How to sleep comfortably in a Honda Civic Hybrid | Camping no-build conversion

hi I'm Ray I travel around the country on a very small budget figuring out innovative ways to do so today I'm going to be showing you how to set up a Honda Civic Hybrid with with real bed is it possible to sleep in a Honda Civic Hybrid I can tell you from personal experience it is but there's some tips and tricks that can make this tiny space feel a lot bigger a Honda Civic Hybrid is one of the smallest sedan cars to sleep in because the inside compartment is not connected to the truck so you cannot stick your legs into the trunk compartment because the Hybrid battery is in way what's even harder than sleeping in a sedan car is sleeping two people in a sedan car so in this video I'm going to show you how to set up a sedan car to sleep two people comfortably this is how I slept in the car before I knew any of this see the first thing you'll notice is the seat belt uh things dig into the side of your back the second thing you notice is that you can't straighten your legs so me at five foot three it's pretty uncomfortable to sleep in this curled up position sleeping in the driver's all the way back gets stuck back seat so it doesn't go all the way flat but you can sleep here and it's okay I still have my legs compressed my legs can't straighten out all the way the best way to create more space in the back seat is by removing the seat cushion there's about four bolts holding them in place which I've already removed I tried taking off the back cushion up and there's a little track that it slides out of ha there goes the bottom cushion I just took the cushions out and now we have about four inches more space in both of these directions when I'm trying to put down the seat look it goes completely horizontal with the cushions removed the front seat can go back and down it goes all the way flat and my legs can stretch out all the way this is a 24 inch wide section that I've cut off of a memory foam mattress topper this is a inexpensive way to make a couple of foam mats that can be laid across the seat this is what it looks like with the foam sheet and a couple of pillows to make it cozy the car seat has a bit of a dip in the seat cushion area so I filled that with a heavy jacket and a bag of clothes at least for now to get this evened out I can lie down all the way flat it's great this is pretty good I could get used to the SE to this but if I'm sleeping in the car actually at night I'd want the windows covered for some more privacy and comfort to cover the front window for some extra privacy uh this is a reflective material window cover that's meant for the front windshield it works pretty well what do you think of this setup have you ever tried sleeping in your vehicle like this let me know in the comments and I'll let you know how this setup goes on a big upcoming road trip please remember to hit like And subscribe on this video thanks
