tell what is good everybody and thank you so much for stopping by the channel for today's video we're gonna be talking about all the best denim that the industry has to offer all in hopes to help you decide which one is best for you with each pair of denim I will be ascribing a score which is completely subjective the criteria is going to be based off of quality to cost essentially pointing to the denim's overall value in tandem with how often I personally would opt to wear the jeans now just before we proceed I did want to get you familiar with a few different terms that might come up in today's video the first one being raw raw denim essentially speaks into the fact that the denim is in its most pure form it's raw state if you will some actually refer it to dry denim because it's never actually undergone any type of wash process which takes us to the second term that's going to come up in today's video I'm sure you guys are well familiar with it but it is the wash of denim as I've kind of hinted too companies use a wash process to get a specific style of look color softness and detailing which does include whiskering and finally the term Selvage now the term Selvage generally is associated with being a top tier quality and while that might be somewhat true there isn't necessarily anything that is high quality about Selvage specifically Selvage denim actually speaks into the attention to detail taken when crafting that denim using older styles of denim construction and so with that let's go ahead and begin today's video with the first pair of denim and that is from acne Studios this pair is made in Italy and is comprised of an extremely soft nicely washed denim acne Studios private cell phone using 100 organic cotton priced at 370 dollars you definitely pay for what you get from this pair as this is going to rank among the more expensive pairs of denim in today's video taking all things mentioned into consideration I do rank this pair of denim a 7.2 out of 10. this pair of denim is very very nice the wash is amazing made in Italy the craftsmanship is definitely there but the price point is as well this next pair is from Abercrombie if you guys don't know ambercrombie's really been leaning into that American Vintage look and that design language definitely follows all the way through to their denim line this pair is what is known as the 90s straight denim comprised of 99 cotton and one percent elastin you're gonna get a solid amount of stretch to this pair which does add a little bit more mobility and comfort with that these are going to be priced at 89 almost a hundred dollars for a fast fashion pair of jeans that of which doesn't even really feel that good of quality so for that reason I can't give ambercrombie's denim anything higher than a six out of 10 and it's even ranking that high because you have the convenience of going into the store and trying on their various fits if you're looking for something quick and easy definitely head over there because the denim is not bad by any shred it's just pretty overpriced for what it is sticking to the topic of fast fashion next up this pair is from H and M priced at 35 this denim is very very thin and doesn't feel like it's going to hold up over time but with that said I will rank this denim a bit higher than Ambercrombie because while Ambercrombie is at ninety dollars for their cheaper feeling denim h m is 34.99 again I do consider this pair to be among the lowest of tier when it comes to Denim quality for the price it being almost a third of the price of Amber probably and very close to quality of Abercrombie I'll give these a 6.75 out of 10. moving on to the next denim brand we have minimal La a company that's been no stranger here to the channel because I genuinely rock with the company I'm actually wearing their denim as we speak the quality of their denim is very very high as I've kind of mentioned earlier referring to acne that denim is 14 ounces minimum features denim anywhere from 13 all the way up to 16 ounces and that is a company standard they offer a myriad of different washes lengths Styles Cuts you name it they are going to have it and so for those reasons I do find minimal to be just the best in terms of kind of that more fast Fashion Avenue at 50 to 58 dollars and when you take into account the quality the different washes and everything that they have to offer in terms of fit minimal definitely has to rank up there for me you guys know any time that I mention minimal fear of God isn't too far behind this next pair of denim is from fear of God's diffusion line fear of God Essentials at a price point of 189 and produced in Vietnam fear of God is known for their legendary level of washing and the same Rings true all the way down to the fusion line I don't know what it is about what Jerry does but he just seems to have the perfect concoction to make denim just look Immaculate especially when you consider the fact that a lot of retailers currently have this denim at up to 50 off I will provide those links down below for your viewing pleasure but with that for me I have to rank this denim pretty high if you're able to get them on sale I'll give them an eight and a half out of ten with that being said you might have noticed that I didn't mention that the sphere about Essentials denim is made of denim and that's because it is not this next pair of however is everything from fear of God Mainline is going to be comprised of selfish denim the practices that include using Selvage denim historically requires a lot more craftsmanship and that definitely Rings true as they are only made here in La for that reason fear of God denim retails at a price point of a thousand dollars you might be thinking yourself pull a thousand dollars for denim how is that going to be hot value as a product of that you're probably going to rank this down below and to that I say you do have a point but I still have to rank this denim very very high when you consider the intense level of specific craftsmanship that goes in to producing this denim they're made in very small batches and require the proper tutelage and training here in Los Angeles fear of God has to get a nine and a half out of ten from me so anytime I do a video on high value clothes there's going to be a very good chance I feature this next brand and it's from none other than Uniqlo I do have a few pairs of denim from Uniqlo they do offer a ton of different variety at their store when it comes to Denim and the quality is just as good nothing but High marks for Uniqlo the only downside is the Uniqlo U denim tends to sell out really really quick and so for that reason I highly suggest joining the Locust Mahoney Facebook group as we tend to share all of like the links as soon as they release in their I digress Uniqlo does get a score of an 8.5 from me just amazing level of value when it comes to this company this next pairs of denim aren't necessarily A brand per se but more so a category because it should go without question that vintage denim has to make a list that consists of value and quality at the end of the day this could constitute some of the most high quality yet affordable denim as you can't find this stuff at the thrift store for as low as like a dollar of course it does require a little bit of shopping and some footwork but for those who are diligent you can find some really great items out there it's hard to give vintage janama score because it's not a repeatable thing so I'm gonna abdicate the scoring system for vintage denim but I highly suggest going down this Avenue if you're looking for really really awesome denim all right and so right back into denim that you can actually find in stores we have three pairs over from Levi's all three of these pairs are 501s just in different variations first we have the standard 501 which does retail at right around 60 dollars now this is probably going to be a bit of a hot take but I find the standard 501s that are available on the website to be very very mid at best mainly due to the fact that they don't fit good at all these do feature the modern 501 fitment which to me in my opinion fit more like like a tapered pair of denim quality is all right nice weight to them a bit more on the rigid side but yeah overall I'm just not a fan of the modern 501s that are readily available on the site a little side note you know the brand denim tears this is actually the denim that they use and repurpose and Rebrand as denim tears and sell for three hundred dollars no shade I'm actually a customer I have a pair of denim tears denim but just thought that would be something worth mentioning as I know a lot of you guys love denim tears overall I'm gonna rank this denim six and a half out of ten now before y'all flame me if you check out Levi's website the ratings are very very low on there as well now if you're looking for a great fitting pair of Levi's 501 you're gonna have to pay a little bit more 128 dollars but you're gonna get a much more true to the OG 501 fit these are the Levi's OG 501 Salvage at that price point of 100 28 dollars you're not only getting the OG fit of a 501 but in addition to that they are going to be comprised of Selvage denim these feel much better to the touch feature a bit more structure being comprised of I believe it's 76 percent cotton the rest of it being hemp this pair of denim definitely much more worthy of being called Levi's 501 for that reason I'm going to give these an 8 out of 10 in terms of value and quality to the dollar for the last pair from Levi's these are the Levi's Salvage OG 1954. these are going to be priced at 300 which is definitely a very high price for a pair of Levi's for this pair you're going to have a few different details that are reminiscent of a 50s pair of Levi's 501 namely you're going to see the tag it's going to have that 501z nomenclature which is what they had back then you have the button slash a zipper fly closure which is in contrast to what they do today which is full button closure and finally you have an amazing construction process as Levi's did go ahead and partner up with a Japanese Artisan Mill which focuses solely on making 1950s Style Salvage denim at a price point of 300 bucks they're definitely very expensive but with that being said the attention to detail craftsmanship and construction kind of warrants that so for that reason I'm gonna rank these a 9 out of 10. all right now to go ahead and wrap up today's denim list we have the Richie Lee collection denim I absolutely had to make the Richie Lee denim a part of today's video as it's become an absolute Staple in the locus and Wild Honey Community because ritually denim does go above and beyond when it comes to the attention to detail with regard to their wash process the way that they fit and of course the nice level of stretchiness or pliability that comes along with their 98 cotton and two percent spandex blend priced at about 90 bucks I feel like the Richie Lee collection is that awesome happy medium of where Comfort meets quality at a solid price point for that
