so it's 2024 and you want to learn blender and in this video I collected a bunch of YouTube channels in every single category that you're going to want to watch if you want to get good at blender this year now there are two ways to learn blender you can either do it for free on YouTube or you can pay for some courses so for each category I'm going to be showing you some YouTube channels that are great to subscribe to along with a course if you want to invest in your learning so with that being said let's get into it all right so if you are starting from scratch I think the best one right now is CG cookie series that they just uploaded they've been uploading it for a couple weeks now and it is a very detailed very highquality start guide um I'm not even going to recommend a paid course I think there's really no point in paying for a start guide course cuz there's so many from this one from CG cookie to blender Guru to CG FasTrack so there's so much here on YouTube definitely save that money for the next course all right now modeling uh the first one is polygon Runway he has so much cont content here on YouTube if you're really into watching kind of long scene breakdown videos which are Super beneficial especially when you're starting out he's the channel also he has some really great uh shorter tutorials for you to learn a lot of different modeling techniques now Josh granbell is probably the definitive hard surface channel here on YouTube he has a lot of really cool quick tip like quality of life modeling tutorials as well as full model tutorials from scratch to finishing a really cool hard surface piece really really cool channel to subscribe to now for courses the 3D cars modeling course is probably the best one that I found when I was doing my research it is a lot of content you're making an interior you're making an exterior for a car you're doing shading you're doing the compositing all the rendering and you're making really cool superar looking modeling lots of hard surface things but that type of modeling is transferable to pretty much every modeling that you're going to be doing with whatever you want to do really great course here all right Motion Graphics uh the first one is cross mind Studio last year I actually got yelled at for not mentioning this Channel and I feel bad because this channel is incredible and he isn't just Motion Graphics he's kind of an everything Channel but he has so much content for Motion Graphics I had to add him into this category really great channel here the next channel is my channel I am a Motion Graphics Channel I am obsessed with the topic I love it it's what I've always done I really love abstract looping animation so you're learning lot lots of Loops um most of my tutorials start from scratch to making a really beautiful Motion Graphics animation I really love to teach this topic and lots of really cool stuff on my channel so feel free to subscribe to me and for the Motion Graphics course is my course today I just launched a major update to my course I released 2 years ago updated it for blender 4.0 and added tons of geometry nodes lessons tons of shading I went from six lessons to 14 lessons 7 hours of content lots of stuff I spent several months on this course course and you are going to be learning so many tips and tricks to help you make incredible Motion Graphics again shading lighting geometry nodes looping all of this stuff in that course and it's 25% off for the next two weeks if you're watching this video on the day I released it feel free to check that out now procedural materials shading uh Ryan King is the definitive channel for this on YouTube and I don't even have a second Channel he's just the only Channel I'm recommending here uh because he is still upload really high quality procedural material tutorials a wide range of different surfaces and materials and stuff like that great channel to subscribe to for courses CG Masters has a course that I personally watched and it is very detailed you're making several different materials that are going to teach you really everything you need to know about procedural materials lots of vector math stuff which really allows you to do anything you want so much in this course very detailed very high quality check that one out all right character creation character animation uh the first one is Southern shotty not only is he a friend of mine but also the channel is just awesome I have personally benefited from watching his content I don't do a lot of character stuff but when I want to learn it I go to his channel he has things like character creation lots of rigging lots of quick tips and keep an eye on his channel cuz he's releasing a short film pretty soon and it's really good you're going to want to keep your eye out for that now I'm going to mention cross mind Studio one more time cuz he just released a series here on YouTube which you don't really see too often but he released a series on creating a character from scratch to rigging it to shading it and all that fun stuff it looks pretty good and anything cross mind makes is very high quality now for courses is the alive character animation course this one sparked a lot of buzz when it came out and for good reason it's 28 hours of content on how to create very professionall looking character animations everything that comes with making really really nice looking movements that's the course all right sculpting so the first one is going to be Yan sculpts check out his channel he has just a mountain of content about sculpting here on YouTube might even be the only Channel you need and has so much training here on YouTube so check out his channel now the next one is Grant Abbot another YouTube tutorial OG uh he doesn't just have sculpting he also has a lot of modeling tutorials but he has so much content about sculpting on his channel I wanted to add him in really valuable Channel really great guy all right for courses is human this course I'll say is probably the one of the most impressive courses I've seen come out in my time of being on YouTube and watching courses and things like that it is 25 hours of training on how to create realistic portraits only in blender we're not going outside of blender for this course it is I mean 25 hours that's crazy um but so much content incredibly valuable um people love this course haven't heard a bad thing about it and it's just incredible the guy who made it spent 2 years on this course I've never really seen anyone do that here in the blender community so shout out to this course I can't say enough good things about it it is incredible and definitely the best sculpting course here now for lighting I couldn't really find a channel that has lighting as either like a big Focus or significant focus on the channel but creative shrimp has a course called cinematic Lighting in blender and it is taught by glb alexandr which anything that he makes is high quality and definitely worth watching and buying and getting into this course is going to teach you of course cinematic lighting techniques I've personally watched it I love it so much to get from this course so check that one out all right so for environments I think right now the best channel is Max Haye he had a really great year this year on YouTube and that's because his content is very very high quality now if you want to learn about how to create environments his channel has larger walkthroughs quick tips that really help you kind of get better incrementally with learning how to make environments but he is the environment guy here on YouTube and I absolutely love his content and then for courses we're still staying on the max hey topic he released a course that is just awesome I've seen a lot of the students that followed the course and what they've posted from the course and it's just incredible what they've come up with so if you want to check out his course want to check out his channel Max Haye is the environment guy pretty pumped to see what he's going to make this year so now product animation is Derek Elliot I just love his channel I love the way he teaches and if you want to learn product animation he has a lot of videos on the topic and what I love about his videos is not only are they very valuable in terms of the content inside of it but they're very well edited he's got a great sense of humor in these videos lots of really cool things and he's honestly probably one of my top five favorite blender channels to watch in terms of like all of the categories I just love his videos incredibly valuable and some of his videos are pretty long so there is just so much to learn honestly some of his videos are courses um but yeah check out Derrick Elliot now for a product animation course uh SME has a really cool course you're going to learn 3D modeling product lighting animation texturing and a lot of other things within this course it is such a valuable course I love it I love SME everything SME makes is high quality including this course so check that one out now this is kind of a bigger category and it's just videos that either kind of General topic videos where I couldn't really fit it in a category or channels that I just simply had a lot of fun watching again not super specific just had a great time these channels are really I would say are for everybody so let's talk about them the first one is Curtis Hol if there is a blender update that just came out or is going to come out he makes videos about them and I love the way he not only explains things but he really comes from a place of well researched he didn't just look at it really quick and pop out a video his video is very intentional he also has a lot of discussion type videos and breakdowns that are super beneficial I really love Curtis Holt's Channel now the next one if you're in the blender Community you probably already know him it's poly Fjord the way I would describe his channel is just videos about really cool ideas it seems very evident that he just makes videos about what is interesting to him and then he goes all right let's make a really cool video about this um his channel is just so great I have had so much fun just watching every single upload the blender Community really loves him and it's for good reason and his videos are high quality super interesting and you can definitely apply those things that you're watching to your own work now stash is a fun Channel I found him this year and I'm so glad I did so many beneficial videos on his channel I would say that his channel is one of those channels that's Geared for everybody videos about photo realism quick tips add-ons all of this stuff it's kind of a mix of a lot of things that really anybody can benefit if you're using blender or you want to learn blender I really love the way he makes his videos really fun really entertaining and I just love it SME is one of those channels that if you are a blender user you're just going to have fun watching his videos I love his videos um lots of just like hey here's a cool idea let's make an entertaining video about it you're going to learn something you're going to have fun watching it I even have a cameo in one of his videos where he made an ad in 24 hours and I had to guess like which one was his ad and which one was a different one very entertaining his videos are well edited well paced actually genuinely high quality content there and I love it Kaizen is one of those channels that is going to teach you some really valuable Concepts while being entertaining at the same time what's great about them is you don't really need to be sitting at your computer to really learn and follow along from his videos which is so valuable cuz sometimes I'm sitting in bed or sitting on the couch or just waiting for something to upload and I just want to watch an educational video that's also interesting and entertaining and Kaizen is that guy so definitely subscribe to his channel geometry nodes uh if you want to learn geometry nodes and have a channel that's really great to binge it's definitely default Cube his videos are super detailed a very wide range of techniques within blender uh this one I'm showing right now is just so cool he's using simulations for this so if you're interested in simulation nodes he's got some really great videos for that and the next one is aarondale aarondale is just I don't know how he knows all this but he knows so much about geometry nodes has a great YouTube channel um definitely check out his Twitter he posts a lot of really cool projects that he's working on within geometry no very much a Geon noes wiiz um definitely a cool Channel there in terms of courses I did a bit of research I couldn't really find a updated for blender 4.0 a relatively new course a lot of the geometry nodes courses are for the older version if you are just stepping foot within geometry nodes my course the Motion Graphics course has quite a bit of geometry noes stuff in there so you can definitely check it out there but still waiting on like a dedicated big geometry nodes course to come out so if you are interested in making something like that definitely there's a spot open for it and these are the honorable mentions I I mean half of these I feel bad for not like highlighting but there's just so many channels here in the blender community so definitely check out all of these channels what I would do is go in the description and just like spam subscribe to every single one of these and that's it that is how to learn blender in 2024 definitely just do a lot of binging that's the way I learned Motion Graphics here in blender and I'm thinking about making a video sort of like my journey and how I learned mograph um but yeah definitely just do a lot of binging a lot of sitting if you're kind of starting from scratch today uh but with that being said feel free to subscribe to my channel thanks for watching and I will see you in the next one
