all right in this video we'll learn to transfer Microsoft authenticator to a new phone before we begin you must know that Microsoft authenticator only supports Android to Android and iOS to iOS transfer so if you want iOS to Android or vice versa you must do that manually we'll cover Android first and then move to iOS this is my Android phone with some of the accounts to transfer those codes we must enable backup we can do that by going to settings you will see this option you can also go to settings and enable the backup from here however before you do that you must have a Microsoft account like I have one here to add a Microsoft account tap on this plus icon here choose the personal option and sign in with your account after that you will see your Microsoft account here next enable the backup in the settings once the backup is enabled you will see the backup email here in the cloud backup option enabled now we'll move to the other phone this is my other Android phone we'll recover the codes on this phone install the Microsoft authenticator app and open it accept those options here until you reach this screen here you will notice this restore from backup option tap on it on this screen you must sign in with the same Microsoft account if you already have the app open you can add a Microsoft account as we did on the previous phone let me add My Account Details is my Microsoft account is added to the other phone I'll get a notification once you are logged in you will get this message if you don't have any phone lock let's enable the phone lock now after that tap on this got it button the app will start restoring accounts here we go we have the same accounts as the other Android phone let's move to iPhone now the reason IOS and Android can't mix is that on Android Microsoft saves accounts to its own cloud while on iOS they use iCloud this is my iPhone will enable backup first by going to settings and enabling it from here if you get this error it means that iCloud drive is not enabled you will need to enable it from settings by going to your account and then iCloud and then iCloud Drive after that we can enable cloud backup in the authenticator app after the backup is complete you will see this message now we'll recover the accounts to pretend this is your new iPhone install Microsoft authenticator on this device open it when it's done accept the terms and conditions here you will see this restore from backup button you must click here to recover accounts next you will either get this screen with the backed up account or you will be asked to log in use the same email to login let's tap on the account here the app will start the recovery process here we go we have the same accounts now you can return to settings and enable cloud backup to backup accounts okay if you have lost your main phone and can't log in there are other ways to log in you can use the recovery code Microsoft gave you while setting up two-factor authentication for your Microsoft account you can also log in on a PC using your mobile phone and then by adjusting your two-factor authentication settings however in some scenarios you might not be able to recover your Microsoft authenticator accounts anyway this is it for this video thanks for watching please let me know if you need any help below and take care
