How to texture your VRChat clothing with a PNG (Unity Tutorial 2023)

hey guys and welcome back to another one of my videos so let's say you have a shirt or shorts or any type of clothing on your vrchat avatar and you wouldn't want to texture it yourself there's a nice solution for that where you can actually take a PNG and then you can place it as the textures of your avatar or of your shirt so let me show you how to do it so here I have an example of a shirt you can see that it has this Lumberjack pattern on it and this is all done by just using one PNG You're simply going to download the picture and then drag it into your Unity project so we're going to create a material so right click create material and then you're basically going to take this picture and drag it in Albedo right here make sure you turn the smoothness off so that it's not uh smooth now we're focusing on these two numbers here now depending on the pattern and the image that you're using some might have more detail some might have less detail so what these numbers do is they basically duplicate your image giving you that it's kind of sewn together or pieced together like a puzzle so basically you can play around with these numbers until you're satisfied with how your clothing looks like the only thing you have to keep in mind is to have both of these numbers the same because it can look very distorted if you don't have these numbers the same also one thing I forgot to mention in the video once you're satisfied with how the shirt turned out you can now switch the shaders of it so if you're using payomi you can switch to payomi however if you would like to change these numbers again then you would have to switch back to the standard material and then you can switch back to shaders again hope that this video helped you I'll see you next time peace
