a lot of people consider Michael Jordan to be the greatest of all time no it's it's going to be mg but at the same time there's plenty of reasons to ask is Kobe better is there somebody that's close to Kobe no so in order to settle the debate we're putting both of them back in the NBA Jordan's being drafted with a second pick to Charlotte and Kobe's heading to Portland with the third let their rookie Seasons begin [Applause] [Music] [Applause] as you can see both players have had no trouble adjusting to the league with Kobe averaging 22 and Jordan averaging 24 to win Rookie of the Year Kobe's season might have been more interesting though as Damian Lillard has been traded away officially making him the face of the franchise it's a really good start for the both of them since the first player to win five championships will be crowned the greatest of all time and eventually when you think of the NBA You'll Think of Jordan and Kobe but that's going to have to wait a while because in their first Seasons they both missed the playoffs but that's far from a reason to panic and after a long off season of training both would raise the rookie ratings of an 85 to an 89 which would pay off in their second season Kobe's moving up to 24 points per game while Jordan's falling just short of 26 but while Jordan scoring more Kobe's winning more as he will lead the Hornets to a 42-in season to make it to the playoffs for the first time while Jordan shockingly only won 36 missing it entirely Kobe and Portland snuck into the playoffs as the seventh seed Jordan is nowhere to be found and while Kobe would surely be sent home at the hands of John Moran it's increasingly clear at this point that he's farther ahead than Jordan would be spending even more hours in the gym trying to catch up and just as a reminder the first of five championships wins but for him it might be extra meaningful since he's playing for his hometown team who to this point have no titles in their history Kobe's situation is much different though as he's the successor to Damian Lillard who is unable to bring a title to Portland each have a different source of motivation but their goals are the same and with both reaching 94 overall they've solidified themselves as Superstars but most importantly both were able to make it to the playoffs they both made it to the playoffs that's progress but they're at the bottom of the conference so I don't really know what to make of this and at least for Jordan my doubts would prove to be true as he would struggle and get sent home by the Magic in the first round on the other hand though Kobe would be taking down Wendy and the Spurs to make it to the second round against OKC and while this wound up being the end of the line once again he's made it farther than Jordan Kobe's been eliminated but he made it to the second round this time last season was the first round it's so obvious he's making way more progress in Jordan and it's especially confusing since Kobe's best teammate is Tyler hero while Jordan's is a mellow Bowl it really makes no sense as to why he's struggling this hard but there's nothing he can really do other than put his head down and train for what seemed like forever coming out bald in the process but while he lost in follicles he gained in basketball ability moving up to 30 points per game and he's also finally developing some chemistry with lamelo ball forming possibly the best backcourt in the league eventually leading the Hornets to the second seed but don't forget about Kobe who's also causing Havoc out west as both players would dominate their way through the playoffs with both making the Conference Finals if both of them win their matchups they're meeting in the finals and Jordan would be doing his part destroying the Cavs in five games to make it to his first Finals a massive improvement from the last few seasons but on the other hand Kobe would be struggling to get past the Thunder and Shay who have an impressive Squad of their own Kobe's doing his best but in the end it wasn't enough he would shockingly miss out on the finals and have to watch Jordan from home we're gonna have to wait a little bit for that Jordan Kobe matchup and at this point Jordan and lamello are in full control they would dominate the first three games of the series to take a 3-0 lead and after a slight roadblock in game 4 where they wound up losing the Passover to Martin the Passover to no way Aaron Gordon crazy for that he what Jordan and lamella would return to Charlotte to finish the job with Jordan specifically closing out the series with 38 points bringing his hometown Hornets the first title and striking first in the race to five championships only time will tell how Kobe will respond because he might be making some drastic moves in the future if this keeps up with that being said though after yet another off-season of work he would finally hit 98 overall reaching another level in the regular season to average 32 points per game just to get eliminated in the second round by the Sacramento Kings I don't know what happened to Kobe he's kind of slumping eliminated second round on the other hand though Jordan would ironically demolish the Pistons Cavs and Knicks putting him in the position to win his second Title Jordan has completely come back it was looking rough for him at the start he's heading to his second finals but it's only getting harder from here as he would be heading to San Antonio to face Victor wanbanyama in the finals the man who was drafted over both him and Kobe it's a battle between two of the Premier players in the entire league and as you would expect Bulls would go back and forth but eventually one would start to pull away and that would be Jordan who wouldn't the series tied 2-2 would dominate in game 5 to take a 3-2 lead Jordan's one game away from his second title and right now it's looking fantastic for Jordan as he would go on the road in San Antonio dropping a 30-point triple-double inching closer and closer to a second title but Wendy isn't going down that easily as he would show the world why he went number one over Jordan stealing the game back to force game seven oh bro we're going to game seven we're going to game seven Wendy against Jordan and fortunately for Jordan game 7 would be played on his home floor which is a major advantage wemby of course is not going down that easily but Jordan would have the slight edge with a three-point lead with two minutes left if he wins here he's winning his second title pass down to wemby oh my God they almost stole it okay less than two minutes left wemby has 25 Jordan has 40. pass it's about to be passed over to Jordan I feel it nope lamello's gonna take it himself he's blocked by wemby but a foul he made the first mellow second free throw good three-point lead for Charlotte they do throw it down to Wendy in the post a mismatch that is wow who is guarding him bro he is way too short they're about to pass it to Jordan lamelo Jordan was bro Jordan was so wide open is it the lamello show lamel oh my God a horrible shot from lamelo Wendy was a chance to put the Hornets away into the post another layup bro who's stopping that and that's the first lead for the Spurs bro they might come back and win Jordan might lose in the final so mellow with the ball over to Jordan finally gets a touch down the stretch the spin move in the paint Jordan's blocked just an absolute disaster class from the Hornets down the stretch and they foul assuming he makes both free throws they can still top the game he missed the first rebound second free throw eventually it's good all right here we go Charlotte calls their final timeout with the finals on the line 24 seconds left on the clock Jordan with the chance to go up two on Kobe and lamello does not want to pass him the ball lamello oh my God is that nazri no way oh my God Jordan didn't even get the ball and after Wendy hit a couple free throws it was officially over Jordan's blown a 3-2 lead to losing the finals which could have some major consequences down the line as the race between him and Kobe is still just one nothing Kobe's somewhere in the crowd cheering right now and now since we're entering season six let's take a quick look at what each player is working with Kobe is now a 99 overall with his second best player being Tyler hero but he also has a really good Supporting Cast that should help him win a title sooner than later on the other hand though Jordan who's also a 99 is peridable domelo who's a whopping 95 but unlike Kobe his Supporting Cast is awful which would show when the season started back up as well as good as Jordan is he would only make it to the playoffs as a fourth seed and get eliminated first round Jordan first round done while Kobe on the other hand would dominate the regular season averaging over 30 points per game and with the help of his Supporting Cast they would win an insane 64 games with Kobe taking home some Hardware Kobe won his first MVP can he turn it around though and he would quickly answer that question destroying everyone in the playoffs scoring from everywhere on the court until eventually he's got 11 seconds until he makes it to the finals and after those 11 seconds Kobe will be heading to Milwaukee for the finals and while they do have an impressive Squad Kobe's averaging well over 30 points per game in this playoff run defeating the Bucks in five games to win his first title Kobe Champion boom done and with that Championship Kobe's tying up the series Once one making Jordan's finals lost from earlier even more of a massive blow with that being said both players are now 99 overalls so now when you think of the NBA you think of Jordan and Kobe but there's an interesting turn of events because while those two are dominating as usual it would be Jordan's sidekick lamello standing out with a 30-point double-double to shockingly win his first MVP no idea why he's wearing 14. I will fix that but yeah there's two MVPs on the Hornets and at this point the Blazers and the Hornets are the two best teams in the league with the two best players in the league and as you would expect they would dominate their way through the early rounds of the playoffs with nobody letting up it seems like nobody could beat the two players but at some point someone has to lose and the way that's going to be decided is with them meeting in the finals for the first time and to really emphasize the situation Jordan and lamella won 61 games this season while Kobe and his Supporting Cast won 63. it couldn't be a more evenly matched finals but at some point someone has to strike first and it would be Jordan who would have 40 points to lead the Hornets to a game one win and he did it on the road as well and he would keep it up in game two with 42 more points and when you tack on some of lamelo's contributions it's increasingly clear that they're going up 2-0 in the series they won two games on the road bro that's insane the series would then shift to Charlotte though and I can't stress this enough Kobe's season is on the line if he loses here he's going down 3-0 which would pretty much end the series on the spot it's literally the most important game he's played to date but he would eventually answer the call with a 39 Point performance to keep his season alive making the series 2-1 but game 4 wouldn't be as easy as lamello and Jordan would once again bounce back Kobe's playing well by himself but it doesn't seem like the depth of the team is really helping him out right now as the Hornets would eventually pull away late eventually putting the Blazers in desperation mode dude I wasn't even like ready to commentate what just happened Jordan would now be walking out of Charlotte with a 3-1 lead and at this point as good as Kobe is it seems like he's met his match Jordan was shortly after finish the job in game five blowing out the Blazers on the road to win his second Championship ultimately lifting the trophy on Kobe's home floor Kobe's working extremely hard we all know this but he's falling behind 2-1 in the series and it's also important to mention that he only has one year left on his contract he's now entering his eighth season and if it doesn't go well he might not be in Portland for long Kobe's hinting that he could leave in free agency it might happen and it's not looking too good for him because Jordan would be overshadowing him once again winning his second MVP it seems like he might be pulling away from Kobe or at least it did until he got eliminated second round Jordan's MVP clearly was fake as hell so now the spotlight is back on Kobe he's down 2-1 to Jordan in the race to five and needs to take advantage of this opportunity which he would do destroying everyone in the playoffs to then head to Brooklyn for the finals where he would continue to dominate taking a commanding 3-0 lead seems like if it's not sure Jordan in the finals Kobe's got it and just as he's done the entire season Kobe will close out the Nets on the road finishing with 44 points to capture his second title tying him up with Jordan in the race to five it was one of the most dominant Seasons we've seen from either star but now we're at a critical point because Kobe's now a free agent and while most players would just run it back with a championship team Kobe would leave shockingly heading to Minnesota to play with two aging but solid players in Brandon Ingram and Jaron Jackson but before we find out what happens to him let's check in on Jordan who's being eliminated early on yet again but Kobe shockingly would have no problems he would eliminate his former team the Trailblazers in the first round Kobe might have made the Smart Choice I'm not gonna lie and then dominate the next two rounds once again to make it to his third straight finals and first with the Timberwolves Kobe made it where he would dominate averaging 35 points per game to take a 3-2 lead he's one game away man and pretty much close out the series in game six with 33 points and after this shot 35 about to get the screen from Jaron Jackson the mid-range he's not missing that one all culminating in him winning his second trade title with two different teams who will probably go up three to two in the race to five it's pretty clear that Jordan's last Dollar's momentum and at this point him and lamello hate one another and with his contract expiring he would also be making a move taking his talents to South Beach both players have now left their original teams in search of a fresh start but now we're about to find out who made the better decision because after both stormed their way through the playoffs they would meet in the finals for the second time and just to refresh her memory it was Jordan who had the best of Kobe several seasons ago but a lot has changed since then as Kobe has won the last two titles and he would keep it up in the rematch slightly out playing Jordan to take a 3-2 lead but game six would be played in Miami and Jordan's not letting himself be sent home just yet Kobe's guarding him but it really didn't matter Jordan would have 37 points well into the fourth quarter and after this shot 39 Jordan elbow pull-up it's good I think we're going to game seven unless some miracle happens and there was no Miracle the NBA Finals would be heading to a decisive game seven Kobe will now try to bounce back from this loss to win his fourth title while Jordan's trying to tie it up at three apiece we're undoubtedly in for for a classic that will be replayed decades from now and as usual both stars are going off Kobe's putting on a show for the home fans while Jordan's completely unfazed by the boobs but eventually someone has to lose and the way that's going to be decided will be with the final four minutes of game seven Jordan with the ball Jordan about to take the shot free throw line jumper over three people he misses it Kobe with the ball about to get the screen from the center he drives the free throw line pulls up over three just like Jordan did but he made it Jordan with the ball trying to take the lead he gets the screen from the center he drives left he pulls up at the elbow the beautiful that's a that's a that's a beautiful pass Kobe in the post Kobe trying to score on Jordan that is the matchup we want to see he Fades away on the Baseline falling out of bounds we have a tie game oh my God oh my God bro what kind of pass what kind of pass that could honestly decide the series Jordan with the ball trying to get it back guarded by Kobe one of the top offensive players and okay I was gonna say top defensive but you might have found Jordan made both free throws yet again we have a tie game Kobe's about to get another screen driving left pulls up for three this time and drains it okay well that could honestly that could decide the entire race not just the series oh my God Jordan's folding unbelievable stuff from Kobe Kobe driving to the basket oh my God I thought he was about a yam it meanwhile Jordan's not even hiding the fact that he's frustrated by his teammates Kobe is hitting both free throws and now we have a five point game here we go not much time left for Miami they're about to give it to Jordan Jordan in the I don't know that's a travel like he traveled like five times in that possession but we'll roll with it Kobe with the ball Kobe not even thinking about passing it bro that is a wild shot to take with that much time left on the clock Jordan with the ball Jordan with the pass over to the corner and it works out for oh my God okay well it's not this is literally the most Wild game I've ever seen in my life Jordan Driving left I mean Kobe cope oh my God oh my God he hit the back of the backboard what is happening right now Jordan with the ball Jordan driving right Jordan pulls up that's a horrible shot he missed it bro for the championship are we about to see a game winner for the championship we're about to pass it down to Kobe I've seen this play a million times Kobe in the post Kobe close to the basket supposed to do something or going to do something he draws the foul Kobe first free throw horrible camera angle it's good Kobe second free throw good camera angle it's good and now Miami will call their final timeout they're down to with 10 seconds left everyone in the stadium knows the ball is going to Jordan last chance for Miami Jordan trying to save Kobe with the steal oh my God bro go donk it what are you doing oh my God that is the worst joke and my speechlessness was well warranted out of all the plays we've seen from Kobe who would have thought his most iconic would be on the defensive end he's pretty much sealed the championship and Jordan knows it too he's pissed at his teammates and he's letting them know Kobe would go to the line sink the free throws and win his fourth title making at 4-2 in the race to five and as for Jordan he's cooked the Miami team chemistry would be completely destroyed after his outburst and he wouldn't really make too much noise after that and while it took Kobe four more years he would eventually find himself back in the finals against the wild Philly team who are you people who he would easily take care of averaging his usual 30 points per game Kobe I saw one more shot for the title step back on the Baseline it's good eventually sweeping the finals winning his fifth Championship officially making him the greatest of all time but is Kobe good enough to beat someone better than Jordan maybe someone like LeBron James games to find out the answer to that question and see if Kobe can take down yet another star click the video on the screen [Music]
