we're just going to get right into the word tonight let's pray father God I thank you and praise you for this time I salute you bless this time open up our hearts to receive your word your word Lord is manna it's bread we can use it this week it's nourishing it's practical Lord your word is also seed in our hearts it changes us it plans deep in the good soil of our hearts and transforms us Holy Spirit be our teacher this morning teach us what we need to know and prepare us for what's coming in our lives in Jesus name and everybody said and then when I was overseas just a few weeks ago in Uganda there was a driver sitting next to me that I'd never seen before and I've been going there for eight years and usually have the same driver but this was a different driver and he was on the wrong side of the car just like they usually are in Uganda and I said well who are you he said my name is no Bert now no Bert just you know took up his whole seat and then most of my seat no Bert was a large very muscular person I was like whoa he looked like Arnold Schwarzenegger of old I'm not kidding you a massive hulky he looked like me right after I workout let's just put it that way a massive hole king of a person and I said Norbert well you're my driver he said I am but I am a official security police officer here in Uganda that serves on the presidential detail so I said what are you doing with me he said I heard you were coming and I volunteered to stand by your side through your entire trip I said I praise God for you now I know my God protects me wherever I go but I was also thankful that God had assigned a nobre in my life even david carried a sling in the battle and he knew god protected him no Burt was more than a sling for me though he was like a mighty sword and whenever I got out in the middle of the jungle out into the darkness no Burt got out in front of me when there was military personnel they are holding their guns and and pulling our car over no Burt would just wave to them as we drove by because he didn't have to pull over they recognized no Burt as an official of the police and we had such great favor know Burt would get out in front of me and then open my door and allow me out he would go before me how many know that the Lord has gone before us the Lord is much more powerful than even know Burt is and he gets out in front of you I want us to say this phrase today I am Not Afraid today the Lord is going to be dealing with fear and pressing fear out of your lives and he's going to do it through this one simple promise that I'm gonna read to you right now in Deuteronomy chapter 1 and verse 30 it says the Lord your God who goes before you he himself will fight on your behalf we have to know that our Jesus has gone ahead of us into whatever it is that we face he's already been there when he got out of the boat and Peter or when he was walking on water and Peter got out of the boat we have to recognize that when he took that first step on the water Jesus was ahead of him Jesus had already walked on the water ahead of him simply calling him out to do something that Jesus had already done there was 12 disciples in that boat at least and only one saw the opportunity to stand up and walk on the water who got out of the boat and took a step of faith what is it that keeps us from taking that step I don't want to be a Christian like the other eleven I want to be a Christian like Peter who says Lord call me out and I know that I can walk on the water if it's really you Jesus I want to step out with you we follow a Jesus who goes before us shows us the impossible and then calls us to take a step of faith we don't sir in a Christianity that is designed to accept mediocrity average lack these things are the products of fear you know when I stay in the boat it's because I was afraid I saw the waves I thought well I can't walk on water maybe Jesus can but I can't do it and I stay in a position of lack Satan wants to use fear in your life to keep you stuck to keep you from stepping into something new from awakening a new dawn or a new start he wants to keep you in that tent in the wilderness here you can be safe and warm with just enough mana for today living in lack or in wilderness and so many times Christians we accept the wilderness life we stay stuck without taking that step of faith but God is calling us today to take a step of faith if you've got a place in your life that's been stuck in the wilderness let go of your fear and step out in faith you know Satan wants you to be afraid of the storm and he wants you to be afraid in the storm he wants you to be afraid of the fire and then he wants you to be afraid in the fire he wants you to be afraid of the Giants and then he wants you to be afraid when you're confronting the Giants but our God says that when I pass through the waters I am with you and when I pass through the river it will not sweep over me and when I go through the fire I will not feel the flame it's not that there isn't some water to deal with it's not that there isn't a raging river that I have to cross it's not that there is a fire that might be coming into my life it's simply that it's not gonna harm me it's not gonna bother me I won't be afraid of it and I won't be afraid when I'm in it because I know that my Lord has gone before me and he himself will fight on my behalf amen no in the Israelites were getting ready to cross the Jordan River the Bible says that the water was at flood stage it was a massive River that was impossible to cross and what separated them from lack and wilderness and to crossing over out of that lack in wilderness and into God's abundance God's overflow see some of us are being called out to take a step of faith now in our man maybe your marriage has been in the fire maybe you feel like your marriage is separated by a raging river pastor I'm afraid it's never gonna work out maybe it's your health I'm afraid the doctor gave me a bad diagnosis well guess what I'm afraid that your doctor was wrong I'm afraid that there's a chief physician that knows more I'm afraid that your marriage counselor was wrong God says that there is hope he says I will make a way when there is no way somebody say Amen and he's going before you right now the Israelites were afraid to cross over the generation before them was so afraid of the Giants that were in the promised land that they didn't even go they allowed their fear to keep them in the wilderness for forty years and so many Christians they live in their fears and stay in the lack but God is asking us to step out and just believe him well but there's Giants in that land and that waters at flood stage how will we ever cross so Jesus the Lord God gave them a plan to Joshua he said this wait for three days here as they raid on the banks of the river just wait for three days and then I want you to get the Ark of the Covenant have all the people pack up all the stuff and get ready to move and you're gonna walk to the water's edge and the Bible says this is Joshua explained it to the people he said and Joshua said here's how you shall no say no we got to know that the Living God is among us and that he will without fail our God doesn't fail he's faithful drive out before from before you from before you from before you from before you this this goes ahead of you the Canaanites the parasites the termites the gigabytes the veggie freights they're all going to be gone praise God we get rid of them veggie frights has some fries behold the Ark of the Covenant of the listen to this behold the Ark of the Covenant of the Lord of all the earth is passing over before you into the Jordan so they took the priests they took the Ark of the Covenant and they bore it up on their shoulders and they walked to the water's edge they were all packed up like we're just going to cross over it didn't really make sense in the possible because the water was at flood stage how are we possibly there's no bridge what are we gonna do how we're gonna get over to the other side but God is calling us today to cross over to the other side and this is the way that they did it they carried that Ark of the Covenant of the Lord and it was going before the people and the Bible says I want you to step into the water they had to take that first step right into the flood stage and then when they stepped in the water began to pile back sometimes we just need to take a step of faith you know God will do the impossible but he is asking you to do what's possible go ahead and put your feet in the water pack your things it's time to go when Jesus said to the crippled man get up pick up your mat and walk he was saying I can't let you leave your mat there because I don't want you to ever go back to this place I want you to pack up your things because we're going somewhere new and you'll never go back to where you used to be they put their feet in the Bible says that the water piled all the way back to a region called Adam isn't that interesting that water was flowing down to the Dead Sea it was a metaphor of what's happening today in our lives the thing that tries to separate us from our promised land that water that's flowing down from Adam that passing down of the generations down trying to pull us down to death all the things of the past trying to lead us down to the Dead Sea but did you know that you're that Ark of the Covenant Solomon said this he said will God live God's Spirit dwell in something made by human hands absolutely not God's Spirit dwells in something made by God's hands and God formed you out of the dust of the earth he formed you to be his temple that his spirit might dwell in you he formed you to be his Ark of the Covenant the Bible says in 2nd Samuel chapter 6 that the Ark of the Covenant would bear the name of the Lord did you know that you bear the name of the Lord Jesus Christ when you chose to believe in Jesus you accepted a lot more than maybe you knew at the time not only do to accept redemption forgiveness of sins and the righteousness to stand before the Lord God boldly that we have confidence to stand in front of him knowing that when we pray he hears us and if we know that he hears us that we know that we will have whatever we ask we have this kind of God living in us the same spirit that raised Christ from the dead dwelling in you you are a walking Spirit of God in you the psalmist wrote this he said the Lord goes before me he follows behind me and he's beside me you're like a God tank you can't be stopped you're just plowing into that Promised Land water and it starts piling up back and nothing's gonna stop you you see we go across through the cross that's why it was three days that they had to wait their death burial and resurrection we go across but we go through the cross and what happens as we know that our Jesus he went before us that's that cross that stands in the middle of the Jordan River and calls us to the other side he says just come right through this cross because I have cut off your past all not just your pass from your lifetime not just your pass from your father's lifetime but every pass that has been handed down from Adam until now has been cut off of you every generational curse has been cut off of you every sickness that was handed down through generations and made cut off from you you say well I'm afraid that my daddy had diabetes his daddy had diabetes maybe I'll have diabetes you don't have to have that it's cut off not just off your father not just off your father's father but off of every ancestor all the way back to Adam every broken marriage when my daddy got divorced his daddy got divorced look you don't have to have that kind of marriage because Jesus has gone before you and he's cut broken marriages off of your past you're starting off a new creation in Christ somebody say Amen give the Lord some praise right now we're going to the other side and what does God asked from us he asks from us just to take that step of faith just believe me don't let fear stop you anymore don't look at that water and see I can't because I would just say to you I know you can't but you don't have to Jesus already did he's the one who can and he's on the inside of you somebody say Amen you cannot be stopped and what sometimes when we say we're going to the other side that's when we meet the flood you could be safe and not have any flood or fire or Giants in your life but just staying in LAC sometimes when we make the announcement I'm going to the other side jesus said to his disciples hey let's go to the other side they got in a boat but the Bible says immediately a storm came as soon as we say it let's go to the other side you know what happens immediately the enemy gets scared I've got to stop somebody who's moving as long as you were standing still I wasn't afraid of you but when you started moving that meant God was on the move because God is hidden you and that scares him when I see a storm coming when I see the enemy come in like a flood I always think to myself oh oh I've scared you haven't I I'm not scared of your storm but I know that I've shaken your kingdom God's coming looking for you Jesus already went before me he fights my battles on my behalf I don't even have to fight with Satan because I know Jesus has already defeated him and placed him under his feet somebody say Amen so Jesus was sleeping in the boat he fell asleep he wasn't worried the Bible says the disciples were so afraid they woke him up he rebuked the winds in the wave but when he rebuked his disciples he rebuked their fear he didn't address that they didn't have authority to pray against the storm he addressed their fear he said why were you afraid you might think well because of the storm Jesus isn't afraid of the storm he went to sleep in the storm he was saying just curl up next to me and take a nap I've already spoken my word we're going to the other side you know saying there is no way that I'm going to die in a thunderstorm he said I'm gonna die some way i'ma die on a cross one day but I'm not gonna die in this storm it may look like a raging storm but you can rest and know that your God has already gone before you and prepared a way for victory I'm not saying don't be afraid of storms coming I'm saying don't even be afraid when you're in the storm somebody give the Lord some praise it just doesn't matter how bad the storm is when you got to that doctor diagnosis and he gave you that news just know Jesus was already there he already heard the news he already went before you and your story about the doctor and the the news you got and the doctor says you only have this much time to live your story about the bankruptcy that came into your life your story about about rheumatory arthritis that came into your life that wasn't the end of the story because my god is still the Omega in my life that was the beginning of the story you see the flood the storm it's always just the beginning of the story because it's not over till my god says it's over we sometimes say well what's done is done listen what's done isn't done until the completed works of the Cross have had its final say over what's been done in your life when Jesus says it's finished then it's done we're are victorious people we're not afraid because we know that our Savior Jesus has gone before us this church has been through a lot of different things over the years I have seen the hand of God in this church against the insurmountable odds things that should have taken this church out of the game things that should have destroyed this church and stopped us in our tracks have never even caused us to smell like fire we just keep going when I watch the hand of God I remember once my dad made the announcement to the church we were a small church then maybe 300 400 people he said we're gonna get our own building we were meeting in a storefront he said I found a building it's 55,000 square feet it's an old lumberyard we're gonna build it out into a church we're gonna buy that building that was an amazing announcement it literally was impossible what he said was going to happen we were living in a 10,000 square foot we had never had any loans we didn't have any real assets there was no way a bank would look at us my dad was laughed out of many banks when he went and said I want to buy this building get out of here you know your church doesn't have enough money you don't have any credit there's no way this is ever gonna happen the city got involved and said you're never gonna buy this building you better stay out my dad didn't accept that as the right answer he just knew that when you decide to cross to the other side that the enemy will come at you and try and stop you one day the the owner Foxworth and Galbraith called my dad it didn't they knew he'd been negotiating they said listen we're gonna lower the price to something you can afford and some of the higher-ups have decided we're gonna loan you the money to buy your own building my dad said now what's the payment gonna be and they told him he said we won't be able to afford that payment just right away they said you know what don't worry about paying us for a solid year you just go ahead and do your build-outs and move on in you can have the building somebody say hey man this was a miracle I remember my dad was working on the building I was down there filling up the cracks I think I was 16 years old I was filling up the concrete cracks with concrete so that we could carpet over the top of it and my dad came in and looked at the construction crew and he said listen I've got enough money to pay you up through today's work but the churches run out of money this is a big thing we're just trusting God and believed in God but I need to send you home or I'm afraid I won't be able to pay you tomorrow so the crew got up and left and and and I didn't leave because my dad wasn't paying me anyways what you keep working boy so I'm sitting there filling up cracks and a lady came in the in the back door of the building and she said who are you I said well I'm the pastor son I'm just filling up cracks here she said she said the pastor son what is this she I said it's gonna be a church she said I want you to know that that I was driving by and the Lord told me to stop here and give you guys some money how much money do you need I said let me take you to my dad she wrote out a check in that moment my dad was able to call the construction crew they came right back and we began to work again how I'm gonna know that God goes before us he is able to do the things we're not able to do we just step out in faith and let him do the impossible my dad had put his foot in the Jordan River and God began to move mm was the story of Shadrach Meshach and Abednego and the Bible says that the king at that time Nebuchadnezzar had made an image of gold and had demanded that the people when they heard the music would bow down to that idol but Shadrach Meshach and Abednego although they were Hebrews that were serving in government had been elevated a little bit they were governors and in helping out underneath the king some of the other men that were also governors we're really jealous of these three guys so they they went to the king and said this Shadrach Meshach and the other guy's name whatever it is they don't bow when they hear the music so the King called him forward said are you not bowing when you hear the music tell you what he said I won't play the music right now and if you don't bow him I throw you in the fiery furnace it was a fire that they had in there this was a certain death you can be executed if you don't bow and Shadrach Meshach and Abednego they said this to the king if we're thrown into the blazing furnace the God we serve is able to deliver us from it I like what they said we might go in the fire I'm alright with that God will save us and he will deliver us from your Majesty's hand but even if he does not oh I like this attitude even if we burn up you see what they did they killed fear you see how they killed it you know what even we don't get saved I don't care we still want you to know that we will not serve your gods or worship the image of gold you was set up the King was so mad he had the fire raised seven times in temperatures so if it was sitting at 400 degrees now it's 2800 degrees which happens to be the refining point temperature-wise melting point of gold we say I'm afraid I'm afraid I'm in the fire rate now pastor we're under attack have faith in God for he has gone before youth and he himself fights on your behalf there's a woman who came to me she had nodules on her throat she said Friday I found out cuz I've been having problems with my throat I went to the doctor and she said I have a multitude of nodules on my throat tomorrow Monday they're gonna check and see if it's cancerous she said but I'm not worried just let's pray those nodules would be gone tomorrow amen we prayed she just told me this last week so she came to me last Sunday so two Sundays ago she told me this last Sunday she came to me and said I want you to know that I went in on Monday and they couldn't find a single nodule on my throat god I removed them all it's not that the nodules won't come but well you know what that with the King well you know what the King was asking them to do that he's asking us to today is bow to fear that's what he wants us to bow to bow to your fear and you can stay out of the fire you see fear wants to convince you that it's been your asset that it's been your ally that it's helping you avoid the fires of this world fear comes to you and says see because I exist you are you're able to avoid fires because you let me in you're steering clear of all the fires but it's okay listen to go into the fire just know that it's okay to go into the fire don't let fear dictate to you what you're gonna do in your life he is not your ally he is the voice of the enemy it's demonic oppression that's trying to stop you in your life with your fear do not make a friend out of I am afraid instead receive the word of the Lord today that says I am not afraid because my god has gone before me and he fights on my behalf he himself fights on my behalf Wow they threw him in the fire because they wouldn't bow to fear and the Bible says that the hot the flames are so hot that the man who brought them to the fire died just throwing him in and then it says this Nebuchadnezzar leapt to his feet in amazement and asked his advisors weren't there three men that we tied up and threw into the fire they replied certainly your majesty next verse no yes he said look I see four men walking around in the fire watch this watch this unbound they had tied him hand and foot who and they went in the fire what was binding them set him free the ropes burned up you see the same fire that is trying to bind you up and trying to fear you get you afraid God will use that same fire to set you free now God didn't bring the fire but he'll turn Satan's attack around for your good the same fire that you thought that people thought that everybody thought was going to destroy you it actually warmed up the gold the treasure that's in you and began to reveal what's really the goodness of you and it burned off the dross the things see that's a refiners fire you actually got better because you went into the flame you actually got stronger when you went through the river you actually got tougher and have more resilience and your faith grew because you went through the storm somebody say Amen it says that they were unharmed go back to it unbound and unharmed and the fourth man looks like a son of the gods so in other words when Shadrach Meshach and Abednego got thrown in the fire they walked in and they went hey who's this guy it was Jesus praise God the Son of God he was already in there he's like it's cool man high-five I don't know what they're doing they're just walking around here this is cool man everything's fine they came out and there wasn't a singe on their robes they didn't even smell like smoke you may go through the fire but you will not be burned why because your Lord Jesus he is he who goes before you come on and give the Lord some praise right now God's gonna use that fire to bring out your treasure it's a pastor friend of mine lives in California and he was right in the middle of where these fires worst name is pastor Mellie Ayers his wife Desiree Ayers great people in fact my mom was out there during the fires to preach at there at a women's conference so she was staying at their house and this was just last month and they knocked on the door the fires were getting too close they said we have to evacuate this home my mom went to go back inside to get her clothes in her suitcase and they said no no you have to leave right now she couldn't even go back and get her stuff my mom called me up on the phone I just got evacuate I got to sleep at the church tonight the fire got to the house with a pastor he walked around his house before he left on the outside pastor Mellie Aires and my mom and the wife to Desiree but the pastor walked around and he pled the blood of Jesus on his property now I want you to see this photo show this photo of him praying now show the photo not the video yet look at that you see the fire and the wall of smoke behind him that's his property that's how close the fire was and that's him walking and pleading the blood over his property line now show this video this is the day after the fire into our grass line and burned it to a crisp you see all that all that area was filled with rosemary and different plants from the fence all the way up here and we had to evacuate look at this it didn't it stopped at the property line go ahead and stop the video look at that the fire got to his property line and then stopped and it brought you saw the video you can't make that stuff up wouldn't give glory to God right now it don't matter that the fires coming that don't matter that you're in the fire you will not be singed and then I got that off Facebook you can find it as well Mel errors a ye RS is is the name Psalms chapter 66 the psalmist wrote this we went through the fire and the flood but you brought us to a place of great abundance there's abundance on the other side of the fire and the flood the enemies trying to stop you from getting the elevation that God has for you when you see the fire when you see the flood when you see the storm you know you're about to go higher Shadrach Meshach and Abednego got promoted immediately after surviving the fire the king said boy your God is the real God and the Bible says that he promoted all three of them see promotion is coming your way but when it starts coming your way the enemy wants to stop you the Bible says in first chronicles chapter 14 and verse 8 David had just finally become King King David just finally become King he got anointed when he was a kid but now he just got anointed again as an adult now he's actually going to be king and it says this first chronicles chapter 14 verse 8 when the Philistines heard that David had been anointed king over all Israel they went up in full force to search for him but David heard about it and went out to meet them now when he went out the Bible says he went to the valley of Rephaim which means the valley of the Giants this is not David's first encounter with Giants is it he just got anointed you know when he just got anointed as a kid his very next thing that happened to him was he encountered a giant Goliath now he just gets anointed to be king as an adult and what happens the valley of giants you see when Satan sees you about to elevate he recognizes that you're stepping out in your anointing you stopped accepting average you decided to say no to fear you decided to say no to staying at the same place but you stepped out of the boat into the water you stepped out into the Jordan River when you start to walk in your anointing the first thing the enemy's gonna do is come against you you decided to start going to church every week and what happened the car broke down the kids got the flu and the dog ran away it happens every time you step out the storm comes don't be discouraged in fact be encouraged when you step out in faith and you see that that enemy come out and you see the Giants in the land just know that you're standing in front of the valley of giants the Philistines the Bible says David went out to meet them immediately don't be afraid of the Giant you do like David did when Goliath came he ran at the Giant you know when you see the Giants in the land that victory is just on the other side God has something in store for you your about you shakin the king no darkness man Satan is shaking in his boots why cuz he's a defeated foe and you know what he sees when he sees you he sees Jesus on the inside of you heading his way he's scared of about what you're about to do listen to what God says you can stand if you like this is what God says in 1st chronicles chapter 14 and verse 15 David had said to the Lord what should I do and the Lord said to him as soon as she hear to David as soon as you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the poplar trees move out to battle because that will mean God has gone in front of you to strike the Philistine army now he didn't see it we don't always see it but we're listen closely enough to the Spirit will hear the army of God marching on our behalf he says you just sit tight cuz I'm gonna go before you and I'm gonna defeat those Philistines David did just that and the armies of the Lord went before him there in the pot tops of the trees because they're in the heavenlies they're higher than we can see but there's a multitude of God's angels marching ahead on your being Jesus is already gone before you knees your Joshua he defeated Jericho he defeated Ayotte he took the land at Bethel he defeated the five kings at the cave of McKenna he is going to go before you and remember the hands of the enemy into you praise God what are we gonna do stay standing stay standing what are we gonna do we're gonna receive the word of the Lord that he is the one who goes before us he will be with us and he will never forsake us listen I want I want if the band could sing that song about I am Not Afraid and if we could if we could just sing this song and cry out to the Lord I believe that fear will depart from your life forever I believe that that you'll just step in this is how we fight our battles we're gonna fight our battle today in our praise and in this song and if you've had a problem ever with fear being afraid or you know that today is your day to step out you know you need to get out of the boat I'm gonna ask you to do something a little crazy today I want you to step out of your Pew I want you to make a symbolic act and I want you to come down here and I want us as a family to sing this song and see fear driven out of this place a man come on down right now go ahead lead us in worship [Music] we are [Music] this company [Music] Sagat trust not you to see [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] [Music] fear is gone it'll never come back fearful dreams will not haunt you in the night fearful thoughts no more in the evenings the Angels surround your homes their safe places and retreats there's a canopy and a hedge around your home around your family you are safe all darkness driven driven out in Jesus name thank you lord thank you God thank you lord thank you Lord such businesses here that that with someone over here has an idea for a business but you've been holding on and then today as you were hearing the message you thought well maybe maybe I'm supposed to start you know start small put your feet in the water but started and who is it God is calling you to start this thing he's ready you even said to yourself and that you see you ask this question you said well that guy probably not me I don't have I don't it's probably not for me yeah what God was saying at is for you yeah it is for you there's been somebody who's been having tormenting fear in your life you even have visions of horrible things happening dad is gone now where are you been having tormenting fears there you are I knew it was you [Music] you're not gonna deal with that anymore okay listen do you it's okay it's okay the name of Jesus in Jesus name no more thank you lord [Music] you'll no longer torment her get out get off don't you ever come back in Jesus name the name of Jesus Jesus rebuked you peace I'm gonna sleep like a baby you're gonna sleep you haven't experienced the kind of sleep you're about to have in years praise God I think I don't have enough time to ok so stay here I don't want any moving around just for a second if you've never received the Lord Jesus Christ and you you know you need to this would be the part of the service where you give your life to the Lord you're just you're thinking yourself what is all this look this is this is God moving our our Lord makes away in our life he moot is for real he's real in us and ever since you walked in you started to feel something in the inside of you saying hey let me in and I'm gonna pray a prayer if you just repeat after me you could just open up that door and let him in change everything about you from the inside out your sometimes people think Christianity is all about the rules and what you have to do and we just not like that our Jesus comes in on the inside of us and he stirs us up and he gets us going in the direction he wants us to go and he changes things on our behalf on the inside of us right it's not about all the rules that God's gonna put on you it's not about a church and religion that's gonna go that's gonna create hypocrites okay but this is about a real Jesus a real Holy Spirit that comes in you and starts to direct your steps has Grace and
