that looks not terrible honestly [Music] well my FIB to you I said it's gonna be wild until we got back on the 555 but I was actually able to get material rounded up quicker than I expected we're right back on the 555 rebuild let me show you where we left off on a previous video we got the wheels and tires off of there we got the front counterweights off there and the bucket off there and we got a little bit of paint prep done on the stick and the bucket in the back so we're going to keep going on this thing do a little bit of prep work for the quick attaching anticipation of that showing up pretty soon a little bit more paintwork there was some controversy on the way I use the por15 I think a little listening would have gone a long way but we'll certainly address the comments on that and that way if you ever use this you know there are a few little caveats caveats I'm not fancy enough for that word there's some things you got to know when using this so start out we're gonna do a little bit of degreasing I had this whenever I did the boom it's the por15 Degreaser but I typically just use like laundry dish soap for degreasing because that's what it's supposed to do it's cheap it doesn't affect me and it certainly doesn't hurt when it runs on the ground I did want to try their products see if it works any better it says mix it four to one four parts water to one part Degreaser that's what we've got in this fancy spray bottle it says weed killer thank you it honestly smells just like dish soap or detergent of some sort it doesn't smell like anything super crazy aggressive so I did two rounds on it I sprayed it and I took a stiff bristle brush scrubbed the worst spots down did the same thing did it again and then I went down and I snagged her perfect portable pressure washer so I'll show you that here in a second we're going to hit it with Degreaser one more time and then pressure wash the heck out of all those tough to get areas so this is his portable pressure washer he's made if you've been with the channel for a while you've seen it before just an old in fact it came off the Mac Truck another little aluminum fuel tank with a hose reel that is a pump off of a car wash we tore down gosh probably 15 years ago and then he just rigged that up so it runs right off the PTO of his 655 allows us to pressure wash stuff where we don't have water pretty handy really the area that's still the worst is right inside that cavity there where the hydraulic pump is there's a little bit of a seep here and there it's just collected a tremendous amount of oil over the years as far as just being surrounded and obviously all the grease points have some grease hanging out I'm going to kind of Target those areas pressure wash it again and we should be ready for the next step oh The Next Step just let that dry overnight I'll catch you guys in a couple days thank you too far so I tracked down some three-quarter steel plate for the frame reinforcement we're going to work on getting this part cut out next the forecast says no rain today but the sky is telling me something different so instead of us getting some paint on here and then a little bit of rain coming in and ruining all that we'll just do a little bit of Steel work a lot of people did say that I could get away with half inch steel in that reinforcement and I agree with you I absolutely could strength wise but keep in mind we also want to add as much weight as we can up there and that three-quarter is going to fit in there really nicely because whenever we make this quick attach and that bucket comes off to switch to something else we're losing a tremendous amount of weight on the front end so to keep us down on the ground instead of going up into orbit a little bit of extra plate weight certainly isn't going to hurt us so I'm going to Mark out like so these cuts are different than what the actual counterweight is but I'm actually just going to set the counterweight on here follow it with the torch and then we'll just have to freehand those and make them look like we make them look make them look how they look at the hope of my Welding Table can support this [Applause] don't forget holes in your pants Will Make You Dance that's for sure so I need this cut to look pretty good up here I'm just sliding the weight to where that cut is I can use the weight as a straight edge easy maneuverable yeah then he Notch that corner right there oh my God foreign [Music] so that fits pretty nice I left this long because I want to get holes in it get it bolted up and then Mark that a little bit more precise than what my template is I need this to be as tight and as neat as possible because that's going to be that weld joint everything else is is what it is it's just a little bit of dead white but I need that to be perfect so I just threw a second coat on the back side of this we're going to go over to the counterweight counterweight that pairs with that which means I'm done beating up on it and using it for a stencil so we're going to start getting several coats of I ran out of my Rust-Oleum enamel so I picked up some of this I think it's going to do a pretty good job so this stuff can start drying that way we'll be ready for install now it's all said and done we'll probably throw a final coat on anything and because once we get all these on this is going to be buried I'm going to go ahead and get this cleaned up and get some primer on it foreign [Music] thing I want to do real quick whatever the previous owner did with this they just ran the front end into a whole bunch of walls over time can you see how that's all smashed back I need to clean that lip up one so the grill fits in there the way it's supposed to just a well just to clean it up a little bit I suppose just go use a flap wheel that way we don't get too aggressive just enough to kind of clean her up that should do it it's got that lip shaved off smooth on both sides it's still pretty beat up but at least it's smooth that should allow me to get that Grill actually where it needs to go a few people keep asking well I haven't put it on yet well I'll tell you so on the bottom see how it's got a welded nut on the back side the top side does not have a welded nut on the back and I don't know what the plan was for getting that on there but I need to weld a nut on the back of that next thing I want to do before we go throwing primer on this I want to go ahead we're going to fire the generator up and we're going to go ahead and cut a little bit of a bevel on this you're going to laugh when you see how aggressive I made the bevel on this plate we're going to be filling five inches but that's okay because I want it to be plenty strong so I'm going to put a little bit of a bevel on that there's that side beveled and cleaned up I got to get something different to get inside that corner that here a little bit and here's this side here not too bad she's the flap wheel on all this I ended up just putting a regular grinder wheel on there turn it on edge being able to get in there and get that inside corner cleaned out pretty well on this side these lines are in the way and they're going to be in the way whenever I'm welding stuff up too so I think I'm just going to disconnect them here get them up out if I'm not mistaken I believe they broke that line at one point and then they just slapped a piece of hose on there and that's fine probably do the same thing that ought to do her just fine so I'm gonna go ahead and roll that nose cone this time for my primer I'm using this I had several people suggest this we try the por415 on the back and we'll get to the whole what we were talking about earlier thing as we get to the back of the machine if I had a lot of people suggest this and I want to try it out so I picked up a quart of it and we're going to roll the nose cone because that's what we're doing we're kind of and we're just looking for function so I just want to get the metal protected the rust under control and keep this thing working and looking decent as long as we can hopefully between the pressure wash and the degreasing the pressure washing again the wire wheel the flap wheel and all the cleaning with the uh with the rags and acetone we're going to be all right with it one of the main reasons I want to try this and see how well it works is this is supposed to store better that por15 or poor 15 whenever you open it up that's done whatever you got left you put back in the can they say you can't use it so hopefully with this if I got left over I can actually use it again in the future oh yes very nice all right good catch good catch at least foreign so now we can let that dry while we get the other side cut out and hopefully by the time we get the other side cut out and cleaned up that should be good on its recoat time as far as getting some enamel on it says 24 hours but you know me we're gonna go like four and then we'll throw some enamel on I forgot I got the top counterweights burying the weeds over there we gotta get those cleaned up and painted too so those are ready to go foreign get back to the torch work the other side should be identical I held the template up it looks good I'm literally going to set this down on this sheet of three quarter and run the torch around and copy it that's all we're going to do we're not going to get any fancier than that we can start getting it test fit up there and see what she looks like smack these excess pieces off get it off that Timber we'll clean that out we'll start drilling some holes and see if we can't get this thing uh lined up being under attack by wasp the whole time I was doing that was definitely not on my agenda but I only got stung once and I got two of them with the torch just tapped them while they flew by works pretty well that's not too bad of a chunk of Steel to keep around throw that in the center that's my savings that looks not terrible honestly I clipped a little bit off that so we can close that Gap up that looks pretty good and the front looks pretty good well I don't know is where my holes are at so I may need to come up or down on it so before we do trim that because if we have to go down let's go close that Gap up let's see if we can't get these holes knocked through I got four holes piloted through and I started to widen them out but I'm going to let my drill cool off just a little bit I should have just spent the money on an inexpensive mag drill off Amazon anyway because by the time this is done we're going to be buying a new cordless drill because we're not burning that one up most likely these have primer and two coats a black name I'm going to flip them over and clean up the back sides as well all right so I got down to the last size 7 8 which is what I need for these bolts and ended up breaking the bit luckily the Admiral is going to pick one up for me on our way home from work so we'll have a fresh bit and I'm not getting a step bit I've got an actual drill bit to finish these holes out I have to do the same thing on the other side but they're through enough that I can see my bolt holes line up pretty much perfect I'm pretty happy with it the way it's sitting so we're good to go ahead and take this with the grinder and get her cleaned up get some primer and paint on these things here's how the back side of these plates turned out that's still just a touch tacky but I'm going to go ahead and move them over to the backhoe so they're out of the way and we don't get all that mess all over these I just had a time saving idea just you're gonna be blown away oh I need to clean Prime and paint the backs of all four of these we'll set it up a simile line style I know I'm blown away too and while these dry I think it's time to go get the yellow tractor enamel go ahead and get a coat of enamel on the hood and see how that looks so here's what I'm using industrial AG Specialty Coatings now that sounds pretty fancy heavy duty New Holland yellow I did have somebody say the comment they said they've used the New Holland yellow and the New Holland yellow does it match their New Holland now I'm not worried about anything matching you know read the backhoe we're just we're not there plus we'll stick with this color as we paint the machine So eventually it will all match but today isn't eventually today's Tuesday so we're just gonna paint like it's a Tuesday rolling around pretty thin I think I'd rather do several thin coats just kind of getting it on and then backer on it oh oh bees in it already good so one thing people disagreed about or had comments about was the por15 I think people thought I was going to leave this as the final coat and I get it I did not clarify in that video that there's going to be a coat of a name will go over top of this I want to add to that so I'm pretty much using this as a primer I've got some new Holland yellow construction enamel to go over everything when it's all said and done and I should have done that I should have been more specific about that it does say specifically on that can that if exposed to direct sunlight for an extended amount of time it can cause damage and fading it doesn't say how long that is though it doesn't say if it's talking hours days months years doesn't really specify but I'm assuming waiting a few days until we can get some enamel on here isn't going to be too big of a deal I'd hoped to do that today but you see how that's in the ground and you remember when we disconnected those oil cooler lines earlier I don't think firing the engine up is going to go really well right now now you might be asking yourself Mike why would you go with the ugliest known yellow in the equipment Community well now that's a good question is it because the tractor store oh hold on is it because the tractor store I just happened to go to that day was in the process of completely redoing their inventory and switching up the paint companies that they use so they had some paint on clearance and that just happened to be an enamel that was on clearance that day I mean possible we'll never really know the important thing is it's definitely going to look better than rust when it's all said and done I got to get a second coat on these and I think we're going to call it I just looked down and forgot that this was under here I mean I knew it was there but I've done nothing as far as making this look nicer or painted up clean it up while it's out because it's got to go up and oh I think I might have paint on my shirt I'll be dipped anywho I need to make this look decent too because that's got to go up with all these plates when we put them on yeah a little bit there that's good that'll be a really well protected shoulder nothing wrong with that I don't know how to get this weight out of here she's heavier than I can pull maybe it's just more the position it's in it's kind of awkward down in there you know I get a strap around one of them holes and give her the old heave hoe foreign I got it you're fine it's like magic I'm not too worried about this side or even the back side back there nobody's ever going to see that but since these counterweights and everything up here is gonna look all fresh shiny and new and that's going to be sandwiched together it will look silly having an old rusted busted clapped out section front and center I figure we might as well get that cleaned up so at least we're matching there primer a little bit of paint too shabby and check out what came in the mail today just a few minutes ago my quick attach plate so we can start working the quick attach on the loader arms to figure out how we're going to make that I was really hoping to get all these plates and counterweights up and bolted into place I knew I wouldn't get them welded but I was hoping to get everything bolted in place so we can see how everything's going to look but I just need this paint to dry just a little bit longer I still got to paint the front side of those and I still got to clean and paint the back side of that one there before we get it up so it's going to have to be in the next video so you guys are gonna have to stay subscribed and stay tuned so you can see what's coming I definitely appreciate you guys watching
