I Bought The $1000 Yeezy Pod Shoes

in this bag is the Yeezy poot it cost $20 and is made in Italy but in this box is the $11,000 Balenciaga sock shoe 1,000 $1,000 which started the Yeezy sock Wars so for some context on this back in December when Yeezy brand released the Yeezy pods Balenciaga made a post on Instagram revealing their brand new sock shoot not long after that veton also chimed in by making a post clarifying that they made the original Yeezy sock shoe back in 2016 I mean who knew sock shoes could cause such controversy either way months later many people have received their Yeezy pods and have been wearing them around obviously others are still waiting for their orders because I mean I don't really need to get into all of that if you do order a pair of Yeezy pod socks then you can expect to wait at least a month before you get them in so today we're going to be taking a look at the $20 Yeezy pod sock and of course the $11,000 Balenciaga ones to find out if these are really worth over $900 more I guess it's a good time to start the comparison with the unboxing because uh really the easy pods all they come in is this nylon bag with an elasticated drawstring that bag is placed in a shipping bag so that's really all you're getting it's very very basic but honestly for $20 it's not bad considering they could have just slapped these things together chucked them in a shipping bag and send them out at least you get a nylon drawring bag but I think it's pretty safe to assume the Balenciaga ones are going to be be pretty different let's unbox these things let's see what this $1,000 version is all about that box was for this much smaller box pretty much all sneakers from Balenciaga come in this gray box with the Balenciaga Tech it's nothing crazy it just you know it's it's a gray box there's nothing super premium about it all right so let's see you get a a nylon troll string bag as well this one definitely feels a bit more premium but at the end of the day it is just a nylon bag it doesn't feel like anything special of course you got the Balenciaga text and you've got some actual normal draw strings that are not elasticated let's see what these things are all about oh my God this is the $1,000 Yeezy pod socks but they're Balenciaga wow this is actually absurd so nothing else in the Box just this and I will say you do get some paper inside to hold the shape of the socks I guess oh wait inside you do get a little bit more uh paper I guess okay so they're trying to stuff it with stuff but I don't know if this is really doing anything I mean it's a pair of socks I'm actually lost for words right now that these cost $1,000 I mean what the hell is going on here look at this see they look the same like what are we even talking about here there are some differences but just like initial glance look at these things is this $1,000 versus $20 the material is what is really stomping me here because it feels almost identical like I thought there was going to be some crazy knit that feels you know there's layers to it or something but these could have been made in the exact same Factory and you would not know it the soles on these things have a very similar feel in fact the Yeezy pods feel a lot thicker like there's a lot more cushioning in there the shape is very very similar though like if you take a look from the top this little side portion over here is very very similar as you can see from one to the other same thing on the other side very very similar shape it's actually remarkable that this exists the Yeezy pods are a lot taller they come up a lot higher which I actually feel like I would prefer the balenciagas in that respect they're a little bit lower so they kind of just look a little bit better than these things which on some people are like nii the ezy pods are also not exactly black you can see the difference here there's like a tiny bit of a brownish tone to them which you can only really tell when they're compared to an actual black product on their own they do look black when they're with something that's actually black they do look different the main separating factor is obviously going to be the outsole even though it's still extremely similar like it has the exact same traction of these lines the material feels somewhat similar although honestly I would say that the Yeezy pods feel more premium like there's something better about them this kind of feels like like slippery just plasticky rubber whereas this almost feels a little bit closer to a foam unlike the Yeezy pods which say made in Italy on the bottom the Balenciaga ones just say Balenciaga and then they add a little sticker there for the size which again is another big separating Factor the easy pods only come in three sizes one two and three for small medium large whereas the Balenciaga ones come in a full size range typical to you know what you would normally find on a pair of sneakers so I got a size 42 which is a uk8 US I believe because that is my true size and they do look pretty similar in terms of oh no okay so the Balenciaga ones are a lot longer which is going to be very weird this does not seem like a size 42 it seems a lot bigger o okay this is something that's pretty different inside this Balenciaga one you've got an insult which is again very similar to a normal pair of shoes and this is where you can see it says made in Italy now the material on this does not feel like anything incredible it feels like a very standard pair of insoles that you would find on a pair of shoes this feels like a felt material it's certainly not leather or anything like that just yeah cheap felt material and then what you're left with once you do remove this is a very very thin piece of rubber that is extremely bendable which is really interesting they went for this route because the Yeezy pods have a much thicker mids salt like I know if you've ever tried these things if you bought a pair of these $20 Yeezy pods you may have thought oh they're pretty thin they're they're not that comfortable but when you compare them to these valenciaga ones you're like damn these things have some cushioning in them it's h definitely a lot softer but I guess we've got to throw these things on compare them and see what they're all about and I've got to show these things to Dylan man because this is crazy heading to Dylan all right we don't want to hear you say come on in I've shown you a number of wild wacky and colorful sneakers in your time but today I think it might take the cake all right in one hand I have the Yeezy pod $20 and in the other hand I have the $1,000 Balenciaga Yeezy pod I'm going to put him in your hands give him a little feel and I just want to hear what you think 1,000 $1,000 all right let me let me just inspect the easy pods I've seen Yeezy pods I felt Yeezy pods before Ain't No Way in fact you get more material easy fod that is shocking can I put them on put them on they're $11,000 you sure put them hey I already ready put them on myself the Yeezy pods are more comfortable they've got a thicker Soul what the balenciaga's the biggest L even the shape is like pretty much identical to be fair you don't see glue like that's got a bit of glue around the side you don't see that there and they profit margins must be insane cuz if you're making profit off of these at 20 bucks I need you to call every person that's bought these and interview them let's say if the price was the same which one would you pick uh they're both $20 probably these the Balenciaga ones well it's hard because neither of them fit me but yeah I I guess so they've got a full this they don't have the glue easy pods you said were more comfortable that is yeah so any final thoughts um no I just I just want to hear the justification from someone that actually bought those that would be so interesting finding who whoever bought these you bought them except for me okay except for me yes the reality is that the price sets these things so far apart that it's uh pretty tough to even try and compare them but if we did and had to put it down to very practical aspects I would say that the Yeezy pods are definitely more comfortable they've got a decent amount more cushioning than this which I mean neither of them have that much cushioning so it's saying something however the balenciagas because they do come in normal sneaker size range it does definitely help instead of picking from one two and three knit material on these things is so indistinguishable I'm pretty sure that if I was blindfolded and just felt this I probably wouldn't be able to tell the difference both of them have a very thick and very stretchy material which does hug to the feet and is pretty nice however I will say the balenciagas are just better made like they don't have glue stains or any errors like these ones do they've got you know a couple different Stitch marks and wrong things but but again all of this could just be down to the fact where you could be like well they are just $20 but at the end of the day the wildest thing about this is that both of these shoes were technically made by designer Brands offering damn near the same product except one of them is the same cost as a McDonald's meal and the other one could be rent I got to hear from you guys what do you think of this down in the comments section does anybody
