HUGE SUCCESS at my first Video Game Expo!

so take a look at this and this and this and this the thing that all these and more totes of games have in common is that by the end of the day i'm gonna try to sell them all that's right today i am going to my first ever video game conference game jam south i'm going to be setting up my first ever vendor booth putting all this stuff out on display for relatively cheap prices and hoping that i make a ton of sales and meet a ton of cool people in terms of my actual expectations for the day really what i'd love to do is meet a couple viewers if any of them happen to show up that'd be really cool uh and also sell at least 300 worth of stuff because i think i've got a lot of really good product back here and that would at least cover my travel cost to get down here to alabama so yeah folks we'll see what happens i'm taking you guys along for the journey as always and right now let's get to the venue all right so this is what the venue looks like from the outside it's called warehouse 207 looks pretty trendy oh okay it says vendors please come to the back door to unload that's why the parking lot must look kind of empty i'm gonna head back there and uh start getting all this stuff in there i definitely like this building it looks nice they're gonna be some video game tournaments going on here as well hey there good good to meet you what's your name todd todd or ty tom ty okay slade good to meet you guys cool so this is his face huh yeah i got your table up there and uh i'm gonna go ahead and start unloading yeah it looks like i'm might be less prepared than some of these folks there's some there's some professionals here yeah that's impressive yeah wow yeah he this is awesome he actually runs the southeast game exchange okay cool good to meet you nice to meet you yeah you guys look like you're uh very well prepared i'm impressed well this is our third convention in three weeks what i didn't know that many conventions happened oh my gosh they're popping up all over the world really cool yeah we did one in south carolina last or two weeks ago and then one in our little small town in mississippi dang so you guys are the experts huh no those were also our first two conventions okay awesome looks like more than enough space we're good i'm excited oh and i also i think i have my this guy here do i wear oh do i wear both of these you're double you're a special guest and a bender so you can double up that's what i'm talking about so it looks like one perk of getting here early is going to be uh getting to see all the stuff that all the other vendors are putting out like you know an hour or two early so i'm really excited for that but right now i need to focus on getting all the stuff out of my car and into my booth including all of that really cool promo stuff that i managed to find uh at the video game store on the way up here if you guys remember that video uh some really cool finds there definitely check it out if you haven't already uh and sealed luigi's mansion oh heck yeah somewhere are these guys all sealed there are a few of them no a couple of them are dead or alive is sealed okay oh here's luigi's mansion that's sealed is the seal on it pretty nice oh yeah this is crispy 270. that seems like a good price [Music] i think yeah i'd definitely be interested in this [Music] and this guy looks really nice too except a little bit on the hang tab but that's cool um if you're interested i'll sit on the side yeah yeah and you're welcome i mean i'm sure you guys are busy and everything but if you see anything in my booth that you like pretty much done shortly okay getting this thing set up yeah well if we could if we could set aside those three uh sealed ones that'd be awesome thank you i can do that oh man you guys have a bunch of cool complete stuff too this booth is the place to be i appreciate it i don't know if that's the case well folks i'm here with austin from game corner hooking me up with some solid deals had some really cool sealed stuff you said your story is game corner is that right yeah the video game corner it's in corinth mississippi uh-huh so it's uh about two and a half hours west of where we're at now yeah and i don't know if i'm gonna regret saying this but he said their store has a lot of really cool somewhat higher end collectible items so if you're in the neighborhood you probably do want to check them out but hopefully not before i do well folks i've been spending so much time going around and eyeballing everyone else's stock i really need to go get to work and actually start pricing some of this inventory here well as i was just gearing up to uh make some labels price labels for my games i made my first sale of the day the uh vendor next to me is actually a pop vendor he saw that i had some and made me an offer i think i had like eight of them and he gave me 50 bucks which i thought was a very reasonable price so yeah happy happy about that i'm already well on my way to my goal all right folks so as i'm frantically scrambling to try to get my stuff priced about an hour or so before the show actually starts i'm making some of my first sales and my first 50 sale of the pops then we've got this stuff here a couple new friends my friend jerry is buying for what was that 53 uh 54 bucks 54 bucks for this stack here i'm giving some solid prices here today and then over here we've got a bigger sale what are what's the damage so far we are 262 minus this bag which 262 and we're considering this what'd you decide okay so 250 a piece is what we decided for this bag of japanese game boy color games there's a pokemon gold in there there's a metroid there's some there's some cool stuff in here they japanese game boy games they don't go for a ton but uh forget about camtaro man and yeah and multiple hamtaros so yeah what does that bring our total to we gotta count them yeah all right i'll let you guys know once we count it all right so second sale of the day ended up being 340 surpassing my overall goal of sales for the day so uh was a pretty conservative goal but still definitely happy about that before this all gets picked over i'll give you guys a little glimpse of my booth here uh it's definitely not the most polished i have to say all of this stuff and like all this stuff over here not this but all the disc games under here are all three dollars uh this sega stuff sega saturn is like five bucks a piece and this uh nes stuff is all four dollars a piece so definitely giving out some good deals here because i don't want to come home with any of this stuff i've got some battle styles booster boxes for 115. got a whole bunch of nerdy star wars puzzles here that i'm hoping to get rid of uh and then i'm also i also have some of the stuff that i got like in the gamestop mystery boxes like these socks and stuff like that that i've been selling just sold some uh walking dead figures for like four bucks a piece i'm definitely giving deals out but i think i'm gonna walk out with some solid uh pocket money here so i still don't have everything fully priced right now but i need to make my rounds for buying before everybody gets here so i'm gonna try to do that and maybe buy some stuff right now 2 24. that's definitely not bad i'll think on this one what does the total come to well actually i might go for that simpsons game i said that freedom planet is cool all celeste classic i guess not necessarily a classic but that's a that's a game people love this one i'm interested in this is just a somewhat uncommon wii game and seal this is pretty nice got a little bit of scuffing on it um this is a gem for me for sure but this isn't priced yet either no but oh mario 64. does this have a manual uh i was looking for this literally on the way up but i i passed because it was a little out of my range oh it seems like it's loose in there it might be loose there's a manual but i don't have the gotcha no insert ducktails is nice what you could try and insert from one of those if you want if you do uh i'm not gonna i'm not gonna rush you on that sure man not gonna be that guy oh the stadium i just added this to the collection like this week yeah you guys have some great inventory i love it 30 on resort that's unfortunate ooh plenty of wii sports 20 bucks on esports is not terrible you all have any uh cool sealed stuff [Music] i know i i thought it was a great deal you should make a video of like getting stuff back from graded stuff oh it's in the works yeah i made the first part of it already where i show like hey this is my stuff this is why i'm sending it in now i'm just waiting to get it back so it's all gonna be one it's all gonna be one video really yeah if you guys if you guys at the end of this have any like uh jay from the game chasers man that's the third time i've heard of that of that uh expo today it's really good yeah i i need to make time all right folks acquisitions are going very well got some killer deals on this sealed stuff or at least one killer deal i don't know about the other ones um and also just picked up a uh 3ds xl for 130 bucks that is wild great deal 25 on the orange box i know that i'm missing stuff uh this game goes for like 70 complete and i got it sealed for 90. so that's a good deal luigi's mansion black label in really nice condition for 270 that might be the deal of the day absolutely crazy onimusha for 40. i think that's probably about what it goes for and then finally uh doa2 hardcore that was honestly completely a uh that was a total risk honestly i don't know what that is worth but uh time to keep going folks how's it going man good how are you what's your name i'm josh josh i'm caleb i've got the booth right here yeah man yeah so we're neighbors this that's awesome i thought they were going to be so much cooler and it came looking weird well i i think that's some of their charm like they're discolored and like ugly i don't know yeah it no i i kind of like that all right so i just did a last minute lap of the place before i have to settle down here at my booth while people you know are all coming in here and picked up a few cool things um got a 25 expansion pack should be able to just about double up on that we got 102 dalmatians puppies to the rescue the this and these two i got these three for 40. um ratchet and clank crack in time uh has definitely gone up recently and then check this out i got three sealed pokemon battle and coin game sets uh i'm really hoping that there's a poliwhirl somewhere in here i'm gonna have to open these up and get a massive nostalgia boost and then i may just uh take whatever i don't end up keeping and just give it away in the discord or something like that because i know someone's going to love those well folks the booth is rolling here now we got all kinds of good stuff 17 bucks for a shantae ps4 game we got sealed zelda lynx awakening sort of mystery kind of box here except it's not really a mystery i've been selling some good stuff i sold an n gauge in the box that had a little crack in the screen for like 25 bucks uh sold some like handheld boxes the only one i did decide to keep down here was this game boy so i just find these fairly often and i think the value goes up pretty uh substantially with the box this is actually something that you guys can weigh in on uh we had multiple people look at this because the label is a little bit like hazy kind of but the rest of the cartridge looks really good so you guys can weigh in on whether you think this is a repro cart or not i'm i'm undecided i'm sure all righty so we got a little uh little purchase here going probably one of the bigger ones since the other vendors bought some stuff but yeah i saw a little stack of nes stuff over here sales are going well in general all right folks i'm sitting here pricing all of this uh miscellaneous individual game stuff and about to make my first pokemon card sale of the day 115 on ebay these are like 125 so it's a decent deal but uh yeah happy to let it go for that and just in it just paid with paypal and the money's in the account so hope you enjoy well folks you may notice now there's a little gap in the table and that's because i just made my largest sale so far at five hundred and fifty dollars somebody bought the rest of my pokemon card booster boxes i gave him a discount of five dollars per box so it ended up being 110 a piece i paid i think after everything like 85 a piece from a distributor so i just had to think about that for a little bit of what that actually is but that's a 25 profit a piece total of 125 profit on that transaction which is not bad saves me a little bit of work slightly under market rate but uh that's just fine especially at an event like this jerry do you want to get this trade going sure yeah let me know what you find i think we said it was around 60 years yes 60 ish in value let me check this guy out that could be good all right i'll do that what did you have on sword it was 40 but i would do the both of them both of them yeah that'd be that'd be fair easy enough appreciate that man thanks man yeah all right so just traded a copy of psychonauts for a couple of pokemon games and i should be able to get i would say at least 40 for this and maybe like 35 for that and the game that i actually traded was worth like 60 so whoa so end up being a slight profit on that transaction not bad at all easy quick sellers on amazon all right and this is what you were looking to potentially trade for the stand here okay i can take a look yeah if you wanted to trade uh these four right here for it i could do that is that fair sweet i'm just happy to be getting this guy out of here and it's got some rubber bands in there that will help attach it to the base does that make sense or you could just use it like this too but right now it's just sitting on top of it but the base has some flaps that come up and you can use the rubber bands in there to there you go all right have a good one jerry i've got some more ps4 stuff i'd trade if you're interested always yeah yeah it's all all limited run stuff got it priced so oh sweet yeah i'm sure you've got some good stuff over there i could trade for how our sale has been going good not bad convention yeah i can't complain at all okay i do have a guy interested in that cool yeah i opened that and i read the back and i was like wow i wish i had a ps4 that looks amazing surprise you don't honestly well i've had them before i've i've flipped plenty of them but i've never kept one it's good yeah yeah and most of those i priced uh like 10 or so below okay what no new normally is all right looking for 105 worth of stuff is it supposed to all be from this table or anywhere it doesn't just wherever this and those and this yes cool all righty let's see what vice city's going for too much got the manual and everything yeah i can throw that on there so that brings us to 80. okay so you got 25 bucks left to go oh sealed dragon tails look at that oh yeah you want it sealed that's amazing that's some nostalgia for me i watched my fair share of pbs as a kid all right i'll be back in a second i'm gonna help these folks yeah 25 bucks left so now let me see what this thing's going for here yeah really nice case of manual and everything sweet um yeah it's definitely going for a good amount on amazon uh honestly i'd consider that all right that's definitely something that i've wanted for a long time but yeah i'll tell you what and did you know the sound doesn't work on it yes okay is there something i'll throw in the r-type do you have some other low dollar gamecube game you could throw in for the trade potentially i'll go over there and check it out yeah that'd be great back to you yeah you can hold on to that for a little bit cool so one of the other vendors was iron down that turbo express it's the most expensive thing that i have here at my booth at 350 and uh brought over one of the absolute gamecube gems here fire emblem path of radiance to potentially trade um it's almost equal value not quite so i said hey do you have some other like low-ish dollar gamecube game that you could throw in there you know to supplement the trade a little bit this i think actually on amazon i could probably get like around 350-ish after fees and it'd be easier to sell to than the turbo express so it's a good deal for me either way if i can get a little bit of a throw in since that one does come with r-type the game as well that would be ideal so we'll see what he comes back with but i think either way i'll probably do it obviously no problem okay would you mind if i came and take a look yeah i'm not honestly all that partial to gamecube but i'm happy to take a look at it yeah absolutely as soon as these guys get done looking i'll come on over all right brought this guy with me all right um yeah if i if i can find something cool that's in like the like 30ish dollar range would that be fair yeah i think so cool all right well i'll leave this with you then awesome pretty nice little gem yeah yeah yeah it's it's super cool yeah yeah it's a radio it has like the headphones yeah well i don't play through the would it normally play through the speakers on the express you know i would guess so i do know that the that that extension is somewhat hard to find as well yeah i can finally play did you guys have a charger with this i do have yeah we've got the we've got the red blinker it i mean i i can take your word on it would you would you just knock 30 bucks off of this and i can give you the 90. sounds good to me all right that's a deal for me hey looks good thanks perfect outfit for buying games you're going to need to tell me what some of this stuff is because i can barely see these huh so these are three dollar games everything right here okay ps2 wii et cetera ds including these networks yep including those these are four dollar nes games and then this is all five dollar saturn stuff i don't have a sander so well i do have a dreamcast okay and he's gone all right folks my next mission for the day is to see if i can take some of this stuff here that i still have left there's still a couple hours left but traffic has definitely slowed down and see if i can get some solid trade credit at other booths for stuff that's slightly underpriced and make a little bit more money that way for example like this this saturn stuff i've been asking five bucks a piece for i know that this sells fairly well in a lot of video game stores also some of these game boys are really cool the kind of the kind of thing that you could definitely price up in a local store and in particular if i could find a copy of mario 64 that's in nice shape that would be very tempting if i could trade something for it still have this mario 64. huh no problem yeah this looks nice for sure um so i brought this does this have any interest to you it's actually a japanese color variant yeah i mean they're neat but not not anything i'm really not for trade yeah yeah okay you guys have any interest in doing a trade swap for these uh some common saturn stuff any need i honestly don't mean fair enough i would normally say yes yeah just doesn't go that well for you no problem no dice pawning off my junk to the other vendors although i do have a good feeling i'll be able to liquidate a lot of this tomorrow they did just finish up the super smash bros ultimate tournament which i was super bummed i couldn't participate in but i'm here by myself so somebody's got to watch the booth i am happy though that i did end up making a deal for that uh turbo express that was definitely the highest dollar item that i had out here so it's cool and this whole bin is stuff that i did not have when i came in that i am leaving with including this absolute beauty so yeah it's been going really well so far we'll see how it progresses so just a couple quick thoughts on selling in person versus selling online i definitely think there is a solid satisfaction that you get from like taking a game handing it to someone they hand you cash you just i don't know it kind of feels different and i like that although i will say i personally am kind of an introvert and so having multiple hours the same thing happened like when i graduated and had a grad party and like got married and it's like a whole bunch of people coming up and like having the same conversation with you over and over to me it is it does get a little bit exhausting um but overall definitely an experience that uh i recommend and have enjoyed all right trade attempt number two let's see how this works what we got limited run ps4 stuff any interest maybe okay and vita although that's not definitely going to pass on the vita because i can't sell a vita game in my car are you serious to save our lives i may need to come come by then because vita sells good for me yeah this is a regular stocking and most of those i priced at like around 10 below what they go for okay i know i've got that one already okay i know i've got still what's going on man what in the world are you doing what's up it's justin i can't believe it yeah i should have expected you to come here how far away from uh i'm about an hour away okay so that's amazing yeah wow i figured out the flipping accountant everybody can you believe that i didn't want to interrupt you but i was like yeah he looks like he's chilling no you're good no traffic has definitely slowed down for me over at my booth so i'm just kind of seeing what i can do with the stuff that hasn't sold and seeing if i can make some deals so so that's the only one you'd be interested in right now i think i'm just going to stick with the psychonauts all right well better than nothing i'll see if anyone else is interested in the rest of this stuff um could i put that towards the celeste collectors absolutely you put that towards whatever you want i think i will probably do that well folks as the conference is winding down a little bit here we've got about technically about an hour left uh i was surprised by the presence of my friend here justin he uh also has a youtube channel called the flipping account he does a lot of like retail arbitrage and uh stuff like that also sells on amazon what's been your uh take this is actually his like home turf because you're only what like an hour away or so yeah i'm only about an hour away and uh i definitely i definitely glad that i came up here i should have come up here sooner i tried to uh head up here and then i had a flat tire and i was like maybe it's just not meant to be but i have a portable air compressor filled my tire up and i was like let's go it was meant to be that's right absolutely you're looking for a puzzle yeah actually for you i'll do four okay thank you very much i appreciate that have a good one a little live action deal for you guys this booth is live right now i like the way you negotiate because like people offer you a price and you're like i will i will take less that's perfect the opposite of what i do at garage sales yeah um yeah what's been your impression of the event so far yeah no this this is pretty awesome i came later in the day so it's definitely a lot quieter than what i expected i expected to be like super busy but uh they just did the drawing they just like did the drawing for some uh video game stuff and now that it's over i think it's really gonna die down a little bit but this is way cool i wish i had to come out here sooner yeah it seems like a really cool place to be so plus i'm a huge video game nerd too yeah like i i still have all my super nintendo my nintendo 64 stuff all that so part of this was like looking to resell stuff but another part was like what what can i buy to add to my phone it's nice just hanging out and geeking out with other nerds too yeah i'll try to remember to uh link his channel in the description below you can check him out if you guys want and this is just kind of what the uh expo is looking like right now definitely a lower head count than what we were seeing earlier at about 10 o'clock but uh yeah i'll check in with you guys again a little bit later after i get this stuff all broken down and give you the final tally of everything that i ended up selling and also a final look at everything i picked up this is the amount of money that i have left to spend in my wallet at the end of the convention this is the amount of cash that i had left in my pocket from people buying stuff from me at the convention minus about 200 in cash that i had to get out of my pocket to buy this stuff over here which i ended up coming away with that i did not go into the expo with so i'll definitely take you guys all through all of these games but the total that i ended up making on the expo as a whole i just calculated including paypal and cash and everything that i spent on the goods that i sold was seventeen hundred and twenty dollars which definitely blew my expectations out of the water definitely helped that i sold six hundred dollars worth of booster boxes and also just had a lot of other good miscellaneous sales but let's take a look at some of the acquisitions that i'm coming away with that i really didn't expect too much of at this expo this was definitely the biggest uh pleasant surprise for me so a lot of these titles right here and the ps1 back here and both this heart gold and soul silver and this pokemon stadium even and a lot of these games too were pickups that i made right at the end of the conference as everything what i keep calling it a conference it's technically an expo that's what i'm trying to call it um because there weren't like speakers or anything like that but yeah all these games i got right at the end as everything was closing down i went up to this booth that i knew was a couple of collectors rather than uh like people who are representing a physical video game store because i knew and these guys had told me before as we were chatting they want to go home with as little of it as possible and they were willing to cut me some solid deals if i was able to buy a lot and i was so i'll show you some of those titles here we've got the half life which i ended up picking up for 30. this life camera pants was five uh time splitters i think was like 25 maybe pokemon coliseum this doesn't have the manual uh but that was 80. um this one romancing saga i think was only like 20 so that was a great deal fire emblem i mentioned earlier path of radiance was part of a trade that i did uh this and 30 credit on this 3ds for the turbo express that i brought which i was definitely happy to get rid of uh shadow of the damned i think i actually paid up at like 60 bucks because these are doing super well on amazon right now punch out was 20 which is a great deal this one has actually gone up in price uh dukes of hazard was like 10 or 15 good deal on that zeno saga i can't really remember i guess maybe 15 rampage i don't remember actually throwing that one in i might have done this one on accident i can't remember probably would have been like 10 or 15 bucks kai was only like 15 i believe uh this one i think was 30. evil dead was 15. marvel ultimate alliance was like 20. uh trials of cold steel was 20. orange box i had gotten earlier in the day this was 10. uh pilotwings was a part of another trade that i did with a different booth uh and anyway these games i did end up looking up these sealed ones uh onimusha the last one sold was 50 and i paid uh 39 here but the lowest one listed right now is at like 140 so i'm not really sure what to believe on that uh that's just sort of a representation of how crazy the sealed game market is right now it's definitely blowing up uh doa 2 hardcore similar situation i don't think actually there were any solds on this one but the lowest one listed was i think 80 plus then we'll save luigi's mansion for last that was definitely the find of the day moving up here i picked up both pokemon soul silver and heart gold for 120 bucks a piece and they do have the manuals in there so that's actually a decent price on those games right now also paid 120 for pokemon stadium which is funny my friend hunting with tripler actually sold me that game because i was looking for it recently for a super bro price of uh 140 bucks i think he was asking over 200 for it on ebay and then just today i found this for uh 120. so this is definitely in the solid flippable range this might be the kind of thing that i end up uh listing on instagram and seeing if anyone wants it just because it's such a classic sought after game um but yeah then finally easily easily my best find of the day was this black label luigi's mansion for 270 dollars i think the reason that they priced it like this was that there's currently a greatest hits version that is listed right now for 270 in sealed conditions but the last first print black label copy of this to sell on ebay went for 1200 ungraded and this one is in really nice shape i probably will end up getting this graded the only flaw the only tiny flaw that i can find in this seal i don't think you guys may even be able to see it there's a teeny tiny like almost pinprick kind of a break in the seal up here i don't think that's going to affect the grading to the point where it would make it not worth it to grade because the rest of the seal does look so nice i am honestly a little bit disappointed that they would put the uh sticker right on there on the plastic that's something that i'm gonna have to get removed by the grading service but uh either way an absolute steal of a deal and that was like first thing in the morning so i was super stoked to get that in terms of my thoughts on the overall experience is this something that i will do again i would say yes kind of i really enjoyed the overall expo experience i would probably not save up so much inventory because i mean some of this stuff i've been sitting on for months i probably wouldn't do that and i'd be interested in going to more convention slash expos in the future just to buy i would love to be able to get there as early as possible do a bunch of buying on the first day for stuff that i can find maybe that's underpriced and then also be around when everything is wrapping up on the last day similarly to what i said before to be able to catch people who maybe are willing to uh give better deals that way because they don't want to take stuff home so anyway that was kind of my takeaway from this experience overall extremely positive really glad that i did it had a lot of fun made a lot of money and will make a solid amount of money on the stuff that i picked up here overall very profitable as i promised you guys i am going to uh set this camera up here sorry it may be a little bit crooked uh but i'm going to open up these three battling coin game packages here gosh part of me doesn't really even want to do this i feel like i'm you know devaluing this it's even got the hang tab on the back here maybe i'll keep one of these sealed and i'll open too maybe that's the compromise that i'll do with myself and i'll leave one sealed just to keep on the shelf like that i kind of like that idea what would i like to see in these obviously i'd love to see poliwhirl i'd love to see muck that's actually one of the my sleeper favorite pokemon i've got i like a lot in first gen though so there's a lot that could really make me happy here i will give you guys my brutally honest reactions to the coins that we get all right here we go the first one you guys are seeing it before i am what is it oh dragonite line i'm on board with and the last one at number 128 tauros i know that was one of ash's pokemon honestly i'm not a huge fan uh so this one was kind of meant kind of meh for me slide that sucker back in there and then let's do this other one to wrap up the video here we go the final reveal okay this one actually is definitely better we've got psyduck who i actually don't mind graveler
