I Built a High-Power Scooter

in this video me and my brother are going to build a homemade hyper scooter and our goal is to go faster than 60 miles per hour oh my God we're currently on the road taking a two-hour road trip to go pick up a kid's moped to make our scooter out of it it's got some power dude all right dude I'll meet you home okay see you in two hours all right buddy the reason we went with this moped is because with a little bit of modification this thing can make a crazy scooter [Music] oh it's looking [Applause] now that the moped was stripped down to the frame you can see it was designed for someone to sit on so to make it work as a scooter we have to lengthen the handlebars and the frame [Music] [Applause] [Music] now we're adding steel bars to strengthen this Frame [Music] this is the last look at our frame before we paint it we're gonna paint a beautiful blue color [Music] foreign [Music] special that we've been waiting two months to get oh oh my gosh dude there it is our battery to make an electronic vehicle work you basically need three things you need a motor a controller and a battery the motor is usually pretty cheap the controller can be a bit more expensive but nothing compares to the battery and because we're trying to get this scooter to go 60 miles per hour this battery was eight hundred dollars only problem it was more or less scraping the ground okay so as you can see there's not much clearance here and there's not much clearance here our plan is to cut these two things and we're going to raise the back end like this that way we have just enough clearance to be able to ride on the road comfortably it's a lot nice dude that's awesome [Music] dude that's solid [Music] okay so what we're trying to do right now is basically make a case to hold this battery to the bottom of the scooter the fastest easiest way we figure to do that would just be to bend a sheet of metal around it [Music] [Applause] thank you what we got we got the chain on we gotta wire it up now it's time to test it wow what dude that's fast that was like instant holy cow holy crap this thing's got power dude oh my God oh my God you see how fast I was holy crap [Music] oh my god oh what the heck okay go go ahead dude whoa slow well this sucks when Kobe test drove it and tried to go as fast as he could he actually sent so much electricity to the motor that it started smoking oh brunch up wires when we took it apart the wires were burnt to a crisp they're supposed to look like this we got some new parts this is the fan we're gonna use the cooled off even further [Music] foreign [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] as another precaution to keep the motor from overheating we wanted to tune the controller where it wouldn't send so much electricity tuning is basically a process where you take a phone connected to the controller and adjust a bunch of different parameters like top speed and Battery current and at the time we didn't know this but if you missed this process up by pressing the wrong button listen closely you can hear our 800 battery destroying itself we gotta get away from the house don't breathe that in don't don't watch out oh get the garden hose on get the garden hose on we can't throw you can't you can't what Cole can't do that to a battery I don't want it to burn up [Music] I'm not gonna lie to you guys this is a really hard hit for both of us we're simply not going to be able to afford another battery right now so we're gonna have to put this project on hold [Music] okay so these are our new parts we had this battery custom built so it's going to fit the scooter extremely extremely well thank you foreign [Music] yes dude yes yes I think we're making a good choice here so this is our hyper scooter it has 5 000 Watts which equates to about 7 horsepower we have a heat diffuser on the motor so we won't overheat and to slow this thing down we have massive hydraulic disc brakes for the battery we have a custom built 30 amp hour 72 volt which means this thing's going to go at least 100 miles on a single charge but what we really want to know how fast does it go all right this is the top speed run I feel pretty good with all the stuff on let's hope nothing goes wrong [Music] I'm pretty nervous right now guys looks awesome but we still built it out all right I'm at the end of the line I got about a half mile thread all right here goes nothing [Music] thank you [Music] dude what 60 miles per hour no wait 60 miles per hour dude 60 60. our scooter that we built at home went over 60 miles per hour now after a couple more runs we actually got that number to 65. but how crazy is that this moped was meant to go 16. so I just want to humbly ask you guys something if you were to subscribe to our Channel you're not just supporting some guy trying to click bait you for views you're supporting a family who truly loves what they've seen [Music] all done
