Thought this would be interesting to share. Loved how respectful Audrey was to Elyssa, Frani, Nona, and Rachel (TIB) and David Kibbe’s system. It was fun to see how much they differed with their recommendations, and since Audrey already had a cohesive wardrobe, she pulled all the looks off. She seemed really happy with the results. What do you guys think?

I usually enjoy her videos, but it bothered me how she made so many substitutions to the outfits. In the end they were basically the same looks we’ve seen from her other videos. I respect that she has a capsule wardrobe and wants to stick to that, but I feel like this video missed the mark for me.

Thought it was interesting that the two who typed her as a gamine gave her the the most simple, sleek, tailored looks... basically DC looks...

I thought it was fun to hear multiple people give their views! I am actually in the DC camp for her though, which wasn't mentioned at all.

hi everybody welcome back to my channel in today's video i am so excited to share the results of a recent style experiment that i've been doing over the last couple months in which i had four body typing experts dress me according to my own individual yin yang balance and how i can use fashion and different lines and colors to really enhance all of that to basically represent my truest self so this is something that i've been looking into for the past couple months and i completely love so i'm so excited for this video to hopefully introduce you to something new and something that the more i learn about the more i think truly is the cornerstone to true personal style so we're going to go over what i mean when i say body typing and how that differs from what you might be familiar with and then i'm going to go over me i'm going to show you some information about me my height my presence in this world and some photos that can help you for anyone that doesn't know me in person and then i'm going to share the people i've worked with for women that i really respect what they typed me as and then their individual outfits they gave me and then my closing thoughts so let's get started let's start off with what i mean when i say a body typing expert or body typing in general and how that may differ from what you might be familiar with so i think when many of us think of body typing we think of the very outdated either shape or fruit system that basically helps us identify which shape or fruit we most represent based on our measurements and then how we can use that to basically change ourselves to all look like what is supposed to be the most desirable hourglass shape so i really really disagree with that approach i've never done a video on it even though i get a lot of requests because it's something i really don't believe in i've never found it helpful for myself and it's something that has just never resonated well with me because i think any time we use fashion to change ourselves we miss the fun and we miss the joy that comes from dressing and i think that it makes the whole process more depressing than it needs to be basically because i really think fashion should be used to enhance ourselves so when i discovered this idea of body typing as it relates to our individual yin yang or masculine feminine balance i was completely amazed and i love that the idea behind all of these systems is to create a personal style around different lines and colors that enhance what makes us unique rather than camouflage it so let's talk about me and how i go through life and my proportions and my ratios to me and the rest of the world because all of that really does come into play in most of these typing systems and there are things that are considered in order to help display exactly what you are basically so i'm going to go over some top things that i shared with the four women that i worked with that was helpful for them these are things they requested and things that will hopefully be helpful for you if you don't know me in person i know some of you watching do know me in person and have met me before but if you don't then it can be kind of hard to visualize someone especially when you only ever see them in video or on a in a picture but by themselves i'm never really with anyone else in anything that i post so it can be hard to get perspective so these are some photos of me with people in my life i am five foot three i've shared that before but i am petite and i'm also quite small framed and i go through life pretty much the same size that i've always been i've been the same height since i was about 15 and i have never grown taller and my two sisters that are my biological sisters because jeans are amazing and we look totally different because both of my parents are really different my mom and my dad are complete opposites in most ways physically and so you end up with this crazy mix not only in me but also my two sisters so as you can see i am 5'3 and both of my sisters are really tall because my dad's really tall and i posted this photo on instagram of me in ireland and i like to position the camera so that i look taller and i look just generally like i take up more space because i think it looks nicer um in a photo but this exact same photo but with me and my sisters you can really see the difference in the perspective and hopefully me in relation to everything around me and then of course the two of them most of these systems do pertain to your height and um the proportions that you have in your body so not necessarily your waist to hip ratio or your bust waist hips like old typing systems did but instead the length of your legs versus the length of your arms and your torso so another thing that was requested from these four women is a photo of me in either a bathing suit or kind of like workout gear something that really showed the silhouette of my frame so i did this as you can see i sent them a not so great iphone photo so i filmed a video version to give you some more perspective and i figured that it would be helpful for you to see it as well from shoulder levels so i have not positioned the camera lower this is at my shoulder height which is what is recommended to get the best perspective but in this type of typing system i started to pay attention to the length of my legs and my torso and i realized that most of my height is in my legs so like i said i'm five foot three but my legs the inseam is about 28 29 inches and the out seam of my legs is about 38 inches and my torso is only about 17 or 18 inches so it's quite a difference and that type of ratio really comes into play in all of this in a really really interesting way so now i want to share each of the people that i've worked with and their individual diagnosis and then the outfits that they gave me so i'm going to go over them in alphabetical order i think that's going to be the best way i was trying to figure it out and i think that is going to be the best most cohesive way so we're going to do alphabetical by first name first up alphabetically is alyssa and i discovered alyssa here on youtube a few months ago when i first started really diving into this more and i really loved her videos immediately she explains everything so clearly and she has such a wonderful way of teaching about individual lines and body chemistry basically and body composition but then using that to find your ideal aesthetic so she has so many videos on individual aesthetics and where they come from and how we can use that to enhance what makes us individual and i love that so she has her own unique body typing system that she's recently come up with based on all of the research that she's done and i really like her approach so i'm going to turn it over to her now and a video that she filmed for us so you can see her diagnosis of me and then ultimately what she chose for me to wear so here you go alyssa hi audrey first off thank you so much for allowing me to participate in this creative project i had a great time putting together your custom analysis and i'm really excited to present it to you so let's just dive straight into it so the way that i like to deliver my analysis is to provide a markup with all of your lines and some notations so that way you can clearly see how i'm drawing my conclusions of your physical harmony so let's take a look at your body face and maturity okay first up is your body now overall your body composition is beautifully balanced with soft rounded edges additionally your bone structure is a bit more delicate which is what contributes to your petite stature rather than having a point of emphasis you'll want to aim for an overall blended softly smooth line and waist definition okay next up is your facial features so although your facial features still offer a certain degree of balance you have an extra dose of yin brought in by your softly rounded cheeks eyes and facial shape the harmony of your facial features have a soft yin influence on your overall balance okay and last tip here for your physical analysis is your scale of maturity now it's been my experience that maturity actually really does play a big role in our overall harmony so i really think that it's important to include so the overall combination of your softly balanced petite frame rounded facial features and naturally poised essence gives you an appearance of yin but you still have this couth quality a lightweight polished approach to your wardrobe will harmonize well with your appearance of maturity okay and now for your essence your essence is a nice blend of yin and yang with your soothing calm presence and warm gentleness you appear to be quite open and inviting i can also detect a presence of natural poise and sophistication your essence qualities can be beautifully complemented with inviting yet modest elements that offer a level of refinement okay so your overall balance your unique harmony is beautifully balanced and proportionate but you also have an air of yin brought in by your delicate bone structure petite scale and softly rounded edges taking into consideration your yin balanced physical features and soothing essence a fair amount of harmony within your wardrobe will come from maintaining a balance of softness and refinement okay now let's take a look at your recommended head to toe looks now seeing is how you are a style blogger and you have a beautifully curated wardrobe already i was challenged with the task of seeing where i could offer something that was still within your wheelhouse but offers a little something different so i decided to bring in some rich colors and i landed on these two looks right here first is a casual summer ensemble that offers a little bit of color adventure with the rich green of the skirt but is still refined and casual so the simplicity of the crisp v-neck white t-shirt is met with the sophistication of the high quality silk skirt for a perfect balance of casual and polished the skirt beautifully hugs the contour of the body but offers an appropriate air of modesty with the length and nice drape from the hips makeup should be light and polished with the complexion defined eye and eyebrow and a sheer rose lip color complete this look with a pair of nude sandal block heels small circular drop earrings and loose waves for a casual summer evening stroll through the art district okay now on to the elevated look now i decided to present something that's a little more bold in color but still pulls through complementary elements of yin so the crisply tailored burgundy pant paired with the black blouse sets the pace for a richer color impression as advised in your color recommendations a more young or bold color story should offer a relief of yin somewhere in the look the puff sleeves and the turtleneck neckline provide some upward movement and circular shapes which will harmonize well with your facial features and provide that dash of yin for a complimentary overall balance for hair and makeup opt for a well groomed low bun polished complexion defined eye and eyebrow in a deeper wine lip shade now for your jewelry element i wanted to add something a little unique to the look and decided to suggest a brooch it's kind of a cool juxtaposition to the modern puffs leaves but still pairs well with the overall classic tone of the look okay audrey that is your complete style analysis i hope that this offered some new perspectives for you maybe some new points of inspiration and i really want to thank you again for inviting me to collaborate with you it's been a pleasure and i will see you soon on the interwebs bye next alphabetically is frannie and i also discovered franny a few months ago and was immediately smitten with her channel she's a beautifully talented artist and poet and has just the best personality she's so warm and just wonderful to watch on video and i really love her and her channel and her approach because she talks a lot about david kibby but she does it in a way that's truly authentic to what he advocates and i think that's so important anytime you're going to try to spread the word on someone else's efforts i think it's so important to stick as close to what they said as you can and she really strives for that so i love it and i really love that on her channel she does a lot of style experiments and wearing different lines to really confirm what is working for her and like i said just the best personality so she also filmed a video to give her diagnosis and outfits so i'm going to turn it over to her now hey audrey for those of you who don't know my name is frannie of authentic by franny here on youtube and other various spaces on the internet i'm so grateful that audrey reached out for this video i think this is so fun so basically on my channel i talk a lot about the kibby body typing system the kibby image id system which is all about your yin yang balance and how that is brought out through the way you dress how clothes can honor your body in a way that is harmonious and not to change your body and make it a cookie cutter shape like everybody else in the world but to really say this is what you have and i love what you have and i'm going to bring out those beautiful parts of you and your body you don't have to get into all of that here let's just jump right in to what i think audrey's kibby body type is drum roll please i think audrey's a flamboyant gummy now if you've spent any time at my channel at all you would know that i am also a flamboyant gaming i think she's flamboyant can mean based off of videos that i've watched of her and the way that she presents herself as well as the clothing items that she tends to gravitate toward essentially a flamboyant gaming is a person with alternating yin and yang extremes in their body gamine is the general term for this but you can either lean more yin which would be a soft gamine or you can lean more yang which is flamboyant gaming essentially what all games need to do is break up their silhouette so their bodies are already doing this naturally like you might be scanning a game's body and see that they have huge eyes but maybe they have more prominent nose but then maybe they have more full lips and then they have a strong jaw like that sort of thing is very much alternating between extremes where it's like yin and then yang and then yin and then yang so when you dress it's very important that you mimic that in your body so what i see in audrey that is very key for being a flamboyant mean is that alternating line in her features she has this kind of sassy but also chic energy very much like audrey hepburn who is also a flamboyant gaming as well as this kind of bold youthful energy in her essence and that tends to be brought out by wearing more yang lines the broken silhouettes are really going to be what honors your frame and so there's a very easy way to do this and i'm going to show you that with the first look and then there's a way to do this that is a little bit more subtle you don't really notice that you're doing this but it works and it honors your lines the first thing that i would recommend is color blocking and using separates to your advantage so for example i would find a top that is more rectangular um that ends at your natural waist so something that's cropped for pants with this sort of a cropped top something tailored is really awesome you can wear something high-waisted in your case audrey because you have sort of a cinched waist and a delicate curve at your hips and again like that is a sign of community you know to have that box boxy portion and then to have that curved portion immediately abruptly after that it's a very clean break if you ask me from my perception and so i would recommend that and do a color block so if your top is darker wear lighter pants or if your top is lighter wear darker pants as for hair okay audrey your face is so stunning so beautiful and i would love to see your hair pulled back one of my favorite looks to do personally as a flamboyant gaming is to part my hair on the side and slick it back into a bun especially because my hair is short right now so ponytail doesn't necessarily work but since your hair is longer and has like a more loose texture then i think that something really beautiful would be if you parted your hair to the side and sliced it back into a ponytail and then let your natural texture really show in the back this in itself is a balance of yin and yang extremes you have very geometric angularity that frames your face mixed with something that's a little more loose a little more carefree if you will and that leans more yin every time the mooring means need structure and weight to their clothes and their accessories as well and so wearing something that was a little bit of a thicker metal hoop would look really beautiful or like a thick or a thick metal stud that would be really beautiful something that's kind of larger and geometric right near your face especially if your hair is pulled back like i'm suggesting that then your earrings will really become kind of the star of the show and bringing that detail to your face you already do your makeup kind of perfect so i really don't want to touch that keep it up you look beautiful real quick i wanted to share with you a second look i know i was just talking about color blocking and separates and broken lines in your silhouette but have you ever tried wearing a jumpsuit i know this is totally opposite of everything but i feel like flamboyant means when you do this well it means if you can do this properly you can wear jumpsuits the idea against jumpsuit is that it's usually one long line and that does not honor your structure as much as broken lines do find a garment that has the broken silhouette sewn in this one is a picture of chloe helen miles i'm pretty sure she's really beautiful she's also in the game family um and she tends to wear jumpsuits that are very fitted on the top and then tapered and cropped at the bottom your skin helps break up the line so you'll want to choose a piece that has contrast with your skin tone so for someone like you and me audrey we would have something that maybe is more like darker toned to contrast with our skin and our features or something that's more neutral as in not warm not cool so for shoes i think that pairing something like this with boots would be cool but also with something chunky so mules sandals side note have you ever considered getting a bob i feel like he would look so good with a bob your hair texture is probably my favorite for bob's i just love that like wavy tousled bob but i can see that looking so gorgeous on you especially with like a side part kind of cascading across your face windswept but of course this is what i tell everybody who watches my videos at the end of the day you know what makes you feel like yourself and so honor that your personal style comes from your soul and the way that you know yourself and the way that you want that to be expressed of course these are just my recommendations for you that are based on the kibby system hopefully these will help you kind of get exploring maybe figuring out something new to wear in your style i hope you found this helpful and fun and i can't wait to see what you come up with bye moving right along alphabetically next we have nona and nona is also someone that i discovered relatively recently here on youtube and i really really really love her videos because she has such an intellectual approach to not only diagnosing through david kibby's system but also again sticks very true to what he said which i really respect and love and then also she dives so much deeper in such a cool way when it comes to mannerisms and possible mannerisms for the body types and i think that that is such a fascinating part of it because our essence and kind of how we present ourselves to the world can be altered as much as we'd like and it's something that i personally do a lot i get a lot of criticisms about moving my hands a lot and so i've tried really hard to kind of hold them in place i've even sat on them in videos but it's so hard to dampen that because that's truly part of my personality and my essence and really diving into the mannerisms i think is so cool and such a really fascinating part of this whole system so like i mentioned nona also focuses on david kibby but does really great in-depth analysis on all the different body types and it does so in a way that is really true to his typing system so nona also filmed a video for us and i will turn that over to her now hi audrey so in this video i'll be analyzing your body and typing you according to kiwi guidelines so first of all you have quite a long vertical line you look much taller than your five foot three um i would have guessed you're around five five five six so slightly taller than you actually are um so overall looking at your whole body you have a very streamlined torso you have lots of length um the muscle is quite apparent in your body um that and your yin height gives me the impression that you are definitely a flamboyant go mean um and you actually remind me so much of penelope cruz i can put you in penelope cruz um in the same outfits and you know i get the same kind of vibe from from both of you so that is what i believe you are so this is your first outfit recommendation based on me typing you as a flamboyant mean and making you know whole body looks for you then point good mean and the most famous one is audrey hepburn so i wanted to honor her um with this outfit it's a turtleneck very sleek and could cut trousers to really emphasize the narrowness of the ankles and the length of the the leg um paired with you know cute flats and this works so well for the flamboyant gaming because um they look best in form-fitting sleek looks with fabrics that can really stand up to your inherent structure and your inherent length and angles so keeping it sick is always a very good idea this is my last outfit recommendation and i like to call it clueless with um a bit more of a clue um i really love the idea of pairing a nice sleek a bit heavier of a turtleneck with a very defined structured neck region collar lifted collar what have you um with a high waisted mini skirt paired with a longer softer blazer in fun colors um paired with combat boots chunky ankle boots or flats it's a very playful fun outfit and it keeps the attention in the shoulder and waist region this is also a really wonderful outfit for wearing your funkiest trendiest sunglasses it really helps amp up the drama and the sassiness of this outfit and then last but certainly not least alphabetically we have rachel now rachel does not have a youtube channel but she does have a beautiful blog and she's been blogging for quite a while and has her own typing system that takes into consideration some types that you don't really hear about all that often so most notably for the sake of my diagnosis she believes in an ingenue and ongenews are essentially lycogamine except a gamine has young but almost boyish or masculine energy but an ingenue has young but feminine or girlish energy and then also relevant for my own individual diagnosis she also believes in an ethereal type and ethereal types are so fascinating the more that i learn about them and they basically as the name suggests they um represent something that feels almost otherworldly or a little bit uncommon which i of course love i love when things are unique and individual so that's another reason why i really like rachel's system because what makes it interesting and different is that if i'm not mistaken she believes in typing almost exclusively from your face and you dress your face because that's what people see that's what they're talking to and as someone who does youtube and most every time you see me it's just this i find it really really relevant and just so interesting and then also rachel thinks that every person has multiple ids and we are an individual ratio of different percentages so i'm going to share her diagnosis now because she doesn't have a youtube channel i'm going to read it really quickly give you a really quick overview of what it is because it's really lengthy and she gives you everything down to perfume recommendations and then i'm gonna share the outfits that we figured out represent her style type the best so here we go so according to rachel i am an ethereal classic engineer with a dash of natural so my exact ratio if i'm not mistaken is 40 classic actually i'll read it because i have it here 25 ingenue 25 ethereal and then 10 natural and as she told me in her diagnosis it's unusual to find someone with four um style ids but she felt like it was necessary for mine to have that natural or something slightly more relaxed in order to round it all out and what i found really fascinating also is she went so far as to even say that she tried gaming for me but ultimately settled on aunt jenu and that's not something that i anticipated at all and then i really didn't anticipate the ethereal but her recommendations around that uh diagnosis really bring in all of those beautiful elements so well together so now let's go over the outfits that rachel and i agreed represented her diagnosis the best we went back and forth on a couple different variations and she gave me feedback because i really wanted to make sure that i was doing it justice as with all of these because i think that's the best way to demonstrate it so we settled on this first look as a good representation of the individual diagnosis and all of the things that go into that so for every type that she gives you and every percentage there is a color cut fabric material texture pattern everything that plays into each of those so you want to find an outfit that has the represented percentages based on your style id so this one did a great job of blending those and i love it because it's a beautiful dress i got this when i was trying to get more dresses into my wardrobe and i really like how i feel in it it's a really beautiful piece it's silk it's light but not too light i love the blue and white because it's my favorite color combination and i loved how it looked with the long necklace because mother of pearl which is so perfectly coincided with her diagnosis is something that i really love and something that she recommended and it goes so beautifully and then i paired it with the ballet flats because these are brown and there's not that much of a contrast between the dress and the shoes which was important for this diagnosis i do want to say that when we were going back and forth she did specify that if she had it in a dream world and and i had access to whatever i wanted the ballet flats would be a little bit more special so they would have maybe a faux croc emboss or something to give them just a little bit more interest but the overall shape was good because it's not chunky it's formed fitting to the foot and it's still delicate and then for the second outfit i went with this and this combination again represents the percentages and the individual style pieces of this diagnosis so most notably my diagnosis calls for an obvious use of separates but nothing with aggressive color blocking so there should be a difference between your top and your bottom but it shouldn't look over the top basically so this was the closest that i could get using the clothes that i have this is a beautiful flowy skirt that i'll be talking about more in the future i recently added this to my wardrobe specifically for this video and for another video that i have coming up but it worked so well because it's nice and airy on the bottom and it has that transparency but it's still a really classic cut and it hits at a beautiful place it's not too short not too long and then for the sweater i was go looking for a cardigan because cardigans are recommended in my id and this one is one that i've had for a really long time and i folded up the sleeve so it hit at the places recommended for an ingenue type and then i paired it with these shoes which we both felt represented the kind of ingenue ethereal type really well so i really loved this i thought it was so fun to take the diagnosis and then turn it into these looks and i just found it so eye-opening so now let's go over my closing thoughts basically my general takeaway i'm gonna try to keep this really top line because i could talk about this all day long and i'm probably going to do a really in-depth blog post that you can read over on audreyalemode.com so i'll let you know when that goes live but for the sake of this video i want to share a couple things that really stuck out to me the first being that i really recommend this i think it is the greatest thing in the world and i think that it is the more i learned about it like i think i mentioned at the beginning i think it's the most important part of personal style and something that we don't talk about something that isn't mainstream and something that i really do think should should be so i really encourage you to spend time researching this take the online tests read the books maybe order a diagnosis or two from one of these wonderful women and see where it gets you and have fun and start experimenting because this has been a wonderful life-changing experience that i cannot recommend enough and then the other takeaway that i want to talk about is the idea that i find this type of a system so incredibly freeing and liberating and representative of so much that i try to perpetuate on this channel it can oftentimes feel like what i do is so superficial because i focus on fashion but i think that fashion has the ability to represent how we feel about ourselves and share a message with the world and just basically translate our truest self and i think it's so important for self-confidence and self-esteem throughout this whole process it further reminded me how important it is that we stay true to ourselves and use fashion and personal style as a way to represent what we truly are and who we truly are and that only you know that so using these as a springboard is so wonderful to help you maybe get the permission that you need to try something because so many of us will take style classes or watch videos or read books and magazines and meet fashionable people and think oh i want to look like that or i want to dress like that or she's successful i should dress like that and i think that that can be a very limiting way to look at fashion and sometimes it's nice to have a diagnosis that frees you of that and almost gives you the permission to wear cropped pants or wear big bold jewelry or things that you maybe think you feel good in but you don't really see anyone else doing and instead knowing that that truly is representative of you and so you embrace it and i just love that i try to be more cognizant of that the older that i get and in the content that i create because i don't want to perpetuate this idea that we should all look the same so i really really love this for that and then the last top line takeaway that i want to share is that it's kind of an extension of what i was just talking about but that it caused me to reflect and realize all of the things that i was doing in an effort to assimilate or kind of age myself up and in doing so ultimately dampening my true essence or my true style and not enhancing who i truly am and it's something that i really find liberating now that i'm kind of forcing myself to not do that anymore so i really recommend it from that perspective as well because if you're like me for example and you've constantly been called young or cute and not taken seriously it doesn't happen here on youtube that often because i've tried so many different things and obviously they worked but i in my professional life especially before i started doing youtube i was constantly mistaken for an intern even though i'd been working at some of these places for multiple years and constantly not taken as seriously as i wanted to be so i started doing a lot of things to make myself look older or more serious and in retrospect i realized that that honestly was a lot of misplaced effort in order to try to assimilate and i think that of course there is a place for having a dress code and going to work and trying to be professional in all of those things but also an element of not allowing something external from you to dampen what you feel about yourself so i think if i could put it in one word it would be don't do that and instead let it be something that you embrace about yourself and i think the more we allow that to happen the more open we'll be to it and i think the easier it would be to go through life and to discover yourself and not feel like what you are isn't good enough so like i said i could talk about this forever i will probably do a really in-depth blog post but i just thought it was the best experience i really really really recommend it it's something i will continue to explore and dive into in a lot of different capacities and i'm even thinking about doing a mini capsule from each diagnosis and trying to find outfits and pieces that would represent each of these fantastic feedbacks that i've received and then wear those for maybe a week or a month and see how i feel and so if you're interested in that let me know maybe i'll share the results in a blog post or a video because i think this is such a cool conversation to keep having and like i said about 2 trillion times i really really recommend it so i hope that you found this helpful and inspiring and eye-opening and like always thank you so much for watching and i'll see my next one have a great day
