That raises some good questions. After they settle in for good, will they be the first Martians? 👽
Wouldn't one way of getting around the bone density problem on Mars just be to wear heavy clothing? I mean if we were walking around with the equivalent of our body weight on us at all times it should be fine no?
We will have control of are genetics by 2100, superseding natural selection for space travelers
What would be the selection mechanism that would differ on Mars that would enable some people to have more offspring than someone else? Is lower gravity going to change what we find attractive in a mate, probably not. So unless something on Mars dramatically changes survival rates (like low G causes miscarriages for fetuses with Blue eyes) or reproduction rates there probably won't be much evolution difference compared to Earth. Secondly unless the Mars population gets cut off from Earth there will likely be so much exchange of genetic information that there won't be much divergence.
