How To Use SHAPE LAYER MASKS the RIGHT WAY in PREMIERE PRO 2023

here's a Premiere Pro trick that you may not know about so let's say we have some text in our timeline we can select it here go up to Essentials graphic we see that we have text indeed we can take our rectangle tool create a rectangle over our text that we're going to use as a mask we can rename that to mask and now we can select mask with shape make sure that's checked and if we hit invert we see indeed we are masking our text now we'll go up to effects control we have this text property box here we'll set a keyframe for position at the start of our animation move maybe 10 frames ahead set another one go back to the beginning reposition our text so that it can get revealed from behind the shape mask
