hello my youtube friends today i want to show you how to add alerts like this and chat like this into your vr so you can easily interact with your audience on your vr live streams it's not hard to do so let's get to it [Music] today's video is sponsored by owned owned is a website that offers anything a twitch streamer could possibly want on own dot tv there are thousands of overlay packs with alerts and stingers built in as well as emotes and badges and like i said just about everything you could want but what really excites me is the own pro site on own pro you download a plugin for obs and in obs you can browse and select from thousands of overlay packs that download and are set up completely right out of the gate in obs you can add alerts and labels and modify the text and even create custom layouts in just a few minutes and they all have custom stingers that are set up with the profile so you don't have to do anything you just download them and they're ready to go in just a few minutes you're gonna have a professional stream that looks like you spent a million bucks the best part is for just a few bucks a month and i mean less than that crappy netflix subscription you never use anyways you're gonna have access to every single one so you could change it up on every stream in just a few minutes if you really wanted to so take a second and check out own tv and own pro down below there are links in the description for each one if you have the means to support the sponsors that support this channel it goes a long way towards helping me continue to make content that helps you so thanks to put our alerts and chat in vr we need to add an app to our steam vr the app is called ovr toolkit and it's about 12 bucks to download sure it's not free but it's not expensive either and it's an incredibly powerful tool now i've searched high and low and i can't find anything else that lets you add your own custom alerts to vr especially not for free so if you want custom alerts from stream elements or stream labs it's the only way to go as usual there is a link in the description in steam we want to go to the store and we want to go into the search bar and type ovr toolkit in there and just click on it when it comes up and then once we're in there we want to scroll down and go ahead and just add to cart and purchase the buy ovr toolkit if you're running vr games no doubt this is not your first install from steam so go ahead and complete the install make sure you download it and then open it up once on your desktop and then close it out before we move to the next step so now that it's installed and we made sure we ran it once we're gonna go into steam and we're gonna scroll up here and select the community tab on the community tab we're gonna go up here and we're going to click workshop then we're going to go down here to browse and we're going to select items then we just want to scroll down through the list here until we get to the custom url click on custom url and scroll down here and subscribe to the custom url and that's it our install is complete okay now we have everything we need installed let's go into vr and set this up the first thing we're going to do is go into twitch and we're going to go to stream manager and we're going to pop out the chat now that we have the chat out we can just close this window now we're going to open up oculus and we're going to turn on the headset and we're going to use airlink to connect up to our pc then i'm going to go and open up the oculus mirror so that you guys can see what's going on in vr next we're going to open up steamvr and after that we're going to open up the ovr toolkit so now we can just go over into our vr and if we roll our wrist over we can see this menu pop up here for the ovr toolkit we're going to click the little gear button and that pops up this ovr toolkit menu now i'm going to go ahead and click spawn a new window and this creates a new window here we're going to click on the little gear for the new window and we're going to go into our settings area and we're going to go to windows settings then we're going to go to set contents and we're going to scroll down here and we're going to find our twitch window and this is it right here so i can just select that and now you can see that that is our twitch window so we can grab that twitch window by just pointing at it and holding down the grab key and we can drag it over to where we want it but first you can see when i turn my other hand over here we have this little fist thing and we want that to be green that connects it to our hand now that it's connected to our hand we can drag it anywhere in relation to our arm and there we go so now it's locked right there we can move it around we can do whatever we want and we're going to go into windows settings and we're going to scroll down here and we want to go ahead and make sure that our frame rate is super low we don't need it high on this and we want it in eco mode so this isn't going to tank our stream or anything like that and we want to go ahead and check this this makes the box unvisible when we are not looking at it which is awesome and we can grab it anytime and just kind of move it around if we want i'm just repositioning it here now it's unvisible when we're not looking at it and now we're going to click this box and we're going to set the distance and what this does is it makes the distance between the box and your face where it will disappear so i have to bring it close to my face to show it or i can move it away from my face and it'll go away and you kind of have to set this for your own preferences depending upon how you want to play the game and there we go so now we have our chat box completely set up we're going to go back into home and we're going to click the url button and we're going to go to open overlay now we're going to just move this over here really quick and i'm gonna go ahead and open another window and move it over here and i'm gonna click the gear on the new open window and i'm gonna go and go to home and i'm gonna select the contents of that window i'm just going to choose the display that i have my stream elements up on and that means that i can go ahead and copy out the link for our alerts and then i'm going to create a new page i'm going to paste that link in here and i'm going to click it and then click it again and then it has the copy link so i'm going to copy it out now i'm going to go over and select that other window and i'm going to go ahead and put our cursor in there so we can put some text in there then i'm going to go to our overlay and i'm going to click on keyboard and i'm going to hit control v on the keyboard to paste that link in there and now i just need to change the box size we're going to set this up so it's 2 000 by 1 thousand just like our alerts and we're gonna click open and now we can drag this over here and if we go back into our stream elements we can just go ahead and click on here and set our alerts off and boom there we go you can see our alerts are in here so now we're going to go ahead and close this box down we're going to close our keyboard down what i'm going to do is i'm going to square this up in my viewport and i'm going to click the little gear button and i'm just going to go in here and lock it to my headset and now i can use both of the grab keys and pull out and it will in big in this it'll make it a lot bigger so now you can't even see the box but it's right in front of our face and then you can use one controller hold down the grip to move it in and out and however you want it now you want to make sure that you lock it like this so you're not gonna see the box when you're actually physically in the game and then i'm gonna dig in it again and move it around a little bit and there we go and let's just test this there we go so we can see it's a little high so i'm going to grab it and i'm going to drag it down a little bit to where i want it make sure it's squared and all that kind of stuff this is exactly how it's going to appear in game and we'll just set another one off to make sure that it is where we want it to be and there we go not too bad it seems like it might be a little over to the right but it's centered enough for a town this size it's even a little cockeyed but all you have to do is reach out grab it and then you can rotate it place it wherever you want and you're good to go so there we go now we have all that stuff to exit out of this menu you just go ahead up here and center your cursor on the little x and you click and boom that closes everything down and everything is still working we can test it right here now of course we don't want this other window in here so i'm going to go and click here and that way we can just exit out of this window and now we just have our two windows that we need all we have to do is exit out of this little tool here and we're all set to go live with alerts now i'm not a vr veteran by any stretch so i apologize for the slightly jumpy captures in there for anyone who's been doing vr for a while i have no doubt the setup is going to be really easy for you and if you're new to vr and you want to stream you're going to be able to find your way through it streaming in vr is quite a process and it adds a lot of things that can go wrong
