HUGE Antique Shop in a Former Factory!

hello there you're joining me on a wonderful Saturday afternoon and I'm at the town of London more precisely at the former tobacco Factory which has long since stopped manufacturing tobacco instead it's become quite a few different things but most importantly it has become an antique shop in fact it's more of an antique Hub where there's 2 200 square meters of antique selling space and 22 individual antique sellers the place is also a co-working space for small businesses it's also a museum and part of it might even become a residence for senior citizens kind of retirement home so that's a little bit of history for you but uh without further Ado let's get inside and check out the 2200 square meters of antique Glory let's go hey there Ryan from the future doing a voice over because the music in the antique shop was indeed too loud and I couldn't use it so the first thing that caught my eye is this wonderful mirror placed delicately in Flight in front of a glass Dome excuse me and Billy's telling me how amazing the antique shop is and how big it is and indeed you can see it is very big and that's just half of the shop I love the way the rugs are placed in the walkway there it really does give it a good feel now something else that caught my eye is this desk here on the right it has some amazing Market tree it's in excellent condition and I loved the Dome lid which I'm about to lift there you go now that that little booklet there is placed to stop it from locking I imagine and for 1 200 Euros you can see that it it is in very good condition unfortunately I can't see a key with it but I imagine that the key could be in one of those drawers now check out the details here on top usually uh a piece of this age the details there the brass little kind of a fencing on the top would be damaged or missing so it's good to see it intact nice leather bag there just about 65 Euros not too bad PTT unfortunately those are not my initials but if they were my initials I would buy it that's the rule I have if I see something with my initials on it I am definitely buying it again another mirror very nice intact and in great great condition it's it's nice to see things that are intact and it's nice to see things like this uh kind of picture frame there in the background with a little bit of wear as well and it's just 30 Euros so the price does reflect its wear now let's move on through this wonderful antique shop here and have a look at this that's right it's a very very beautiful trunk with some amazing brass on the front those brass latches which I love oh so dearly that look at that another huge mirror I am a fan of mirrors and you you find them quite often but you don't find them in these conditions where they are absolutely perfect usually you'll have corners missing you'll have the top missing it just comes with age you know some of them they just end up falling off with time or they get knocked while they're being moved around but uh something I liked about this antique shop is that you do have a lot of victory in a lot of display cabinets with some small things inside so if those people if you have people who enjoy rummaging you can have a nice rummage and you can see here I was enjoying touching that wonderful leather footy there very nice indeed very comfortable as well they are and of course there's a little bit of copper because every antique shop has a fair bit of copper there's a true more mirror there again very nice indeed [Music] see here another display cabinet with what appears to be some some wall Medals of some sort I think there's plenty of other medals kind of mixed in that's what you tend to find in antique shops is that you'll have all different things mixed in with different medals different War medals can be mixed in with random sport medals yeah you really do have to rummage to to find what you're looking for and that's part of the fun of antique shopping here in France you don't know what you're gonna find when you're having a little rummage and to be honest even the antique sellers don't know what you're going to find half the time they tend to have so much stock that they forget what they have in their display cabinets or boxes I do like this display cabinet it's very well displayed and there are plenty of things to joy to look at to admire [Music] so at this point I'm just looking around I've completely lost Billy I have no idea where he is but I am still very impressed by the different things that I'm coming across in this shop it uh really does make a difference from usual antique shops that you go in and it's just one antique seller so having 22 sellers does change things up a bit and you don't know what you're going to find that that makes it a little bit more exciting yes I was admiring the silverware here I I'm not quite sure if it's solid silver it does look like silver plate to me but uh then again I am certainly no expert when it comes to Precious Metals so it could well be solid silver who knows oh and of course I found another little desk that I really like I think this is like a makeup desk like a you know something you'd have in the bedroom and I tried to open it here but because I was holding the the heavy camera I didn't manage to and I didn't want to risk breaking the lovely desk so I thought I'd just admire it from a distance and so I did [Music] what you think of that wonderful portrait you don't see that every day usually you see them in a much more kind of calm way but look at this wonderful Como do you know I love a komod you don't usually see them with the kind of circular details there on the front so that makes a difference and I love the pattern of the market tree very nice indeed and this commode is 900 euros but uh I certainly haven't seen one of this style before so yeah I would say that's well worth the money foreign I couldn't help but admire that wonderful clock beautiful look at that with the gentleman on top I think he's with a dog or two and here you can see this seller has a unique style wonderful wonderful chic furniture that they have carefully and lovingly repainted so that was quite nice now we're making our way into the second half of the antique shop here oh but look at that wonderful little giridon table there that was quite nice about 250 euros I think that was again what a lovely mirror a true more mirror they call that very nice indeed true more because of the um the painting on top there it is what is that a couple of cherubs beautiful [Music] and who would have thought that an old tobacco Factory would be the perfect setting for a huge antique shop and take a look at this wonderful bathtub here with the uh the Lion's feet you don't see those every day they are quite sorto after so I imagine that will sell quite soon I wish I could see the building that that came out of and here the wonderful Billy is telling me that this area is unfortunately closed but we can admire it from a distance nonetheless perhaps the seller isn't selling at the moment or is away so he doesn't want anyone selling on his behalf but he does have some nice things I do particularly like that desk there with lots of different knickknacks on top of it [Music] nice clock there beautiful little clock foreign [Music] ize for the shaky camera everyone it was a very hot day and I wouldn't expect to be stopping off so yeah I had to make it quick because it was a busy day as well this uh this Saturday and uh yes I I like this table very much because as you can see there's a gap which means you can pull the table out and extend it by putting planks in the middle to make it more of a dining table and look at that the dogs at the bottom there so this is more of like a kind of a table that would be in a very nice hunting lodge um very Grand hunting lodge at that and again another nice mirror but look at what Billy and I found here while Billy actually found it I'll be honest with you it's a another trunk but in this trunk you have various compartments which are very small and I've never seen this before and Billy and I have come across many many Trunks and this is the first time seeing this so someone has intricate designed some kind of shelving system in this old trunk and the trunk is indeed very old there you can see the canvas with the kind of pattern on the material very nice very nice indeed [Music] I was admiring it for quite a while I'll be honest with you no brass on this trunk though no brass and check out this beautiful double bed here with the red velug I also love the color of the wood and it's quite distressed looking the wood that is but unfortunately I don't know if you can see um just below the wood there are kind of stains there so I would say the material needs changing on this bed but that's not really an issue you can easily change this by removing those little tacks there their little brass tacks you you remove them remove the material put new material and replace the brass tacks and it will look 10 times better I also like the two chairs here the pair of green leather chairs they look wonderful and then look at this incredible mirror that you certainly don't see every day this would be perfect for inside Chateau De La Familia Billy's Chateau because he has a fireplace with this kind of head on it as well and uh yes it's very imposing indeed but I absolutely love it I think it's a wonderful piece in perfect condition I highly highly highly recommend Billy buys that but unfortunately he didn't because we wouldn't be able to fit it in the car sadly and there is another piece well there's an old bathtub there and here is a nice little sink nice Style but the piece that I really want to show you oh wait for it wait for it there is that a baby chair I think that's a baby's chair a high chair we call it of course but you do put a baby in it I certainly wouldn't fit in that my derriere would destroy that chair in no time but this piece reminds me of the mirror that we just saw so it makes me think that maybe this came from the same building probably from a shuttle and look at the faces in this one as well incredible I'm 90 sure this came from the same building as the uh the mirror and it's incredibly tall so that mirror that we saw was about six foot four six foot five and this piece must be at least eight nine foot tall so it can't fit in any regular house it has to be so it has to be an imposing building to fit in there look at this wonderful rocking horse it had a a sticker on its head saying do not touch because it would well it looked like it was ready to fall apart to be honest and I do love this desk here very nice indeed with the lever in the middle I would love to have a desk like this one day but um they're quite heavy and not necessarily practical uh oh I remember this wonderful in perfect condition I love the brass on it I love the shape on it with the curved glass and the curved wood and I even put some lovely little photo frames in there beautiful beautiful piece even down to the details at the very bottom yeah the brass little feet there that looks wonderful and it's in perfect condition and I love the red inside as well let's try and open it up and you have indeed got red material inside as well just to top it off very nice and to finish things off we saw one last trunk but this trunk has been stripped inside and painted on the outside so there's canvas on the front which has been painted gray and the top has also been painted as well
