I renovated this brownstone apartment in The Sims 4

the other day it was announced that the Sims 4 growing together is coming to the Sims 4 that will be the next expansion pack coming to the game I'm so excited and it was also announced that I had a part in building some of it so I did uh three of the builds in the upcoming expansion pack and I just want to say thank you so much for the beautiful beautiful heartwarming supportive comments like it was so nice to read them all and I just appreciate it so much and I really hope that I do you guys proud and I will be having some videos showing the process of doing the builds from early in development so I'm excited to share that with you too so if you haven't already subscribe for those videos and thank you for your support anyway today we are going to be doing some building that's the teeth and you remember this family over here the hecking household with Brandt and Brent and Little Rosie well I thought that we would give them an apartment I kind of made this storyline in my head that Brandt I mean Brent's who is a painter he's got a new art critic role in San marcino so I thought I'd make them a really cool apartment um but let's just quickly remind ourselves what kind of family they are and then we can make the apartment especially for them life in their new home uh-oh so they moved into this new home and now they're moving again it's temporary you guys seems to agree with newly red Sprint and Brent the small town bustle inspires Brent's painting and Brant loves to explore the Bay's beautiful neighborhoods but will they ever agree on who gets to take their beloved Rosie with them I just I love this couple so much and I just want to build an apartment for them and we actually have a budget of 64 000 smallones holy moly they are loaded how much is a penthouse we'd have 80 000 simoleons oh my God we could actually move into the penthouse that's wild I feel like they would live in a classic Brownstone apartment and also just because you have the money it doesn't mean you have to spend it all okay I'm actually kind of liking the spice District just because the apartment has more of a classic look to it and I'm wondering if we shift out these guys but I'm liking the shape of this apartment and I think there might be some angular walls and I'm actually not sure if we've ever renovated this before so I think it's time I'm sorry Raj and Gina but you are the weakest link do you guys remember that sure that sure was crazy I feel like it wasn't an Australian show like we had an Australian version but surely it came from somewhere else and they'd be like you are the weakest link this is the weekly rent of 1200 Samoans with a deposit um let's sell our furniture and we're gonna have 63 000. no oh my gosh we're gonna have 108 000 simoleons well you know they could put that into Rosie's trust fund what does Brandt do Brandt is a collector oh into fitness all right Mixology photography as a personal trainer okay so we could add some gym equipment and yes Brent is the painter I wonder where they got all their money from don't mean to pry but I'm like they're pretty young they had a pretty epic house I'm just saying all right do we want to make any changes to this floor plan oh and I have a new CC pack by pierre-azim that they just released that I think will be perfect oh here we go yeah so they have like these really cool kind of mid-century in my opinion looking couches or maybe just comfy looking couches but then there's this kind of designer looking furniture this chair is pretty iconic um these like metal things that you can stack they are modular they're probably a designer item as well I'm not sure and these really cool tables wow that matches the flooring perfectly oh wow I love that yeah I feel like this would be really cool and it's actually called David's apartment so I'll link it in the description down below and this is the only custom content we are using today the rest will be Maxis I also love that there's like a closed laptop here Sim book but then there's also the working open ones too oh this is a TV that's kind of cool because I mean a lot of people use their laptop as a TV saves having to buy a TV there's some really cool paintings as well these shelves are really beautiful too so I think we can get really creative with that I'm pretty happy with that um and this is the first part of this collection so I actually think prism may end up having more parts to the collection focusing on each room per each release let's start off with putting down some placeholder furniture and the reason why I do this is because I feel like great way to figure out the floor plan essentially so this isn't going to necessarily be the final Furniture we use but instead it's Furniture we're utilizing to just figure out our our different spaces so probably nice dining table could go here we might even be able to put in a bar I don't know why I said it like that like it's really cheeky a Cheeky Bar you guys remember this shirt Bubba with the elephant that was such a beautiful shirt so we could put kind of a bar Stitch over here I just don't like that it doesn't really work with the angles but you know we'll think about it we'll think about it and then in here could be the kitchen so I actually think it would make sense to open up this wall and have the lounge room separated or you could keep the wall there and put like an archway and a little window in so we could work with traditional looking archways like this not sure about this walkway we've got going on oh wow I can't remember if this was two bathroom or just one bathroom the issue that I have with this room right here is that there's no windows and I just feel like that's really sad so I would rather this be a bathroom okay I'm really thinking about this in a big way right now because I realize we don't have Windows in this area of the house so it doesn't make sense to me to have a bedroom over here so I'm thinking we put both bathrooms the main bathroom here the ensuite to the master bedroom here so they're okay without windows and then we'd have two bedrooms because I feel like an apartment this big you need more than one bedroom two bedrooms one two one we'll use as an art space but now it's like where does the kitchen girl where does the lounge room go do we do dining and Kitchen in here does the kitchen go over here now I mean we could have a formal dining space and like a breakfast bar here at this nice bay window oh my gosh you guys I am so silly I didn't realize this room was attached it's a whole other room here with two windows are you kidding me gosh how many how long have you guys been yelling at the screen for wow well this this definitely does change things I mean look I feel like this is a pretty good floor plan but the only thing I'm thinking is the kitchen could go in this rectangular space and this could be really nice bedroom I had such a nice floor plan going here we even had some room for laundry too hey we've got more room now because I was thinking this is a really weird shape for a kitchen so let's just say the kitchen could go in here I mean this could also just be another bedroom we could do like a guest bedroom or baby nursery I spent so long figuring out this floor plan as well well it would be nice if the windows were a little bit more centered and not squished into a corner I mean this makes more sense being a master bedroom because there are some windows here you can move the lounge room across I'm kind of in the mood for mustard colors I have like a little dining space at the windows here I mean the couch could also face this way I reckon we could open up this kitchen like this maybe do a U-shaped kitchen oh actually we have enough room to do an L shape with an island whoa all I can think about is how much this would cost to have in real life in a brownstone apartment I love how the Sims can get these beautiful homes for a more affordable price really is a dream part of me wants to put a column here I don't know what I feel like it makes the space more believable I'm leaving a bit of space here for a trash can and then maybe a fridge can go around the corner so it's a little bit hidden bit of a rustic charm here maybe this wall can have tiles could Art Deco work in this apartment I kind of have this idea of a yellowy doldy color kind of like the couch well maybe this brownie you know I tried but it just wasn't gonna happen so I love this new NightLight so much like I feel like I'm using it all the time now it's just such a perfect little Golden Light you know I want to get some more gold accents into this place or let's put some golden lights in not sure about the white bricks along here Safety First folks let's put in a fire alarm we can hide it on the back of that pillar we put a nice fun colored fridge in there too and we will be able to use the new toilet oh funny getting excited about using a toilet roll actually we can probably add in some more of these storage items are here good just I actually think these chairs are probably a better fit in this in this interior what do we think about this wall color did we want to go darker or gray or why I kind of feel like the the lighter color looks better but in the lounge room this color looks better maybe I should just go back to the white bricks we have there don't you love how just plants make everything look 10 times better as soon as you put a plant in bam looks amazing I'm actually kind of into using the lighter Colors oh I can keep it on the DL maybe we should do that I love this lamp yes and I think these books actually fit perfectly on these shelves yeah you can fit them side by side if you want to but this one here like a painting on it I might I'm gonna say do I want to size that down it looks a little big in that corner oh why don't we go this shelf so it's a little bit thinner and size down the paint not quite right that's okay we've got beautiful Maxes that can use as well folks not a problem oh that's pretty cool actually that works having this back wall is the brick these teeth creep me out every time I see them I tell told you guys now that we have light switches I'm gonna have to start using them how could you do this to me Sims now I can't stop placing light switches I just remembered we got these beautiful pendant lights in this CC pack so we should use those but I also think that the Eco lifestyle too oh pretty and nice okay I think the lounge room is looking really good I'm a little bit unsure about this wool right here like it almost feels like it needs to be colored or more textured then I don't want to go to overboard you know I mean that is kind of cool it's a really tough goal you guys even the blue kind of looks cool I actually think I really like the blue I think this room right here could be the studio then again this room is so big kind of like this could be a really good master bedroom you know what let's keep this the master because it's easy having this ensuite here and then we'll turn this into an art studio and this will be bear veg built in a wardrobe in Korea I think for the office slash Studio slash little workout space we don't need too much workout gear because you can go to the gym but maybe a few of the new clutter workout items would be good also I can't believe how tired I am today today was the day that I did my first workout in quite a while and whenever I haven't worked out for ages and I go back to a workout afterwards I'm absolutely spent like exhausted it's like I have to get back my fitness again I don't know if you guys have the same thing I love these wireframes they're so cool for some reason I'm thinking about dusting them they probably wouldn't get much duster I don't know why I think about these things there's another little bit of workout kit stuff right like a Pilates mat am I imagining this ah here it is the Kettlebell lucky we have a big budget because this Sim Book Pro is 8 500 simoleons oh that's wild this is the first time I'm being careful with our budget I really am so obsessed with apartments right now like I'm not even doing these because they're being requested all the time I'm also doing this just because I really am in an apartment mood what happened like I feel like some of you guys are in the same headspace why are we suddenly into Apartments actually I'm gonna use these shelves instead because I just feel like suits the room better like we're gonna need some bookshelves in the office and we definitely need a cute little bed over here for their doggy as well do a little bit there and I think we need one in the main bedroom too we'll put a little something over here put a little bit more room where the Wardrobe is like that may as well use that space in the ensuite too I'm gonna hold out hold out hold alts down I think these paintings are really cool do we have a TV in the bedroom let's do it I never do this let's just live a little we always have Bowser's beds at the end of our bed okay part of me is feeling like this TV is too narrow I don't know why it just doesn't seem quite right like the TV unit is too nerd what about a marble moment yeah like that or in the black yeah I kind of like the brown oh oh the teal yes the teal what is this little piece of paper does anyone know what that's meant to be I did not think that money would ever be a problem in this build but you guys we have 23 000 Millions to furnish two bathrooms with that's actually not that much I might have to use some of the cheaper items or am I thinking more of real life money maybe I'm thinking of like how much it would cost in real life to do a book because this isn't that bathroom like twenty thousand dollars I guess in Australian dollars and also in Australia Australia is very expensive to get things built in to some other countries I mentioned this all the time do you like a sink curve here I think and then over here could be the shower actually a weird shape but kind of a good shape it works do we dare go for something like this that's expensive oh we could do a half ball or we could actually do a full wall here's the new towel rack these towels look so old and brown a lot of them oh this one's a good one I really like that they have a version of the towels that are kind of messed up as well this is like James's towels and these are my towels I've actually never had a plunger in my bathroom I don't think and my sister's always telling me it's really important that everyone has a plunger never needed one all this bathroom stuff is so good it's like all really cluttered like a bathroom in real life and we'll have two Shavers isn't his no and that cable and the hairdryer looks pretty good on the bench because usually it's a bit too 2D looking for my liking but it works here okay so that's the ensuite how are we going oh we've still got 20 000 simole and okay I was really thinking about like the real world how much a bathroom costs what could cost what do you guys think do you think twenty thousand dollars for a full bathroom renovation is about right I feel like that's what it would be in Australia but I don't know because I've never renovated a bathroom it's a lot should we put a bath in this main bathroom I feel like having a bath in an apartment is even more luxurious than having it in a house I forgot about our light switches no like this is like a whole new thing a whole new thing I feel like I have to do in every single room now gosh dang it Sims how could you do this to me I was going to put a laundry in here but I think this is okay I like how this is going does it make sense to have two basins in here no it doesn't okay maybe we should put a laundry in here but then we need to have laundry baskets kind of annoying so maybe we do think about having a shower in here okay who wants their toilet facing the door nobody wants that I mean if you do that's fine but why why would you want that and this is the main bathroom so we're gonna make this one look more clean because this is potentially what is that a marble dang this is potentially what guests would use this is just asking for a fiddly fig right there I was just asking for it you guys wondering where these tiles are from they're from Dino they're really handy handy dandy tile like an old trusty oh look at that beautiful bathroom okay I think this is all finished okay so welcome home Little Rosie welcome to your new city life it's a big change from the country of brindleton Bay oh Big Stretch that's better oh nice extension I always say that to my dog palette this is the entrance and you know what this actually looks really good I felt like this floor plan was really difficult at the start but I'm really pleased with how it turned out especially when we realized there was an extra room AKA when I realized there was an extra room because you guys knew the whole time probably I absolutely love this CC by Prism I think it's so great really really nice couch I love that golden color golden greeny mustard golden mustard really cool and I've got to say it's quite the change from their previous Hampton style house I might need to redo that house like I feel like it's not how I imagine friends and Brands to be the little dog area in the corner for feeding this is our pretend bench and dining area you can easily just put chairs there if you want then the kitchen the kitchen fit really perfectly back here in this area I think that looks really good and I just much prefer this floor plan to be honest we go through here this is the studio computer area Brandt's already getting down to work in there we've got some easels a couple of desks and of course a workout station and a really cool bookshelf which looks awesome it's all the Clutter on it and going back through the lounge room let's go into the next bedroom so this is the guest bedroom I did this kind of off camera I did do this off camera it's just very simple there's nothing like crazy or special about it it's just a nice place to be and I thought being dog lovers a dog picture on the wall would make sense fun retro keyboard so excited to have a standing piano coming in the next pack too I don't know if you guys spotted that in the trailer here's the main bathroom I was tempted to change the wallpaper but in the end I thought nah we'll just we'll just keep it simple this would also be a great family home that studio could be a bedroom for two kids I would say all right in here's the master bedroom this is a little bit more lighter and brighter uh just because there was only one small window I feel like we should open that up with white paint and white curtains um and I love this teal TV area then in here is the ensuite area with twin Shavers a little shower in there it's kind of glitching out and yeah I think this is a great house for these guys they look awesome oh and it looks like the neighbors there I love how the dog goes out to meet the neighbor but they're like yeah no we're fine our country introvert's okay I think Brandt's
