[Music] so we just uh left mukin this morning and it's so far it's a nice sail out we are sailing about 50 nautical miles to the first island in luffin it's exciting it's uh it's not as sunny as yesterday but it should be a nice oh i'm already out i'm already out of lines to coil coil uncoil so i can keep talking like man it takes kiki 20 minutes to coil one line no it should be it should be a pretty nice sail it's going to be downwind the entire way uh maybe 20 knots so far it's 15 knots gusting to 20 and it might stay like that it might go a little bit harder but so far so good we had some nice little drone shots from raru this morning he came out with his drone it doesn't it doesn't happen often that we have drone shots from other people of us leaving a dock so that's nice it was such a beautiful little island like it's so interesting because we've only we were only there for less than 24 hours and we met some amazing people and it's it's definitely a charm so if ever you have the chance to be in the arctic definitely swing by muken and uh as for us there's a lot more to explore so north we go montage of sailing i'm out of breath all right nap time i need to put the fenders away now well i think we're officially on the cool side of uh norway get it whoa circle i think i think i probably said this joke like way too many times i don't think i need to coil this because we're going to be using it yes all right excellent departure that didn't feel quite right your hand's very limp what's wrong with it no that felt even weirder yeah you know i kind of uh kind of kept the gloves that i borrowed from uh uh the guys in the in the same boat the cleaning beach is this a confession i kept the gloves i borrowed i didn't say i stole it a big difference i kept the glove they gave to me they look comfy i want to pay no they're very comfy like they're they're technically gloves for fishermen up north which means that they handle like cold water cold fish so they're fleeced inside and they're waterproof on the palm so like our warm gloves are not really waterproof so as soon as you start handling lines they get wet and your hands get cold so and we have we have sailing gloves but they're not warm enough so this is perfect i like it i mean any fishermen store or any hardware still probably has these i want to get you a pair so i wish it was slightly bigger so that i can put my my warm gloves inside of them uh yeah like double warmth but anyway yeah i hope it's gonna be like this the entire passage pretty sure it's not i'm pretty sure the more offshore we go they're gonna have we're gonna have more swells and the wind's gonna increase this morning was blowing like 25 gusts into 30 and it might do the same in a couple hours or it might just be like this if i stay like this it'll be like a money passage maybe not money faster if i keep pointing the camera at you i'm gonna keep talking randomly talking this is fun i don't so should i stop talking and then just like let it let the camera just oh yeah and then the slow start should we put the pole out maybe no maybe yeah [Music] [Music] much better though without letting me head sails flogging around it's nice [Music] so [Music] [Music] uh looks like we might be getting wet soon maybe it's like a nice big rainstorm over there got a downwind of us but also a little bit off the port so maybe it's just gonna blow by [Music] it's cold the challenging part of sailing in a cold isn't really the fact that it's cold itself because if you're moving you're not that cold but it's when you're sitting still for a long time and you stop moving that's when you start feeling it i feel like i need to do some workout some exercises just to stay warm [Music] oh push-ups are hard when you're moving on the sailboat it's like triple the workout [Music] it calls me and no one knows how far i'll go that's the trick when it comes to being cool just gotta keep moving gotta shake it off literally ah cooper's dead camera's about to die [Music] we are inside of land we've only got about four more miles to go to the dock but now that we're getting close to these rocky shores of blue footing we've got a bunch of reflected waves coming back off so the sea state is starting to get kind of crazy uncomfortable uh and building up a little bit but the wind's still pretty good we're still at 20 knots downwind so it's not too bad but the sea's really kind of crazy stay nice and warm got all my layers on it's um it's one thing when you're out hiking and moving and walking around and and doing boat work or hoisting sails or getting ready to leave the dock but once you start just sort of sitting still for a while it gets cold quick especially when everything starts to go wet [Music] [Music] [Applause] [Music] right wow wow this looks awesome did you get some rest yeah i didn't know i was tired until i laid down because i thought i was fine but then i looked down and then we're like t-minus probably 15 from the breakwater wow and we thought luffin was majestic like this is it wow you glad we uh glad we sailed in today yeah yeah definitely glad waves are a little bit of a choppy side right now maybe current or something but yeah it wasn't too bad of a sail honestly it was pretty consistent so looks like we're gonna be arriving in a rain though do you wanna like rock paper scissors for who's humming what is it three out of ten is it two out of ten three out of two is that what it is winners winner gets to just winner just one one time yeah winner gets to decide rock paper scissors shoot paper scissors shoot oh what do you want lines are helmet i think i'm going to take the lines because i need to i need to go back to practicing that a little bit you're getting too good at helming huh honestly like i'm i'm getting really comfortable at helming now i need to get comfortable at handling the lines and you know jumping off the boat or lassoing or whatever it is all right all right so like feels like they're going to be there right in like 15 minutes or so yeah yeah um we'll probably uh sail in through the breakwater we'll keep the sail out uh and then motor around and and once we're kind of clear the break water will roll up and get lines and fenders even if you have to circle i think it'll be better than trying to do it out here it's too rolly yeah yeah that was good all right this is gorgeous [Music] [Music] [Applause] uh [Music] it's a lot of birds here man there's a lot of birds [Music] i might not have this kika i might not have this yeah let's do the outside i'm not going to be able to make that with the wind [Music] i was like come on wind i need you as my bow thruster as soon as i need it it's dead there you go [Music] crazy the only thing with the wind we're gonna get pushed into the dock yeah that's what i was trying to avoid but that's what fenders are for yeah and i feel like this is somebody's dock maybe because there's like fenders and a rope already ready to catch so yeah nice welcome to lupin i don't think our court is gonna be long enough in an ideal world we flip our boat around well it's still blowing a little hard to try to do some sort of like flip the boat around maneuver uh but tomorrow's supposed to be sunny and lighter so today i think we're just gonna walk the boat forward um and just let the wind come into the cockpit and then if we want to flip it tomorrow we will but we're going to keep it simple since it's still gusting 20 knots [Music] no need to make this too complicated [Music] [Applause] [Music] [Music] still gusting into the 25 30 knots only it's really calm in between and the next couple of days the wind's only supposed to increase so putting our big boys out because we're gonna be beamed to it up against the dock [Music] then they're gonna pull on our stanchions which i'm personally not a huge fan of [Music] all right we are officially docked the big fenders are in and we're ready to hunker down here for the next couple of days until we have favorable wind again to keep going but uh it's actually kind of interesting to think about the fact that back in the caribbean when we first started a passage like this with the waves and the wind would absolutely terrify us but now we're so used to sailing in norway that this is just a normal passage for us and uh it's just a little wet and a little cold but anyway i hope you guys enjoyed this video and a little bit of our karaoke session well not our a little of my karaoke session and uh i hope we see you guys in the next episode [Music] cheers [Applause] foreign
