I Lived Out Of This Bag For a Month... LTT Backpack Review

the LTT backpack has had a controversial life with warrantygate and a recall on the zipper pulse while the product was still on back order it makes you wonder how can this thing have thousands of reviews and most of them really positive it's 250 dollars for crying out loud does it deserve a gold star or is this just another rabid fan base in his own Echo chamber hyping things up like some kind of cryptocurrency scam well it did get me through 35 days in Japan I've hiked with it biked with it ridden Transit and after using it for these months I think it's finally time for me to share my thoughts just like it's time to share my thoughts about our sponsor my YouTube channel I've got a lot of other content on YouTube so go check it out when you're done with this video or even just leave a like it would help me out massively so I'm going to start by evaluating the claims linuses made about the backpack and how they hold up and first of all we have durability as somebody who's pretty hard on my bag I have to say I think we have a real winner here this is my only bag in my 35 day trip to Japan and I even made videos while I was there I made a packing video too so go check that out if you're interested in how I fit everything I did all kinds of things on that trip that would be hard on a backpack and it held up really well I mean it still looks new one of the things I love is the use of metal for the strap adjusters they don't always stay exactly where you want and don't worry we're going to talk about the fit later but the advantage is they're not going to break I've had plastic versions of this type of clip break on me in the past so it's really reassuring the pockets are supposed to be thoughtfully designed and I can say this is hands down the best pocket experience I've ever had with a bag it's like they designed it with things people actually carry in mind and it's really refreshing the battery Bank pocket is really nice with the ability to just slip your battery back in here and pull the cable out to charge something if you need it the main compartment or bag of holding as it's called is really nice because unlike other bags that I've had in the past that have smaller more segmented main compartments this can compartment is big and it can pretty much hold anything that you need I love the laptop compartment that has an accordion style opening it makes it so much easier to get in there if you need to pull something out or put something back in but I think my all-time favorite pocket is this pocket right here the front pocket I use it for toiletries when I travel and it's really nice when your toothpaste inevitably slips to the bottom to just open this up and be greeted by the friendly mesh pocket the only major criticism I have is that the secret passport pocket is almost impossible to get to if you fill your bag up all the way there's just not enough room for your fingers now that being said I don't think they really want you to fill your bag to 110 so it's probably also a usage error I love the reprieve fabric that they use it's made of recycled water bottles and it's definitely not waterproof but it is water resistant and this lines up with their claims in this video I walked for hours in the rain in Japan and I ended up needing to get a poncho and drape it over my bag to protect my laptop and important documents I would say don't count on the water resistance at all but if it saves you one day that's more of a bonus I found that it can get soaked through after an hour or two in the rain and I also found that the dyes used on the inside of the bag can bleed through to whatever you're carrying so that's something to keep in mind but I don't want to make this point sound negative the water resistance is a great feature and it's well executed on this bag another thing mentioned on the site and that Linus has said many times is that it fits perfectly under an airline seat I'm not so sure about this one it might be true as long as you don't load it up all the way I was having a pretty hard time getting this under Airline seats on my trip to Japan and oftentimes I ended up just giving up and putting it in the overhead compartment since I didn't have a carry-on it's kind of minor and every model of airplane is slightly different so your mileage may vary but that was my experience with the bag the zippers feel amazing and despite the recall I think more than likely you'll end up just leaving the Old Poles on since I haven't broken for me I do see the weakness as a minor security issue but at the same time all you really need is a small knife and some determination to get into a backpack so what are you gonna do something Linus has claimed a lot is perfect fit which I think might be true for most people but it's pretty hard to sell to me when I loaded it to 20 pounds at times it felt pretty uncomfortable especially after wearing it for a long time the shoulder straps sit a bit too far apart for me although that's a problem I have with most bags the shoulder straps don't always stay in the exact same place when you adjust them which can be kind of annoying and I really really wish they had an option for a waist strap I mean your bag is capable of carrying over 20 pounds it's not too small for some of the Creature Comforts we get in some other bags I say this in comparison to my hiking bags which I've loaded up completely full and walked for many miles with and I know it's a daily use bag and not a hiking bag but it's something I really felt was missing and maybe there are some ergonomic reasons why this design is just better but in my opinion those are some improvements they could make the part of the fit that is really good is the shoulder padding and if it fits correctly on your shoulders these will probably make it a lot more comfortable as far as design goes I love the boxy design and all black aesthetic of this bag personally I feel like if your design is more stylish but doesn't hold as much it's kind of not really worth its salt as a backpack I mean the whole point is to carry more stuff on your back and a box is one of the most efficient shapes that we have don't be ashamed of your ruthless efficiency with that being said I don't really get fashion and I'm not really a backpack reviewer either so my opinion is probably pretty questionable I do think that if you're in a more formal situation you might be able to get away with using this because of its more subtle design Linus has said recently that there is a smaller version of this bag coming that will have the water bottle holder on the outside and it will carry just a little bit less I think this is a fantastic idea and I can't wait to see what they come up with in the coming year and I'm not really going to get into warranty gate because frankly it's a little bit out of the scope of this video but they do have a limited lifetime warranty and my experience with their staff so far has been slow but very positive at least they don't keep you on the phone for hours like traditional support companies I put a lot of faith in this bag by using it as my only bag for over a month my first time traveling internationally so I think the question this video is supposed to answer is should you put your trust in it too and it's never quite as simple as yes or no but I can tell you that it's not hashtag lineness trying to pull the LTT beanie over our eyes it's legitimately a good product if you're looking for something waterproof it's not waterproof if you're looking for something cheap it's 250 dollars if you're looking for something that holds more than 25 liters this isn't really good I think if you're a commuter in the city you're a student you're living a somewhat transient lifestyle or you're a travel bug this bag is perfect the size is perfect it's very durable the design is very low key so you can take it almost anywhere and it's made of recycled materials so it's really up to you to decide if you want to spend 250 dollars for those features oh yeah and I guess if you're just a fan of Linus and you want to fund his lab Initiative for testing
