it wasn't an eviction or anything like that and i i think the eviction moratorium is still in effect here in illinois so people aren't getting evicted right now so yeah it was uh i don't know probably five videos ago i think a lot of people were like i can't believe you're picking through an eviction how sad am i there there are situations like that this just happened to not be one of them can't quite tell with that i think it's an umbrella umbrella umbrella no this but that's cute scrappers don't say cute paul uh really good thanks for letting me know i like it it's very magnetic i tell is a really good scrap day yeah that air conditioner all that stuff in the back it's not even nine o'clock in the morning yet yeah and we're i think a little bit more than halfway done with the route so oh this is good real good drink in the house yeah no it's not or uses water i don't know about you but does anyone else like regular room temperature water when you're working versus cold water yeah i like just regular water cold water gives me a stomach ache and i feel weird afterwards no bueno yes sir hey you got a card i do yeah absolutely give me one yep you got some scrap around well sort of okay you need to get it sorted and give it to somebody we can use it okay yeah absolutely quick story time my daughter and i went scrapping the other day and when we were at the scrapyard i didn't film any of it but when we're at the scrap yard um well i know i did film a little bit of it's on my instagram yeah i got splashed they dropped the magnet in the in the pool in the where all the mud is from the scrapyard yeah i have like 100 year old iron mud was all over me anyway that's that's neither here nor their part of this story so i i met a viewer from wisconsin he said paul i've been a i've been an undercover scrapper for dozens and dozens of years i see a cord on that and uh he's like you know what i've always been ashamed of being a scrapper until i started watching your videos and i'm not trying to take the credit for this i'm just saying that there's a shift there's a paradigm shift of that scrapping and recycling i mean this is this is the most real recycling that we can do because this is going to get turned into new products very soon the the life cycle of scrap is is not very long i think it's under a year so he's like paul i want to let you know that i appreciate um oh somebody got the cord all right either dog chewed it or there's another scrapper around here which i think there is which is good yeah there's there's a few scrappers so anyway talking with this guy from wisconsin he said hey paul i drove from the middle of wisconsin just to see michael stopped by here happened to trip across um seeing you at the scrap yard and i said yeah don't have my camera or anything with me just decided to do some me scrapping and some wee scrapping with my daughter and so yeah so he met my daughter and and myself and but i didn't know what he was up to he drove out all the way from the middle of wisconsin to northern illinois to turn in a year and a half or more's worth of bare bright copper that he and his buddy have been stripping or getting and stripping so i don't know the exact number but it was a completely full truck of bare bright copper oh five thousand dollars worth of copper i don't know something huge something absolutely huge so i am proud of this guy's efforts i'm proud of what this guy's up to um and yeah there's no shame in what we do this is real recycling this is stuff that's headed moments of being put into a trash truck and taken to a landfill to get buried forever yeah i don't know maybe some some uh scientist is gonna they're gonna start mining these landfills i don't know but i do know that's getting it's uh that's how we are managing our waste burying it so there is no shame in scrapping all right i'm done with this neighborhood there's going to be a citywide or community-wide community garage sale friday and saturday so today's wednesday so uh i really like those because it is neighbors to neighbor training and corporate isn't getting their fingers into that oh if it's metal or plastic or wood plastic bummer man oh yeah it's direct v [Music] direct in my truck uh-oh g-man's coming man he ain't playing what is that that looked very interesting that thing yeah that all right busted up let's go to a back of a truck yeah except for the busted upness it's quite nice pcr yes i'll take some speakers i'm wondering if they want to get rid of their tote i don't know i probably want to keep their tote i would that's a nice one it's a real nice tote cord has been clipped so yeah that's evidence it's not a conviction of a scrapper it's evidence just in case they want tote back i wouldn't play with one maybe it's a box this might be my favorite tree-lined drive i dig it is that a pile what might we have here nope just boxes not a pile not a pile this is my last street on this route the final countdown to the scrapyard so i'm here at my shop again i take that uh that chair that aluminum chair off into here before i go to the scrapyard and some guy's like hey you want a lawn mower actually he's not a guy he's a friend of mine actually next door shop neighbor and i'm like yeah he said it works maybe i'll call the uh the mower man [Music] i do want to see if it starts though okay all right she's a [Music] of that runner pile all right let's go to my happiness yeah so they're selling scrap right now because there's that truck right there and then there's another truck in there being filled up looks like this truck is being filled up hopefully not showing up no maybe on the other side all right i don't know how much uh i'm weighing i'm gonna guess seven thousand pounds that would be nice yeah seven thousand pounds i really don't know what it's going to be i see zeros yeah nope almost though uh 6920 pounds 69 20. so [Applause] so [Applause] [Music] [Applause] [Music] good
