HUGE BOOK HAUL (so many beautiful & exciting books)

okay hello everyone today i'm going to be filming the biggest book haul ever i have so many books to show you because i haven't filmed a book haul in like i think over five months or something i don't know i have a lot of books that have accumulated but there are so many amazing exciting books in this book haul so i'm really excited to show you them but before i talk about all the books and start with new releases so obviously these aren't like new new because some of them came out like january and stuff but let's do it also i'm not going to talk about the books like super in depth because obviously there's a lot to get through i don't know if i'll be able to have time to do that you know i don't want this video to be like two million years long but the first book is actually dave brown by charlie hibbett and i've already talked about this book because i've already read it and i loved it definitely my least favorite in the brown sister's trilogy though but still so good so much fun just love charlie hibbett's books so this is basically yes the third book in the brown sisters companion series so this follows e brown and it's an adult romance it's super cute i just wasn't a huge fan of the male love interest so i wasn't like as obsessed as i was with the other two books but you know there were definitely some stunning scenes and i have some of my themes so i can go back to them because they're stunning okay then i have one of the good ones and this is one of my most anticipated releases i haven't read it yet need to fix that but how something is this cover so gorgeous and i'm pretty sure this is a thriller yes thrilling and thrillingly intricate genre bending oh yes genre bending i love books and any media that are genre-bending thank you so this investigates intergenerational racial trauma through the eyes of three very different sisters like yes that sounds amazing so excited to read this then i got clara in the sun and this is the most stunning edition that i saw at gimmicks like how pretty is that oh exactly and it has the ribbon bookmark too and i've never read any books by kazuo ishiguro but caitlyn and jamie love this author and we're going to buddy read this together hopefully and i don't know what it's about but i just trust their opinion and they were like we should read it so i was like yeah okay i've talked about this book 10 million times my channel but a quarter of a flames yes stunning on my new fames loved it and this dust jacket is actually from the etsy store stars at dream but they're not selling it anymore so i'm really sorry i get a lot of questions about this dust jacket but yeah i bought this dos jacket because the original dust jacket no offense is kind of ugly so i prefer this one and i love it i love this book thank you and cassian okay then i have chain of vine of course i can't believe i haven't read this yet it's disgusting it's disgraceful it's horrendous it's horrific it's just no i can't believe i haven't read this book yet but i definitely plan to read it like asap don't worry it's only one of the next books that i pick up i might even pick it up this weekend but anyway i loved the first book this is the second book in the last hours series in the shadowhunters chronicles i love these characters can't wait to read this book because i honestly think it could be better than the first one because of you know what's been set up and everything i'm just really excited that's one of my favorite tropes that's going to happen in this book and obviously i won't say because spoilers but thank you very excited then i have the hardcover of yoke which is stunning i just yeah look how cool that is with the hand holding exactly this is one of my favorite books of the year i loved it so much i'm going to reread it this year definitely like it's just everything it's about two korean sisters it means so much to me i've talked about it quite a lot because i read it in my well one of my 24 hour readathons but absolutely love it and i realized mariachi toy is my favorite author after reading this because i just absolutely love her obviously appreciate the korean representation so much and i've loved all her books so far so thank you mary choi if you're watching this you're the best i don't think she's watching it but i can't wait to see what she comes up with next i just think she is literally amazing so love to this then i have eyes that kiss in the corners and this is a children's picture book about this girl who is asian and she's like why do my eyes look different to everyone else's at school like all the white kids and it's basically just to celebrate you know the shape of her eyes and it's such a stunning stunning picture book i already read it obviously it was really quick to read and it was just beautiful and i'm just so happy that it exists like oh so cute i wish i had this growing up but i'm happy it exists now like it's stunning okay now i'm going to move on to books that were sent to me from publishers and stuff so first we have heartstopper volume 4 which i read in my most recent vlog cried because i loved it so much oh this is my favorite volume so far yes i love these covers too and they all look so good together six crimson cranes by elizabeth lim this is an arc and it is literally gorgeous look at this thank you absolutely stunning so this comes out in july and basically it's an immersive y fantasy retelling of the grimm brothers the six swans fairy tale set in an east asian inspired world thank you then i have malice and this is a feminist retelling of sleeping beauty i believe and i think it's also suffolk so thank you then i have a bullet train and i believe this is an adult thriller and apparently it's gonna be made into a movie which is cool so it says five killers board a train in tokyo who will make it to the last nation that sounds amazing and i love to train to busan which is a korean horror movie and obviously this is different but you know any sort of thriller horror story that's set on a train i'm suddenly into it now because of change of the sun so yeah i'm excited about this oh it's also episode in japan so maybe this is translated love it okay then i have the lake and this is another thriller and it says welcome to camp pine lake where the only thing is scarier than a ghost story is the past coming to haunt you love the drama love camp set thriller horror stories yes exactly exactly i'm trying really hard to get through all these books and i feel like i'm going so quickly but also i don't know if i'm quick enough but let's just go with it okay so then i have two books that were sent to me from amplify bookstore which is an australian based bookstore and they focus on promoting bipolar authors so of course love them and they reached out and asked if i wanted some books and i was like oh my gosh yes please and i just love them so i'll have them linked below but first i have fresh water and this is jessie jesse from bow ties and books this is their favorite book of all time so i definitely want to read it because i absolutely love jessie and this is supposed to be like really unique don't really know what it's about but i think it explores like gender i think the author is non-binary and it's supposed to just be stunning and beautiful so i'm excited to see what i think and then they also sent me reminder by junji ito of course jojito we all know that i absolutely love jungito so i had to get his newest release and i'm very excited i actually can't believe i haven't read this yet but i'll definitely read it soon junji italy writes harumanga if you don't know and i absolutely love his weird mind this kind of looks like it has sci-fi vibes but obviously we'll see when i read it okay then i have the official grimoire which is like the replica from buffy the vampire slayer tv show which i love so this is so cool this is from inside editions and they sent it to me and oh i will have it linked below of course because i love it and i also have a discount code with inside editions now so you can get 20 off i think i'll have it on the screen and below but it's so cool like if you love the show puffy you will love this it's literally like the perfect replica and i just love replicas from movies and tv shows it's just so satisfying to me so thank you then i have becoming by michelle obama and this is adapted for younger readers so i have already read becoming like the original one on audiobook and i absolutely loved it so obviously this has been adapted for younger readers which is really cool and yeah like i said i learned a lot from this book and i just really adore all the messages throughout it and there's also like images in the book and stuff so really happy to have this then i got acts of desperation and this is a blistering anti-romance about the seductive destruction of trying to find self-worth in the gaze of another which just sounds amazing like i think i have that issue where i always see myself through others eyes so i definitely want to read this then i got open water and this looks stunning it's apparently a love song to black art and thought an exploration of intimacy and vulnerability between two young artists learning to be soft with each other in a world that hardens against black people i'm very excited also this is like really short so you could maybe it's a romance if it is then i could read it this weekend for my romance read-a-thon but yeah it's literally like 144 pages or something so thank you they fall in love yep i'm reading this for my room it's a readathon oh i'm very excited for this now yes thank you okay then i got this stunning book this is lonely castle in the mirror and i absolutely love this cover it's so pretty and i believe this is a translated novel yes this author is a well-known author of best-selling mystery novels in japan so very excited about this i think this is a blend of genres so it says in a tranquil neighborhood of tokyo seven teenagers wake to find their bedroom mirrors are shining and when they touch the mirror they pulled from their lonely lives to a wondrous castle so it sounds like it's gonna be really fun and magical thank you okay then i have an arc of ace of spades which i'm so excited about because i talked about this in my most anticipated releases video it is coming out later this year on the 10th of june actually not too much longer but basically it is like dark academia vibes it's supposed to be like get out to meet gossip girl and it's like a thriller just everything about it sounds amazing and i actually won the giveaway to win this so i was like oh my god it's my first giveaway i think that i ever won and also having obviously because i'm so excited about this book so hopefully i love it definitely planning to read it soon hopefully this month then i got super fake love song by david yun and i was obviously really excited about this because it follows a korean main character and i love david yun's other book um frankly in love although on goodreads this has some mixed reviews so if anyone has read this please let me know if you think i'd like it slash if you liked it i think i definitely want to give it a try still because it sounds fun but i'm nervous then i was sent how the king of el familian tate stories this is the paperback but i actually have two other editions from fairlead and owlcrate so i think i will donate this because i definitely don't need three copies but this is so pretty if you haven't seen this like stunning illustrations throughout and i've already read it loved it the lighting is going no thank you okay i need to turn on another light i think okay i've already read this and talked about it but i got mean and they aren't dead and this was a vampire story that was super fun super easy to read and super quick to read i need more vampire stories thank you then i was sent house of holo and this is supposed to be really good i've heard really good things about it i forgot what it's about but i'm pretty sure it's queer it's fantasy i think it's supposed to be dark and deliciously twisted if you're here for the like detailed synopsis i'm sorry like i usually don't like to know like heaps about a book before i read it obviously i just know key things about it i pick it up and then i see for myself okay now i'm going to move on to books that were gifted to me from my friends so first i have normal people by sally rooney i talked about this in my new zealand vlog so i'm not going to go too much in depth and i'm going to read it this weekend for the romance readathon but caitlyn gave this to me and she wrote me this most stunning note in the front so i will always cherish the book even if i don't like it but of course i think i'm gonna like it so very excited it's basically a romance between two people thank you it's supposed to also be like sad though so i'm ready for that then caitlyn also got me a grand union and warlight and i'm not going to talk too much about these because this was part of the video that we did on jamie's channel where we bought each other book so we already talked about it there i'll have that linked above but that was such a fun video and these are such good pics that caitlin got for me and for that video jamie also got me in real life which is a stunning graphic novel that i've had my eye on for ages now and sun signs by linda goodman which i'm really excited to read then kevin for my birthday got me the black flamingo by dean otter and i've already read this this is a stunning contemporary novel actually it's like random verse but it is such a stunning book like absolutely loved it listen to the audiobook highly recommend the audiobook and it's basically just like a coming of age story but it's stunning one of my favorite books of last year thank you i'm so happy to have the physical copy now and the cover is just stunning we love to see stunning black boys and covers and this pink is also just stunning so yeah also it's quite interesting because it's like really short hardcover oh exactly the feathers and it's also really pretty throughout so i definitely want to reread it and annotate it and stuff so thank you kevin and for my birthday which by the way was in december obviously i haven't found the book haul that's why i'm talking about it now but i got these four volumes of fullmetal alchemist and these are the stunning full metal editions so i love them so i got to volume six volume seven volume eight and volume nine so i need to read these a say p if you don't know i love this series and i'm so happy to own these stunning editions they're just literally so cool like are you kidding okay so now i'm going to talk about other books that i bought myself so the first is this stunning book and this is classic works from women writers and this is the canterbury classics edition and i actually saw this at costco and it was so cool because my friend jody from vanilla moon she texted me and katelyn were like oh my gosh i think you guys will love this like how pretty is it and i was like excuse me what the hell is that i need it and then i literally saw it at costco and it was a really good price and i was like exactly so i got it and it's just so pretty like look at that oh exactly women riders and it has gold edges oh exactly one of the stories is frankenstein exactly very happy to have this and then i got the secret history by donna tartt which is jamie's favorite book and obviously jamie's my best friend so i want to read my friend's favorite books so definitely need to read this and jamie and caitlyn have said that i'm probably gonna love it so i'm very excited and it's like dark academia i'm a little bit nervous because you know i think the first chapter is like 60 pages and i hate long chapters hopefully i'll be worth it okay then i got the right swipe which i've already talked about in my romance readathon vlog i loved this book this is an adult romance and it was stunning smarty thank you and i love the cover and if you don't know it's basically about two people who meet on a dating app and then like they sleep together then they ghost each other and then they find out why they go see each other and it's just stunning and they obviously reconnect okay then i have two horror fantasy books which is really exciting because i haven't really heard of too many horror fantasy books and i saw someone talking about i think it was riley marie and i was like oh so i got two books that are horror fantasy so i have the twisted ones and i don't know what it's about but i don't really want to know i just want to read it and save myself but yes the twisted ones and the hollow places oh and these are by the same author so yeah very excited about these i really hope they're amazing because horror fantasy just sounds like everything like obviously i love those two genres so hopefully it's just gonna be an amazing time then i got this graphic novel which is the sad ghost club which i've already read it's basically just a really wholesome cute graphic novel about two ghosts who are really lonely and become friends and it was super super cute okay i'm really excited about these next two books so i got from lukov with love by mariana zapata this is an adult sports romance it's basically about these two figure skaters who like hate each other and they're forced to work together and of course you know make one love and it's just the best i've already read it i listened to the audiobook a few years ago but i loved it and i wanted the physical copy and then caitlyn read it recently in one of our readathons and she was absolutely loving it and i was like you know what i think i just need to buy it because i want to read it physically and annotate it and relive the amazingness so yep i bought the paperback and i'm so happy it's actually like a really well made paperback it's like one of those like paperbacks that are like really nice to touch and you can tell that it's like good quality so yeah super happy to have this and then i got pun57 by penelope douglas which once again i read in one of our romance readathons and i read the kindle edition and i loved it wasn't expecting to love it so i needed the physical copy because i need to reread it and annotate it and mark my favorite moments because i love it it's definitely not gonna be for everyone because it's like a dark romance definitely like a friends to hate to love as romance um but i loved it so yeah i'm very excited to re-read it honestly like i'm trying so hard not to reread it right now but also why am i depriving myself of happiness i should just reread it no so i probably will soon maybe even the second i don't know okay once again speaking of the romance readathon i read waiting for spring volume 11 so i had to get volumes 12 and 13 and this is the last volume in the series i'm very excited to see how the series ends because it feels like i've been reading the series for years and i'm really happy with how volume 11 ended so i think i'm gonna be happy with these two volumes so i'm very excited this is just a really cute romance manga and it involves basketball there's like this annoying love triangle where there's one character who literally sucks but i really like the other guy and i really love the main character so it's just a fun time and like i said i'm excited to see how it ends then i got the house in the cerulean c and this is actually my patreon book club pick for this month so we're gonna be buddy reading it on my patreon so i'm going to film like a spoiler-filled vlog and everything and discuss it with everyone there but very excited about this because this is a fantasy romance and i've literally seen like everyone who talks about this book absolutely love it and it's supposed to elicit happy tears which i'm so ready for because i love when books can make me happy cry like happy crying is just so cathartic and amazing and the best feeling very hopeful that this will make me happy cry and very hopeful that i'm going to love it because who doesn't love a nice fun fantasy romance and apparently it's a modern fairy tale about learning your true nature and what you love and will protect sweet comforting and kind exactly like it sounds like a really wholesome good time and i think it's technically middle grade but obviously like anyone can enjoy this story and i think it's also queer like i think there's a gay romance so anyway just very excited about this and speaking of my patreon book club in june we're buddy reading a diary of blood by st gibson i am so excited about this because i found out about it recently from riley marie because she read it and said it was like my favorite book of the year so far and basically it follows a bisexual main character who i believe is a vampire or she's married to a vampire anyway i know it's a vampire story and i know that there's a bisexual main character and it is a lyrical and dreamy reimagining of dracula's brides it's a story of desire obsession and emancipation and i've heard that the writing is amazing and lyrical and it's really not that long and i love a stunning short book it's 233 pages so i have high hopes for this it just sounds like everything i'm going to love so thank you speaking of vapes i also got the graphic novel fangs which i've already talked about because i read it and loved it and it's now honestly like my new favorite graphic novel it was just so funny and it's basically a love story between a vampire and a werewolf and if you love vampires and bubbles and like all that you will just love this because it's just so funny and there were so many moments where i was literally like smiling laughing i just love it okay then i got this stunning book this is the drifting classroom by kazuo umez and this is a horror manga it's apparently a classic it says out of nowhere an entire school vanishes leaving nothing but a hole in the ground while parents mourn and authorities investigate the students and teachers find themselves not dead but stranded in a terrifying wasteland where they must fight survive i heard about this ages ago and it's been on my list for a while to buy so i finally decided to get it i'm always looking for more horror manga to read so i really hope i love it even if i don't like it i really love the illustration style so i am excited and i just love like the way that this book is made it looks so cool okay then i have some books i bought in new zealand so i have kim jeong born 1982 which is supposed to just be a discussion on feminism in korea and it's supposed to be amazing i'm definitely going to read this for koreathon which is the readathon that monica and i will be hosting in august so keep your eyes peeled for that but yes very excited about this and then i got some other books by korean authors so i got some hong kong books which i've never read any books by hong kong so very excited and i got these matching editions so i got human acts the vegetarian and the white book and once again i'm going to save these for creatathon i think and then i got the island of sea women by lisa c and this follows two women and is set on jeju island and it's set during the japanese colonialism of the 1930s and 40s the second world war and the korean war so it sounds like it's going to be incredible once again i might save it for creatathon i'll read it earlier but we'll see okay so the final category is books from subscription boxes but i'm not going to show like everyone because honestly there's just too many so i think i'm just going to show the ones that i'm most excited about so i have the owlcrate and fairly editions of how the king of elf haim learned to hate stories by holly black and the fairly edition is stunning purple with gold edges and this is the owlcrate edition so freaking beautiful this is what the friendly one looks like and this is what the earthquake one looks like and the out great one also has this stunning illustration of harden i honestly don't know which one i love more they're just both absolutely stunning then i have some more holly black books so i have the cruel prince and the wicked king and these are the fairly exclusive editions so they have really cool end papers and obviously they have the stunning designs on the naked book so the cool prince has this acorn and the wicked king has this sword so excited to add this to my holly black collection honestly my holly black shelf is looking amazing especially with these books that are going to be added to it oh and then i have this stunning edition of chain of iron and this is the fairly edition oh this is just beautiful this is like definitely one of my favorite books i own in terms of the aesthetic i love black and silver and these end papers oh and then on the back it says secrets consume even the truest love it's just beautiful i absolutely adore it then i got the friendly edition of these violent delights this has stunning pink edges it has a stunning illustration on the reverse of a dust jacket and i already read this book unfortunately i didn't like love love it it was definitely good and i liked it but i thought i was gonna be obsessed with it so i was disappointed by it but it's okay it's still beautiful um and if you don't know it's a romeo and juliet retelling but honestly not really because the romance is not really at the forefront of the story it's more about like the family conflict and like the plot with the monsters and stuff but it's said in 1920s shanghai didn't absolutely love it but it was still a good time and this is the fairly edition of kingdom of the wicked and this is so pretty i love the black spray edges and then obviously this stunning design and then we have this hottie right here and we have this stunning design on the reverse of the dust jacket so i love oh of course how could i forget about that design oh it's literally stunning so if you've read this please let me know if you think i'm gonna like it because i've had mixed things sent to me so some people say like you'll hate it some people say i'm gonna love it so honestly i'm gonna give it a try because i want to like it it sounds really fun i'm pretty sure it's like a romance between like the devil and someone i'm pretty sure yeah it says two sisters one murder a quest for vengeance that will unleash hell itself so i think it should be a fun time and yeah so yeah those are the books that i'm going to talk about in this book haul obviously a lot and i'm so thankful to anyone who sent me a book like all the publishers and my friends and everything well i don't know how long this video is hopefully it's not 10 million years long but thank
