How To Tie A Quick Release Knot - The Outlook Riding Academy

[Music] okay i'm sam from the outlook riding academy and i'm here to show you how to put on a halter and how to do a safety quick release knot so i'm going to start with a halter and if you're wondering how to put it on there's basically an enclosed circle which is where the horse's nose is going to go through and an area that has to go across the head come over the back of the ears and be done up and you're always going to do this from the near side of the horse so i'm going to put his nose into the enclosed circle and of course he's feeding so that's okay it's going to be a trick and i'm going to do this up on the knee side it's the left hand side but it is called the near side now he may not be so willing to walk away from his food when we want to do the quick release knot okay so we're going to head up we're not going to head up okay now here i have already attached because i've got my own little writing skill so i've put a a wire through the post with a little twist at the back if i hadn't done that i would have actually put a blue string on the fence just so that if this horse is going to pull back he's going to break the string or pull the wire through before he damages my fence yeah he's very keen to have his hand okay i am going to have a short section of lead maybe not quite a meter and i'm going to put a loop through my little paper and now i'm going to thread another loop through again and i can do as many loops as i want but once i've got some loops he's pulled that tight and he can't get through [Music] but if i want him to be free my answer is to pull from them this side the loose side and he's off and he can head to his dinner there we go okay viewers just be sure to subscribe follow and like us because we're going to put something out every week and keep you entertained so until then cheerio you
