by, very honored by. Demi Lovato. Incredible vocal performance
that she gave in, in covering that. So it's like if the medium of your work is then somebody else's body, is in their throat, that's something else. Like, that's a serious thing. Problem. (clock ticking)

singing that with Maren. I was quite taken with just how, the beautiful
sentiment to that song. And it's a gorgeous melody to it. And I think Maren is an
artist of great respect and admiration for her kind
of moral courage as well too and I've great kinship
with much of her work. So it was, it felt really, really it felt good to sing with her on that. Side. (laughs)
(clock ticking) I went back to Ariana Grande again. (vocalizing) ♪ You got me ♪ ♪ Walking side to side ♪
(bell chimes) That's a vocal run. That's a challenge. And I'm not prepared to do
it here in, at full speed but that's what comes to mind right now. Yeah. I love her music. Yeah. I think she's a, I think she's an excellent
pop artist. I really do. I think she's incredibly talented. I think every time I
hear her sing, I'm, I'm I'm reminded of just how fucking talented, excuse my French, Ariana Grande is. Yeah. You know. Story. Um.
(clock ticking) What comes to mind is, is Brandi Carlisle. ♪ All of these lines across my face ♪ ♪ Tell you the story ♪ (bell chimes)
♪ Of who I am ♪ (humming the rest) That's just one of Brandy's masterpieces. That's a fucking masterpiece of a song. And melodically, it's
really like enchanting. That's a song you hear and you're like, oh that's why I'm a musician. You know? That's why, is in the hope that you can
make something as beautiful as what Brandy made in
that, in that recording. When we were, I was
writing Damage Gets Done, I, I knew I wanted to be two voices and kind of swing at these
notes that were reminiscent of like old power ballads
and there's very few voices like Brandy that can soar like that. And so she very kindly found time in her incredibly busy schedule
to record vocals for it. It's amazing. Talk. I, I have a song called Talk
