an item that's only got one item sold and there's like 20 or 30 items listed that means that item has an extremely low sell through rate it's going to sit in our store for a long time I'm looking for those items that are going to move quickly and they've got the faster s through rate these books here I've just finished price cing all those I don't want any of those books they don't meet the qu the the the metrics the pricing or the sell through rate that I want in my store so Tom's going to take those have a look and see if they meet his and if he doesn't whatever he doesn't want we will red donate or we will sell in a lot on Facebook marketplace now this is the lot of mediumsized novels and I've just taken photos of this and I've just listed it on the local buy and sell group so hopefully that will move on I'm going to pack that into the boxes here here if nobody wants that I'll give it a week if nobody wants that then maybe I'll make up some mixed ass sorted bundles and give them a go I don't think they'll do very well on eBay but otherwise they'll get red donated down there that's all the small fiction another lot that I put on Facebook Marketplace all the other books have been processed these piles here are the ones that I've left out waiting to photograph I've made up three big stacks of just assorted medium fiction that is kind of like really women's chick lick romance kind of It's all under the same theme I'll put them up there the books cost me they came for free so obviously there's no cost of goods to make these big bundles so I I'll see how they go I'm going to put on the music again to pump through this [Music] fast [Music] [Applause] [Music] the best thing about being a woman is her prerogative to have a little [Music] fun oh totally crazy dance want to dance with I want to feel somebody who loves me I need a man oh want to dance with somebody want to dance say you want to dance Jo you want to dance you want to dance don't you w to dance I did it oh four days did it that is the fastest I've ever processed a haul of that size 4 days amongst doing all my other stuff last night I was actually up to midnight guys by the time I left here and I still had all my listing I didn't go to bed I was listing up till midnight I'm back here at 7:00 this morning so I think what I've learned from this is 4 days everything is done two lots for Facebook Marketplace if they're not sold within a week they're gone what I've learn is but you just got to get in here and you got to pull some extra hours when you get these big halls in because otherwise they just drag on and they take too long and they get into space and if I wasn't pushing hard on these hules then it could take a couple of weeks and you know in the meantime I want to get out there I want to get back to sourcing the stuff that I actually want to choose and the stuff that I want to cherry pick from the shops and the stuff is actually worth a little bit more money there was a lot of lowend stuff in
