I finished the 100 Hour Hunting Horn Challenge in Monster Hunter World. Here's what happened.

I only had 100 hours to complete this hunting horn challenge prior to this challenge I had only played with the hunting horn for about 20 minutes for a first impression video that I created but my experience with this weapon was about to change based on this challenge the basics of the challenge are simple one start a brand new character two take down every monster for the first time solo and three after completing the story Quest break the horns off of every monster in the game I had to complete each of these and the addition of a wager that would be added to the challenge once I got through the iceborn campaign so sit back relax andjoy because the hund hours Begins the moment I click new game time to begin a new adventure here we go all right tails is back there we are Punch's here punchie has joined the hunt here we are the start of a new age start the game with Tails and punchie yes please after being chased by anath into estera we were led to our living quarters to pick out our first weapon we don't need to watch all this cuz we already know what we're getting we're going with the great I'm just kidding metal bag pipes here we are then we left for our first Quest all right here we go let's go boys yes okay we're doing the spin attack on the right click we're doing a down attack on the left click and I know this attack cuz I did this in my first impressions yes d baby dude oh yeah all right so we've got self do I click this button to play the song YES Movement speed up I'll take it we're doting away hiya all right we're going to do this we missed yes spin baby spin so if I do this that was sick Haya oh get him okay after completing my first Quest we headed out to get revenge on a past pest just CAD on all right bane of my existence right here we're getting revenge for the charge blade let's [Music] go oh yeah knock him out yes spin the win baby a how dare you all right let's do it let's do a little dance here yeah wo wooo but it's way easier oh Punchy just killed that kodon for me what a pal look at this guy the Monster Hunter himself he just took down this male Kon while I was carving I'm sharpening my horn everybody it was a little bit flat music jokes it was a little flat get it we we got it a little more sharp now cuz it was a little [Laughter] flat he made the the hard hunting hard sharpy joke he's mad I didn't know that was an actual joke I thought I was being [Laughter] clever let's perform a song yes let's do an encore oh that's brutal oh we're killing these things oh my gosh I've come a long way since charge blade I'll tell you what but would we be feeling this confident against our very first large Monster Hunt o that one hurt okay all right let's let's play a song all right we got some movement speed yeah oh yes baby y oh my gosh that's that's just rough man all right we got M ey now I think oh this thing does not stand a chance y'all guys that was pretty good that was pretty good all right let's let's sit this into a tree does that work oh into the vine trap we're going for the mount right now here we go [Laughter] hiya yeah oh we're going to get hit oh never mind oh my God you're doing great thank you it's like I was made for this weapon right now I'm this is so much easier than charge blade currently oh with the with the clutch claw oh who needs a hunting horn when you've got a clutch claw just D that thing to death that was awesome on to Kulu and more learning how the horn Works wa oh that was huge all right so I can let this go all the way and get all these Buffs is that how that works yes and now if I do this again no okay so we want to get music loaded in like this yeah okay Dodge out of the way yeah yeah yeah yes get me up there and then the spin oh yeah yeah you stare at your rock I'm going to play some music sounds good yeah yeah all right we got to figure out some other combos because right now I'm just I'm just tapping buttons cuz it's fun oh no what is this don't see me don't see me don't see me all right let's do a health boost so is it right click is red and then I can double it oh I haven't done this yet yeah yeah and then we can do this and then we get a health boost oh sick all right Let's do let's do this one yeah yeah yeah oh my gosh that's so [Music] mean all right let's do this attack oh my gosh let soften everything up oh got him we have not slayed a monster in a conventional way yet we dink the great jagers in the eyes with a clutch claw attack and we get this guy with the sofy attack that's pretty hilarious see the song list there's a song list where's the song list you press see you can see what it is okay let's do it ah okay dude this weapon's insane this weapon's insane I can do so much stuff then it was time to learn the song that made this challenge possible solo all right so let's do so if I do impact Echo wave is so I can do okay hold on hold on so this attack goes into this attack and then it's a right click and then we do the perform like that did I do it oh my God I did do an impact Echo wave good job me okay all right and then we can do this one yes and then we'll do a perform all right guys I'm getting some tunes figured out oh look at that the The Encore is super nice oh my gosh so impact okay let's do another impact Echo wave so if we do this into this and then right click here we go and then we can do the perform oh or get hit that's fine we get to perform here though yes yes and then we'll do the Encore oh that'll work that'll work he's learning he's learning oh what are you doing here hi a oh my God or not and then I was Off to the Races progressing quickly through the next few hunts then we can do a mount attack like this we missed so if I'm if I'm understanding the weapon correctly I don't necessarily want to do just one song then perform like I want to load up a bunch of songs and then perform all of them cuz the Encore lets me get a bunch of Buffs of Everything at Once jeez Louise man The Knockouts is so good on this okay so we loaded up and attack small now if I do it this and then this and then this now we've got a health boost and then we can do a left click into two doubles and one more and then we can perform yeah so we got defense attack up and health boost and then we'll do the the nice old oh Bonk did we not get it sad all right all right we got some work to do on that one all right all right we're getting there we're getting there okay oh my gosh it's so mean oh man that attack is so good attack is so good what is this what is this look at this we're summoning spanked it I gave him the old Encore to death but next up was Diablos this thing hits hard but I was pumped to H hunt it as I heard it armor was great for the hunting horn oh man this monster is dope yeah tell me about it they're going to get broken we got a horn already I'll take it uhoh that's going to hurt oh it's [Laughter] not all right we don't need that though let's do one of these yeah got the second horn already one of those oh my gosh that's just mean so many best boids you know it man it's like a Minnesota in the summer look at look at all these birds what's going on here holy cats dude that was a m that was a massacre no's party just got my screamer pods forever done this dance before [Laughter] boom then do one of these the pain you've had a few oh he's leaving hey got there got there let's see what we got for Diablo stuff I've been told the Diablo gear is good I'm going to make this first actually though just to get it off the list all right we got a helmet Slugger was the real winner here so I called in the basilon squad y'all the basil goon squad I need your help we need this piece are you in would you like to fight a Diablos with me oh I knocked him over that's awesome oh nice job it was close he almost had us and before long I had what I needed there it is that's a pretty good Diablo set right now I'll take it I took gor magnos then headed into high rank dragonate boom baby Shish Kabab I used it already boom boom boom boom that'll do oh my gosh the double [Laughter] whammy D him DED him to death oh that's funny but pink rathon was in my way I was really concerned we weren't equipped enough to take it down oh boy yeah we're here okay wish me luck y'all I need it this is going to be really tough couldn't Dodge out of that one those is going to we took that thing down you're actually a hunting horn God thank you I don't I don't know much about hunting horn right I've only played for a few hours but I'm getting it I'm understanding how to play it and it's working very well I think this weapon was made for me all along and I just didn't know it you know dude I don't know I don't know if we're going to be able to beat nante should we just try let's just try let's see how far we can get with what we have maybe we just beat him and it's no big deal or I might actually just be able to like dump this guy and it doesn't even matter nante was next up and my confidence was probably a little too high we're a little bit unprepared for this right now boom ah that hurt all right I'm on of potions already uh y'all we're in trouble punch you save me punch you save me thank you all right there's that and one of these we are in a lot of trouble y'all we're in so much trouble I don't I don't have healing items I don't have healing items the problem is surviving the damage right now I uh I have two me two Mega potions and regular potions and that's it and my armor is not really good for this we're a little bit behind in the armor to apartment so we'll see what we can do here woohoo yes that was sick no wow okay he hurts y'all I don't think this is going to happen I don't have enough HP to survive and attack against this guy I got to get a whole armor set figured out ah we good we good take this horns 31 damage ychy it's the long game oh we're dead one shot very first failed Quest y'all was against nante that's not bad so it was back to the Smithy to get a build worked out and this build had a secret weapon well the first thing I want to get actually which is kind of crazy we'll check this out quick n um is this guy mushroommancer is going to be the the problem solver for our lack of items I think so I think we're going to go get a great G's hide plus and then I need to find one more mushroommancer skill point somewhere mushroom aner there it is two results were found this one oh the Harvest set has them interesting we're going to go with these booties heck yeah we are all right we're doing this all right we're going to go with this Kulu one so I brought the bason squad back in and we went hunting basil goon squad I need your help we're going to farm up a bunch of parts we got to get a a set made for nante or against nante and we'll give this a shot good work hey perfect perfect nice job y'all good work boom yes whoa that was sick we're grooving oh that was quick wow that was quick good work team nice job dude we're going to look so ridiculous with this outfit yeah we're a pig oh my gosh this is this is the worst armor set ever and yet it's the best a weapon upgrade maybe make a tough decision uh sorry dodo Gama fans in advance but we will be getting dodo Gama gear you better not kill DOTA Gama I got no traps on me so you guys have to get in here and captur it for me also how dare you kill dodo he's Harless I haven't killed him yet there's roim Shady Rim shady is saving the day right here for y'all look rosam Shady came here here and made dodogama stronger that's incredible all right well we have to make sure we cap him here if you guys want him to live oh no he [Music] died I can't believe this happened our boy a how could that have happened y'all I just don't get it what take that yers man this gear it just gets worse this set so bad all right time to beat him up uh-huh that's what I thought here we go big impact oh I fail I fail I forgot that it did damage on the first one that was my bad we're still going to hit him really hard here though 415 no worries oh look at this look at this that's beautiful screenshotting that actually we could check this Diablo spear quick critical draw is pretty good slug is insane I think we're going to go for this and then we'll get these Ingot oh man do we not we don't have enough money I need money y'all all right well we got to take down another Diablos no matter what so if you guys want to jump in a Diablo quest with me feel free boom and after some Diablo hunts I finally got everything I needed all right y'all we we did it it took us let's see we started at 11: when we finally got it got uh hunting stuff it's 1:30 2 and 1/2 hours to finally get a high rank set of gear and and this is what we came up with we look so ridiculous oh man it's funny the pig head is the worst part for sure but it has mushroom we got to do it all right y'all it's time for some nante can we get this nante now we started stream trying to take on nante and we're very underpowered now we're going to go take him on see if we can get him this time what's up nerie I'm back it's time for vengeance boom that's right the disrespect all right y'all you think I can get this Nery on this last paint he got no horns left what's he going to do he's going to he's going to dive in again that's what he's going to do I mean that was a pretty good Counterattack I'll tell you what show up and just do your big attack to start off with Bonk yes let's give him some nose holes some more nostrils on the back he won't be breathing on his face for much longer oh that's big that that hurt oh not good we just got saved by divine blessing there get out of here get out of here all right we're going to we're going to buff oursel completely tails on Hunting horn what I've been waiting for why haven't not played this weapon prior we just beat nante with a pig head on with nante down I had just a couple monsters left in the base game but then something came up that helped out a ton oh my gosh it's devil Joe no change of plans everybody we got to fight this devil Joe that's a good start it actually we actually need to do this because we need parts for its uh weapon potentially Get Wrecked Becky here we go oh there's the devil Joe down nice all right we got him let's check out the weapon that we can get from it double Joe tree oh soften here oh let's get a a that's sad we're on his face we're doing The Knockout stuff we're dodging death we hit death jump attack yeah okay we're going to hit this guy really really hard like really hard like this then we turn around and do some more hits like that and another one oh 100 damage oh my word and then we're going to do an encore and hit him really hard again boom yes all right this guy is on death's door no pun intended Bonk time Spin to Win time sorry about your face woo not even close close not even close I was on my final quest of the base game and the crazy part was I was hours ahead of schedule could I keep up the speed oh I've got this hand there don't you even worry this is my This Is My Jam we're going to we're going to play some tunes all over this guy hiya going away you're not going to see this face anymore because this face right here provided us mushroom answerer to get us through low rank what a beautiful face it is but it will not hold up in master Andrew one look at this furry little rodent two he takes down trees three he's pushing wood around like beavers do to make dams four this mission is called band Barrel blockade because he made a dam that's what beavers do and five just because he has horns doesn't mean that he's not a beaver he's a big old cutie that's what he is yes he is Barrow you're correct about that for sure he's definitely it was time for Baro the First wall of iceborn our next one is Baro right what do you guys think you think I can take down Baro Barth has always been the monster that I've done okay on even though the quest is supposed to be really hard that doesn't mean that I'm amazing it just might mean that I have Baro figured out but it also might mean that I'm amazing here we go we're back with Baro dodo horn some ban Barrel armor it it's all upgraded with the armor spheres but we're not using any newer armor yet we'll see how this goes uh Dodge Dodge oh we dodged that we did not Dodge that there we go have unique breaks on them and there was one missing so I added to it but otherwise weaboo did all of this work thanks to weaboo for setting all this up so we have alatreon ban Barrow baroth Frost Fang Baro baroth botus Diablos black Diablos Fatalis curan kosala Deora KT safija lunastra nante runer nante rajang Furious Raj teostra fana rathen pink rathen and gold rathen great giros Rabon uron aninth fuler aninth glavenus acidic glavenus zogre stigan zogre and Black Veil valh haak The One change that I made with the list is that I combined KT and safy together and the only reason I did that is because they're only around every two weeks in the game and I don't want to wait two weeks to then fire up the last hour of the challenge to see if I can break the horn off a monster so that puts us as a to at a total of 32 monsters with breakable horns or heads and my goal is to break all of them I would have the remaining time of the challenge to break the horns off of all these monsters they must be broken in The Guiding lands if they're able to spawn there all the horn breaks must be done solo with the exception of cul tooth or safija in addition there were Stakes on the line if I got less than 20 horn Breaks by the end end of 100 hours I'd be stuck wearing the mosswine helmet for the entire next 100 hour weapon Challenge and if I cross 20 horn breaks well I'll fill you in if I get there 51 hours to break all these horns get master rank 99 to unlock ruer nante in The Guiding lands and bust the horns of alatreon and Fatalis solo game on I started the guided lands by getting a setup I think with this huge upgrade taken care of I got back into the guid lands for pink Ran's face break then took down the region unlock Quest For Hitting master rank 69 this gave me the opportunity to get a few more horn breaks one shot eight or nine there's the face break finally yes I can't believe I'm happy about this but we got rajang this is another horn did we get him let's see if we got horns on them oh we got them the horns are gone y'all that's 27 yep so we're just going to do colorful Carnival until we get the monster we need to spawn in The Guiding lands and you may be wondering Tails why are you doing colorful Carnival well runer nante unlocks at mr99 and we're at 74 and we need runer nur's horns so uh we're going to do some uh Mr grinding while we're waiting for the monster we need to spawn to spawn so the bason squad and I spent hours beating up some chickens to level up my master rank then we'd come back to the Gathering Hub to see if gold wrathy and her current spawn in The Guiding lands we wanted to hit 28 horn breaks to unlock the next part of the wager which would have me doing another 100 hunts in The Guiding lands video and then let me see what uh waiting for you gu lands look like first oh oh oh baby I know what this is chat I'm sorry but we don't get to hunt together this time that is gold WRA and I'm I can count on it because that's a we made it 5 hours of colorful Carnival taking down chickens and we took down the biggest chicken of them all after this I got back into the colorful Carnival to get to master rank 99 99 we made it 7 hours and 40 minutes of the colorful Carnival and we never have to do it again yep I got to stock up here we're going to get some food we're going to go talk to Matt Mercer and then we're going to go fight nerie I immediately ran to get the quest started and got to work very nice yes very nice big boom here we [Music] go there we go oh a I guess he was really close to dead I didn't realize he was that [Laughter] close that was huge we did it we did it we got our 28th horn break we unlocked runer nante which next stream we're going to be able to go fight him in the guiding lands we got to get Curran still but Curran's available as soon as we get it to spawn in the guidy land so we'll take care of that that right away next stream and then it's onto a latri on and Fatalis and that's how we're going to end our last our last hours in the 100 hours here I had three horns to break to earn the title of a hunting horn master with 5 hours left on the clock it was time for the finale good morning and welcome to the finale of the 100h hour hunting horn challenge today is the last day we made it I hunted a few monsters in the guiding lands to get the wild Spire waste level to 7 all right Punchy all you buddy there we go then it was time to find Curran and runer nante all right so now we see do we have our monster we do not so we We join this and then we're going to leave right away cuz we can't we don't have any other hunts to do unless we're going to farm up equipment for latum time to deal with this Menace one last time oh my gosh second one let's go go baby I got to eat food talking about doing a dragon weapon and that it's risky but possible for it to be good against both if we can get the horns of alatreon we probably won't beat alatreon with the dragon weapon but we don't need to we just need to get the horns off of it so if we build a dragon weapon we can use it both for alatreon and Fatalis we have 3 hours to farm up equipment take on alatreon and Fatalis and get their horns to become a hunting horn master yeah I've got a Savage Jo hornn already I guess I didn't realized I had that we're going devil Joe we're going devil Joe for now we're going to try it that we got to the end of The 100 hour hunting horn challenge all right chat look at that 100 hours we started literally at rank zero no experience with the hunting horn minus the tier list video I did the 20 minutes I played with it in this challenge I thought for sure I was going to hate this weapon I thought that the hunting horn was a meme I thought it was just a gimmick something that people played just because it's goofy looking and man was I wrong I was so wrong it only took me two missions essentially to know that this weapon is insane it's so much fun we went through the entire base game and iceborn campaign with one failed Quest we only failed the quest to nergigante the first time outside of that we lost zero quests from the start of the base game through iceborn story in The Guiding lands we had 32 monsters that had unique horns to break or faces to break and we got 31 31 the last monster was Fatalis what that's crazy we got the horns off of alatreon I can't believe it I'm proud of myself for what I got to do with this I'm grateful for all of you for being a part of the dream for being a part of the ride here thank you for your support for your kind words for your tips for getting me through this 100 hours with such an awesome awesome weapon and I hope in the future that you guys play this weapon for yourself cuz it's a great time we made it thanks for
