EA in Activision two of the biggest gaming companies in the world we all know about them [Music] [Music] seriously though it seems like every year they pull off something even worse than we thought possible and I just can't do with their [ __ ] it's gotten to the point where buying Cosmetics gets you better matches these two weren't always like this and I do understand it is a business a company's overall goal is to make as much profit as possible but the way they treat the people that care about the games that they put out just isn't right I find it hard to believe that any other gaming company could possibly be any worse than them oh yeah they exist super so you know the company that made Rush Wars seriously though how could supercell a mobile game company be any worse than the train wreck that is EA and Activision I'll admit it supercell does only make free to play mobile games with macro transactions here and there five to six years ago you could realistically play any of the games without spending a single dime they were one of the best companies in terms of listening to feedback from their player base and giving them games to enjoy and listen I get these games are free to download but there's a fine line between making a profit and just straight up corporate greed some people may know supercell through their lesser known Indie titles like Clash of Clans I didn't play it that much myself but I do know that the game was okay in terms of microtransactions sure you could spend thousands of dollars to max out your base but doing that just took the fun out of the game losing any sense of true progression and reward supercell's other game though was a different story Clash Royale okay so Clash Royale was another one of supercell's hit games it was just a live multiplayer game using characters from the original Clash of Clans universe instead of attacking and defending bases though the game used a card system there were four card types common rare epic and legendary with legendary being the hardest to obtain you'd unlock troops through earning cards leveling up the troop by getting more of those same cards in Gold max level was 13. you didn't get eight cards to use in a deck to use in a game against someone else it was a pretty simple system the game also used the same trophy system from Clash of Clans where you gain or lose trophies depending on if you won or lost you'd progress to new arenas for every trophy Milestone you'd hit there were also gems and gold you could obtain just through playing and opening chess for free easy to understand system and engage in gameplay Loop balancing cards is a whole other issue in itself but the overall system seem very fair to the player of course though microtransactions have plagued the entire game someone could Max their account in minutes if they wanted to identical to the way Clash of Clans are structured the thing is though is that the grind and progression is what made Clash of Clans what it was getting on for 15 minutes a day to complete a couple tasks finishing some upgrades do a quick raid and then wait till tomorrow to do it all again you always had something to look forward to microtransactions worked because those that did it only hindered their own experience it was more of a pay to lose situation Clash Royale though was not the same many cards had small interactions that will go in one way or another depending on their level and since these interactions usually meant whether a person won a game or not you could understand the frustration within the community when they'd face someone with higher level cards constantly losing it because your cards are extremely under leveled just well sucked there's no better way to put it you know damn well that if you were on an even playing field they would have [ __ ] destroyed the person you were challenging but instead you get BM to death and quit playing for a few days paying money actively gave you a better experience and even unlock certain things like challenges or even newly released cards that free players could unlock since the resources needed for it were extremely scarce and even if let's say you sit for a month on gems chest and gold you likely still wouldn't get anything because the chances of you getting what you wanted at the time were completely random the only guaranteed way was to just spend money till you got it or constantly deal with the unfair matchups almost every time you'd play it wasn't all bad though over time Superstar released more and more updates giving players more ways to obtain different cards and level up faster one of the best updates came with the addition of pass Royale where give the players a realistic and affordable option to play the game obtain items and off to Shell out hundreds of dollars at the same time and if you didn't get the pass you still received a few things to help with progression lots of good offers came out during this time as well only adding to the streak that supercell was on 300 black men for only two pounds yes sir at some point though something happened people began to stop playing content creators were leaving and Pros are getting sick of the game the game itself was kind of well but that wasn't due to shitty paid to win tactics it was just an overall lack of content there was a point in time where no significant updates happened for almost nine months but had a couple balancing changes new cards here and there and new battle passes I know this was right smack in the middle of quarantine and I understand that there were lots of compromises due to the situation the world was in but it's just insane to think about how some independent Studios with small development teams were able to get content out faster than a [ __ ] mobile game company with 10 billion dollars invested into it but I know that Superstar did with what they could at the time because when content updates started to release again the player base began to return now the first update was kind of well oh no but eventually with the update for magic items one of the best additions for regular players giving them more obtainable ways to level up their cards and the release of a decent summer update the community had reached the highest point it was at in years supercell was doing great and Clash Royale was thriving the game finally had fresh content a fair leveling and card system and an active Community it was a nice Middle Ground where they could both make a profit and players could enjoy the game but not getting [ __ ] on by those who spent thousands of dollars there was no way they could [ __ ] this up fast forward a few months and Superstar would have one of its biggest events slash Royale they cut all cost of upgrades for everything in the game by half this was huge for players especially free players since they cannot upgrade any card they had without having to spend weeks grinding back the same amount at the same time supercell even had a mini event called Gold Rush where players could earn more gold than normal it was in the game a couple of times before this event but this time players occur in upwards of 10 times more than expected the event was expected to last for two weeks making it arguably the best event to ever happen in the game's history that was until about three days after the event started when level 14 was announced this sounded amazing as supercell was giving players a chance to prepare for the big update through slash Royale helping them either save or upgrade as much as possible for the first level update in over 5 years if that was the case what was so bad about it well because of the introduction at level 14 the upgrade system had changed people within the community did the math and found out that those who maxed out their cards during slash Royale would end up losing resources when level 14 would be released this only applied for epics and legendaries but players had still lost lots of money especially with legendaries as players will lose an equivalent of almost 200 per card as you would expect the outrage was immense creators are letting Their audience know how much they would lose during the event and to hold off until the update we have slash Royale going on right now which is an amazing event right it's starting to feel a little bit scammy we've announced slash Royale after this we just spent all of our gold on maxing out our decks that aren't even going to be maxed out anymore it sounds like a huge scam but I don't think they did that on purpose this I think it was just poorly planned backlash came from the community on basically any social media site imaginable everyone was aware of the situation going on and how Superstar thought that somehow they would be able to get away with scamming their entire Community everything eventually subsided as super so admitted to their mistake and would compensate players for their cards they would have lost if they were to take advantage of the event players are then able to confidently utilize the slash real event but the same frustration within the community stayed many were upset at the way Supersoft thought that they could take advantage of their own player base it's hard for me to really brush it off as a mistake since these are professional developers who have been doing this for years you can't tell me that somehow this slipped right past them because if it did it would have been immediately recognized but it took so much backlash from the community and even from their own creators who are usually on board of the supercell's actions to finally do something about it some let it slide as it was a big update especially for those who were maxed out and wanted more things to progress to many players including free-to-play players have been maxed for a good while now as the game had already been out for over 5 years the new additions were welcomed especially the addition of Champions one of the new car types introduced with level 14 though many were a little annoyed at how they were locked to that same level the situation I finally died down but many still looked at supercell differently for what they pulled in the community then only a year later supercell introduced arguably one of the worst additions to the game Arena level caps what exactly were Arena level caps well if a player wanted to progress in the game before the update they could have gone as far as possible even if their account was stuck at level 1. this update capped out Arenas asserts in level Milestones forcing players to level up in order to continue playing the game there are certain functions of the game locked behind account levels like challenges but this is always a core mechanic of the game because of this change Arena progression was basically locked behind a paywall because at certain points of the game leveling up becomes a huge challenge if you're a free player since the time it takes to get the resources required for it could take months on end some people have the argument that as to prevent facing over-leveled opponents but there's no car level limit for the Arenas you would still face someone with cards that are three to four levels higher than your own if it was really to stop players from having unfair match-ups then they would limit the level your cards can be in different Arenas not stop the player from progressing because their account's not high enough players were never really forced to purchase anything you had people with level 1 accounts reaching the highest points of the game it really showed that if you were good enough you'd be rewarded it just made no sense for a game that's both structured around a whole ranking system and that also has a professional scene to reward those who pay and hinder those who were actually good at the game this was just one of the lowest points that supercell had ever gone to that was until not even a full year later not even two years after level 14 level 15 is introduced with a slash Royale event look I have no words for this I don't know why we all didn't see this coming nobody wanted level 15 and barely anybody besides those who spent thousands on the game would even have a chance to experience this update since it was only brought in two years after level 14 the majority of the player base wasn't even ready for it yet it took a couple of years for a level 13 to get reached by a decent amount of the community the devs did say though it will cost no gold to get to level 15 so that's good they weren't scamming the community again with Slash Royale either it was also announced a few months in advance giving players time to prepare for the coming update hopefully it isn't anything too crazy so we can it would take a free player 10 years to Max their account and 25 000 if they wanted to get there now what's the actual [ __ ] how could any company in their right mind justify a player needing to spend 25 000 to get a Max account or even spend on their game and to clarify this is from just level 14 to 15 it will take another ten thousand dollars to Max your account from level one it costs twice as much to get from Level 14 to 15 than it does from 1 to 14. even for a mobile game this is [ __ ] crazy and even if you didn't want to fully Max your account if you wanted to just have maybe a few cars Max to make a few usable decks it would still take you years to get to that point or thousands of dollars the worst part is that this new level doesn't come with anything new and exciting to go with it it's just level 14 with a one added to it all cards at level 15 interact the exact same as they would if they just stayed at level 14. so what does this update at then [Music] nothing supercell wants their player base to spend 25 000 for nothing and they continue to Double Down sending out offer after offer in their shop they now outright tell the player that they just might suck and to spend money to get better I've skipped so many other shitty things supercell has done as well like how they recently changed their past system having two tiers that cost more than what it was originally while giving less overall or the way they introduce new cards in an extremely broken State making everyone buy them a Max them out only to Nerf them two to three weeks later they've been doing this for literal years at this point the system is terrible the company is terrible and it just sucks to witness it since all of this could be prevented if the developers actually cared about the people that play their game even though Clash Royale is just a mobile game I and many other people have spent years on this game and have created so many memories on it getting tilted on ladder playing 2v2 touchdown winning our first challenge or the excitement you'd get when you'd open a chest around your friends and pull a legendary for the first time the game deserves to continue and Thrive for so many years but the decisions being made these last few years make it seem like super so is trying to cash out on it now before eventually abandoning it and shutting it down for good something we see happening with many games as of late I hate seeing this as it's just a complete waste of time and money to the community content creators and dedicated developers who made the game when it wasn't in the first place but unless supercell does something to fix the mess they've created Clash Royale doesn't have a future and will eventually die out like many games seen before it and once that happens many of Superstar's other games with great hard-working developers will follow the same track as Clash Royale until they completely die out as well alright so that about does it ever done the script like six times at this point so you know if you guys enjoyed the video I'm looking to do more things like this but on some other topics too so whatever you're feeling you know just just let me know besides that you know thank you for watching all the way through and any support helps got another channel right here where I just rambled about [ __ ] if you want to check it out besides that thank you again for watching and hope you guys enjoy yourself foreign
