Hunting A 1920s City Lake...Gold & Surprise Silver...#299

[Music] what good morning everybody today i'm up at a old city lake this one here has been around since the 20s it is really old you can see the water is way down it's supposed to come way back up here to this bank it's probably down about four or five feet i know you may see mr crane down there catching him some breakfast that's actually a great blue herring we just call them cranes here in east texas i'm gonna start up here at this old lake see if i can find anything so there's a lot of bank to hunt today see if we can find something interesting so i'm just trying to come up over there anyways i'm gonna get started now i'll get back to the first interesting signal well i'm working my way along this retainer wall here you can see the water's supposed to be up to about right here you see how low it is about a few junky pennies and a quarter i had one here coming in at 22. i think it's probably a bottle cap it's actually a little ring looks like one of the little aluminum ones but we've already pulled one out see if it's anymore this whole lake finding lots of pennies but there's another quarter signal man it's a quarter a lot of change out here so far like i said a lot of pennies but finding some stuff just keeps going pretty much a solid 20 probably another penny let's see if we get it and it's another on to penny next moved on up the lake a little bit well there's another a lot of beach here to come let's try this one sounds penny time she is out there somewhere it's gonna be a dime where they all turn red in this lake let's keep going no solid 16. about real deep and the old pull ring on the next another penny signal there it is right there another penny lots of dough this morning 29-31 right in the old clay whole quarter stuck in the clay 1965 on to the next a little jumpy 18 to 20 might be a fishing wheat not even that good just no buying a sausage lid here's another one little jumpy 18 to 20. it's in the pile check it out look at that pretty redstone awesome it's all tarnished up he's got a pretty red stone in it let's keep going pretty much a 19. and the old bottle cap get that here all crusted up keep going 24 25 got the way stick he's in there somewhere got another dime on to the next one i had one here coming in 11 12 13. a little jumping i wasn't thinking much about it figured it was part of a pull tab or maybe a nickel at best check that out check it out you got a chain oh that sure looks good i've found so many fake ones though see nothing there all right says 10 karat right there we got gold this morning 10 karat gold chain awesome that makes all them bottle caps and pull tabs worth it we keep going another one in the mid-20s so just another penny 18. and a little feeding this just about to rot away get up here check him out mr tadpole hadn't quite finished making it into a frog yet still got his tail whoa get out of here and of course i really go to the lake without finding one of those we got watermelon this time water watermelon banana ice another vape let's try this one for our last target 24-25 let me guess oh it's going to say penny but it's not it's a dime at least and i'll see y'all at the wrap up hey everybody going to a wrap up for today's hunt today i went over to old city lake it's been around since the 1920s the water was really low today like five or six foot low there's a maintenance man over asking what was going on he said they're actually pulling the lake down do some work on the old dam so i got to hunt in places that would normally be over my head and water i spent a lot of time mainly up on the bank stuff because like i said there was so much shoreline there now that's normally underwater anyways this is what i found today got me a fishing lure it's called a buzzbait a baseball fishing rod there's a couple of vine of sausage lids i guess somebody's using those for catfish bait probably got a vape got some batteries and all the bottle caps not quite as many pull tabs this time but well there's plenty of bottle caps over at that old lake i'm pretty good on the cloud today i got a dollar seventy five and quarters a dollar or seventy in dimes and there's the pennies i can mic can salvage and there's all the rotting away zinc doug it's a bunch of those and you get the fishing weights of course you always get plenty of fishing weights when you're working around lakes i actually got a surprise i was over cleaning up some of these dimes because some of them looked kind of shiny so i was checking dates and i wound up getting two silver roses out of it i got a 1962 and a 1964. surprise silver that was awesome i got me two rings today this here just one of those little aluminum rings got it pretty quick at the hunt but it's a ring none of this and then this one here is actually marked sterling got to get it cleaned up it's all kind of tarnished got a pretty red stone in it get you some pictures of it and of course the best find of the day they got me a chain i normally don't get too excited about these until i check the markings on them that one is marked 10 karat gold got me a gold chain today got me some silver and gold anyways it's a really fun hunt over there i got to go back sometime and get out further in the water they may have that lake drained down some more another week or two anyways i hope you enjoyed the hunt as always thanks for
