How to wear cropped pants if you have short legs (like me)

[Music] hello there my beautiful darling if you have shorter legs like me i am five too it's very tempting for us to think that crab pants are easier because all the other pants we have to send them to taylor to chop them off and fit our legs however every time i wear crop pants i notice my legs look even shorter the reason is because our legs are only as long as the inseam of the pants so when we're wearing crab pants that's sending a signal to the eye that our legs are shortened but don't worry there are ways to make them work i'm gonna pull up all my tricks from my sleeves oh i forgot i was not wearing sleeves today but my cheeks are just as good how to make crab pants look flattering on you even if you have short legs like me do not cut your body in half like this if your pants are shorter and if you are wearing a longer top a shirt or blouse like this your body is divided into 50 50. you might be thinking gee this looks fine to me it does not look bad most of us wear like this all the time myself included however you can do so much better like this the same pants the same color combination the only thing that has changed is the body proportion now it looks like my top is a third or less of my body but my bottom is two thirds or longer not only this makes your legs look much longer immediately but also this is much more pleasant ratio to the eye this is called the rule pants so make sure you watch this video as well this is a crop top this is too short for you don't worry you can go longer you can wear a shorter top but they don't have to be cropped like this one this is hitting your belly button and under everything is covered this still works with the rule of thirds go with slim fit if you have short legs like me generally anything fitted looks much better on us because we have shorter frame to work with so you don't want to add any bulkiness to our frame especially true when it comes to craft pants because the crop lens is already reducing the length of our legs on top of that if you add a lot of volume such as the backing pants it's just not gonna work slouchy pants are very popular it has that relaxed feel i get it it's comfortable however if there's too much volume it's only gonna overwhelm a short person we're much better off with paints that are fitted fitted doesn't mean it has to be tight we don't want it to be skin tight in the summer so look for the pants that have some legroom not too slouchy not all the crab pants are created equal some will look better on you than others because of their lens wherever the hem of the pants ends that's where the eye is going to be paying attention to so you want it to ideally be ending at the narrowest part of your legs that's why most of my cropped pants are only one or two inches above my ankles because that's the narrowest part of my legs i have found that most flattering this is especially important if you happen to have white calves some of you mentioned that you have muscular calves in that case you want to make sure your pants is not ending right at the widest part of your calves you want it to be a little longer at least below the widest part of your calves that is gonna look more flattering on you skin color pants or shorts are my favorite they're super flattering for someone who is short the reason is because the color of your pants can blend with the color of your skin when you're wearing cropped pants they are going to make your legs look shorter however if your craft pants or skin color that's going to make it much difficult for the eye to notice that it works especially well if you like shorter crop pants it's going to make your legs look much less cut off when you wear skin color pants another benefit they are also very versatile they can go casual or dressy and you can totally wear them for the office outfits traditionally khaki pants are associated with office i like to top it off with a camisole in the summer and this can be a day night outfit after work when you go to office just put on your blazer both the pants and the blazers are from in taylor the shoes you wear are super important especially if you're wearing cropped pants cropland pants because you're reducing your leg lenses you want to wear the best shoes to elongate your legs and add those extra inches back if you are wearing crap pants for the office i have found the most leg elongating shoes are the pointed toe pumps or the pointy toe slides like this even though it's only one to two inches difference on the toe shape it makes a whole world of difference they work especially well when you are wearing cropped pants to elongate your legs if you are wearing crap pants for casual outfits anything nude color for your shoes are super flattering i love new color sandals these can totally make your feet look like they're an extension of your legs that's why they can totally counterbalance the cutoff effect if you don't like heels for some reason you cannot wear heels go with nude colored flats or flat sandals this can still elongate your legs compared with flats of other colors wear the same color top this is one of my favorite ways to dress as a short girl it always works every time when you wear a same color top and the bottom it's going to create a longer line for your body it's extremely flattering for someone who is short and this is especially important when you are wearing ankle lens crop lens pants because the pants are shorter it's reducing the length of your frame on someone who is already short so the best the easiest way to counterbalance that is to wear a monochrome outfit that means your top and the bottom are very similar colors in the summer i love all white monochrome look but of course you can also do all black both are the easiest options to do this but you don't have to there are so many other ways you can do this as well and your top and your bottom doesn't have to be magic magic exactly the same color as long as they're from the same color family it can serve the same purpose to create a longer unbroken line for your body and counterbalance the cut-off effect of your crappy ends white leg crap pins have been super on trend for a number of years now generally speaking i don't think that's the easiest pants to wear if you have shorter legs like me because anything wild like they have so much volume and because they're shorter they can form that horizontal line somewhere on your calves that is not the most leggy elongating lens in fact they're very easy to make our legs look cut off however some of you mentioned that you do love wet leg pants and especially in the summer you would like your pants to be a little shorter i totally understand that in order to make it to work on someone who has shorter legs you want to go with the pants that's skin color and that will make it the kind of effect of the pants less noticeable the monochrome tips i shared earlier the same color top and bottom to counterbalance that go high rise since the crop pant is reducing your leg length you want to add it back by going with a higher wisdom pants almost all my pants are high waist i just found them most comfortable i have a couple of meat rice pans here and there but high rise i think is always the most flattering on someone with shorter legs the reason is because it's extending above your natural waistline so that's going to create the illusion for the eye that your legs look longer than they actually are the only caveat here is that if you happen to have bigger boobs you want to be careful with super high rise pants such as a paper bag pants because our goal is to reduce the length of her torso and therefore elongate our legs but you don't want to make your torso look like it has disappeared if you have big boobs your boobs are already taking up a lot of space on your torso so you don't want your pants to be too high waisted and make it look like you have no torso at all if you have short legs like me it's also very tempting to think that shorts should be really easy for us because much like the cropped hands shorts always fit us we never have to hand them that is true however when we're wearing shorts they actually are much more likely to expose our short legs compared with skirts because when you're wearing skirts you are covering up your leg brakes it's very hard for the eye to tell where exactly your leg starts but with shorts it's a different story so that doesn't mean that we should stay away from shorts in the summer i love shorts what are the best
