How to style your wide leg pants | The Social

welcome back so listen up genen zed took the Fashion World by storm when they declared the skinny jean is dead Although our next guest is still a fan of the skinny she wants us props to open up and embrace the wideleg pants yes and they seem to be everywhere this season here to show us how to wear them and answer all of our burning questions about the trend is stylist Erica [Applause] War lady in red oh let's get right to it I got to confess I personally like with a wide leg pant when you see a little bit of ankle I mean we're both doing we both doing that today I like the ankle but I'm going to keep an open mind today and this first look is a WID laid neutral pair of pants on Elizabeth so let's see [Applause] Elizabeth ageless you're wearing this everywhere longer version look amazing see that look amazing okay so these are from Zara they're like $45.90 so really great price point if you're wanting to easier way into the wide leg Trend and haven't tried it before CU they're cheap and cheerful uh something you want to keep in mind though when we're talking about wide leg especially when you want to wear them with Flats hot stylist tip tailor the back of the pant slightly higher like I've done here with Elizabeth so that they don't drag when you what I don't like because here's the thing everybody has that problem again for me Elizabeth so we have The Brak still in the top of the pant and that way too if she wants to wear it with a heel it'll still have that beautiful long lean line in the front but slightly elevated in the back which you can't even tell that's a really good hot tip especially for women my petite ladies out there uh like Elizabeth this is the way to style it now I wanted to keep this sort of an athleisure Vibe so we have this really great cropped gray bomber and oversized boxy classic white tea both are from dynamite and then we kept the neutral Vibes going with this cute little bag from Aldo for under $50 and then back down to her shoe she's wearing a sneaker from Zara and you'll also notice this has a bit of a platform wedge so this is a really great option as well for my petite ladies out here who who do want to wear the wideleg uh pant but still want to have a little bit of elevation this is a great option loves it how I live my life thank thank you so much thank you no knows what's up you know okay why don't we go for the classic black wideleg pant and how it's styled on Candice come on out ohic beautiful this is such a gorgeous look oh my goodness I love this look it is so timeless it will never go out of style it's also ageless I love it so much now this beautiful black pair of trousers are from reformation and when you are looking to buy a wideleg pants something you want to keep in mind is look for a mid to highrise cut okay okay this is going to be universally flattering it's going to work for everybody because essentially what you want to do is you always want to elongate the leg so if you're doing a mid to a higher rise that's naturally going to do that for you so if you are adding more bulk to the bottom half which we are doing with wide leg that's something you want to keep in mind keep that long line I also love these in particular because they're also made of a tencil blend so it's an incredibly lightweight trouser so again if you're looking for something uh in the wideleg realm but maybe haven't dabbed your toe in it before this is a good option because the fabric is so flowy it's not going to feel heavy or bulky on the body now when we are working with a neutral sky the limit so here I've obviously styled it for the office for Candace with this really great blazer from H&M and that classic Tweed we added a mock neck sleeveless cashmere turtleneck underneath a simple classic belt from H&M for under $20 a beautiful black bag from from one of my new favorite designers from here in Toronto Sarah misra and then we finish it off with a classic ankle boot sowhere interview dinner everywhere everywhere love that all right it's time to check out a pair of wide leg Denim and I get the sense that this isn't going to be your basic pair of jeans Angie come on out it never is with me let's be honest basic it's not in my vocabulary aren these fun oh M I feel like you could do this I I would totally love this but I'm getting Taylor Swift Vibes it is a t I didn't even think about that you're right okay so I love these These are from Dynamite another hot tip when you're looking to buy a wide leg in denim you're actually going to want to look for a more streamlined cut so not an oversized wide leg more uh cut closer like a straight leg kind of what I was talking about earlier with Candace's look with the nice lightweight flowy fabric because denim is traditionally quite bulky you want it to be nice and streamlined and so this is a really great option for that I also love that added texture with the Pearl detail I just thought it was so fun and again you'll notice it's got that U mid to high rise just under her belly button here I've styled it with this oversized crisscross sweater from dynamite and classic cream to pull out the pearls into the top half of of this look and then we kept the rest with this sort of denim Vibes we did a fun little bag from Zara in Denim and then we also did a corresponding midwash denim Boot and that's another hot tip if you are petite like an and you're wanting to look give the illusion of looking taller monochromatic is always a great option and so that's why this works so well than you so much so much now Erica you recently devoted an entire segment to cargo pants and today you're going to show us a cargo wide leg hybrid that sounds so good Elizabeth come back out here look at our quick quick change artist over aren't these amazing she's amazing kidding me I'm loving every bit of this again so much this is a brand called hers kind it's a motherdaughter Duo sustainable brand it's from Copenhagen they make really cool stuff now if you're looking to do a wideleg cargo look for something that has an elasticized waist and an elasticized ankle because it's going to give that parachute effect which is the trendiest element of the cargo right now especially in a wider leg now as I was talking earlier before about monochromatic we kept things monochromatic with this really great ribbed turnac from the same brand in that beautiful forest green and then we added this cute little green bag from Zara and finish it off with a sock boot to again balance out the Silhouettes and the bulkiness of the pant and I think she looks Flawless amazing absolutely so good thank you thank you thank you beautiful we don't have a lot of time left but we have a last look to knock it out of the park how about a dressed up sequin wide leg anthia come on finish the B party [Applause] season I think Andrea Andrea and chinia are going to the same party today all about the sequins we couldn't talk about a wide leg pant without talking about sequin season and I love these so are looking to look add a textured wide leg uh pant into your wardrobe the best one to do it is in a neutral because you're just more likely to wear it more often and these are from Banana Republic I love them so so much again that highrise that slim cut that still offers that wide leg we kept things in neutral working with head to toe block but we're working with different textures and that's why it works so well we did this oversized tuxedo ins inspired blazer from Dynamite a sheer top underneath also from Dynamite a faux leather glove and then finish off with a pop of Sparkle with that gorgeous bag from IO I think she looks stunning as a toe beautiful once again you've outdone yourself thank you for
