howdy y'all my name is brenton halferton miss trender don't worry the mystery on the tribe and today i wanted to talk to you all about pvp now warrior is a very strong class and they're pretty strong in pvp as well pvp warrior is gonna be mainly using a two-hander i've got deep thunder equipped you can craft that using blacksmithing being a hammersmith it is rather expensive to level up blacksmithing maybe the most expensive profession so you better do the work farm bunch of stuff for me i tanked a bunch of blackwing layer gdkps back in the end of vanilla and i saved a bunch of gold to be able to afford epic flying and stuff but you can mine you can make some eternium and adamantite and fell iron bronze that's a consistent source of income from your blacksmithing and then if you're a tank a lot of times people will pay a tank to tank a heroic so there are a bunch of different ways so you can make money as a warrior we're not the best farming class but there are ways that you can make ends meet so going into a battleground pvp as a warrior you're a big physical damage dealer who does really well with support so you don't have very much self heal if you have a healer with you you can really thrive and kick a lot of ass as i'm going into these fights i'm just hamstring in these targets keeping them slowed and druids they change form so i just rehamstring using my mortal strikes my main damaging ability reduces the healing on that target trying to stay behind the target when i can to avoid getting parried better chances of getting hits and i have the insignia of the horde or medallion whatever it's called that's 8 000 honor you can get that it has 20 resilience on it two minute cooldown and it breaks immobilize in anything that causes the loss of control of your character must have for pvp i've got a mixture of some tank gear and some dps gear on in my guild i'm a tank so i get main spec pryo on tank gear not on dps warrior gear but use what you got it's not that bad to have more stamina more health as a tank so don't worry too much about it if maybe you've got some heavy stamina pieces on instead of all damage gear another piece that's pretty crucial for my gear is i have some disarm protection gloves reduces the duration of disarm effects by a bit and then another aspect just big picture wise for battlegrounds is to know what the objective is in this warsong gulch you've got to capture the flag they're trying to take our flag we're trying to take their flag and what i really want to do is just get the flag carrier down and i'm going to be spam right clicking that flag as they're about to die look at the mouse see that i clicked it and i returned the flag it's a bit of a reaction speed test because the enemy team can also pick it up after their party member or raid member dies so you want to be quick on the draw there and you're just going to be dealing tons of damage once you've got a good weapon which is a big part of being a successful warrior you can just slap people and you want to have a good sense of which targets are good for you to focus on first so generally think about is this target squishy or are they really high armor in this case we're attacking a red paladin they're fairly high armor but not so much so that you don't need to attack them but here we see the bubble go off on them so i'll switch to another target because i can't do any damage to the paladin and as i'm taking heavy damage here i have a macro that allows me to put on sword and board and then i went defensive stance and i intervene one of my allies to get away from whatever is attacking me so the healers can catch up get some heels on me being a skilled warrior means you know how to utilize all three stances i know a lot of people back in vanilla they were just fury warriors and they were parse gods and they just love to deal damage but you put them in defensive stance and that's like a fish out of water you should be able to do all three using all three stances as a warrior is absolutely vital to being able to stay alive support your team and take out the enemy team battle stance for fighting rogues you can overpower which if you're expecting that it's going to crit a lot of the time you can also get your bleeds off with rend just to make sure they can't rest too fast you've got your berserker stance for your intercept mid combat you can charge to enemies and then you've got your defensive stance to reduce damage taken and intervene to allies either to take the edge off the damage they're about to receive intervene absorbs the next source of damage that they were going to take and it puts it on you the warrior so it's a really good tool to just take a little bit of heat off the healer and a lot of times you can use it as your own escape maybe the healer doesn't need to be intervened for their benefit but you can use that to get out of a bad situation and it only costs 10 rage so even if you don't have talent points and tactical mastery if you've got 10 rage flip a d stance and then just intervene to your ally another cool trick about intervene i'm going to be spam clicking this flag again here got the flag return again another cool trick about intervene is if you're targeting an enemy say i'm targeting this warlock here and the warlock is targeting say an ally druid i can be targeting the warlock and i just hit intervene and if my ally is in range of me correctly for intervene between 8 and 25 yards it will just intervene to the target of the warlock i don't have to find the bar where the druid is and then click the druid and then intervene them i can do that but i can also just intervene whatever is attacking my ally intervene goes to an ally every time even if you're selecting an enemy if you select an enemy for intervene you go to the ally of yours that the enemy is targeting checking the map to see where the flag progress is hunters are pretty nice to fight whenever they don't have the beastial wrath up didn't cast their trap on you fortunately there was a serpent sting broke me out yeah you should be able to slap a blappa hunters no problem whenever i'm doing arenas if a hunter is doing beastial wrath and whatnot i'll generally focus somebody else until it's over and then i'll switch onto the hunter it's a pretty night and day difference in how effectively you can mess up a hunter's day whether or not they have that up another really really crucial aspect of being strong in pvp and being fast is having a good hotkey setup if you want to be able to use the right ability at the right moment you can't be moving your mouse around the computer and figure out what you need to click next you should be able to hit the buttons fast so if you look at my bars right now mortal strike it's on e and you see that's a macro it says ms one thing that i did with my mortal strike is i put an equip macro where it equips my mace deep thunder every time i want a mortal strike because sometimes i found myself going into defensive stance to spell reflect and then i would have to hit the two-handed macro again to equip my two-hander and then i would have to hit mortal strike again to be able to start dealing damage with it so just by hitting my main damage ability it equips my mace because i don't really want a mortal strike with thunder fury when i have that amount of rage i might as well just mortal strike with a two-hander so that's a nice macro i use if you see the shift s that's a spell reflect macro all that is is cast defensive stance slash cast space defensive space stance written like that and then slash equip whatever your shield is i have the shield of impenetrable darkness off of nightbane and then slash equip thunder fairy bless the blade of the windseeker slash cast spell reflect and that way you can just spam that one button and it does all that for you and you get to the the point of spell reflecting much faster than if you had to hit for me it's four for defensive stance shift t sword and board and then shift s for spell reflect i can just hit one thing you may need to press it multiple times though in terms of shouts you do have a decision making factor here between challenging shout and battle shout challenging shout is really nice whether it's a melee in your party or ranged or whatever everyone could use a little bit more health so in pvp i tend to favor commanding shout if you're in a melee cleave or something of course you could battle shout and get tons of value out of that but what else do we got going on you can't use your big cool downs in arena that's something to get used to you can't use recklessness retaliation or shield wall but you can use death wish and short cooldowns shamans can use bloodlust and that kind of thing one thing that you should also assess too is which abilities are you spamming with your hotkeys and how easy is it to push those buttons i've heard from some people that they're they're playing their class and they're trying to play really fast and stuff and maybe you're pvping for quite a few hours and your hand starts to get tired but if you think about people pressing like three four five they're like spamming six or some button that's really far away that's gonna wear you out so think about where your hand is on the keyboard wasd and which keys are easy to press e for me is super easy to press so i put my main ability on e i'll show you my talent spec here so i've got five points in deflection so i can parry a bunch of stuff rend i only really use this against rogues so i don't really need more damage in that circumstance in peroic is not bad and i wouldn't argue against that that would be more of a damage emphasis this is more of a survival emphasis against physical and then iron will resisting sun and charm effects this is amazing imp charge is not bad you get a bit of rage but a lot of times in pvp you're in combat so you can't charge if thunderclap this is more of a pve talent improved overpower this is amazing really good at cleaning up rogues anger management is just nice rage income deep wounds is also really good against any class that can go into stealth because it keeps them out for 12 seconds impale increases your damage by a whole lot i have five out of five two-handed weapon spec so this mace hits super hard death wish nice damage boost bear in mind it does make you more vulnerable to damage taken so you can use this and as the name uh suggests you can kind of yourself by using this at a bad time when you're getting focused may spec the stun is ridiculous and this stun also stacks with the stun proc on deep thunder improved hamstring really good for lockdown chase proved intercept is just amazing for staying on top of your target i put one point in blood frenzy here just to get a two percent more damage whenever something's bleeding mortal strike second wind this is amazing been waiting all vanilla for this talent improve mortal strike so i can use it more often and it hits harder and endless rage for more rage income fury tree i went for cruelty crate is always nice booming voice this is to catch rogues and any stealth classes that are around as a fun note torn have a larger shout radius than other people so we have even more of a booming voice and then blood craze is nice for survivability three percent health on a big warrior is fantastic and then piercing howl is really good it's within 10 yards so it's a bit further than melee range so if you're just at a range and you can't quite hamstring or if you're in a circumstance where say there are two enemies like this i can piercing howl both of them instead of hamstringing and then the protection tree i just got three points in tactical mastery so pretty good spec there are quite a few different specs you could go for in pvp that would be valid and strong some people go for this weapon mastery and they go for sweeping strikes and enrage at the cost of this and this and maybe a point here there so you can sacrifice some of the deep arms talents for these talents here if you wanted to and you might also need to sacrifice this if you want to do that i did try out that build a little bit and i'm just trying out this build for now as a note whenever you respect like this and you're decently geared you can still tank so if people ask you hey can you tank a regular dungeon you can do that and i did that with the two-hander equipped for most pulls so it's not too bad you don't need to necessarily give up pvp entirely whenever your pve spec it's just going to be a little bit less convenient than if you were deep prod or something like that well i just wanted to give you all a quick overview of some of the basics of warrior pvp if you have any questions or maybe share some of your own tips and tricks down in the comments i'll be happy to hear about that for me brunt stay safe don't forget to repair before you leave town and ancestors watch over you
