I Bought A Destroyed 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 For Cheap!

what is up guys welcome back to the channel welcome back to another video in today's video we're not gonna be focusing on our 1966 Ford Mustang resto mod but we do have a new build let's go check it out so here it is it's a 2018 Dodge Ram 2500 with a turbo diesel 6.7 liter engine we got this thing off the auction I'm actually gonna tell you guys the price right now because it is pretty cheap we picked this thing up for $11,000 so if you're wondering it is really cheap but it is kind of destroyed let's go ahead and look at some of the damage up front we have a fender that's destroyed the bumpers a little destroyed too and we do have some suspension damage under here let's go check out what we have under here so under here we obviously have this I'm guessing this the drag link is broken off right here and our steering box is broken too I'm guessing the whole thing just broke right off of here but everything else looks pretty good there's no other damage over there and it doesn't really look like the frame rails our bet that bit bumper kind of just bent over so the frame rails look pretty good right now just from the first look and we do have a spindle on the axle that is actually cracked in half you can see that right there so I'm pretty sure all we have to do is just replace that maybe replaced the actual shaft inside not too sure yet we'll figure that out in a minute once we start taking everything apart now let's just keep moving along so we do have some for damage right here I'm guessing it hit a tree or something because there is some there was some pieces of a tree stuck in the actual bed over here but we do have a broken door right here I got science why probably when he hit the tree Oh seems like he hit the tree in the front or it hit something and then he hit a tree in the back but we still don't know yet and this truck was actually a stolen so it's a theft recovery and then we have but most of the damage is back here as you can see this entire caps section right here is just absolutely destroyed it doesn't look like it pushed any of the frame and because it didn't even bust the window or it didn't buckle the roof let's pull this off and get a little bit of a better look at what's going see that store is completely toasted we have to get two new doors for this side right here and now let's keep moving through the back the bed is obviously crunch don't have to get a whole new buttock crunched everything all up through here and there's a bunch of junk in the back of Gus I'm kind of stopped the radiator in here I don't know what it's from but I guess they stole that too but let's go ahead and check out what we have underneath oh I actually forgot to show you guys the rims these are some hostile Fords let's see what they are there are 40 by 15 you got 24 or some pretty big rims on this truck I mean I'm not a big fan of the chrome but it's kind of growing on me I kind of don't like it but I kind of do so we might keep that I'm not too sure and then we have some Toyo open countries I think yeah that's what they are I have some pretty decent tread but this rim is unfortunately bent right here we kind of tried hammering it out so we can just hold some air in there but it's not holding air so we'll probably definitely have to get some new rims or just get one new rim now let's do what we have going on in the back the tailgate has a little bit of damage right here nothing too major that's pretty easy fix and we will need a new rear bumper because it's kind of crunched all up through here right there and right there nice check out what's going on with this rear axle because the truck is kind of sitting upside it's let's go under here see what's going on and check that out we have an axle that's just snapped right in half it just broke it right there so I'm guessing when I hit that tree it just broke everything it broke one control arm over there and I think the bottom one ripped out of the axle but the lift kit actually looks pretty good we don't really have anything broken it did shear off one of the books right there but I think we can just get a new bolt but everything else is pretty good quality this is a BDS 8-inch lift which I'm surprised everything how about feels good we did do a little bit of a look around the lift make sure everything is nice and good so let's go ahead and check out what's going on inside the truck so the driver side on this truck is actually a pretty good condition we do have one dent right here but we are gonna be replacing the whole bed so that's good all the suspension on the driver side is good on we got the BDS lift kit we do have some factory shocks I'm not sure why he didn't go through cooler shocks to her I'm guessing the stock ones and we also have the upgraded control arms in the front although the passenger side is a little bit bent you can see under there it's like a banana let's go ahead and hop in this thing and see what's up with side so this is the big horn package I'm guessing it's the higher a big horn because it does have all the leather here I mean it has the leather seats let's go ahead and pop inside here it does have like the leather seats and all the goodies as power folding mirrors which is pretty cool and then inside here we do have the navigation system see if we can get it to turn on and it turns right on it does have 70,000 miles but we did get this truck for only $11,000 which is pretty cool so we do have one blown airbag right here we have one roof air backbone and the dash airbag phone and it's pretty weird the passenger side seat belt or the seat belt actually blew but the seat didn't go put on the driver's side it actually did which kind of sucks but it's no problem these seats are actually pretty easy to repair it's pretty cool it's the leather on the sides and we have the actual center console right here that's exactly what I was looking for in a truck because I do like having a nice center console some of them don't really have that and this truck is kind of loaded we have all the heat we have the seat warmers the steering wheel exhaust break a bunch of cool stuff on here that's what I was really looking for I don't really want a base model because I've had one of those before and I just did not like it at all let's try starting this thing up check that out starts right up runs pretty good then we do have the sliding rear window in the back sliding window does not work but it runs pretty good sounds good doesn't sound like there's anything wrong with it go ahead and shut it off and we do have a bunch of other stuff in here we have a bunch of just see some some hair treatment if anybody wants to get their hair done check that out yeah there's a bunch of junk in here cuz this truck was stolen we have a bunch of shirts or something in here oh look what we got back here yep that might have been why they erected well let's go ahead and see what we're about to do on it so now that we have all the damage assessed on the trevor girl go ahead and start repairing it we did pick up some parts and we've had this truck for quite some time if you guys follow me on instagram at vtune you'll know that we bought this truck around a month ago but we kind of got busy on the Mustang project and now it's time to hop on it and get this thing done we do have the rear axle already it's actually right here a good friend of mine Condor built actually hooked me up with it he also has a YouTube channel that's some pretty cool stuff so go ahead and check him out if you want to and we have this rear axle right here we're gonna go ahead and start putting it on the truck and once you're sure how to get these lug nuts off those that's the only weird thing about it I guess you need a may either make a special socket or a buy one so we're gonna go ahead and try to make one maybe cut two in half and weld them together so it's gonna do that and Jack this truck up in the air and start removing this Rex [Music] so we got the truck jacked up and went ahead and put some blocks in her and now we're gonna get the wheels off we did have to manufacture this special tool right here check out that awesome weld and now it just slides over the top and it's just gonna scroll the wheels so it's going to get this side up and get the other side off [Music] so we have both wheels off the truck now we're gonna go ahead and start taking off this rear axle the first thing we're gonna do is remove the emergency brake lines and then probably go ahead and remove the ABS lines and the brake lines they actually go to the caliper and then we'll be able to unscrew these control arms and slide this thing out and get the new one on [Music] so we're got everything disconnected off the axle and just check out the carnage right there that axle took a straight whacking broke it right down the center and we've already taken out one half of the axle here it is right here check know how bad it was and we did have to weld it to get it off the truck because it was all broken off right there and we tried welding it right there and we drove halfway off the truck and it kind of snapped but we do have most of the axle off and we will have to replace these brackets are these are for the Sharks it's actually a relocation because the stock shocks as you can see on the factory axle they sit right here but the relocation moves it over a couple inches and then that gives us the whole eight inch lift of the BDS and then we do have a broken control arm right here which we will have to replace and we gladly have all of those so let's go ahead and get this axle often and we'll swap everything on to the new axle [Music] so we got the axle out underneath the truck and we did notice that the track bar mount is a little bit bent and the track bar is bent but I think we can get it back on there just for now just so you can get the truck out of this position so we can get it moving and I want to get all the control arms nice and bolt it up on there so now let's go ahead and replace all this stuff onto the new donor accident [Music] so we got everything onto the new axle over here we got these little shock perches and the track bar we will have to get a new track bar and the track bar mount something is a little bit bent but it will help us get the truck inside so I can get out it's about to start raining over here but here's the old axle we also have to get some me both because the tards who installed the lift last I just a threaded a bolt right there and it just did not work out but now it's time to go ahead and slide this rear axle underneath there so we got most of the axle on we got the brake lines routed we stopped to put a couple bolts on but it is better start raining so we might go ahead and just throw the wheels on and try to drive this thing inside I'm not sure if we'll be able to but we got mostly everything on we got the track bar on I'm still not sure if it's bad or if it's supposed to be a little bit like out of an angle like that but I'm not sure yet so we'll have to do some more research on that we got all the shocks and everything in on that side now let's go ahead and get the wheels on and probably try to get this thing inside maybe we can drive it in and then start turning it down [Music] so we got this side on everything went on smoothly and now we have to put on this other side tower but it is kind of bent or the rims bent actually tires not popped so we're actually gonna roll it inside and actually try to straighten this out hopefully you can do it so let's go ahead and roll it inside and get it straight so we got the rim inside we're actually using this port of power right here this hydraulic ram and pieces of metal we're gonna try straightening this thing and we also got some heat so let's go ahead and straighten it out [Music] [Music] so we got the rim nice and straightened out just a little bit just so it holds air I'm not sure I might get somebody a professional or straightener or just replace the whole room because I don't really trust it you can see right here or over here it was like kind of creasing so I don't really want to trust that driving on road trips and stuff so let's go ahead and get this syringe back on the truck so we went ahead and put that wheel one and lowered it down and it runs pretty good so now we're gonna go ahead and try to drive it inside probably start taking apart all these parts right here when you get to bed off of it the doors and probably the fenders see if there's anything else damaged if when you order anything else so let's get this thing inside we've got the truck inside it did start raining pretty bad at allit there you know it's pretty hard getting this thing inside because if you see here is the towel rod or the drag link it's kind of broken so if I have to just move the rules in and out but we didn't get it in sight now the first thing I do is go ahead and take this front suspension off I want to see what's damaged underneath there so go ahead and get this thing on [Music] so we got the front wheel off now we have a better look at what's going on down here I notice that there's basically just two cracks on this knuckle right here and it's pretty easy to replace it's just two bolts one up here and one down there and we also will need a new caliper because as you can see all these scrape marks right here that is from the caliper escaping against this I guess they got bent when it hit something and we also did find a piece of the tree that this thing here it looks like some seed or something but that's that and we'll also have two control arms bent down here and this is a pretty impressive lift because all I did was just bend right here nothing else broke over here all the brackets are all in the same exact spot you don't see nothing I bored out or anything so that's pretty cool back here now what we're gonna do is go ahead and start tearing down the truck when you get this fender off and get this front bumper off [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] so we just got the grill off when we did notice a little bit of damage right here it's actually really minor there's a slight little crack right there so I think we will be able to fix that pretty easy because this is an expensive grill these are around like eight hundred nine hundred dollars for an OEM them so got pretty lucky on that so let's go ahead and seen you taking this thing apart [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] sooo got everything off the prom' got the fender off the fender liner everything looks really good under here we've got super lucky this entire apron is nice and straight there's a tiny little dent right here which we can just pull out real lightly but the apron looks good there's no creases about here and we also got lucky back here is this is the only thing that's damaged on the body appear so that's gonna be simply some flowers and some body hammers straighten that out now what we're gonna do is go ahead and remove this front bumper [Music] let's dip the front bumper off and we have some more good news this is the only damaged piece right here I'm so glad everything in the front is basically om all the cooling all the radiator still has a/c in there which is awesome now we're gonna move on to the inside of the truck we're actually gonna start taking off these doors because they are both damaged we'll probably do some cleanup because it is super dirty you know you can't work on a dirty truck so let's go ahead and get these doors off and we'll fight clean out the inside of the truck so we got the front door off and we've done a little bit of inspecting and I don't see any damage usually you'll see like a little bit of the hinge pushed in if it did go in but it looks pretty good now we gotta somehow get this rear door open because the door handle is busted off we can't really open it from the inside too little my help it cut this out a little bit and try to get this thing off so let's go ahead and do that [Music] we got the rear door off we did have to cut it open to get it off because the inside door lock was broken so we went ahead and did that and we didn't notice so a little bit of damage right here on this pillar if you guys remember I was talking about it in the front but here it is right here it's kind of just slightly pushed in but the bottom looks good so he probably walked to put it on the frame machine to pull that out and then back here it looks pretty good well it's not really for you guys is probably looks horrible but for me it does look pretty good we don't have much of buckling or much creases in here doesn't really look like it pushed it in too much so that's pretty good sign now what we're gonna do is go ahead and clean this entire truck out there here's really filthy we can't be working on a brand new truck that looks like this we have some sour patch or some sour dummies oh it's brand new check that out a little snack well it's not to keep us full now let's go ahead and clean this thing up [Music] [Applause] [Music] alright guys so
