I BOUGHT A CLOCKED FIESTA ST!

in focus in frame job done now i'm getting quite good at this you know buying cars with problems now behind me here i've got this uh ford fiesta st quite a nice car i was going to title this video the banger of the week but this car is far too good to be called the bang of the week but there is a bit of a story behind this car which i've probably told you in the fight from now on title uh but my main reason for doing this car doing this video is one i suppose because it's a really cool car two because it's an interesting subject but three more importantly is to teach some of you a lot a lesson all right let's get on with the video [Music] here we go then 2013 ford fiesta st i think 2013 was like the earliest of years that these cars come out they made them right up until 2000 2018 so this is a pre-facelift car uh but from factory they were 180 brake horsepower but this car has had a lot of mods or supposedly had a lot of mods uh again i don't have paperwork for any of the mods but it's a stage free tuned car uh we'll find out how quick it is we're going out for driving in a sec and it's apparently apparently running at 310 brake horsepower but like i say i have no paperwork and i say to you a lot a lot in videos that so many people come to me to sell their cars and they're like oh it's been true just had all this and that and all this stuff done to it but i want no paperwork for it it's hard for me to sell a car and say to someone i promise you've had all this stuff done to it but i have no history or no backing for the work that's been done so this car straight away i'm like yeah it's been tuned but it's got no paperwork to back the tune in so it really lets it down and also it doesn't have a dyno so i can't even stand here and say this car is definitely 300 plus brake horsepower because i have no dyno right so that's a massive letdown as well now as you look around this car it's a really really nice thing really tidy um it's definitely been loved by one of its previous owners got toyo proxy tyres on the rear and then later on in life someone has put nankangs on it nankang's ain't terrible tires but the toyo proxies whoever put them on was clearly a person that loved their cars you come around again like it's stunned in this car absolutely it is mint and the key subject for this car is not just the paperwork but the second thing which again you've seen in the title this car has got a mileage discrepancy which would suggest that it's been collapsed at some point in his life right so i'm walking around it talking about the condition like it's immaculate uh it's done 17 hundred miles i think on the odometer uh and the condition of the body would reflect that and as i'm walking around you can see it's really really nice and you see down here we've got scorpion exhaust as well which is really nice now as we hop on hopping on the inside uh there you go there's the mileage up there 17 845 miles for a 13 plate car that is exceptional mileage right but then when you look up closer the steering wheel has been re-trimmed yeah nothing wrong with the steering being re-trimmed you'd sort of think well once what the original steering will look like but forget about that you can't just look at that when you come over to the gear knob see the wear on the gear knob it's not too great on the gear knob there a little bit worn on the handbrake there nothing too bad again but it is showing signs of a bit more wear than you'd expect from a car with 17 000 miles now look here on the seat we've got a little tear that could just be a little accidental tear but there's a few things on this car i'm thinking hold on a minute it's a little bit warm not saying it's done sky high mileage but it is definitely a bit worn now even up here on the top of the steering column just a few little marks there it just it's not what you'd expect to see on a car with 17 000 miles the bolster is pretty good to be fair but i don't know a little tiny bit worn which would again probably make you question the mileage if you were looking for a low mileage gem let's just flip that round right so in the car trade and this is not just available to the cartridge this is available to everyone we use either hpi or experian to run history checks on our cars right i currently use hpi but i am uh migrating over to experian at some points quite soon uh not say that either or better or worse they both offer the same sort of functionality and information but it is so valuable now the guy that i bought this car off um he says that someone pulled the wool over his eyes when he bought it i don't know how true that is because he actually attempted to pull the wool over our eyes when he sold it to us and said yes a low mileage car uh but it has no service history he then just magically uh showed up with a service book which i'll show you right now before we get on to the hpi check his service book is a yes it's like the bloody chuckle brothers have done this service book i'll tell you look so here is the ford service book all right and there is a bit of paperwork in the glove box there as well just loads of little bits nothing major but a few little bits to say look had some maintenance had a bit of love but this here is the actual service book for the car which the guy just magically uh it just appeared when we were talking about doing it there we go by the way that's actually got a service because i'll show it to you now the reason why held back i would assume is because it's a ford specialist service stamp yeah uh with no signature no date and no mileage on on that stamp there it doesn't have it on that stamp either and then we open the page that was done a certain mileage andy smith it's a very generic name to use andy smith um and andy smith looks like he's the same guy that's done every single one of these stamps uh but just use a different set see here guys the things are coming to us by the way you sold your two series yeah done well done man oh really okay yeah see you tomorrow thanks man sorry i didn't have no time for you man just appreciate it man see you guys just buying a really nice car for that guy there might do a video on it we'll see bmw 2 series but continuing on from that yeah the service book good old andy smith is continued uh 4 900 miles 5 900 miles 7 500 miles there and then 9 000 being the most recent one by the same ford specialist andy although your name's probably not andy uh whoever you are nice try mate but that definitely ain't a correct service book now uh again that's just alarm bells yeah it's just a little concerned bit of wear on the gear knob a bit of a dodgy uh service but could still be genuine mileage right could be that way but it could be so then we hop over to our history checks that's what we're going to call them we're going to call them a history check but for the purpose of of my life i'm currently using hpi uh but like i say experian are going to be my new mates at some point soon so if we do a screen recording i've just done a hvr check on this car and oh something else you can check without paying for one of these checks is mot history yeah anyone that's available to anyone we can all go online check the mot history of any car on the road and it will show you if the mileages are consistent throughout all of the mots now in this case the mileage is consistent throughout all the mots which again would reassure you that the mileage is okay yeah the guy that sold us his car probably would have done that before well it still seems all right but he didn't do one of these checks right i don't know what these costs uh to the general public no idea check it out online like i said there is there is multiple companies that offer these um i'm not plugging away anywhere any particular companies uh i'm just doing this purely as a bit of good advice right because this is a very common thing at the top there we've got nmr check right that stands for national mileage register now the the information from the national register is provided by main dealers service receipts customers like you and i give hpi and experian and stuff information about certain vehicles with their mileages and stuff like that the evla also provided information but somewhere somewhat someone somewhere along the line with this car has uh noted that this car has a higher mileage than the mileage given on an mot cipher as simple as that we don't know what the details are i have raised an investigation with hpi uh so if i do find out any information i'll let you know at some point in this video but for now i'm like right i'm about to buy this car and it has a mileage discrepancy no idea what's happened no idea how but that marker is on this car and it does affect the value of this car i now cannot make an offer on this car based on it having 17 what's the match again 17 800 miles i have to take a view on it myself and value that co the car on roughly what i think the mileage is now i think the mileage is in the region of about sixty thousand i think that's a fair fair guess average money for a car this year would be about ninety thousand i think ninety to a hundred thousand i don't think it's done as much as that but the price that i buy it for must reflect uh the the mileage drop i assume it is and secondly when i sell this car i have to declare that it has a mileage discrepancy on the history which is fine you know someone will buy this car someone will love it it's a great car but that person deserves to get a discount because it's got a modest discrepancy and any single person selling a car with anything on the hp i should declare it simple as that and if it is true that the fellow that i bought this car off um was sold this car without this discrepancy being declared then that is that is sad man that's that's really not good and i do see this a lot all right so whilst we're on the hbo i may as well continue down and uh show you what else he's got going for it uh so if we click into spec check it uh 17 790 pound this car was new it's got optional equipment of 725 quid and the only option on this car is the molten orange metallic paint all right quite a nice option very nice looking color it basically just looks like faded red but it is uh yeah suits the car really nicely and it has also got the uh recaro to match which again look amazing yeah moving on from that we've got cat black book live again cap is a valuation system that the majority of the car trade use this just gives you an assumed mileage as in uh probably the average for the age of the car eighty thousand miles and based on having eighty thousand miles of the retail valuation for this car would be seven thousand and ninety five pound but that is just no one knows what the mileage is in this car i'm you never know one of the previous owners might step forward and see this video and say calvin i had that car and it was my mate that clocked it or this is why it's been showing a discrepancy i might be able to get it cleared it might be completely um nothing it might be nothing who knows but we'll soon find out all right so what we'll do now is um yeah we'll go for a little drive in the clocked fiesta st see what it drives like right uh before we get off uh i need to start the engine of course but before i can start the engine i need to do the ghost mobilizer code so let me just do that now quickly yeah that's it yeah it sounds good to it let's give it a little riff [Music] does sound pretty good to be fair let me just quickly go for the list of mods that it supposedly got so stage three approximately 310 brake horsepower an x47r turbo puma stage free map wagner comp intercooler quick spool manifold scorpion turbo back exhaust ram air induction crossover pipe auto solution intake 11 psi actuator boost gauge in heater yeah that's definitely there uh gfb diverter mitsumoto boost pipes braided brake lines uh ebc racing coilovers ibac springs rear spacers uh ns2r front semi splits they're obviously the the nang hangs i mentioned earlier uh crossback alloys and uh alcantara steering wheel so pretty good mods yeah now if we look at the value of this car which again we can't put an idea of value on it but if you look at uh fiesta st i'm looking at sc2s that's what this is by the way those that don't know up to a hundred thousand miles on auto trader the cheapest one currently is eight and a half grand now um that's how i have to value this car yeah it's as simple as that i have to value this this car in that region all right so that gives you a rough idea what the value is and by the way going back to mods we'll soon find out uh how modified it is or what power it's running roughly when we do drag times in it as well all right we'll do that at some point in the video probably quite soon because i've been talking a lot all right so let's let's hit the road sounds good pulls really well now drone has driven this car and it's a cabin that car is quick so uh i can straight away tell you that this is a very quick car very boosty look at that traction control off hold to deactivate esc looks like it's loading up there that's it would deactivate yeah this is a quick car i think of anything it's gonna be about keeping the power down to the ground but it's this car there's no way is this car this quick from factory so uh we've definitely already established that it's 100 been tuned i think that is the thing with this quite such a shame that someone's done this to this car like it could it could have been a mileage blocker at a certain point in in its life you might just have had a mileage blocker on it yeah someone might have genuinely i don't bloody know it could be anything yeah but it's a shame that it's been done to this particular car because this is actually a really nice bloody car so uh let's just quickly skip to dragon times this is sort of popping out of the back uh because this video's gone on a bit longer than i expected it would do that now yeah all right we are back on my little private roads uh so if it's in the region of 300 break we should get early 60s all right that's what we should get ready three two one no wheel's been heating that trap yeah too much fuel spin a lot of wheelspin so that first run i just done yeah i've done it five and a half seconds i thought it's gonna do low sixes it's just done five and a half seconds with loads of wheel spin that is an invalid run though so it would mean that there was a bit of a slope uh when i've done it as well but we'll go back do it again at the bottom half of the road and i think yeah we're gonna we're gonna smash that right so i've literally just done two more right the first one i've done again it was invalid it was on a bit of a slope it done that run in 5.31 seconds and then i've done a third and final run this one was verified and that done that run in 5.28 seconds yeah this is a quick car so that puts it right uh quicker than the alfa romeo juliet of veloce which was 240 brake and that had a dual clutch gearbox so gear changes would have saved it a lot of time quicker than the bmw 330d and almost as quick as the golf gti clubs but that was a 500 brake clock that's right that's not a comparable car because that did give us a lot of wheel spin but the next car up from that was the tt s which was tuned so in a nutshell this car has definitely been tuned uh and yeah it done some seriously impressive times let's get back on the road and summarize this video so the motive for me doing this video guys was to show you lot basically just do your checks do your background test it's very easy it might cost you 20 25 quid or whatever because but it's 20 or 25 quid very well spent it could save you thousands i see it all the time when people come to me to sell a car and i'll be buying it and i'll be like you know did you realize it's been in an accident like it's ks and they'll be like no that's a very common one for me and i'm like yeah did you not know when you bought it now the person i bought it off didn't tell me that knocks 20 or 30 off the value of a car you're losing money right another common one is finance people buy cars without standing in finance i'm like this car that's not actually owned by you it's owned by the finance company did you do a check when you bought it no i didn't 20 quid guys 20 quid do your bloody checks now this car here luckily i done my checks i did buy it accordingly the price i paid for this car reflected uh the fact that it's got a mileage discrepancy and the price i'll sell it for will also reflect the fact that it hasn't a mileage discrepancy um the mods and stuff it's really difficult for me to say exactly what it's had but what i could do is take it to a reputable truna tuning company like vrs for example and say can you guys tell me exactly what this car has got on it or what you think it's got on it we could get it on the dyno and see what power is running as well i know i can see that it's definitely running a bigger power than a normal car but we could get more accurate figures by investigating further there but what i will do is uh the priority for me is find out from hpy what the actual issue is is with my discrepancy and i will let you know as soon as i find out with hbi and they've advised me that they have a record of the fiesta having 9771 miles on the 27th of june 2019 but if you look at the mot that was done just a few weeks later on that mot it shows that the car has done about 800 miles less than that which is why this car has got a mileage discrepancy in the next episode of diary of car trader i've just bought this stage 1 tune set leon cooper
