2023 is coming to a close and that can only mean one thing at Tech y c and that is the PC parts AR not just of the month but of the Year where we are going to find the best deals high and low though speaking of deals we already have something in the boot here this is the first deal we have already lined up where it was just a PC a Windows 7 PC that's what they said in the ad they were asking hundred Aussie dolls for it and I put in an offer of 60 and this includes a monitor and all I saw in the ad was monitor b85 motherboard box and so I was like okay I'm going to take a gamble on it because they did not know what was really inside this PC I'm hoping hoping there's an i7 in there and some other juicy stuff so we'll check that out when we get home took a little bit of a lucky dip also for you Lads International and in the US I'll put up of course the USD pricing as well so you can compare and see if your deals are better or worse than the ones we're getting at techs City and speaking of other deals we've also lined up two deals later on this evening where we're just waiting for the people to finish work one of those is an RTX 390 a whole PC for $2,000 Aussie and I'll tell you what my cruel intentions are with that PC once I get it there's also an RTX 280 for 300 Aussie and we're going to go see Les right now so let's get Popa lopping wild and loose here at Tech City and see what deals unravel on the road and also if you're wondering about the new shades dad man found them at the dump and he gifted them to me never pay full price for Windows 10 or 11 again with today's video sponsor SCD Keys you can get activated for as little as $15 using that coupon bftc links in description [Music] below [Music] so we just finished up at the one the only Les's place and he had some cracka lacking deals for us where we got four Dell not just Optiplex but the precisions these are better Dells in that they've got four slots of memory so I can not only burn some real good value here but also burn my 4 GB DDR3 RAM sticks to make a 16 GB kit on that gaming PC and also if you're wondering uh about the recasing it's actually really easy all you have to do is just pretty much uh tweak the power supply uh switch at the top there on the motherboard and when you sell it you just say look every time you boot up your PC you just got to press F1 and people if they're buying the cheap uh PC cheap enough they're just not going to care it's that simple so we got those four Dells for 360 Aussie 990 each a pop and then we also had a laptop which the only reason I'm buying a laptop is cuz someone's already booked up a PC and they want to get a laptop as well for their mom or something so I've booked this one up off Les I got this for $180 Aussie dollar it's a 6 gen i7 Adele laptop with the Charger looks like it's in extremely good condition Les actually does sell really good value laptops so pick that one up that's in the kitty but from here on in we have to go and get a ryzen 5 3600 for 0 Aussie and the reason I'm getting this for not 80 or cheaper is cuz someone's booked up a gaming PC with a ryzen 5 they wanted a 3600 or 5500 at a roughly a particular price point so I've got to provide the goods and so I came in at 80 Aussie doll the guy came in and said look I'm not going any lower than 90 and I said yep that's fine with me I got to go get this thing so we're going to go collect that and then also later in the day we have confirmed that RTX 3090 PC I'm really looking forward to this one this one's a special and I'm also waiting for a few more deals to get back to me cuz I want to pick up as much as I can but let's get cracker lackan on the road so we just got the ryzen 5 3600 little bit of a weird story with this one and that was the guy said to be there after 3:00 I showed up at about 10 3 I was waiting about 20 minutes for the guy then he said he was like stuck at work still and he couldn't get back and I'm thinking okay man well I'm just sitting here waiting and anyway he then got his shair mate to come out and let me in and show me the CPU and then I picked it up and I checked it out and I said to him cuz they were on the phone talking while I was there and I said this has got bent pins on it you said in the ad I think they said it was perfectly working and it was like in perfect condition and I said this has got Ben pins like this isn't perfectly working at all there's a risk I could um have a faulty CPU here and then his actually his sham mate was really cool uh his sham mate is was Brazilian and it's something I'm going to sort of interlude and give you Brazilians a shout out cuz every Brazilian I've met in Australia has been chill and honest and his sham mate the Brazilian guy is just like yeah there's bent pins on that like I can see it too and so the guy is then like well okay and I said well I'm not paying $90 for this CPU then he said okay well I'll do it for 50 and I'm like well okay so now I got this CPU I got to take a bit of a gamble on it I do have uh bent penob with AMD CPUs lately because the last CPU in Japan I tried to fix uh admittedly it had half the pins on the CPU were all bent it was actually a viewer cented in as kind of like a dare I I don't know if you guys remember I did this failed live stream and I couldn't bend it back after hours even though I got two sides in on the motherboard but I then gave it to Marco and Marco said he would fix it back in Taiwan I think wow going back like six or seven months now so I think even Marco who said he was the master Bender could fix it and he hasn't fixed it either so this CPU is cursed but did leave me with B panophobia so we got this ryzen 5 3600 comes with a cooler as well 50 Aussie dollars I am going to try and fix it as soon as I get home the next deal is the RTX 3090 deal it's really close to where I am and I am about 50 minutes away from home and they say they're going to meet me in about an hour so if I was to go home and then come back it's just a total waste of gas so I'm just going to wait here look for some more deals on my smartphone while I'm waiting and then hopefully this is the PC I'm I'm really excited about this one hopefully it works out he's going to show me it all up and running so I'm really excited about this next [Music] deal so here it is right here the RTX 39 90 gaming PC with a 13700 K and 32 GB of RAM this Corsair case and it actually ended up having more storage than they listed in the ads so 1 TB m.2 as well as an extra 512 megabytes it's got a Corsair 75w power supply so uh the guy also showed me it up and running as well I did look through it all and made sure it was 100% before I bought this thing and he's just basically moving in between houses at the moment he works in it and he just said he never ends up using his gaming PC anymore and he just wanted to offload it and it made sense to me he was um really nice guy actually so this is just an amazing pickup so we need this back to the tech Studio because I've actually got to rush and pick up these two deals before it gets too late we got that ddr5 64 GB we're going to go pick up and that RTX 3060 but also after I pick up the 3060 I may just do another quick scan and see if any other deals come up because this is like Common Sense the more gpus you buy the more money you save that's right the more gpus you buy the more money you [Music] save [Music] so we just picked up this RTX 360 and it was extremely straightforward in terms of a deal he just pretty much had the GPU there in his garage and paid him and now we're going to leave but I do want to get all this stuff back to the tech studio and it's starting to get dark but I'm going to look at getting some more deals cracker lacking still cuz I just like I've already picked up some pretty good solid deals already but I want to keep this one going so unfortunately we didn't come up with any more deals tonight but we're going to try in the morning and we're back now at the TCH Studio we have all the parts that we have unpacked so far during this Parts hunt and here's this PC right here I've reinstalled Windows 10 on this system and also when it comes to the lucky dip right here I'm actually going to find out in the morning as you guys know if there's any possibilities of negative news wait until the next morning because in my mind this has an i7 in it and it's got 16 GB of RAM and then this CPU right here we're going to try and bend the pins back in the morning too see if we can get that working but let's uh let's rest up and make some magic [Music] happen [Music] we are now waking up the next morning after doing a lot of testing and cleaning we've got good and bad news and the bad news is straight away we'll get on to this this lucky dip PC I opened the side panel up and I saw a single stick of memory soon as I saw that I knew yep I know what I'm getting here an I3 or a pennium and sure enough got the I3 4160 4 GB of RAM so really wasn't that good but at least we pulled the motherboard out that is working absolutely fine I put a i7 in there 16 GB of RAM the power supply is working of course we get that monitor so it was still a good deal it's just I was hoping for even an five and maybe 8 GB of RAM something mid-range of course the i7 being the best pull out of the bunch but not to worry that is working fine and then we tested out that ryzen CPU we got the pins bent back absolutely fine and that is working 100% then over here we have performed a magic trick on this RTX 390 PC and basically what we did here was clean it all up and take out the two basic 12 CM fans Chuck in a full pack of RGB and then put in a 40 80 and you're probably thinking like Brian what is going on with chucking into a 4080 well that's what's selling at the moment now hear me out here this is uh taking out the 3090 putting in the 4080 is going to sell better and we're going to put that up for the price that we paid so 2 Grand Plus ,800 for the 480 we're going to sell this for 3.8 roughly and then after that we get our free 380 so this is what's going to happen here we're just basically going to get a three a free 3080 out of all this and you can sell these in Australia at the moment for roughly $1,100 they'll clear for this one I did have to change the thermal paste over and that wasn't too much of a problem and the way you can tell usually with the thermal paste is the cooler will just start ramping up really quickly with heat as opposed to when we've changed it now the cooler the temperatures just climb very slowly as opposed to after we've changed the thermal base the temperatures just climb up slowly and saturate the cooler with the heat so that's working fine now everything everything's good there got our RTX 3060 working absolutely fine too and one thing I do like about this RTX 3060 is the logo lights up the GeForce RTX logo it's also got this nice white light here and that's actually really cool when you're flipping a PC for the photo shoot so actually a really cool model they all Lesar PCS he's already showed me these all up and running at his place and this ddr5 memory I actually don't have anything to worry about with this because it does does have the invoice with it and the warranty so not really worried there so overall we are on a roll here so far but there's also an ad that's come up on Marketplace and that is for this GPU where they've spilled milk on it but it does look like a GTX 970 so they're saying it's faulty it doesn't work there was milk spilt on it I'm going to go check it out because one thing about gpus that have liquid spills on them a lot of the times they just work because the short circuit protection kicks in turns the card off and then if it's still of course got the milk or traces left over there it's going to have that capacitive value and that's going to make the card not work so they're going to take it out and instead of cleaning it and trying to get it working again it's just going to think it's faulty and so you guys might have seen that I've actually fixed up a whole flood damaged PC by just cleaning out all the parts properly and that whole PC worked again if you guys haven't seen that video I'll put the link up here but that was crazy before and after but I'm going to go try my luck on this one because I think it's worth [Music] it so here's this GTX 960 4 GB and looking at the front it looks okay but then if we look at the back looks like it's really damaged so uh this is like I said I've had a good success rate with spillages so what I'm going to do is when I get home I'm going to remove the back plate and give it some tech yes loving and see if we get this thing working again but thing is there's nothing not much to lose here 20 bucks so I figured I'm in a bit of a gambling mood and because we had bad luck with that I3 system maybe my luck will turn around so this is either going to be a really good deal or a really bad deal but speaking of deals we've lined up a 97 100K motherboard and 32 GB of RAM they're asking 400 I put in an offer of 250 initially they said it's a bit too low and then I came in at 275 and they've accepted so we're going to pick that up now as well then looking around for any other deals I did miss out on this PC it was a whole PC for 150 I just missed out on that so I was devastated there there was a 1050 TI some RAM and an i38100 they're asking 75 I putting an offer of 50 so hopefully we can get that as the final deal [Music] [Music] here so this right here marks the final deal of today's Parts hunt the i7 9700 K combo but I'm actually really Keen to get back to the tech studio and clean this thing up and see if it works uh but the person I picked this up off his name was Tim really nice guy he watches the channel so shout out to Tim for meeting up and just being a really cool dude as well yeah let's uh let's see what we can do with this [Music] gtx960 [Music] [Applause] [Music] so unfortunately so this GTX 960 we gave it out all and really brought it up to a really clean PCB but unfortunately it just shorts out the power supply in other words there's something that's been damaged while the milk was spilt on the GPU but I'm not too concerned there because I've actually bought off this guy a few years ago in terms of other parts and so he actually told me to message him if it doesn't work and if it doesn't work he'll take care of me in the future in some other way so I'm not too concerned there but a little bit little bit down that I couldn't get it to run cuz I have had a really good success rate with spillages on gpus but not to worry we have the tally here that I'll throw up on the screen for you guys for this this Parts hunt and it has been just a mammoth amount of pots that we've had come through here this month my favorite deal was that 390 deal and I'm going to pop that 3090 up for sale already put the 480 in there and that's going to be a huge huge flip in terms of just getting it done in one go though other parts of course those 30 60 12 gigs whenever you can pick them up for the right price they're going to go really well with the build that i79700k combo is going to mate perfectly with that 3060 and then I'll put it into a build which actually someone's already booked up that build I've just got to build it up and then make a nice tidy profit on that ultimately this month and last month are the months where if you're into PC flipping you definitely want to be on the ball because there is just so many people that are hungry for gaming PCs coming up to Christmas then of course going into January it gets really quiet so I'm just going all out on all different angles and fronts here providing the value any way I can anyhow hope you guys enjoyed this one but in terms of the market itself I'm noticing that graphics cards are getting a little bit more scarce and they are going up a little bit in price but that's all to do I feel with just the demand of this season I think January if you're looking for a GPU deal the prices will be a bit better but the 490s and this is why I'm liking the 4080 builds right now cuz the 4080 builds here in Australia are the actual card itself is significantly cheaper than the 490s forance since the cheapest I can get a 4080 for even new is $1,800 Aussie and the cheapest a 30 4090 is going for is around 3,200 so they've actually gone up about $500 here in price since when I first came back to Australia a few months ago so that's a concerning Trend with the 490s but of course we saw that ban in China and a lot of gpus got redistributed to there but I think for the price difference it's much better if you're looking at the high end to just go with the 4080 if you're in Australia even in the US I think the prices of 49s are like 2,000 us and then you got the 480s for 1,000 us I honestly wouldn't be too concerned with missing out on 20% performance for half the price that's a much better deal the final thing we had a feel around was that 1050 TI they haven't gotten back to us so I'm hoping they do because that would be a pretty solid deal too the last thing to talk about is that inflation you guys like it when I talk a little bit about tech yes finance and here is where the inflation is running a little bit hot here in Australia still I just see it as a thing that's going to continually run hot as we talked about in previous Finance videos where the economies of scale has really dried up and all you're left with is money printing by central banks and governments and that is basically a recipe for continued higher inflation so wherever you are in the world always look for a good deal and just pounce on it when you can and the used Market of course is the best place to get the best price performance when it comes to Deals anyhow I hope you guys enjoyed the final used PC parts hunt of 2023 and I look forward to giving you guys a lot more used price performance videos coming to your subboxes and into 2024 we are going to go hard harder than we've ever gone in the history of teia City so if you want to see the videos as soon as they drop then be sure to hit that subscribe button ring that Bell you'll get the videos as soon as they drop here and also we got episode three I'm working on that getting out the $100 flip up challenge that is my main priority right now and I'll see you in the next one peace out for now [Music] bye
