Oh boy another wide body build, only missing things are some wonky aftermarket wheels with giant spacers. I know it’s not his style, but I would love to see a clean build instead of another car that looks like it’s out of a bad video game.

Been a subscriber since the first BRZ build, so I’m not a hater, I just was hoping Chris would eventually evolve a little.

I've been lusting after a CF airplane Dark Aero and if you look at the instagram of that channel it is clear how absolutely complicated it is to do CF correctly. Having built a wood strip canoe and several vacuum formed CF models, it is really hard to keep the weight down while also getting rid of pinholes. Vacuum infusing looks like the best approach.

hey what's up everybody welcome back to another episode of beast for build this episode is gonna be a little bit different than normal some kind of crazy stuff went down I went out on a limb here we're still working on the LS powered Huracan but I've got what I believe is a bit of a game changer I've spent a lot of money I've shipped stuff around the world I've got a giant box here and I can't wait to tell you all about it stay tuned before we get down to work on it take a second out to thank our sponsor today's episode is sponsored by armor-all now last month we were talking about our morels awesome line of air fresheners but today we're talking about their original protectant the original protectant wipes and sprays are great for cleaning away dust and dirt and debris it helps prevent cracking and fading or discoloration and premature aging on your interior it's really good at enhancing your vehicle's deep dark rich colors and it adds a nice shine to it as well and it will help renew and revitalize your vehicle's vinyls and rubbers and plastics just check out that before and after on the Huracan it's it speaks for itself guys cleaning the inside of your vehicle is just as important as cleaning the outside but more importantly you have to sit inside the thing so why not take really good care of it Armour all's original protectants are here for us to make sure we can keep our car clean and looking nice and keeping our parts nice and revitalize and in good condition so they're not gonna fade and crack and break on us and look bad so guys hit the link in the description below its gonna shoot you over to our Miraz website where you can check out their full line of products that they have available including their original protectants I cannot recommend it enough huge thanks to armor off response in this episode and keeping the inside of my car clean and giving me a reason to make I'll clean my car now let's get down to work all right guys story time so let me catch you up on what I'm gonna call kind of our giant polish box that's supposed to totally save us on this build so as of right about right now we have about 90 days left on the build we've fallen a bit behind so I remembered a long time ago I saw an Instagram post for a Lamborghini Huracan Super Trofeo body for sale Carbon fire essentially a carbon fiber body for the Lamborghini now we know we wanted one of these but I was like well we wouldn't want to buy one because we want to build our oan and the price was a lot of money it was about 18,000 euro so it didn't really seem like a very good deal I knew that we could build parts for a little bit cheaper and I figured so I just brushed it aside fast forward a couple months later we're deep into the build we're starting to run out of time and that things starting to sound a lot better but the price is still too high so I get in contact with this guy that's supposed to be selling me these parts and the deal just starts to like smell really scammy really fast he wants me he very willingly just goes way down in price all of a sudden but then he just wants me to send him a bunch of money you know overseas and and things just start to not add up the first story I hear is the guy kind of has the parts the second story I hear is the guy's kind of selling the parts for somebody else so I say okay I want to take a look at the parts well first story I hear is the parts are in Germany so I get a viewer one of you guys it was nice enough to go look at the parts of Germany and then he lets me know open up the parts aren't in Germany they're in Poland then I actually did get a viewer his name was me Louis so thanks to me Louis to go to this place in Poland where the parts are and this is where the story starts to get a little bit better thankfully so there is a place that's unrelated to this guy at all that seems really fishy that is selling the parts they barely even know this guy and they don't know why he's part of the picture so we kind of cut this guy out after googling his reputation as being a career scam artist is the only way I could put it that's why I'm not mentioning his name like this guy was just terrible reputation online had scammed many many many people and I would never wanted to do business with him much support anybody that acted like that anyways so we completely cut him out because nobody even knew who he was right and I started dealing directly with the guys in Poland that owned these parts I'm condensing this story down really fast because it's kind of a long story but it was kind of weird right so we talked with one guy we find out about the parts we find the original owners of the parts now we start talking with them they got a great shop they have a great reputation the area they've been solidified in like the Polish car racing automotive community for many many years so they seem like a very reputable source and I finally had to well you know since we had a viewer go out there and physically verify that the parts were there I was like okay you know it's still a small risk to send the money across the country but we did it so I sent them 12,000 euro and they sent me back a box and we have a box that looks like it's big enough that it could have Lamborghini parts in it and it's here at the shop right now so what we're gonna do right now guys is we're gonna get that box we're gonna pull it into the shop we're gonna verify that it actually has parts in it and then we're gonna start learning more about those parts and what it means for this build and where it's going to get us because it could be a huge game-changer there's a lot to learn about the Super Trofeo body this is not the Super Trofeo Evo it's a Super Trofeo first gen which is a wider stance it's a wide body kit for the car they use them for all their GT racing cars so it's super lightweight it's mostly carbon fiber from what I've heard but we may have some issues there and it's wide and it's awesome and let's let's just go get it let's unbox it let's figure out what we got and we'll just see where we go from there and we'll make some decisions by the end of this episode you guys will know what the heck we're doing and so will I I can't wait to learn oh my god I can finally breathe a big sigh of relief knowing I did not get scammed parts it well it looks like all the parts are here but definitely most of them are here so this is fantastic we're gonna go ahead and get them out take a look [Music] [Applause] this is super cool you guys we we got a whole car here pretty much a lot this stuff is really crazy this stuff is really used my first impressions are you know I should have expected this but sometimes you don't expect it till it's in your shop and it's in your hands so these are really used racing parts but man am i excited by this so some things are not what we thought these are made out of plastic and those rear quarters are made out of plastic they're not made out of carbon fiber which is which is pretty interesting everything is pretty pretty well used so take a look at like this is carbon fiber with like a black they used like a black resin or whatever it might be like carbon fiber reinforced plastic but I do know for sure by looking at the bottom it's carbon fiber but you can see the amount of pitting and the amount of wear and tear that these things have on them you know we're not gonna be running these bare and raw so that was the original plan was this thing the color would be natural carbon fiber so we're gonna have to change up that gameplan a little bit a couple things though that I'm really excited about first of all is this car this build when we envisioned this and when I was talking with Keisel about designing and stuff I said you know this is supposed to be like a cyber rat rod like this is supposed to be kind of a cyberpunk raw like I wanted it to look like a kid found maybe a Huracan shell in a junkyard in the year 2050 or 2075 or whatever and slapped together a bunch of parts to make a badass race car that was kind of my envision like or my vision for this car we started to get down this direction of everything being really clean and everything being really carbon fiber and and all that stuff and I kind of started to lose the direction that I was really hoping for to be able to just do crazy stuff to this I just think you know Lamborghinis or Lamborghinis right and then after you do the engine swap that we've done you should continue like with the Lamborghini insanity just like lasers and rockets and stuff like that if I could I would anyways the other thing that's got me really really excited about this is that box with all the parts in it and all the packaging and stuff weigh 250 pounds Oscar and I could grab every single one of these body parts right now and just start running down the street full speed like they don't weigh anything they are super super lightweight you can just one hand this bumper and walk around with it everything's insanely lightweight which has got me really excited because the car is already very very lightweight with the the you know everything that we've trimmed down on it and the lighter engine and everything so that's also got me really excited from a performance standpoint I'm really jazzed on that too so I'm very very happy this is a shove in a different direction for sure and we're gonna try and work with it but I'm super stoked on it so I know Oskar he wants to mock everything up he already got started on the bumper I was like hang on time lapses so we're gonna throw a bunch of stuff together on the car right now and try and like kind of mock it all up and make it look like a car I wish we had a door for over here maybe we could throw the door on the other side maybe make it even look more like a car [Music] [Applause] [Music] well I gotta say guys I'm really really happy with my purchase this is this is awesome so we've been going through carbon fiber stuff and you know it's really expensive just to make parts especially to make molds and make parts when you have to do three or four layers of carbon fiber you can't build these parts even if you had the mold out of carbon fiber for cheaper than I bought them I'm pretty positive if you did it'd be really close so this is really this is really really cool like I'm really excited about this you can see how much wider it makes it front now the rear doesn't seem quite as wide because we're not quite mounted up as well as you know it could because we just everything's just set on the car right now like if you were to wiggle the car too much stuff would go falling everywhere so you can see that there's this gap here once we close in this gap and make that all look right and lift that up a little bit more that's going to come out more and make it even wider so it definitely widens the car out you can tell by looking at the front widens it out a good bit this needs to go down here but yeah you can still see there's a it's so cool it looks so aggressive and with the way that it's all this is all you know connected with Zeus tabs and mounts as the body was loose tabs it's gonna give us the ability to really like build some nice strong structure underneath this thing too to hold it onto here it's too bad we still don't have a door we are missing the side skirts I'm talking the guys out I'm pulling to see what happened to that this is our rear hatch that we actually ordered a long time ago on eBay it's pretty busted up it's got some really some really tough spots but it's all fiberglass so it's all stuff I can repair and remember our turbos have to come out somewhere around here too so I'm not sure if this how much of this will even exist on the build it may and me you know maybe my end like right here I don't know I'll play with that a little bit more in 3d space but man you guys like the back of this it looks so cool just so aggressive and I can't wait cannot wait to start working on this pretty much every part is busted up and needs work to be done on it so it's still very beautiful build way of going about it that's why it's so cheap you can see it got hit like right here cracked through here all that is like dried up resin that was put underneath every single one of these parts when you pull it off you can tell it's been used on a race car for a long time and they've all just been reinforced with carbon fiber when they're cracked and then kind of sanded back down and put back on the track and put back into use until now they they live with me I'm really curious to see what you guys in feedback is on this you know drop me a comment with your thoughts and feelings about this like I I was really in between on the whole idea of this but once we got the price down so low and then I saw that kind of everything was all beaten up it felt like the beers were billed way of gone about it like you know we needed a shortcut we needed a way to skip ahead because we were running out of time I promised you guys that we'd have a carbon-fiber body car and we're like you know half carbon-fiber half plastic at this point but I think if we got the rest all done in carbon we'd still hit our goal and you know there's no rules in the rulebook that says like you have to build every body panel on your car yourself you know most people buy the body for the car or take it off of another card which is exactly what we did so I feel like it's still the very beast for build way to go about it I feel like it was like a smart economical way to do it to being 13,000 euro I mean if you just looked at these real free parts that's how much they cost if you buy I'm used so it's a pretty good deal it's a very very good deal and so I just think it was kind of a smart way to go about it but also you guys have to keep in mind too that when we commit to going to SEMA we have brands like the Motul whose booth we're gonna be in and all of our sponsors as well you know we're telling them hey put put some faith in us and we're gonna build a badass car we're gonna bring it in we're gonna represent your company and especially for our partner like multo when we're saying we're gonna be in your booth they you know they make a commitment to us to hold that spot for us and we make a commitment to them to build them something that fat ass and show up and show off in good form and represent the company well and I don't take that very lightly so if it comes down to just spending thirteen thousand euro to make sure that we have enough body panels to make sure that we have a car that looks like a car when we show up it's definitely something I'm gonna do because they have a big investment at SEMA and they put a lot of faith in us to do what we do so we got to make sure to deliver so this is like now I can breathe a little bit like we should we have a body now we could spend some more time to get really creative and also do a lot of the fun fine-tuning stuff on the car to make sure it's a really really good working car we don't have to take any shortcuts weird transition since since that last clip actually a week has gone by and and several things have changed not not a lot on the car Oscar didn't just build the whole thing while I was gone I I went on a quick vacation and when we're when I was off I was working with Kaiser Salim on finalizing the design so now the design is all like published and we know exactly what we're trying to build and the fact that we have some of the stuff built on the car already it's kind of a bit of a game changer so let's kind of go through it so the front end is actually pretty close the hood has these awesome vents in it now rather than just kind of be in a more plain hood which is great the front end is wide bodied already which is great as well we have the vents and the fenders but we don't have is kind of that like wrap piece that goes down it doesn't change much because that wrap piece I'll show you right here that's meant to be used to wide-body the car out so the only thing that's different is basically our front bumper doesn't dive in right here to have that like extreme thing and then we can do all the other arrow stuff in the front so the front is kind of as it is now we did a little bit more research and found out that the back is actually side skirts are and I'll tell you about those in a second the back is actually not wide bodied on this car so a Super Trofeo as far as we know a Huracan super trail is not a wide-body in the rear they just do it in the front so that is where we need to build the piece that Keisel has designed so we've we've decided to if you didn't tell by my language they're not build anything special on the front and other than all the Aero stuff to make it look cool but we're gonna use the wide-body fender flares that came with a kit in the back here not nearly wide enough so we're gonna come out three more inches and we're gonna build the piece that Keisel has designed and then from there on out everything else will be similar to this design because the back bumper is the same back bumper and everything else so everything else will be the same as we designed a step forward just not gonna build the front over fender flares because we already have that I talked with the guys in Poland and mentioned that we did not get the side skirts so they mailed us out a set of side skirts and secondary vents so this is pretty cool these are very unique to the Super Trofeo you have a vent here an event here in the side skirt and obviously these side skirts go up here so now we have like a full full-on kit I did some weighing and you guys wouldn't believe this every single body panel here that you see that's like got the vinyl wrap on it you could hold it all and if you could really big arms you can hold it all in two arms and it weighs about a hundred pounds the entire body of this car weighs roughly a hundred pounds so I'm now obsessed with lightness on this build and I am cest with keeping it as light as we possibly can which I don't know you may see more things happen in different ways in the future we will definitely we were already planning on building everything out of aluminum but everything will continue to be built out of aluminum for lightness so we spend a lot of time thinking about the final kind of look of the exterior the cosmetics of this now we had a couple options that came to mind one was make everything look raw like so this is the raw plastic underneath the problems is there's a lot of cracks and different you know gouges and old repair work on all these panels because they've been used on race cars their whole life so that probably isn't a good one we could try and wrap and reinforce everything in carbon fiber so take a sheet of carbon fiber and put it over everything each piece one by one and I'm going to show you the downside on that one and the other one would be to simply just clean them all up and then vinyl wrap them and whatever color we want now everybody really seemed to comment and like and love the look of the white the Huracan in white so that's kind of the direction that we're leaning but I just wanted to open this up for comments in the comments section below now everything would still be built out of carbon fiber the game plan is to build a one-piece roof carbon fiber which would be cool to leave expose no matter what we do even if the body's white I always like to have a roof being offset color so that might be raw carbon fiber but then for instance our door panels those would just be wrapped carbon fiber and everything else would just get a get a nice wrap now we did do a little test so here's a little test of a fender with one layer of carbon and only one layer of resin so it looks very rough right now because normally you're gonna do a lot of finishing work on this you would sand lay more resin sand lay more resin and continue on what we were really testing is this railing right here we were testing the ability to tuck the carbon fiber in keep it tucked in and then add you know add our resin and resin this too so upside is without adding a lot of weight would you know I would has maybe say okay you might be doubling the weight of the panel which is already basically nothing we added a lot of strength so this thing is super super strong you don't have to worry about it now the downside is though is that you can see how it's got this rough texture to it looks like scales it's because we don't have enough resin on it yes we have to continue to add resin and then sand and then eventually clear coat that's how you get the nice shininess like here you kind of have enough resin anyways moving on the problem with doing that is the amount of build up so we build up or all along the edges every single edge is gonna be built out more like 3 or 4 millimeters thick when it has enough resin on it every part every everything so we're gonna be adding weight we're also going to be adding dimensions in every dimension to all the parts which is going to get really annoying really fast because these all mount up to this car perfectly right now so it's just a thought but let me know in the comments below what you guys think I'm very much leaning towards white for time and just simplicity so we can just repair all of these panels get them all wrapped and then boom we got a body and we could focus on other things that I think are more important you know my goal was to build a carbon-fibre bodied car and you know we have that it's got all the lightweight it's got all the good stuff we're just missing the look which I really wanted to look but it's like at what cost really should we spend an entire month just cosmetically wrapping everything in carbon fiber and then having to rebuild all the body mounts or well we have to build all the body mounts or stuff anyways but you guys get what I mean alright guys so that's a wrap we got a body now we got to mount it all to the car and you know continue building the whole race car we need turbos and stuff so that's what's gonna happen in the next episode I think we're gonna focus on we're gonna be doing a lot more multitasking people are gonna be working in all sorts of different directions a lot of bodywork and fabrication work going on on the same episode it's coming up because we got all the hands on so but one of the things that we want to focus on for sure is getting the everything mounted in the back of the car that way we can actually mount the car know where it's gonna live and then we could start working on modifications and building our rear over fender flares so that's the game plan please join us for the next one subscribe if you haven't already and if you want to support the channel head over to beast for build calm and pick up some merch thank you guys all for supporting all the proceeds go to building these ridiculously expensive cars which we love doing so thank you for that and I'll see you on the next one peace [Music]
